Interactions openXXXAkari came back down from Hogwarts, eating the candied grapes he had taken. He felt only a little bit silly coming back to the Garden after such a short period of time, but hey, he was allowed to change his mind. It was good to have some diversity between the loud and cheerful portion of the ball and the quiet and flowery portion. Honestly, he wasn't sure how his cousin was faring so well in the Soirée. Her voice was usually pretty quiet, and it was hard to hear properly in there.
XXXMore people had arrived at the Garden since he left, so at least he wasn't the only person moving. Akari was surprised to see two students from Durmstrang, as well. It's good to see other international students! I'm not sure how many of my own schoolmates came. He assessed the number of people in the Garden, wondering who he should approach.
XXXThe two Hogwarts professors already seemed locked into a conversation, and nevertheless, it would be an odd decision to push his way in. After weighing the pros and cons, Akari finally headed towards an older Ravenclaw sitting on a bench with a plate of food. Surely this couldn't go wrong, right? The boy looked friendly enough, even if his outfit with a little dreary for the occasion.
XXX"Hello!" Akari smiled as he approached, making sure that his sleeves did not brush against the flower bushes, for fear of getting caught. Wait a minute, he didn't think this far ahead. "I'm Akari, from Mahoutokoro. Would you mind if I joined you?"~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~

Edward watched the other guests of the Garden. A girl dragging a boy along. Even though speaking silently, the entrance looked rather loud to Edward.
Another girl seemingly enjoying the flowers of the garden.
He enjoyed his snacks, however wondering whether there was some more substantial dinner option inside compared to outside. He regretted that he had not taken a book with him. Even though it would soon get dark, it was a beautiful atmosphere to read a good book.
A bit lost in thought, he did not notice the boy walking towards him, so he was slightly startled as he started talking to him. Edward looked up after hearing a 'Hello' and did not recognise the boy. Maybe he is from another school then. he thought and was proven right as the boy introduced himself as Akari from Mahoutokoro. He smiled at the boy, seriously happy that someone had made the start of a conversation, even though his voice was a tiny bit trembling as he answered: H-hello! No. .. I mean, no I don't mind. Please sit down. He gestured to the free space next to him. I am Edward. I am a student here at Hogwarts. Nice to meet you!
He paused, unsure what to say next, but before the pause would turn into an awkward silence, he added: "How do you find the Garden?"

Interactions openXXXThe nervous-looking Ravenclaw smiled, gesturing to the space next to him, and introduced himself as Edward with a bit of a stutter. "It's nice to meet you as well!" Akari replied brightly, sitting as indicated. He made sure to tuck the ends of sleeves safely onto his lap to make sure that they weren't invading the other boy's personal space. Oddly, these types of sleeves tended to do strange things sometimes. When Akari put his hands back down, he felt the edge of the dance card against his arm. Ah, I almost forgot it was there.
XXXIn the time that it took him to rearrange his clothing, Edward spoke up, asking his opinion of the Garden. The wording had confused him for a second, but after a quick pause, Akari exclaimed, "It is truly magnificent! I love the atmosphere, the music, and the arrangements of flowers and their scents." He gestured around the garden as he spoke with a grin.
XXXHe had, of course, brushed up on his vocabulary just for the Spring Ball. There was sure to be many flower-and-nature-related things to discuss here! Akari had spent hours in his room, translating as many flowers as he could think of. The peaceful, almost lullaby-like music in the Garden of Eden was a sharp contrast to the lively medieval music at the Spring Soirée. "Especially the peonies!" Those were peonies, right? Maybe they were carnations. The flowers in question happened to be arranged neatly in ornate stone flowerpots nearby. Well, whichever one it happens to be, they are both excellent decisions for the occasion!
XXX"The Garden also has excellent fruit tarts." He tilted his head toward Edward's plate of food. "Is the food good?" Akari had not tried the other foods other than the single strawberry-peach tart from earlier, and he wanted to know what the others were like. He would probably eat more later. And the drinks! Wow, mocktails... I've never had one before!~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~✩✩✩~

