Magical Masquerade: The entrance
He was being held up by the ever-lovely @Meenauh Silmataurea. Is that even the right word? His eyes flickered downward at the wand in the girl's hand. A slender length of unassuming wood that hid a magical core that served as an arcane focus and he a focus for her wrath. He let out a slight cough that poorly hid a guffaw as he insisted he knew what was going on. "I have no idea what is wrong with whoever that is," he insisted. "If I wanted to, I could" he cocked his head to the side as if he was attempting to figure out what was actually going on with the strange Hufflepuff only to see his brother circling around the perimeter of the growing crowd. He never would finish that comment.
"Don't..." A trinity, this single word being directed at a third target, his half-brother Giddy. He did not know what the boy was up to but he knew that it was not going to be good. He had heard snippets here and there of his younger brother's intentions, of his anger towards their father and the reversal of circumstances. Yes, he was fully aware by this time that his younger brother wanted him dead and attempted to make sure it happened. Knowing is a far-cry from proving and even if there was definitive proof, like any family there was an underlying complexity to all things. It would be brushed under the rug, 'forgiven' and they would move on. The suffering by one at the hands of the other is only truly a crime if it inconveniences the remainder of the clan. But the boy was smarter than he was often credited, his portrayal of weakness was his asset.
Gideon ran towards a boy (@Finnegan Conner) and a girl would streak past the two of them. He would avert his gaze, looking at Jack as he attempted to gore @Pericles Dralt. This would be followed by chaos, Hogwarts students commonly making things worse for everyone. A professor would intercede, attending to the melee between @Jack Warren and Pericles Dralt. Another student would attempt to attack his younger brother and a snake would also slither in his younger brother's direction. He had no idea what specifically they were targeting the third-year over, but he also did not greatly care. He must have done something noticeable in the midst of this chaos to garner their specific attention. He was also quite capable of handling himself he decided as his attention left his family drama and set squarely on Jack.
He would attempt to walk past the drawn wand and to move towards the hole Jack was digging. He did not know what or who had enchanted Jack, if he did, he would have moved with greater caution as he attempted to reach into the hole and quickly excavate whatever it was that Jack was after. He was not attempting to hide this action, in fact he even said it out loud. "I am after your thing?" A tone of questioning, he did not know what was actually down there - a rune, a fancy stone? He knew two things - that Jack was violent and that he was after something. That meant that one of two things would happen if he took this unburied object from this hole - Jack would either respond violently and possessively or he would stop when the item was in his hand. He did not know that it was likely the former. He also did not know that Jack had dug up a human skull.

Action: Attempting to pull the object in the ground that Jack has been digging up.
RP: Trying to act cool and calm in front of Xailah.
Note: Vladimir's strength stat is 15, his evasion is also 15 (for moderation). He has a 20% auto-dodge. I do not anticipate any other relevant stats being needed. Feel free to pick a DC of choice for removing the skull from the ground as it is still embedded in the earth. He was not be aware that it is a skull unless he successfully pulls the skull from the ground.

Magical Masquerade: The entrance
So, Ying was at summer camp, just as he suspected. As she removed her mask, he similarly untied his kitsune mask, revealing dark eyes against pallid skin which did not see the sun very often. One might say that those eyes were cold, as they were rarely lit up by a smile that was not one of politeness or the rare expression of amusement. Ah, yes, that quidditch match was quite the challenge, especially for the opposing team's second-string seeker, who had to take to the skies after their first string dropped out, and had suffered not only Kohana-senpai's bludger, but also a blurt. He recognized the girl instantly as she took off her mask, from a flicker of his gaze. "I'm not proud to know there were fouls in that game from our team," he said apologetically, since he was not one who liked to cheat, mainly for the risks and consequences of being caught. "I admire how you managed to hold on to your broom until the very end." And this was true. Akira himself could hardly imagine being able to do so under similar conditions, as a novice flyer who was actually afraid of heights, though he would never admit it now. "I'm assuming you're a quidditch player?" he asked. She seemed like a natural, unlike him.
