Here!
Spooning the soup into her mouth, Bailey was happy. The food was good, she had a date, there were friends all around her, and James…. What did he just say? Something… oh of course. He said that we will go to the craft table and then to dance. Internally critiquing herself for not listening better, Bailey served herself a second bowl of soup.
After finishing yet another bowl of soup, James sighed. Was he getting impatient?? Hopefully he was not, but still. Bailey finished her bowl of soup and got up. Folding her napkin, she placed it by her now empty bowl of soup.
Looking around, Bailey tried to figure out where the craft able was. “Um… do you know where the craft table is?” Bailey asked James. He really looked good, in his peach shirt that matched her dress. Honestly, he was really cute too. His brown hair was wavy as usual and complemented his pale skin and pretty brown eyes.
Before thinking about what she was about to say, Bailey said “You know… your eyes are really pretty. And you are cute too..”
Realizing what she had just said, Bailey blushed really hard and looked down at her heels. Hopefully she had not just scared away James. It would be a shame to scare off the first person she actually liked. She had feelings for James that she had never experienced before; was it love? Not wanting to be to hasty, Bailey had resolved not to say anything, but her big mouth had spoiled that plan.

James watched as Bailey finished her bowl and folded her napkin and placed it next to it. She stood asking him where the crafting table was. "I do believe it's out in the courtyard. Let's go there first and then come back here to dance." James stood up straightening his vest as he did so. He had spooned himself a small bowl of soup which was only three fourths eaten. He wasn't very hungry but didn't want to waste it. He bent down quickly spooning the rest of into his mouth.

He looked around trying to find the best exit to get to the courtyard. That's when he heard what Bailey said. She had complimented his eyes and then mentioned that he was cute. Did I hear her correctly? James looked to her. She was looking down at her heels with a reddened face. Apparently I did hear her correctly judging on her reaction. James smiled with a slight blush across his cheeks. He stepped over to Bailey and held her hand interlacing their fingers.

"Thank you. You are quite beautiful yourself, especially tonight." James tilted her head up slightly unsure of whether he wanted to continue with this plan or not. He decided to just go for it and planted a gentle kiss upon her cheek. " I'm very glad I get to spend this night with you. Now, let us go and make some flower crowns shall we?"

Roleplaying as Akira Shimizu from Mahoutokoro
Outfit: x
'The boy who stole his heart'? What kind of game was Bakugo playing here? He narrowed his eyes at the boy to show his disapproval as blatantly as possible, before he was dragged towards a sign-up table where Bakugo cheerily wrote down their names. "Don't worry, dear. I'll protect your beautiful skin from getting marred. You just focus on winning the game." Akira rolled his eyes. Merlin, was this boy a pain. "Well, you better keep your word, then. Because I don't like to lose," Akira, who was ever-proud, muttered back at him. If he lost, he would one hundred percent blame it on Bakugo. "And if there's any chance that I can win the the game instead of saving you, I'll do it. Full disclosure," he said plainly and simply, non-plussed. Hell, he didn't even know how this game worked, but he was confident enough in his own abilities that it probably wouldn't be a big deal.

There was an obvious air of tension between Puraido-senpai and Harper-san, but he could tell that his senpai was trying to keep it together in front of himself and Bakugo for the moment. Perhaps they were a former couple, or one that fought incessantly? He didn't take Puraido-senpai to be the type to care for anything at all -- the tall, reclusive boy didn't seem to care for human interactions at Mahoutokoro, after all. It was very different seeing him in the midst of an argument -- one that was able to stimulate his emotions enough that he would admit to finding his return to Hogwarts unenjoyable. "Ah...I see, my condolences," Akira would respond briefly, and hopefully palliatively, all the while keeping a careful eye on the two, not quite eager to get involved should a brawl spring forth. He considered reminding his senpai of their headmistress' orders to remain quiet and inconspicuous; however, considering the current circumstances, it might only add fuel to the fire due to poor timing. "I hope any disputes will get resolved quickly, so you can enjoy the ball, Puraido-senpai," he added -- a subtle, respectful reminder to find a resolution discreetly; one that would not put himself in the line of fire.

