As Kelsey was distracted by the bickering between the two children yes I have decided to unfairly blame you two muahaha, Kelsey's healing sputtered and failed. Though he had questions to answer and slugs to gather, he would be too shocked by his own failure to pay attention. This was a spell he had done a million times, sometimes even in active combat situations. Even if he was sometimes sloppy in both his desk space and his pronunciation, he had not failed a simple healing spell since he was a kid. Oh well, mistakes happened to everyone, nobody was perfect. He would have liked to not have been failing while his wand was pointed at a concussed kid, but no one got to pick and choose when they would be on the ball. Hey, ball! They were at a ball right now! Actually, he should be focussing.
"Oopsie." He said, looking at his wand like it was its fault somehow. "Hey Juni, why don't'cha get that bag an' take it to t'hospital fer me?"
Despite tuning out most of their conversation, he had still caught Hisoka pointing at something. Raising his wand to continue trying to do his word, this time not letting the sounds of conversation grab his attention, he stopped abruptly to say a bit more to his impromptu nurse aide, "Don't strain yerself too much, buddy. We'll get everyone to safety, y'aren't alone now."
With that, he'd try again, no good ever came from giving up after one hiccup. From then on, it would be a matter of going from one student to the next and helping anyone who was bleeding still or who could not walk themselves. Tonight he could tell was going to be an all-nighter, and that once he got back to the wing it was going to be chock full of wet and injured children. 'Twas what he got paid for. If he was lucky, a few of these adults would be around ready to lend a hand and lessen the load. They weren't getting paid for it, but certainly he could find a way to bribe them into it.

Hugh's face stretched out in pain as he gasped for air. His eyes flickered against the rain and mud clinging to the sides of his face. Stunned. He got stunned. The part-giant looked around in confusion, trying to make out the figures near him. The same bodies were lying on the floor when he… left. There was an extra professor this time around. It seemed like the nurse. 'Oh, hell no. That bloke's weird as hell.' Hugh thought to himself in mild panic.
Then he was met with Serena's face. "I have to get out of here. They got me good, Serena!" He couldn't help but chuckle in the haze of pain and misery. "Haha, yeaah, they got me good, them buggers." He let himself fall back into the mud and rested his head in the cold puddles that were forming under his weight. "The bag, Serena. You need to get the creep's bag." He managed to stammer with clattering teeth. The cold rain was getting through, offering relieve to some of his wounds, but leaving other areas to suffer under it.
"Get it. And then get out of here. They'll always hate us, they'll blame us for everything." He hissed at her, trying to get her to jump into gear. His hand reaching for Serena's shoulder and gently pushing her away from him. "But that bag needs to be destroyed." His eyes lingered on Gideon's still body. At least the kid wasn't going to give her a fight. Then he focused on the others, like the maniac with the blades. He was a killer. Hugh felt a shot of fear course through his body again. He usually fought things head on, but a kid as messed up as that one… who knew what he was capable of.
"But… be careful…" He stammered again, not sure if it was loud enough for her to hear.

