As Maila went through her options, she continued her walk throughout the maze. The night had fallen over them and she was starting to think that it would have been better to leave with Valentin instead of exploring the maze on her own. It was rather dark and even though she was not scared, walking around alone let a different feeling bloom inside of her. Boredom. She had not expected to be feeling this particular draining emotion this early, especially not at a ball like this. Her night blue dress sparkled in the glimpses of light that broke through the hedges and she could hear the leafs rustling in the wind from time to time. Her wand laid between her index and middle finger as she mindlessly fiddled with it. She was still looking for a way out and when she turned another corner, that wish seemed to come true. Her eyes widened as the hedges tore in front of her, for her. They opened, revealing an exit that she could walk through. She has wanted to get out of here after all, right..? On the other side of the exit laid a flower that appeared to have fallen from the hedges. Maila looked it at for quite some time, standing outside the maze with one foot and inside with the other. A small smile spread across her lips and she picked it up, before she turned around and walked back inside the maze. This was a good enough end for her night. She would go back to the Durmstrang quarters and end the day with a book.

Akihiko was glad he had won the match, but he ready to get out of the public prying eyes. He didn't need anyone to catch just how much 'love' was in his gaze for Mira. There wasn't anything wrong with her, it was just that he was only dating her to make his parents happy. He really wanted to feel something for her, but he didn't. It just wasn't working. There was only one thing to do. To distance himself from her, and let her down as gently as possible. But that was a problem for another day.

Engrossed in his thoughts, he barely noticed the chaos he was walking through. Burning hedges, injured students and who knew what else. He never saw any of it, too concerned about what he was going to do about his sort-of girlfriend absolutely date. For now, he would just avoid her. But...that didn't seem like a good decision either. Maybe he would act like everything was normal until he came up with a good solution, although that didn't sound great either.

When he was out of the ball grounds and nearer to the Mahoutokoro lodgings, he took off at a faster pace. He was ready to get out of the nice clothes he was wearing for the ball, and into something a little more comfortable, and informal. Maybe pajamas, depending on how much school work he had left. As he continued his brisk pace, anyone could hear him muttering scattered phrases in Japanese, things like 'did I do that yet?' and 'I did that yesterday.'.