It seemed that Harper-san had begun to cry. Akira watched, aghast. Was she really willing to make this such a public display, with many foreign students, fellow acquaintances, and Hogwarts staff as potential onlookers? He almost admired her for her courage. She admitted to dressing up Bakugo-san, through tears. However, before Akira could respond with further questions, his senpai had cast a Diffindo that sliced through Bakugo's gown. Akira almost drew his own wand, but saw that Bakugo was not the target of the attack, only the dress. He released his grip on the aspen wood quickly, knowing that drawing his wand against an upperclassman should not be a part of his reputation.

As expected, Bakugo reacted in shock, though he seemingly teased Puraido-senpai for his supposedly lewd behavior. Akira let out a breath of exasperation. "And I am not your date, Bakugo; keep dreaming," he repeated sternly. It was fifteen minutes into the ball and already met with so many obstacles. His mind was already made up for a swift exit.

"So sorry about your gown, Harper-san," he began, choosing not to comment on his senpai's indiscretion, and focusing on the girl's loss instead. "Bakugo-san will get this fixed for you," he said sternly, giving the pink-haired boy a pointed look, but realizing that he himself might have to fix it instead, given his superior wandwork. For all he knew, Harper's dress might come back to her burnt to a crisp if Bakugo attempted to repair it. "And he should get changed into more appropriate clothing," he added, finding an excuse for himself to part ways as well. "Please excuse us, and enjoy your evening," he added politely, fully expecting them to end up having a terrible night together, by the look of things. With that, he made a small, swift bow, and grabbed Bakugo by the shoulder to steer him away before he could get himself into more trouble.

Action: Exiting the thread unless stopped.

Oh ho! Bold words.

Oh I dare,” he threatened cheerfully. As if to make a point even going so far as to stick out his tongue and lean forward menacingly towards the hand trying to pluck at his rightful crown. The audacity!

If she cowered or screamed at the threat he'd quickly take the opportunity to flee towards one of the empty tables void of people and not meant for any dishes, fleeing to the opposite side until the table lay between the two of them in some mock of a barrier. If she didn't, still aiming for the accessory despite his threats it would result in an outraged squawk as she called his bluff. The Gryffindor would of course still end up in the same spot, dropping his bag and sliding it out of the way under the table with a foot to raise his hands in a placating manner and speaking in an exaggerated drawl as if negotiating with some great enemy. In a way he was. “I propose a trade.

You want the crown, I want the crown, everyone wants the crown.” And by everyone he meant them, plus maybe kitty. But that wasn't the point! “But there's only one crown, so obviously one of us has to perish.

He paused, “Or!” he waved a hand to punctuate the offer, “or I graciously allow you to borrow it for the small, small price of…” Hnn.

What was a good trade?

He looked around, very obviously stalling for time until his eyes landed on the game sign ups, perfect. “I'll hark over the crown if you sign up for flying torch tag,” he cooed at the other, giggling like a brat as he fiddled with the accessory on his ‘safe’ spot opposite the Hufflepuff. The boy was mostly just teasing her and it was obvious, not really expecting her to take the bait or his offer seriously. If she refused? He'd drop it, after a bit of ribbing, even let her wear the shiny tiara every other song or so before snatching back. Not without some whining and dramatics of course, such was only to be expected between them after all.

Of course if the butterfly princess is above things like tag, deadly sport really,” he teased eyeing the rooms occupants and stellar decorations, plenty were already dancing just like plenty were off on the side lines, “It'd be my honor to step on your toes- I mean, dance.”He hid a smirk behind his hand with a fake cough, obviously just being a brat.

Yes…Dance.

Granted, if they went through with the playful wager from before it might be less of a joke and more of a very real warning. Elsian didn't care what she said, if the heels went on either he was twisting an ankle or some poor sop was breaking his fall. The boy had zero balance in the things!

He’d stick with his red converse, thanks.

