"No worries, ya never know with her." Howard shrugged off Erin's bizarre behavior. To think of it, shoving some food in his face was one of the more normal things that had ever occurred between them. For whatever reason he would continue on by inviting both Serena and Bloom to get food from the concession table. Quite the trio packed full of hormones and hidden feelings. Surely diving deeper into the awkwardness was the best solution, but fortunately Bloom would have some sense to break up this third wheel scenario. However, the way she was looking at Howard did nothing to help his puddly mind. There was a look in them that was way more than friendly and he about damn near buckled at the knee when she pressed against him ever so gently. Thank Merlin the young man couldn't blush anymore as he turned his gaze back to Serena, though the stupid grin on his face may have faded a moment too soon.

So, there Howard and Serena stood, the seconds passing by like years as the awkward silence engulfed them. Part of his brain had survived the bombardment of hormones and wished that things were more comfortable between the two of them. She was a dear friend, yet they never seemed to share a moment that was peaceful. Surely they could just have a nice chat or even share a dance together and have some fun. Perhaps one day they would sort through their feelings for each other, but with Bloom's scent still whirling around his nostrils today would not be that day. Howard opened his mouth to say something though the words just simply weren't there. However, a new presence would save the day.

A beautifully mustached presence at that. Howard's eyes would widen as the other young man began to speak. This was Serena's date? An interesting choice, but he was more than eager to show her a good time. Though he still harbored some kind of feelings for Serena, Howard felt no jealousy, almost a relief actually as it pushed his thoughts back towards Bloom. "Nah, she's all yours mate." He said with a smile and gave Serena a nudge in his direction.

A small smile spread across her delicate features. After having only met Marius for two minutes she would make sure to protect him at all costs and make his night enjoyable and memorable, in a good way. He mumbled about not knowing what to do and just wanting to make friends. It was a simple plan and should be easily achievable so it was time to get to work. As she linked arms with him and had him lead them to the direction of the tables scattered with different plates of food and types of drink.

She'd unlink their arms as she felt him stiffen under her grasp, immediately feeling bad for possibly making him uncomfortable. Her finger tapped her chin in thought. "Well, it's not uncommon coming to a ball and having no idea what to do.. buuut if you want to go out to get some air they have the mask and flower crown making in the courtyard. It would be less people and I really want you to have something to remember tonight.. either a mask or a flower crown." She would twiddle her thumbs while she rambled out her thought and hope for the night. She had flowers already tucked in her hair so it didn't make a lot of sense to make one for her but maybe a mask would look nice..

As she got lost in thought another question popped in her mind. "Did you put your name in for the Hex Wizard Tournament? I mean it wouldn't be a good idea if I entered being blind and all but I couldn't imagine them letting first years sign up.. I'd be terrified even if it isn't that dangerous or so they say." Annie would go on to ramble only quieting herself as she reached out to find a beverage with sparkling cider in it, sipping quietly from it a small frown on her face.

She'd finish sipping drink, tapping her finger against the side of it. "Okay have you made up your mind? Where do you want to go, we have plenty of time so don't be indecisive on me, this is your night to explore and have fun!" Annie flashed Marius a big smile and raised her hand to ruffle the hair on his head playfully, finding him a bit shorter than her but it made sense due to the age gap that he hadn't hit his several growth spurt phase yet.

"Let's go have a ball!" Annie cheered, pumping her fist in the air, luckily the one not holding the half-full glass with a carefree laugh.

Hunter enterd the Great hall with shaky hands. Originally he had planned to just not attend the ball as he had back during the fall. Unfortunately, his parents had a different plan for him and on such short notice too. It wasn't till this morning that he recieved a letter with a tux, and a dish to provide for the ball. It took a lot of mental preparation for Hunter to take the first few steps, but he was honestly feeling like a wreck despite his pristine and neat look. It took months for him to be only slightly comfortable in the great hall surrounded by all the students at Hogwarts; however, even then he couldn't muster up the courage to talk towards large group of students. Now he was at an event that included all sorts of students in varying large amounts. Hunter honestly felt incredibly anxious and worried about this whole ball.

In his possession was Maafe, a sort of spicy peanut butter stew with a tomato base, rice, and mixed with diced pieces of chicken. Hunter's yellow glasses that matched his tux blocked his eyes, and his expression was rather calm. His hands on the other hand were incredibly shaky, and all Hunter could think was worries. Worried the Maafe wasn't quite right and that many of the students here wouldn't appreciate it. He had to make a few minor tweaks to it due to the fact not everyone could handle very or even mild spicy food. Hunter wasn't much of a cook even when it came to something like a stew, and he was worried that the few tweaks may have made the dish unpalatable. He was also worried of spilling it as it took great effort to make his hands shake only a minimum.