All of a sudden, he noticed Colin's eyes boring into -- or through -- him, and the boy's expression turning from one of joy into one of surprise, then tears. The next moment, he had dashed away from them. Although confused, the boy's actions didn't surprise Akira, who had already thought him quite strange. Perhaps these dramatics were part of the boy's every day life? He glanced at the two girls, but it seemed that his companions were equally confused, though not particularly alarmed.
Instead, he focused on Bea (which was the name that both Colin and Ying had called her) when she spoke and asked him about Mahoutokoro. He thought for a moment, since he had never considered whether he liked Mahoutokoro or not -- it was just where he went, no questions asked. It was a school that he was proud to attend, and it operated under rules and constructs with which he was not only familiar, but also exceled under, being the disciplined and competitive student that he was. He knew that his less studious peers had a much harder time receiving satisfaction or acknowledgement. "I like it, though not everyone does," he admitted. Did he like it, though? How cut-throat it could be? Where students were more likely to keep their tips to themselves for fear of being exceeded by their classmates, and each assignment or test result could bring the disgrace of dropping a few ranks in your class roster, such that your robe might turn a different color? Hesitation briefly flickered across his otherwise stoic gaze. But he was a navy robe, ranking second in color among six. He had no right to complain about this system he was so good at beating. He was no delinquent, like some that he knew. "I've heard that Mahoutokoro is one of the stricter schools, but I think that is one of the best ways to teach students not only about academics, but about the real world." For the world similarly had its own rules and was oftentimes unforgiving. It reinforced that failure was unacceptable, and came with repercussions.
"The people of Hogwarts have always been very welcoming," he noted, truthfully. The staff and students took great care to welcome the foreign visitors and prepare well-thought-out events, but he supposed there was only so much they could manage, since some form of chaos always seemed to erupt on its doorstep, whether it be bombings or other magical dangers and bad actors. "It's just unfortunate that so many calamities seem to happen here, though on the other had, we could probably expect that not much exciting can come out of living on an isolated island that houses Mahoutokoro." If calamities were an 'exciting' cup of tea in some peoples' books. You never knew.
He had already noticed the chaos a distance away before Bea mentioned it. Was there blood being spilt? There were cries of rage, warning, and likely pain. He narrowed his eyes at the scene, though he couldn't quite make out exactly what was happening -- whether it was just a schoolyard brawl or something more. To be sure, none of the people involved were those he knew, which lessened his likelihood of involvement. It was better to dissociate, he decided, unwilling to risk his health for anyone he didn't know. "Perhaps we should move away from this," he suggested matter-of-factly, quite seeming to lack in curiosity or care.
Interactions: @Beatrice Dupont, @Fang Hui-Ying
Action: Nothing. Chatting, preferring to dissociate from the chaos. Exits thread.

OOC: Feel free to dive into the chaos if you wish! Akira is not someone to do so himself, but if someone he knows does and he senses danger for them, he'd be more likely to help.

𝓦hatever was wrong with Astra Norrick was entirely beyond her. Something had clearly startled the girl, or someone, Finnegan's blond friend, maybe, had upset her in some way, and now she was on the ground, shaking like a leaf and choking back tears. Bex had never been particularly good at handling other people's emotional states - and people crying tended to make her feel like an awkward dad trying to share a vulnerable moment with you, sorry that happened, sport - but Lucie was good at it, and she could totally channel Lucie. For sure.
"Hey, Astra, it's okay. Do you know what box breathing is? I can show y-"
Bex has spent a fair bit of time with Finnegan Connor. She's gotten fairly familiar with his hoarse, welsh-accented voice and the myriad of crimes he chose to use it for. She'd heard him laughing, cheering, imitating professors, and telling her that she'd have to fight a giant spider in the dark. He was a comforting, if eternally aggravating presence, someone classified in the Rolodex of her mind as inherently good, even when he was at his most pre-teen boy levels of unbearable. So when he screamed, she wasn't able to understand it, at first.