"Just. Shut. Up," She gritted her teeth, responding angrily to the boy who continued to try and justify his actions. He was distracting her and trying to confuse her. But the 'details' he said did not make a difference to her stance. She did not know why Hugh did what he did but she believed in him. Besides, two wrongs did not make a right. If Hugh was wrong to hurt someone on the head, when did potentially paralysing him become the 'right' action to do? This stupid kid did not know what his own actions could do to someone. He acted like nothing would happen to Hugh but - by his own words - he was bad at magic. How could he guarantee that this would not be permanent? How could he guarantee that the slugs would not have burrowed into him or killed him if they were still alive? These actions he took were done before.
Serena waved her wand but it was of no use. It didn't work. It was not working. "Fuck. I don't know how to fix this. Shit. Hugh, wake up-" She whispered under the breath in anger, tears were still streaming down her face and her mind was still cloudy and confused. She heard his voice, her eyes locking with his. He was awake.
"I'm sorry," She whispered softly as he chuckled a little. She did not know what to do. She agreed that he had to get out of here but, how? She could not heal him and he could not walk. There was no way she could carry him out. Would she be able to levitate? Would that work? What if she dropped him and made it worse? Serena looked around in a panic, trying to get any inspiration from the nearby area that she could. There was a hope that perhaps she could use something but she did not know what.
Her attention was pulled back to the part-giant though as she heard his words. The creep's bag? What? Her gaze moved to Gideon. His bag? What even was in it? Serena had no idea why they needed his bag - or if it was in fact him that Hugh was talking about - but she did vaguely recall seeing the other boy collecting what she assumed to be Erin's teeth. Perhaps... it was needed to save Erin? Could teeth even- Serena shook the thought of her head. It did not matter. Nothing mattered right now. She did not have the brainpower to think or question what people did with teeth.
Her fingers clutched tightly around her wand, her jaw clenched tightly as her face bore an expression of disgust mixed in with anger. His words hit her hard. Them. Us. Them versus Us. It was always going to be like this, wasn't it? It was going to be a competition or worse, a war. This boy who decided that Hugh was a threat that had to be stopped for perhaps accidentally hurting Gideon did not do anything when someone was trying to outright murder Erin. None of these people stepped in to try and stop the Hess. None of them. He was screaming about murdering her and none of them even blinked an eye or cared? Why? Because he was human? Yet some creepy human gets hurt and now the part-giant is the bad guy? Of course. So typical.
"Hugh, don't be fuckin' crazy. I can't leave you like this," She responded panicking. She knew she had to get the bag. Before someone else did but how the hell could she leave him here without anyone to defend him? Of course, she was not really in a position to defend him herself, she could barely focus on the conversation.
She felt his hand gently pushing her back, trying to tell her to go when his words were failing to reach her. Tears flowed faster, as she shook her head, "No- don't- I can't-" She shook her head at him, almost begging him not to make her do this. It defied every sense in her being. It made absolutely no sense to her. Leaving him... was the one thing she did not want to do. Gideon's bag was not too far. Howard was close, right? Her eyes searched the area, spotting him. She did not know if they really knew each other but that did not matter. If there was one person she trusted here, outside of Hugh, it was Howard. If she asked him, he would help protect Hugh, right? She stared at him for a moment. How in Bodrig's name could she ask him to do that? Ask him to put himself in danger, to protect someone he may not even know. He was not supposed to be dragged into this mess and he had been through enough... how could she drag him into this?
The confusion made her hesitate. She could not ask him to do this. He had... done enough. If he got hurt too, she... She shook her head, not wanting to think about that either. Right! Galton was nearby - though she did not know what state he was in. But Galton would help Hugh, of course, he would. "GALTON! HUGH NEEDS YOU!" She screamed at the duellist. Whether he was good at healing or not, she did not know. But he was pretty good at fighting. If they attacked, he could protect. And right now, she needed all the help she could get.
Turning back to Hugh, who was staring at Gideon at this point, she shook her head. What the hell was she supposed to do? She had no idea. To stay with her friend and try to help him or to actually listen to his one request? "Shit, I'm sorry, forgive me-" She continued in an angry tone as she pushed herself from the ground and did what he asked.
Serena did not know what she was doing or why exactly. However, she would attempt to grab Gideon's bag, paying no mind to his state of being. She was told to take his bag and that was what she would do. She did not want to leave Hugh but she decided to trust him, which meant doing what he said even if she disagreed with it. He must have had a reason. If she could, she would take the bag as quickly as possibly without trying to make a huge scene about it, but who knew at this point. She was not really in the right frame of mind.

Honestly, Selim should stop using big sentences for people that are high-strung and emotional. He tried to give her some reasoning, offered her bandages, very clearly stated that he had nothing against Hugh, and she was still upset. Though, he probably should also stop expecting preteens to have high-functioning logic, seeing as how he was an outlier due to being labelled a 'prodigy' by his birth parents.
What a troublesome night.
As he walked away he heard the half-giant act rather good-natured about the whole situation, that was until he became dramatic and said 'everyone was against them'. He wasn't exactly sure how the boy was treated on a day-to-day basis but he himself sure as hell had no issue with the giant other than what little rashness he showed today. In fact, Selim favoured no student, emotionally' over another in this situation. He was worried about the boys with head trauma, but that was only logical given how serious head trauma was. he had even expressed concern about Hugh's burns... though to be fair the half-giant and the girl were both not present during that, either being unconscious or only hearing the tail end of that bit of drama.
Being rational in this situation seemed uncommon. About as uncommon as witnessing a magical medic fail a healing spell.
Huffing, Selim decided to wipe his hands clean of that particular scene. The girl was trying to reach for the bag but he found no need to stop her, seeing as how the professor who asked for it was literally right there, and professors probably knew some sort of charm that could immediately bring the object to them anyways.
Besides, while more than one specimen would probably be preferable, he was sure the nurse could manage with one. Who bothers dealing with over-dramatic preteens and their weird shinanigans anyways? Who'd want to engage with that?
Walking over to where the mollusc died after trying, and failing, to take a chunk out of him, he picked it up with an expression showing a mix of disgust and intrigue. It really did look more like a twisted leech than a slug. Even if mildly battered.
After snagging his robe that he had thrown off before, he carried it safely by the tail so the teeth wouldn't have any chance to touch him unless the slug magically came to life again. Quietly he hoped the rain had done the work of cleaning the mud off the dilapidated carcass. Then he wrapped it up in his wet robe to further lessen the chance of anyone getting cut by its sharp fangs.
Returning to the nurse's side, he tied the sleeves of the robe around his waist in a way that would sorta-kinda keep the dead thing in a pouch. He needed free hands, after all. Then he knelt down beside Hugh, tilting his head. "Other than, you know, the probable pain, how do you feel? Do you have any other injuries than the burn and that cut? Do you think you might've hit your head thanks to the sudden fall?" He grilled the half-giant, trying to look him over for any possibly dangerous injuries that needed immediate attention. Selim was trying to help despite having felled the boy himself, which was... probably mildly confusing.
He paused then, sitting back on his knees, he needed to calm down. "If you're thirsty I do have some nice tea I stored away for the festival." He paused, "I, suppose I should apologize for the whole tendon thing, I was in a weird headspace while that happened, and I'm terrible at magic so I just sort of defaulted to the best, non-lethal way to disarm you. I mean, I doubt I could grapple you for obvious reasons." The boy shrugged awkwardly, "I can assure you though, the effect isn't permanent, even muggles usually recover fully from the injury without magic, though it takes longer for them." He gestured to the wound while also checking if the bleeding had been effectively stopped for now... it looked like it, and the nurse would be able to seal the wound shut after he was done with the other more seriously injured students.
He looked over what burns he could see, grimacing. "I really should've brought more bandages, it's making me nervous, those wounds being open." He scratched his neck.
After he finished checking in with the half-giant he'd try to move on to other students. He just thought it'd be polite to at the very least show that he wasn't just injuring the boy, slapping some bandages on the wound, and disregarding him for the rest of the night.
The boy didn't seem terribly bothered, but who knew how he'd react to one of his 'attackers'.