Bag? Check, Earrings? Check, Wand? Check. Alright, that should be it. All things are perfectly placed as they should be. Pea just finished hours of dressing up for the ball and it's all 100% worth it. She looks incandescently gorgeous, with her white glittering dress that has leaf' details falling from the bust onto the skirt. She also wears a pair of gloves decored with feathers along its ends which positively looks like birds have been perched along her two hands.

-Wait, something is missing.

Oh right, her most famed possession, Birkin. No- not the luxurious brand bag, she's talking about her most exquisite pet lizard. This is the first time Birkin made his debut to the public, which is quite exciting for her. Pea put down her right hand unto Birkin's glass terrarium, as the creature crawl very excitedly unto Pea's shoulder. It has become quite fond of her, which is not surprising, the creature has rather grown attached to Pea immediately right after she adopted it. But Birkin has been a little picky about people he likes or dislikes, which makes her very interested in Birkin's opinion about her.... date to the ball.

Yes- that boy, Hanako Tone, the older Slytherin boy who asked her to the ball with a howler.

A. how. ler. -let that sink in.

Why on earth did she agree to this arrangement. That boy has done nothing but infuriates her. But he, of course, most probably have fallen head over heels for her from the moment that he laid his eyes on her white gleamed hair. but Pea- she felt nothing of that sort to that shorty. She could not imagine what would Cash say if they saw the two of them together- ugh- the horror- she could already imagine the utter disgust on their face.

But Thank God he has been obedient enough as to hear her much insightful talk on what he should wear, which she HOPES, that he would obey her and wear something that is positively agreeable to her standard.

Sighs- alright- It's just for one night,I might not regret this. She thought but definitely doubtful.

After taking a final look at the mirror to admire herself, she steps out of her dormitory, meeting Hana at their agreed meeting spot. She knows she is a little late from their agreed time, but then again, perfection requires time. He just needs to deal with it.

She finally saw the boy standing right at their meeting spot. Good, she might be late, but if she were the one that has to do the waiting, Hana would definitely never hear the end of it. But she's glad that Hana actually listened to her suggestions and wear one of the suits she recommended, which is a huge sign of relief for her. Imagine if he wears some ridiculous outfit! or worse, cheap suits! Eugh she would 100% stood him up.

She finally approaches Hana confidently, and as Hana looks at her, She twirled to show Hana her whole look.

"I know, I look amazing."

"Save me the effort of pissing you both off and dance or something." Wait- what?! Serena's eyes widened a little. Dance with Howard?! There was a flip in her stomach at the thought of it. She did enjoy dancing and if she was truly honest, she would have loved to dance with him. But she did not want to ask him. The issue was that it was just so hard to be platonic around him when she felt something more. A part of her wondered if Erin would actually keep pissing her off until she agreed. That part was just a joke, right? It had to be! Right? Maybe she should just ask Howard to dance so Erin did not do anything worse than what was already happening but... Arghh, this was difficult.

"Wh- Erin wai-" She sighed as she saw Erin's back before she even had a chance to speak up. Where was she going? And play with something? Serena stared after her, wondering if she was okay. 'Play with something' did not sound like she needed assistance but she was worried about Erin, after the brief conversation they had. It was definitely brief but there was a depth to it that she wanted to understand. Casual comments were made by Erin that felt Serena with this nagging feeling to check on her or make sure she was okay. Perhaps a part of her just wanted to give her a hug but another part seemed to be able to relate a little. She stared after her, wondering what she should do. For now, it seemed best to let her go. There was no way she could drag up such a deep conversation in front of everyone again.

Howard's compliment on her appearance was definitely lost on her. Her self-confidence was far too low to believe it was anything more than being polite. However, it caused her to turn back and focus on the pair who had stayed. Ahem. Right. This was awkward and quiet. Annnyyyyywaaaayyyy. "Hey buddy," She whispered softly as she gave him a gentle head bump with a tilt of her head as he hit her shoulder. If nothing else, the fluffy puff definitely made her feel more at ease. Pets usually had that effect on her.