───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────It was another Hogwarts ball, and since I came here mostly for the sake of seeing my brother, I was also going to this little event that was doomed from the start. He had promised he would come here eventually even if he was late, and he told me he would be specifically at the Grounds. The glass edge of the bottle of Wolfsbane was trembling at my lips, the shakiness having slowly increased over the course of the week leading up to the full moon that would take place tomorrow night. I knew what it was going to taste like before it would even hit my tongue, but what the Hell I wanted it to be over with so I threw my head back and tried to let it not linger in my mouth for too long. It was still gag-worthy of course, but I was starting to get the hang of it.
"It's just medicine." I coughed, following it down with a little water that I proceeded to swish and then spit on the grass. "Eugh... medicine..."
The face of a black wolf in the form of a masque was slipped on, and I threw the olive green cloak of my outfit behind me before jogging slowly to the sparkling lights of the Garden of Eden--a very strangely, if perhaps aptly, named component of the ball. A place of paradise lost, and of bliss revoked. A place of temptation, of a wyrm's first concealed evils that would be destined to proliferate in a bloom of wickedness that would become the natural mortal state whose ultimate consequence was Death. The moon was nearly full overhead, and of course I had a headache that I was actively ignoring both with the help of medicine and by sheer willpower alone.
Taking a deep breath as I finally willed myself to enter the perimeter, a dance card was offered to me: a green and pink butterfly-laden card with silvery pages. "Oh... I don't... I'm not a dancer, really." I muttered mostly to myself, trying to find a way to politely refuse. "I just came here to... uh..." I rolled my eyes. "Never mind. Thank you." It was then secured to my wrist. Well so much for trying to hide it in my breast pocket so as to totally forget about it and not be asked about it...
Awkwardly excusing myself from the greeter, I drifted carefully in amongst the other ballgoers with my arms crossed to avoid bumping anyone as best as possible. Blue eyes peered through the wolfish mask, but that was about all that anyone would see of Romeo for the time being. Not the slightly pink, embarrassed flushing in my cheeks at being at this place to begin with, not the crease of concern in my eyebrows as I glanced back and forth for something familiar to anchor myself to, and certainly not any interest at the table laden with foods fit for a king and his entourage.
After all, wasn't it all over a little morsel of food that Eden had been lost? If anything, and especially in this mortal world, food was the temptation here.
Perhaps I would find somewhere nice to tuck into and stay out of the way in near the folle. Yes, my green clothes trimmed with vines and apples would match and blend in with the foliage nicely.
In fact, perhaps I hadn't noticed, but the treads of my feet were soft and aloof, the way that I moved was athletic yet silent. Scents and smells were everywhere that I had never notice before: perfumes, sweats, colognes, and the edges of the aromantic allures of savories and sweets seemed to be almost as tangible as direct taste. I was watching, I realized. An observer. No... something a bit more than an observer. Like a hunter. [Wolf's Grace]
So watch I did. Observe. Inspecting and remaining vigilant, hand resting attentively on the pommel of Valentin's gifted Italian longsword that had already once seen blood upon its bludgeon and that I hoped would not have to have the newly unbound blade experience the same.