After placing the dish down for the potluck, Hunter immedietly turned around and decided to just leave. He wore the tux, he brought the dish, took a few steps inside the great hall so it could be considered dancing, right? Hunter took out his journal and a pen, two items that he never left off his person. Keeping his eyes on the journal and not on anyone else, Hunter slowly began to make his escape from the great hall. The loud chatter, and many foot steps surrounding him was worrysome, but he decided to just keep pulling through.

He counted his steps when he entered, and he counted them as he was begining to leave. So many people, so much anxiety, it felt like the walls were about to fall on him. Losing himself, Hunter didn't quite realize he was about to- *bump* into another student.

Closer to being tripped, Hunter felt an immediate rush of embarrassment come over him, and he grabbed his journal and pen before they could be knocked away on the ground. He looked over towards who ever he bumped into, and may have accidentially caused to fall as well: "I-I-I-I-I'm s-s-sorry," he started while still looking at the ground. Soon looking up to meet his victim, he was surprised to see a familiar face, "M-Ms.Cohen?!"

A flash of blue would herald the arrival of yet another denizen of the night's festivities. Hazel eyes roamed the hall as the newcomer surveyed his surroundings in search of a familiar face framed in red hair. It had been two months since he'd asked her to accompany him on this night. And while, to some, that may have seemed a bit premature, he remembered what had happened the last time he'd been slow to pop the question. Of all the people she could have agreed to join at the previous ball, she'd managed to choose the single one in the entire school that he knew possessed the capability of causing her harm. And besides the danger Levi posed, it had made him horribly jealous.
Death threats which he may or may not have uttered notwithstanding, Marshal simply refused to leave the door open for an occurrence of similar nature.

In keeping with pastel shades which seemed to accompany springtime functions, the Gryffindor sported a light blue suit, completed with khakis and a blazer, both of a corresponding shade. A white undershirt could be seen as well, serving as the backdrop to a navy necktie.
The outfit, admittedly, had not been his personal choice. Evidently convinced he had no ability to dress himself for special events (possibly due to past experience), Evelynn had been rather insistent on making the decision for him. He liked the style fine, of course; but he couldn't say the same for its comfort level.
Tugging at the tie which seemed determined to cut off his air flow, he continued his observation of the room, failing to spot his destined companion, but entirely unable to miss a developing commotion near the refreshment tables. Temptation pulled at his legs, threatening to drag him toward the food fight. The hectic happenstance included two of his favorite things in the entire world: food and fun. One simply couldn't go wrong in giving in to the reckless whispers that invariably beckoned them toward such an activity.
However, there was one con he could think of; a rather large one, in fact. Said con being that Evelynn Decipio would never deign to remain in the same room wherein a food fight was underway for more time than it took to roll her storm-ridden eyes in indignant repulsion. And that knowledge, in turn, indicated that she would not be found in the Great Hall.
Gazing longingly at the culinary chaos for a moment more, Marshal would then turn on his heel and exit through the same portal which had granted his entrance mere minutes earlier.

Bloom had walked over to the cherry blossoms where she admired their beauty. The flowers that were scattered around the room made the Great Hall so fragrant. What could have been a very intense scent only smelled so fresh.

While her focus was on the flowers, Bloom's line of sight was elsewhere. She was keeping tabs on Serena and Howard. They were now alone together and it only pained Bloom. She felt herself to be a good friend to give Serena the time alone with Howard. It was the least she could do for lying to her at the Quidditch Game-- although she still did not know that she did.

Speaking of the lie, Bloom could also see that Arjan had walked into the Great Hall. It seemed that with every event, every one grows a bit older. He was definitely not bad looking, but she heard countless remarks about his personality being horrid. Bloom's chocolate eyes went back onto Howard and Serena, only to find this time a third person with them. Squinting, she realized that it was Galton Lansdale, a fourth year. What is he doing there? she thought, wondering why he would be talking to them. His attention seemed to be primarily with Serena than with Howard.

If Bloom could understand body language, it looked as though Howard was nudging Serena to be with Galton. For a moment, Bloom tried to make eye contact with Howard. If he had looked at her, she would have given him a small smile, and walked further away. One thing her older sister taught her was to never wait for boys; they should come to her. Bloom decided to make her way towards the tables of food. She hoped her sister was right, however. Who knew if Howard was going to make his way back to her or do his own thing.

There were so many different cuisines that were before her: Japanese cuisines, Bulgarian cuisines, American cuisines, you name it! Bloom could smell the aroma of all foods blended together. Honestly, it was not as nice of a smell as the flowers themselves. As she was looking at the food, she saw a young student, perhaps a first year, watching others dance. Working on her social scene, Bloom walked up to the girl.

"Hi! I love your dress. It really fits the theme here," Bloom said with a smile. "You don't go to Hogwarts, I don't think," she added, honestly admitting that she knew not many who were below her years. "What school do you go to?" she asked, her smile friendly and sincere.