She smile weakly towards Howard and Bloom, who was attempting to make conversation with her. Right, yeah, she probably should have stopped Erin from shoving food at his face. Moving the box towards Bloom, she held them out in case the girl wanted one as she claimed they looked delicious. A part of her was definitely glad that her friend was here to bail her out when she did something stupid, which was probably everything she did.

She sort of pointed behind her to the table so she could leave for a moment, just catch her breath but she realised that she said she would give Gary food... which meant she had to return anyway. So, perhaps it was fine if they all just went. Maybe that would be better, actually. Would at least mean she did not have to awkwardly return. But she probably would prefer just a moment to catch her breath. Honestly, she could deal with the whole thing if she was somewhat prepared. Being dragged into the situation was not what she expected.

"Yeah uh, sorry- about that. I didn't quiet uh, yanno, expect her to do that," She mumbled to Howard in regards to Erin, deciding she ought to apologise for the entire situation. Scratching the back of her neck in awkwardness, "Oh sho- sorry bud," She mumbled as she tilted her head a little to allow Pizza to climb back onto her other shoulder as she accidentally almost hit him off in her awkwardness. Right. She really needed to calm the hell down. She could not have Pizza getting hurt because of her foolishness.

Serena opened her mouth to say that they could go together, sure, "We can- oh- uh-" She immediately stopped as she heard Bloom excusing herself. Wait, what?! Why was she leaving her alone in this mess? She stared at her, as she excused herself very unsubtly. What did 'over there' even mean?! Ahhhhh, this was so bad. This looked so planned. It was not but the way Erin dragged her in and then both people promptly found terrible excuses to leave made it look like she frickin' planned this or something.

What the heck was she supposed to do? She stared at Bloom and Howard, not entirely sure what she was supposed to do now. She could not leave alone as she had originally planned. Nor could she chase after either of the girls. So she just stood there, kind of confused as to what the heck had happened. All she wanted was to talk to Erin who was off to the side by herself when she entered... How was it shaping up to be... whatever this was?

Soon, Juniper found herself closely inspecting some food. She wanted to trust what they sold here, but... after the Valentine's day tea party she wasn't sure if the food here was okay.
There seemed to be something about poising students at events... whatever this school found entertaining. Juniper picked a small treat up that she believed she recognized, lifting it to her nose carefully to smell for anything strange. She had learned what the love spell smelled like, and it didn't smell like this. She carefully took a bite and chewed slowly, surveying the hall. People mingled and chattered happily, yet still no sign of Draven. From around the room, Juniper could spot people she both liked and disliked. In one part of the room was Henry Knight, looking as awkward as ever. She smiled slightly, knowing how anxious the poor third year was. And no wonder, too. He held a pretty big secret. She decided not to wave hi since he looked pretty busy, maybe she'll say hi later. She couldn't tell if the fact that there was a healing station made her feel better or worse about this.

Usually, Juniper tries to talk to everyone at a party. But this room was crowded and full of weirdos. Very weird kids who tried to get people to like them or try and make them seem cool. She just didn't feel like Putting up with trying to converse with weird strangers. She was much better over here, with the snacks, waiting for her date. Boyfriend. boyfriend. It has been... what? About a month, right? Juniper was still getting used to calling Draven her boyfriend, it felt too good to be true. But everything was great with them, they were perfect for each other.

Speaking of Draven, he was quite the stealthy kid. She didn't notice him until he was right by her side, complimenting her. She grinned instantly and glanced at her outfit. "You think so? I wasn't too sure, if I'm honest. Do you think the doc martens look awful with the dress? I didn't really want to wear heels because- ew." She hugged him warmly, careful not to wrinkle his suit. "And you- Dray- look amazing as usual." She watched him pull a flower out and felt a little flutter in her chest.

Juniper loved flowers, they were so happy. So colorful. She happily took it and gazed at it. "Its beautiful, thank you. I love all flowers." She twirled it in her hand and glanced up at him again. "There's no way- You grew again, didn't you?" She couldn't keep up with his rapid height growth, especially as a part-goblin. "Last time- I was up to here on y-" A movement.