It's was a guttural, animalistic sound, the fear in his voice so raw and visceral that the adrenaline that flooded her body was immediate and staggering. Her brain and body struggled to get in sync as she frantically looked over and assessed the embracing pair, trying to reconcile sight and sound. She sees the blood in the same breath that her brain finally processes oh, Finn is screaming. He isn't looking at her, doesn't seem to be looking at anything in particular, really, his face ashen and so very, very afraid.
She was up on her feet and moving towards him before she even had the conscious thought to do so, tripping over her cape in her haste and biting down on her tongue so hard she could taste the sickly, metallic tang of her own blood. The blond boy seemed to have reached the same conclusion she had and had taken up the cause of screaming as well, calling out for help as Finnegan's blood slowly soaked through his clothes, coating the blond boy's hands and ruining the fabric of his embarrassing little teddy bear. She couldn't see the wound, couldn't even see what could have caused it, but the acute panic blocking out her senses makes it hard to think, leaving her confused and helpless, a far cry from the logical, tactical Ravenclaw that the hat seemed to think she was meant to be.
The blond boy points at Astra, claiming that she was the one who'd hurt Finn, and, well, Bex found she couldn't believe that, or maybe wouldn't believe that. She was so privileged in the fact that she could still see the world in black-and-white, good or bad, all or nothing. In a few hours or a few days, Bex would learn what Jack had done to Pericles tonight, and her ability to trust the people in her life unquestionably would become a door shut and locked, her previous faith in her own ability to distinguish the intentions of those around her moved somewhere permanently out of her reach.
But that was skipping to the end. Right now, she had a book in front of her, pages open and ready for her to read, without enough knowledge of the language to make any use of it. All she had was her gut instincts, and while she and Astra had had their many, many differences, they'd reached a tentative, hopeful accord in the hospital wing back in February, and to Bex, this meant that it simply wasn't possible for Astra to have hurt Finn, at least not on purpose. Had something happened when she threw herself into Finnegan's friend? Had that hurt him somehow?
She grabbed onto the blond boy's arm, her grip tight and frantic as she tried to get his attention. "What happened? He's bleeding, step back, please, let me see, we have to call somebody-"
The first spell taught to you in first year DADA is Periculum, like muggle kids are taught to how to call 911 before they really even understand the concept of emergencies in the first place. It's about muscle memory, of not needing to think in the moment. If you're in danger, cast the Red Spark Charm, and someone older and more capable than you will come and save you. What a horrible thing it was to have the knowledge of what you're supposed to do, but lack the faith in yourself to be able to accomplish it effectively. She could count the number of times she'd been able to successfully cast this year on two hands. It might have worked for her the last time she thought she was in danger, but she could not risk failure when Finn was bleeding out in front of them. She called out to Astra and Elisa, whichever of them could hear her and was in a state to act on her words, "Red Sparks! Cast Periculum!" She couldn't see the snake coming up behind them that heralded help already on the way, but as she was unfamiliar with whom it belonged to, it likely wouldn't have brought her much comfort anyway.
"Finnegan, can you hear me? What's happened?" If she could get the space and opening to do so, she would reach her hands out towards where the blood seemed to be originating from, looking for the wound. What she was intending to do if she located it she didn't know, the first aid lessons she'd taken with her mum having been rudimentary at best, but the idea of standing there and doing nothing was intolerable. She knew the blond boy was just as scared as she was, but he and his comfort object were pressed too tightly against Finn to see what dwelled behind. She reached for the bear, attempting to move it aside.
Action: Attempting to move the bear out of the way. I leave it up to mods interpretation whether, if she is successful, she moves the bear out of the way and can see the knife, or if the knife is pulled out entirely.OPEN to interactions with anyone I've interacted with IC before and/or official NPCs/event organizers. Magical Masquerade: The entrance

Delirium.
The word is delirium.