Rosella had almost been late meeting her friends to head to the ball. She may or may not have been painting somewhere on the grounds and had been distracted. That is why her outfit was as simple as possible for what she could think of for Drew along with her limited variety of clothes. The girl decided on quickly throwing on a pair of ripped jeans with a black t-shirt under a long sleeve button up. Ro may or may not have already been wearing the back shirt while painting, so if anyone looked close enough, they would see the small splatters of paint across it and the few flecks on her face.

The girl was almost out of breath as she panted slightly from the run to her friends. Drew was not their yet, but she assumed that he would be meeting them at some point. Seeing Cassie's outfit, she scrunched her eyes, wondering if she always had that much paint on her and starting wondering if people had seen her often like that. She did not have time to wonder much though as they made their way into the school, the thought of the paint still on her mind.

"Chaos is all this school is known for," the girl muttered as she attempted to shove Charles arm from around her shoulders. It would not do much though as he was much taller than her. Ro had a feeling that Charles had something planned and she had a feeling she was not going to enjoy it either. Giggling slightly, the Russian girl followed close behind her friends, choosing to not eat anything for the moment as she rolled her eyes at Charles daring her to ruin the jacket.

"I will not be touching that jacket," she growled out to the boy as she was not planning on ruining one of her closest friends jackets any time soon. She would not be afraid to throw something at the boy though if he were to take the jacket off though. Rosella really was not paying attention to much, she had not even realized at this point that she did not have her wand with her and it had been forgotten in her cabin, the girl was too focused on the fact that she really wanted to paint the room. That is until she heard Charles speaking to her.

"I will have you know that I am not trying to impress anyone, Charles," she spoke quickly as she stepped towards him with a glare. She did not want to comment on his outfit because he was dressed as Cassie, but could not think of a comeback fast enough and decided against it. "Guyliner, really. Who are you trying to impress because I do not think it is working?" The girl's words were jumbled together and with the addition of her Russian accent made it extremely hard to understand if you did not listen carefully. The girl only crossed her arms and nodded her head as they mentioned going somewhere else, she was not in the greatest of moods and was willing to fight back at any moment.

Hailey walked into the Blossom Ball with an air of confidence and mischievousness radiating off of her. The Great Hall of Hogwarts was decorated quite nicely, sure to set the mood for the romantic and memorable evening the students were sure to have. She, however, had not come to dance. The ball did not appeal to her being a dance and all, but she and a few others had planned on a different approach to the night that wasn't all romance and sweetness.

Looking around, she realized she could not spot her Durmstrang allies anywhere in the hall, so she decided on going to the courtyard to look for them. Sure enough, when she got out into the cool night air she found them at the festival. She walked up to Charles Alluring with a slight grin and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Это будет интересная ночь, ты согласен? It will be an interesting night, don't you agree?" she asked in Russian. She hadn't planned on going with anyone to the dance in the first place, so she was glad that at least she would be able to hang out with some friends while there. It would make the evening much more tolerable.

For the first time she noticed the girl standing next to Charles. The same girl who had been standing with him at the arrival of the foreign schools. She had said something about not wanting Charles to get involved in the fighting or something. Hailey remembered that she had taunted the other girl for her words. Maybe she could try and start anew with the girl though. "Hey. I think we may have gotten off on the wrong foot. I'm Hailey Farin, if you didn't already know."

"No, I didn't," Marius answered, shaking his head at Annie's question. "I... I actually would like to, but I think it's such a slim chance that I got chosen. I mean, as you've mentioned, I'm just a firstie. I still have a lot to learn, and definitely there are many better candidates than I am. No way, José; better to accept the reality than to give myself a false hope that I might somehow be chosen if I put my name inside the goblet."

From Annie's words, the twelve-year-old concluded that his senior did not throw in her name, either. He therefore saw no use of asking it, even if it was just for a small talk. Instead, she mentioning her visual condition inspired him to chat with her about something else. "You play Quidditch, though! I've always wanted to be a part of our house team, maybe someday I will. How does it feel actually, to play for Hufflepuff? Do tell me," he said enthusiastically.

Afterward, the brown-eyed boy took a few sips of water - he did not really feel like drinking anything else at the moment. He paid no real attention to how much he had actually drunk before the fourth year asked if he had made up his mind. She playfully ruffled his hair, and Marius softly laughed. As the eldest child in the family, he had never knew how it felt to have a big sister or an elder brother, but maybe this is how it was like.

As an honest reply to her question, he shrugged, signalling that he was unsure. However, he did not want her to know since he did not want to upset her, and thus his silent answer. To the older student, he audibly said, "We can try the art table, then. Perhaps it's quieter there, and we can finally start talking to others." He was by no means good with his hands, but he suggested the art activity as she seemed interested in it.