She squinted and noticed two hairy legs peeking from his outfit. "Draven." She said slowly, trying to sound calm. She never knew he had a spider as a pet, and she wasn't a fan of them. "What is that?!"

Copper light peeped through curtains, splattering onto the cold floor of a female Gryffindor dormitory. The waning fragments of day pooled there, warming the spot of floorboard it touched. The room was nearly vacant by now. Most of the girls had left to get to the ball early. Yes, another ball. It wasn't a surprising thing anymore. After five (perhaps more?) years and counting, the biannual events were expected by now. As was the tragedy that often followed. Xailah sat perched at the windows ledge, and watched the sun dip behind an erect tower. She was gathering her thoughts and composure- preparing herself, almost- flipping through the worst possible scenarios that could happen, while hoping for the best. She remained in that fixated, sphinx-like position for some time; her nerves drowning with the setting sun. She would move eventually- when she was ready- and shut the curtains; leaving herself and any remaining dorm mates, in the glow of hazy candlelight.

Twilight hues cascaded down the darkling's slender form, and curvy frame. The gown she had been preparing for the evening was a far cry from her typical shapely, Victorian attire. While the dress still hugged, it flowed a little freely as it tapered towards the floor. Xailah was trying to stay within the realm of the theme selected for the ball; while retaining some level of personalization that made her outfits... her outfits. It was worth noting that she had not opted for a classic black color for her ensemble; but rather a shimmering aubergine shade, so that her gown would darken along with the sky. As the sun set, the purple would fade into a deeper hue, and then eventually all would become black. It was perhaps, a symbolic display. Though, more likely, an effort to once again go all out- challenge herself into making more complex designs- tiptoe out of her comfort zone. If she had to dress to impress, then she was going to impress.

Having the event take place in the Great Hall, rather than the ballroom (which was the usual pick), was a refreshing choice. Although, it was admittedly very strange to see so many people in the place, dressed as if they were going to some haughty dinner party. But, that element of strangeness was somewhat endearing, and overall, quite funny. It was the equivalent to dressing up for a visit to the school cafeteria. Odd, very, but a little charming.

Xailah had taken her own sweet time to depart from her quarters (she had to reassure Schrödinger that she would be back at a reasonable hour), resulting in a somewhat late arrival to the bustling scene. "Late" meaning she had appeared, not first, but rather precisely when she had meant to. Trouble had already started, as could be seen with a food fight that was presently being battled out at a nearby table. Some ape-ish boy had gone complete Tarzan on a poor girl. Xailah passed by, making sure not to make eye contact with any of the students involved- they would have probably taken such a gesture as a threat. There were some things just... not worth getting involved in. If she had to be honest though, the food throwing was a nice change from fists, spells... sharpened projectiles, their own bodies- the usual things children tried to toss at each other during festivities. Rather bad that was a thought that traversed her mind, but was she wrong? Not really. The Gryffindor, after a few minutes of wandering, would find a safe spot at a table away from the culinary battleground. Her drifting, golden leer dropped to the tablecloth, looking between the dishes that decorated it surface. While it might have appeared as if she was eyeing the goods; someone familiar with the searching gaze would have known she sought out something more. Something shiny. Perhaps a nice bit of silverware, or a lost trinket. She was going back to basics- an inevitable cycle for kleptomaniacs, in search of a feeling of familiarity.
Entering, hanging out by a table in search for small shinies she can pocket. Cat's Grace is in effect.

Emma smiled, although she knew it was likely to be slightly awkward as a voice called out to Trix and she didn’t know them. But she was determined to expand her comfort zone. Otherwise she’d never make more friends. Taking a moment, she realized that Trix was still staring at the other person. Her grin became a bit more comfortable as she thought she had an idea why. Although she could be wrong. After all she was far from an expert and mostly this scenario had been in several of the books she had read.