You know when something hits you hard in between your ribs, you try to catch some air as it seems the lungs stopped working? So that was what happened to her, when she saw Jack attempting to attack Pericles. The one, who should've listened to don'ts when they are called out. In the next second she saw a violent attack preceding her own cast and Pericles throwing the hand towards his head. It was done. She was late. She thought it as her Levioso pulled Jack up into the air. If there's just one casualty, the battle is lost. Her heart started skipping the beat as the "hit" landed into her chest, stealing all air from it. She tried to maintain the spell, while she could, but it was hard. Damn, it was hard.
The sudden scream from a Gryffindor boy to the side of the gore scene, shifted her airless mind towards itself, which revealed an embrace of two boys, one being a younger Athanatos. She wouldn't know, as she just couldn't. Yet. Her legs were failing as well.
Her wand was still pointed at Vladimir, and even though she heard his reply, it didn't quite imprint in her memory as the next set of events washed it out completely. That was why she did not attempt to bind him down when he moved, as she had planned to. He wasn't quite a target that should be allowed to roam freely. But the world was again crushing right beneath her feet.
"You cannot save them all," one of the four voices spoken inside her head, "You just can not."
She returned her gaze to airborne Jack in violent convulsions, trying to keep him there as much as possible. She noticed Pericles being helped by several people, but deep inside she knew that this was an irreversible moment — "before" and "after". As she noticed Vladimir approaching Jack, her other hand slowly descended to her thigh, powerlessly understanding that there was nothing much to do at that exact moment. She started to move closer as well, following Vladimir's steps to make sure she could do something if it would be needed.
Action: looking around cautious, no direct action (besides maintaining her current spell).

Magical Masquerade: The entrance
Astra's dark eyes lit on Finn's in a moment of perfect clarity. It was as if time slowed to allow her to see the pure horror under the thin veil of pain in those brown irises.
The same horror that radiated from her countenance for a second time.
Astra knew, in no conscious way, that this was what true empathy was. The deep, intimate knowledge of what another was experiencing on a base level; a connection that transcended whatever differences or animosity those involved had. Astra could almost see the connection building between her and Finn, the blocks locking their fear for his life together, branching into the past, to October.
In an instant, in a flash, she could hear again. The muffling was no longer there, she no longer felt so small, so helpless.
Finnegan, despite their odd interactions and slightly problematic history, was a person. He deserved to live. To be anywhere but here, his flesh remained un-split by the blade in his gut. The next best action was to get any innocents not caught up in either the Stabbing or whatever the hell was going on with the Digger and elder years. And then, she'd have to come up with something for the problem of the Oddity himself.
"How has all this happened on a day like this?!" Elisa exclaimed, the blonde suddenly right next to Astra. The redheaded snake turned her gaze to the other, wiping her eyes with the heel of her free hand. "I don't know, but you need to leave. Get any bystanders you can and go somewhere safe. Anywhere but here," Astra would command in a hoarse voice. She then used her free hand to push Elisa lightly away, towards the boy she'd dragged with her.
The golden boy squeaked out his accusation, and Astra felt her blood begin to boil. Fear paused, grief held at bay by a hastily constructed levee, her temper remained unquenched by tears. "You filthy liar," she spat, wand in her wavering hand still trained on him. "Your hand guided the blade, and you will pay for your sin."
Her head jerked towards Bex. Admittedly, they weren't the closest, but, as the trend seemed to go, they'd reached a middle ground on their differences and formed a hopeful alliance. Truly, now that the months had passed without their petty rivalry, Astra couldn't quite excuse the months of animosity. Bex should've been someone she liked right away, stickler for rules aside.
But, I digress. Now Bex was in the thick of the Oddity and Finn's space, dangerously near the knife. "Bex, be careful! He's got a knife," she warned.
Periculum was a good idea. She'd cast that last time, hadn't she? It didn't bring any adults, but maybe... It was better to do than to not, so she angled her wand towards the sky and cast "Periculum!"
Her heart had not seemed to slow, her breath still seemed too fast, but the desperation in her gaze had been replaced by a blue flame of determination.