𝕺rchid eyes widened as Regina took note of her and Faye's proximity after the latter subtly closed the distance between them, their arms almost brushing. The phantom contact almost made her flinch instinctively, as she always did whenever other people attempted to touch her. She was incredibly adversed to any tactility, mostly because of the trauma caused by her older sister. But somehow, after the initial surreptitious jerk of her elbow, Regina didn't find it unpleasant to be this close to Faye.
“Do you know who they are? Sorry, I really did mean it when I said I wasn’t good at this. Honestly, I thought I was going to stalk you the entire ball. I get really jittery and-"
"...It is a non-issue. I usually do not engage in active socialising either," She said, her voice neutral even though she noticed how the other girl's hands were trembling. It made an uncomfortable bile rose in her throat and she was suddenly overcome with the need to offer comfort. "It is normal during events like this to make acquaintances with people you have never met. But, if it bothers you so...would you like to go to the courtyard for a breath of fresh air instead?"

The Gryffindor knew not of when she had ever been considerate other people's feelings. Up until then, Regina had always put her own needs first, believing that she was not obligated to care for anybody else but herself in order to focus on her one single life goal. The others always avoided her because of her cold demeanor anyways, most of them had already established her as someone unlikeable so what was the point of convincing them otherwise?

But Faye was different. The Ravenclaw tried so hard just to earn Regina's favour even though she'd shoved her into the Great Lake, insulted her and pushed her away several times to the point where it was ridiculous. No one had ever fought so much just to be her friend before, and Regina found it incredibly endearing, if not a bit foolhardy. She would never admit it out loud, but she supposed it wouldn't hurt for her to return the kindness just a bit. Only Faye was deserving of it anyhow (and she would fall victim to the Killing Curse before she'd ever let the redhead knew that.)

With a ghost of a smile on her lips and her violet gaze warm despite her seemingly expression of disinterest, Regina gently took hold of her date's hand and gave it a comforting squeeze.

"Come. Let us see the festival area."

After excusing themselves from the two French boys and the Hufflepuff girl Lindsey, the ravenette began leading Faye out the door that led to the bustling courtyard, their hands never loosening. On the way there they happened to pass by a table where Regina instantly recognised the faces of Juniper Kelly--another Ravenclaw whom had roped her into some rule-breaking--and Draven Mirador--the Slytherin boy she'd met in the Room of Requirement. They seemed to be quite cozy with each other judging by the look Juniper was giving Draven whilst holding a flower in her hands. Regina briefly remembered Faye mentioning how she was extremely close with the short gremlin, and her lips thinned a bit when she realised that she'd have to put up with Juniper for her crush's best friend's sake now.

Regina shot a fond glance at Faye over her shoulder before they exited the Great Hall.

Her shoulder's would relax as Marius began talking more. It seemed he was getting more comfortable and her actions hadn't put him off. Maybe he was one of those people that took time to open up. Whether she was right or not with her guess she was happy she finally cracked the oyster so she could be more chatty with him. A sigh she hadn't been expecting escaped her when he said he hadn't entered. "Well I'm glad you didn't at least because it would be a lot for a first year. But either way I would support you. And hey, maybe in another life I would've entered but you are right, there are a lot more likely candidates to choose from.." She trailed off in deep thought. A lot of people had apparently entered but did any of her friends? What would she feel like if they got picked. Her gut twisted at the idea but shook her head. If they got themselves into this mess and got chosen, good for them but she isn't bailing them out.

The next thing she knew Marius' voice would raise signaling excitement as he spoke about Quidditch. A rather loud laugh escaped her. "Uh oh, don't get me started I will talk your ear off all night." She'd link back up her arms with him as he suggested they could go outside to the Courtyard. As he lead the way weaving through the crowd of people she'd talk about Quidditch.

"Well yes I do play Quidditch, I am the Second-String Keeper but before that I was a First String Chaser when I wasn't blind." She'd pause collecting herself and shaking her head to not dive too deep into the memories. "Well I'm sure you'll get on, maybe not in your preferred position right away but people come and go so I'm sure I'll see you on the team soon enough." Annie nudged him lightly, a small smile on her lips.

"Oh and when I was a Chaser that was my.. first or second year I believe.. although they all mix together at this point-- She shook her head, a chuckle escaping her. -- we won the House Cup and played against the Durmstrang Team. We even won against them but half of us ended up in St. Mungos. They are a rough batch, but they put up a good fight." A large smile had been plastered on her face as she recalled the match. It was exciting beyond belief. Exciting was probably a tamer word to describe the whole event. Her heart raced with every game she played no matter how many years she'd been on the team it was just a rush of adrenaline and nerves.

A small sigh then escaped from her lips, feeling content as she chatted with Marius. Soon they would head through the doors of the Great Hall and outside to the Craft Table. So far, so good and the night had only just begun.