For it being advertised as a tranquil space, the Garden of Eden never mentioned anything about a greeter jump-scaring and shoving a dance card in the guests' faces. Casey jerked backwards as a dance card was held out to him upon reaching the entrance to the venue. He took it gingerly.
"Thanks pal... I think..."
Once he slunk past the eager greeter, stuffing his card into his inside jacket pocket as he did so, he progressed further until he was standing in the middle of the space. He eyed the banquet with curious eyes. He only just had a sandwich back at the Great Hall and already a muffin or two was calling out to him. He resisted the urge to steal a snack from the table. There were more things a guy can do aside from stuffing his face. Like having a nosy around!
The place certainly lived up to its name. Quiet it was, but beautiful as well. So many colourful flowers decorated up and down in little pots and amongst the shrubbery. Calling it a "garden" was an understatement. Casey smiled. Emily would have a ball if she saw this place. She would want to drag Colin down here before the night was over for sure. Maybe go on a few extensive tangents to him about every breed of flower here.
He wandered around some more and caught sight of a couple of faces he was sure he recognised. A princely looking guy with a date latched onto him, dressed equally splendid. Ohh. Right. One was the winner of the Potions Championship from a while back while the other he recognised from the spectator seats. He was sure Emily had mentioned them in one of her letters before. Simon and... Angie? Or something like that. They fit Emily's description of "Super Duper Power Puffie Couple", so that must be them. Casey smirked.
Cute.
Then he spotted another dude - a pretty tall one at that - dressed with a wolf mask on his face. He looked like he was dressed as a knight which already flaunted a ray of coolness, but what stuck out to Casey the most was the badass-looking sword he had resting at his side that drove the image home.
Casey sung an impressed whistle. "I oughta get myself one of them..." he muttered to himself, his eyes never leaving the man's weapon, examining its every curve and edge. It took all his energy to withdraw his gaze and focus on something else.
He chuckled.
It was something to think about for his birthday this year.

The Garden of Eden
This day wasn't like many others for it was a fancy ball for people to danc,e eat food and interact. This was most trouble for young Adam. He didn't know who to ask to the dance or if he'd be dancing with anyone really. He wore a simple outfit of his school attire, except the robes for he wore only his pants, shoes shirt and tie. He wore a big smile on his face as he walked right into the garden and looked around, he saw there was a place to pick up cards and he without any second thought went to pick it up. He looked at the card as it was blank for the time being. Or maybe he was looking at the wrong side.. Any who, Adam begun dancing around the room by himself, holding his hands up like he was holding an invisible person. Humming a tune to the melody of the medieval music being played.
"Hey everybody, I'm dancing with a ghost! Let's all have some fun today!" He'd chuckle at himself and his goofy shenanigans. If the others were to make fun of him, he wouldn't have a care in the world. He was just here to have fun, to have a blast. it wasn't often he had these kinds of events in his life. It was an escape from reality "Does anyone know if they have these kinds of events often? This is a lot of fun!" he'd say out loud to nobody in particular, really just anyone that would listen to him and his ridiculous questions typical of a first year muggle born. He sighed happily and stopped his dancing, adjusting his tie as he walked over to the food table and picked up a few miscellaneous berries to plop into his mouth and happily munch on. Still holding his card as he looked it over back and front to try and get a good read on it. He didn't know what it was for but he didn't care. He saw others taking one and knew he just had to get one.
Anyways he came up with another question "Who came up with this idea? It's so different from a regular muggle school but it is fascinating. Wonder what it's for." He didn't listen to any explanations about the card, he just picked one up and took it without realizing the importance of it. He wondered if anyone here would be talking about magic, so he thought it'd be a good idea to come have some fun and probably make a friend along the way.
EDIT MADE. No longer in a ballroom but the garden