I survived last time. I can survive again. We can survive again.

Magical Masquerade: The entrance
Botan smiled as he heard the girl's response. It wasn't a big smile, just a little sly lift at the corner of his mouth. He watched the girl glance around and look at him. Just as she asked if they should go, a scream erupted from behind him. He whipped around and his mouth dropped open.
What he hadn’t seen was an older boy from Hogwarts Jack Warren had jumped and attacked another boy Perciles Dralt. He also did not see Gideon Athanatos, who he did not know, attack another person he did not know, Finnegan Connor.
What he did see was a boy he did not know, Jack Warren grasping his wand and stabbing it into who he would soon find out was Perciles’ eye. Instinctively, Botan took a step back into his now date, Reyna Evergreen. Turning to apologize, “Sorry…” He missed the third boy, Piérre’s arrival. What he did see was him separating the two and a girl Evelynn separating them.
Botan adjusted himself to cover his date better, instinctively protecting her without even thinking about it. His eyes were glued on the scene, as he realized Jack was unwell. He was blood thirsty, which Botan had never seen in person. Hoping he wouldn’t have to step in, he watched as a girl he recognized from a Quidditch match ran and tried to help, but she fell in the grass nearby.
Jack then went to attack the nearest person, which was Piérre, but nearly missed his head.
“This is not good. Let's go.” Botan said aloud to his date. Deep down he did want to go, but he could not peel his eyes away. He stood still watching the scene continue to unfold. Jack dropped the wand, and suddenly began to freeze and rise in the air. Botan would later find out that it was because the spell levioso had been cast on him.

Magical Masquerade: The entrance
post 1| post 2
Dashing... The young teen chuckled nervously, his hands moving to to try to flatten out any wrinkles on his clothing. She jokingly offered to spin to be admired more; she admitted with her heels she'd probably trip over her own feet. “If you did it yourself maybe,” his reply instantaneous. With a hum he looked up from her heels to meet her eyes, “If someone helped you spin, you'd be fine.” He smiled and his eyes seemed to glint; he wondered if Dealla knew how to dance. Out of everything they could do, letting loose and dancing sounded nice; they were very few balls he'd been too where he actually had the opportunity to dance. Dealla joked that she'd be his crutch tonight. He nodded “Don't worry about the heels. I've got you.” He'd keep her from falling. He couldn't imagine how hard it was to walk in those heels. As his mind wandered he asked Dealla about the ball and apologized for if he had let her sit by herself too long.
Dealla had only arrived recently. She knew as much as Alec did about what was going on. “Hm” he paused reflectively. Next came the joltingly loud sound of a howler. With the speed at which Alec turned his head one would almost think that it was meant for him. A key had been found? Some sort of scavenger hunt? Is that why they been looking through the bushes? The doors swung open and kids clambered to get through the entrance, streaming into the quidditch pitch.
Dealla said it was one mystery solved; Alec laughed and nodded. Dealla slipped her hand around the crook of his elbow. She asked if he was ready to head in. He looked from her, the door. He was as ready as he'd ever be. He tried to project more confidence than he had in that moment “Yeah, let's do-” Alec's head turned to the sound of shouting. Dealla too, was alarmed. She asked Alec to stay with her “Of course,” he had no clue what was going on, whatever it was she wouldn't be facing it alone.
Alec ran with her, if he arm was still wrapped around the crook of his elbow, he would do his best to help support her, while they got over there. If not, he ran with her, and watched closely twist an ankle or topple over herself. Dealla stopped abruptly, Alec halted a few steps ahead of her. This being the point where he'd let go if she'd still been holding onto him for support. The sight of Jack made Alec's skin crawl. A feeling of unease settling over Alec; it wasn't just the violent outburst. It was something else. There was more to it; simmering under the surface. Alec didn't know what but there was something very wrong with Jack. It seemed everybody else saw it coming before Pericles did. Alec realized what was happening too late... He grimaced at the sight, face contorting. Though Pericles did his best to cover to injury, it was clearly very bad.