She stood there, not feeling quite brave enough to introduce herself, but at least she hadn’t walked away. That was a good thing. Nodding, she waved in Mandy’s direction. ”Hullo, It’s nice to meet you! I’ve heard lots of good things.” She hadn’t, but the little lie wouldn’t do anything horrible. Well unless they asked what things, and then that might be an awkward situation but it would be fine. She could figure it out. Everything would be fine.

But she was soon distracted by someone calling out her name. Looking over her shoulder, she saw it was Henry. Waving at him, she called out, ”Hey! Looks like everything’s going well!” She then turned back to Mandy and Trix, only to realize that someone else had joined them. She missed their name but caught their pronouns but stood quietly by until they left.

Emma joined Trix in giggling at the sound of her stomach. ”I haven’t, not yet. I was too busy running around and I skipped lunch as well. Now that it seems things are going fine, and people have started bringing dishes, it seems like the right time. See anything you must have? I don’t know where to start.” Emma laughed as she looked at the table that looked fuller than she had thought it would be. But she was glad. After all, now that she thought of it, she was starving. Following Trix, she took a spoonful from several dishes but also stayed away from a few. ”What did you bring? I’d like to try some before I get too full.” Emma asked Trix, looking curiously at each dish as if she could tell just by examining them which was Trix’s.

"We will make the best of it." It wasn't just a promise to her lovely companion as Ivy Bellamy and Evelynn Decipio crossed the threshold of the entrance into the Great Hall, but also to herself.

The balls had, not to be entirely dramatic, been a series of unfortunate events that led only to raging infernos of a disaster. This one would be different. Well, perhaps it wouldn't be, but Evelynn was determined to see it otherwise. Perhaps it was a touch wishful thinking, but the aura of dread that generally blanketed the halls of the school had been lifting. Sure, there had been a slug appearance even as recently as the Valentine's Tea, but that seemed to pale in comparison to the usual ceaseless onslaught of chaos and danger. A relative calm had befallen Hogwarts, and for once, the Gryffindor prefect didn't feel completely compelled to abandon all notion of relaxation and enjoyment in favour of vigilance and protection of her peers.

Granted, neither did that make her wholly ignorant. Intuitively, she knew—or thought she knew, at the very least—that events were stewing and simmering between the lines of the latest Daily Prophet issues. But that only served to fuel her desire to approach this occasion with a desire to let her hair down. So to speak. It certainly did not hang loosely about her shoulders, but had rather been done into an elegantly braided knot at the back of her neck with not a hair out of line thanks to a newly acquired enchanted hair pin. At the risk of being unprepared, she had left her usual duffle behind. Even her feet had forsaken boots in favour of sparkling ballet flats to match the richly coloured navy fabrics of her flowing gown. Sequins dotted the chiffon in opalescent colours that hinted at pale yellows and oranges, like sparks of a flame on a twilit night sky.

"Well..." she continued, lips pursed in veiled disdain as she referenced an earlier point of contention she had shared about a certain ex-Quidditch Captain trying to distract her to the point of failure while she attempted to complete the bridge crossing challenge during the Blossom Ball of the previous year. "Provided he does not again attempt to interfere with any of my endeavours."

And if D'Spacito did show his face? Well, she hadn't come to the ball completely unprepared. Her wand was nestled securely in a protective sheath strapped to her leg hidden beneath her gown.

As the pair entered properly into the Great Hall, Evelynn was not afforded much time to get a good look. She had barely taken stock of the healer's tent (a thoughtful touch) and a number of familiar faces (including the shockingly healthy looking Ryan whose understatedly elegant appearance dashed every previous image of her that Evelynn had ever had and challenged her understanding of the Slytherin beater) when she was forced to pause her stride to avoid an arcing edible. Brows lofting in surprise as her attention reeled itself in to the threat at hand, Evelynn grabbed hold of Bellamy's elbow and began steering her on a path to exit as quickly as they had come. They had not just spent the better part of an afternoon helping each other to dress and tactfully apply their make-up only to have the night spoiled by flying food.

"I am quite sure I saw a professor or two," Evelynn commented hastily before adding a second promise of the night. "We shall return when this has settled. Let us investigate the courtyard instead."