Siobhan had been excited about the prospect of another ball up until the accident with her eyes. After which she assumed there woul be nothing she could enjoy, given that half the ball was to take place in an enchanted garden- something she could really only dream about at the moment rather than experience it wholeheartedly. And despite her own pity party of wallowing in her own misery, she still couldn't help but worry about her friend Matthew. It hadn't entirely been his fault that the accident had happened, it had been harder and harder to find him to tell him that she wasn't mad at him. If he hadn't tripped when trying to get to the failed potion, it could have easily have been him that lost his eyes.
She was mad but not at him. And she knew deep down that he wouldn't believe her if she tried to assure him but she needed too.
Siobhan had sulked for a good part of a week or so when the announcement for the ball had come around. Besides the fact that her eyes were still a mess and the scarring hadn't subsided- she didn't have a real dress besides a white summer dress that had been a hand-me-down from her sister. It was plain and while she liked plain, she worried it would draw more attention to her than she truly wanted. So in a rash bout of thinking, and an accidental collision with a suit of armor from around the castle, she had used her brain to come up with the idea of using parts of the iron suit as her dress so as to match the theme of the ball. She had shrunken the chestplate and the gloves down to her size and afixed them to the sleeves and front of her dress to wear for the event taking place outside.
Siobhan lingered at the entrance to the garden for a good minute or so when she first arrived. Would people think she looked bad? In a general sense at least? She felt awkward as she had never been so obsessed with her appearance or concerned about the thoughts of others. Yet as of late, it consumed her waking thoughts and on top of the lack of sleep due to the vision she was about two coins short of a pound at all times. She nervously fidgeted with the hem of her skirt and ran her fingers through her hair which she had opted to wear down. In a difficult but somewhat successful turn of events, she had managed to make a flower crown with some of the flowers that had been gifted to her during her recovery. She thought it looked fitting and gave her outfit a softer edge.
Now all that was left to do was wait for Prat. She was surprised that she was waiting for him given their inability to typically get along. After all, he did poke fun at her, they argued day and night, and he kept trying to steal her cat with treats that were bad for him. And while she hadn't explicitly told Toaster not to follow her to the ball, she figured that Toaster would show up out of concern and Prat would try to take him again.
And he was late again. Despite what he tried to convince her in the Astronomy Tower that one time, this time he was actually late. Any later and she would go back to her dorm.

ooc notes- Brookline and I have agreed via dms that Sage will be dragging her down to the ball
if you would like to interact with Sage, please owl/dm meA light resembling a smile fell upon Sage's face. Springtime, the romanticized rainfalls and windy days, were confined as one of her most beloved seasons. The Spring Ball, rather being christened as the Spring Soirée, was where Sage took to that April evening.
Sage's outfit, achieving the theme the best she could, consisted of what one could call a vintage spring sundress. Nothing extravagant, nothing over the top. The fading green fabric whirled around her when she moved quickly, the exact way you'd hear of princesses' dresses doing at a ball. Her hair, pinned neatly into a braided crown at the nape of her neck, remained steady in place. And she felt beautiful.
The Garden of Eden had been a place she'd heard of many times growing up. The haven seemed just as she'd pictured it when she was young. Would her dad, the one to tell her of Adam and Eve's home, find it the same? Or would he turn his nose, scorn the God who'd allowed for such a tragedy to occur?
Never mind the unfortunate circumstances. All Sage needed was to take her mind off everything at the Soirée. She accepted a dance card upon her arrival, pausing to admire the product she then held. Empty for the moment, perhaps not so in the future of her time at the Soirée.
It'd been months since the worst of it. The days awake only to cry, to hear sobs, to face the worst of it, seemed to be in more of a dry spell. At least that was what Sage had been hoping for. She swallowed. Down with the suffering, down with the melancholia, down with the permanent winter. Spring would come. She wouldn't be standing in a garden, food and music surrounding, whilst a chill covered her skin, would she? Let the spring bring flowers, Sage thought. Let me move on.
Sage happened to have insisted on her friend- probably her best friend- Brookline Quinn joining her. Brook had been... going through a lot in the past few months. A lot on anyone's shoulders, but even harder for Brook, only making it harder for Sage to see her going through the same thing she did.
But that wasn't what the day was about. No, today they were going to celebrate, no matter how hard it was, no matter how much Brookline had been distant. April 11th wouldn't be like the winter, Sage was sure of it.
Sage would smile at Brookline once they arrived, before turning her head around to see other faces visiting the Garden. Sage fiddled with the dance card and looked over to study Brook's expression. Where were the flowers? Where was the rain?