Jack was incapacitated for now, Alec didn't know how long that would last. In all this there was something else in the back of his mind. It all felt like some sort of trap, a distraction. Alec pushed the feeling away. “Pericles,”@Pericles Dralt despite his most recent sightings of the other, Alec didn't know him that well; even so he felt like he owed it to the other to make sure he was okay. Alec stood there- his own body betraying once more, paralyzed to inaction. If he had stepped in the way multiple other people had tried, maybe it would have been fine.
Alec reached for Dealla's hand without thinking, he looked back at Dealla, “Come with me?” He'd nod hurriedly toward Pericles as if he hadn't already said the other's name. He had little doubt in his mind that she would agree, still, he found himself set on heading towards Pericles even if Dealla chose not to come with him.
Rushing towards Pericles, Alec cut his way around the crowd. He came to a halt at his side, shoes digging in the dirt at his sudden stop. Percival looked unwell, as if he were about two seconds from passing out. If he allowed, Alec would put a hand on Pericles's arm to help steady him. Alec made a face, grimacing at the state Percival was in, “How bad it is?” He didn't know why he was asking; he didn't expect Pericles to muster up the energy for a response. To think Alec had thought he had traumatic ball experiences, this whole situation was a different beast entirely. “I- er If you move your hand maybe I could try to cast something else to help.”(If Pericles lets Alec try to help heal him, I'll have Alec cast episkey in my next post. silently hoping dealla ill get to casting something first instead of alec xD) He wondered if a healing charm like Episkey would actually be able to do anything. It was meant for minor injuries wasn't it? This didn't seem minor.
“I don't get it... ” Alec muttered, eyes drifting off Pericles, “he came at you so aggressively.” Alec talking to himself at this point. He looked back to where Jack was apprehended in the air. Down to where he'd been digging. Alec's first thought was to foolishly assume Jack was digging for the sake of digging- maybe he'd been having a bit of a mental breakdown and that's what was to come of it. It was... plausible? Look, it didn't matter; there were only a few ways in which Alec could rationalize it- The point was this: Vladimir was at Jack's digging site, and he was looking around in the dirt for something?
Alec looked past Vladimir, looking back towards where Jack was still floating up in air and the wand that lay on the ground. That spell wasn't going to last forever. Alec wanted to make sure that if they weren't able to hold him off, at the very least he wouldn't be able get ahold of his wand it'd be harder to do more damage. Alec turned towards Pericles, “sit tight.” If Dealla had come with him he'd direct his attention towards her. “Make sure he's okay for me?” He nodded towards Jack, “I'm gonna grab the wand quickly.”
Walking up closer to get to where Jack and his wand below on the ground, he recognized that was the easy part. He'd been pretty close by after he'd rushed up to Pericles. The real trouble was going to be trying to grab the wand. He needed to maneuver and get to it before Jack, or @Piérre Marchonné got to it. Presumably Piérre had a target on his back, after the whole tussle with Jack trying to hold him off; Alec reasoned if was better he had the wand than Piérre in case Jack tried to look for it The faster he picked up and pocketed the wand; the sooner he could get back to Pericles.
If Jack somehow got out of the hold of the spells holding him up in the air now. He'd have been too distracted earlier to have noticed Alec grabbing it in all the commotion.

Magical Masquerade: The entrance
As soon as Shimizu untied the string of his mask and removed it, revealing his face, Ying's smile became more evident and her equally dark eyes gained a gleam of mischief. She was right, her guess was correct, he had in fact been part of Mahoutokoro's quidditch team at the last summer camp. Truth be told, he hadn't been the one who had hit her with that strong bludger blow, nor had he been the one who had pushed her off her broom, but being from the same team made him somehow a complicit and so, he was also a culprit of the scariest moment in her very young life.Open to Interactions
But before she had the opportunity to throw a clever retort or a more insidious joke into the matter, Akira's words stopped her before she could utter a single word. Her expression slowly changed into a mix of surprise and disappointment, as if he had taken away her favorite ice cream as soon as she was about to taste her first bite. Shimizu's dark gaze was borne with steel, cold seriousness, and a sincerity so honest that for a moment he reminded her of her older brother. The way he had so easily admitted the faults made by his team, the way he said it as an apology, stripped her of the desire to be sarcastic and she almost felt robbed again, if it weren't for the compliment he had ended up giving her as his last comment about the passed event. It forced her to have to control the presumptuous smile that trembled and threatened to appear on her lips, as she did her best to turn it into a humble sign of shyness. Ying glanced briefly to the side to gather her composure before answering, looking back at him, "No, I'm actually a broom racer." she informed with a bright smile that reached her eyes, an expression that was inevitable as she spoke about what was one of her great passions, "I'm co-captain of the Gryffindor team, actually." She added happily. And perhaps failing in her attempt to hide the fact that she was bragging a little! "Beatrice is the real Quidditch player!" Ying informed him showing her pride on her friend. "What about you? Do you play Quidditch, or are you part of a different team at your school?" She asked with honest curiosity.
When Beatrice questioned the boy about his experience attending Mahoutokoro, Ying found herself paying full attention to Akira's response. In reality, it was purely by mere chance that she hadn't gone to study there instead of Hogwarts, and she had always felt curious about visiting the Japanese school of magic. Her attention only diverted from him when Beatrice commented about the arising conflict, that until then had passed unnoticed to the raven haired girl. Ying, who had her back turned to the commotion, turned around looking at the group of students gathered at a relative distance from them. Her eyes narrowed with a slight frown, while her ebony brown eyes tried to distinguish what was going on and who were the people involved in the disarray that was forming. The young Gryffindor managed to make out the silhouettes of some of the participants recognising them, but it was not easy to understand what was really happening, just that whatever it was it seemed serious, to not mention dangerous, as every conflict in a ball turned always to be. Ying considered what to do, on the one hand she felt curiosity hitting at her, but on the other... there were already people perfectly capable of resolving the matter on site and she would be just one more person to make their job even more difficult and it would be just out of pure gossip...that would be shameful, to not say unnecessary and childish. "I think you're right Mr. Shimizu." She ended up confessing, casting an empathetic look at Beatrice, who perhaps being a Slytherin prefect made her feel obligated to intervene, "There are adults there Bea, maybe we should stay away for now? I honestly don't know how we could even help...whatever is going on there!" She told her in a friendly tone of voice, giving her a small but honest smile, placing her hand on her friend's shoulder in a comforting and caring way. If she was to confess the truth though, she didn't want her best friend involved in something that, from what her ears could hear, would put her walking towards a very unsafe and perilous situation. She would definitely not encourage that!
"What if we go to eat or drink something?" She asked enthusiastically, turning again, looking from Beatrice to Akira, trying to change the subject and shake off that tension that had set in after the realization of what was emerging just a few meters from the place where they were standing by the rose bushes. After all, this was supposed to be a time of celebration and conviviality between old and new friends, right?

Botan watched me for a second and he shyly smiled, but then he suddenly whipped around as he heard a scream. I had heard it too. What was going on? I took a step to the side. I had no want to be a part of this, we had to leave and fast or else things were going to get nasty. I recognized a lot of the students as Hogwarts students who were much older than me.
Soon the boy, whose name I remembered was trying to hit other people. And then, suddenly he was floating in the air. What? Reyna shook her head moving closer to Botan who had moved closer to her. I nodded my head to Botan. "Yes, we should leave, I really don't feel like getting killed today!" I replied.
By now, most of the crowd that there had been when the clue had just been said was gone but there were a few lingerers. Well, quite a few, considering the people apart of the nasty and strange digging thing which had ended up in quite some people getting hurt.
Of course what could you expect with so many people at a ball. There was always some main event and bad thing that happened and I had no want to be a part of it right now. I just wanted to enjoy my time with Botan, my new found date. Especially since I had not been able to attend the fall ball as I had been sick.