"Finite Incantatem." It was spoken with some haste. There was no reason to leave Galton in his sorry state, longer than needed. Xailah stayed by his side long enough to make sure her spell worked; but provided no further aid. He would have to stymie his own bleeding- or find someone else to do it. The lioness was no doctor. With the rain having died down (of course it had to stop when the action ceased) Xailah was able to make out a cry for help. Someone needed Galton's assistance it seemed. Presumably the toppled half-giant. Galton needed to get to him before some student with PTSD did. Hogwarts kids here were merciless when a threat was on the ground. Everyone knew what had happened to the part-giants at the masquerade, that had fallen to their level. "Go. Your friends need you." Xailah tried to usher the boy onto his feet.
She was soon off to do other things. Nurse Brumby- when did he arrive, Xailah did not know- appeared to be working with some of the students, and healing those that were injured. Everything looked to be handled now. There was no reason to stick around here anymore. Xailah needed to check things out at the tent anyways. Managing to ignore the stiffening pain in her shoulder, Xailah made her way back to the ball- but not before stopping to pick something up. A hand went to the ground. Her claws wrapped around the same beast that had dug it's fangs into her flesh. Yes, she was taking one of the slugs back to study. It was morbid, but she needed to know more about the creatures- figure out what made them the monsters that they were. The only way to learn that, was to study it up close. There was one more thing to do before she left. Xailah peered behind, in search of Erin. Assuming the snake was where she had been left, she would be found quickly. Sadly, the metamorph looked at the bleeding girl, but said nothing. What was there to say? I'm sorry? You'll be okay? "Okay" certainly wasn't something that Erin would be after this night. So, Xailah decided- with much hesitation- that silence was the best option. She then continued on her way. Quietly.

Fighting his way through whisps of wind and rain, Henry found himself back in the festival area. Glancing around as he noticed the chaos seemed to have ended and injured was still a low number.
Casting a wearily eye around, it appeared that most were already taken care of. Henry found his ears caught by the confrontation between Selim and Juniper. One- wait maybe both seemed to be trying to help while also bickering? Strange...
Henry heeded the nurse's directions and decided to head to the hospital wing perhaps they could use more help that night even if he wasn't a intern himself. Which he didn't want to be one.... he didn't.... right? Henry started on his way out of the festival and the rain when a lad cuaght his blue gaze. Galton Lansdale. The gryffindor captain who still is bleeding.
Henry took a breath as he walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder as he spoke"are you alright? How are you feeling?" Henry took a guess that the older year lost a bit of blood, aiming hia wand for the gryffindor as he spoke"ferula," watching as a bandage sprung from his wand and tighten itself around the gryffindor to stop the bleeding. Henry then turned to Galton as he spoke"that should hold for now but you should still go to the hospital wing," eyes darting around at the others leaveing this place.
Henry looked over at the older year, a part of the third year admirers him for his bravely and courageous heart but also ability to split spells. The teen offered a simple nod as he spoke"if the bandage gets to wet or bleeding continue, get to the hospital wing. Please." The teen wanted to drag the gryffindor to the hospital wing himself but decided aginest it as he left his side. Henry walked through the festival, Loki growling on his shoulder from the rain splattering onto the duo.
It wasn't long till they were in the safety of the dry and sheltered corridors, although botu still wet. The duo set a path for the hospital wing.

His muscled loosened. A toe, then two, then his foot, the magical antidote to his problem spread over his body. It allowed him the freedom of a deep, stomach bulging breath. What that breath would become was not yet decided. Galton's ego could barely cope with the fact that his own spell had failed him at such a crucial moment. It wanted him to rage. To rage at his tall helpful classmate for rescuing him. The anger in him saw it only as an act to belittle the short teen. Galton the Glorious too stunned to even help himself.
Brewing beneath the anger, or maybe the true source of the anger, was the sadness taking hold of the boy. The culmination of the nights festivities, Galton's mind could no longer wall up the grief that he found now. A dear friend turned murderer, the continuous pain from the attack, his own failures in the battle. How Glorious was Galton? He'd never doubted it before, but the question now just brought chaos to his mind. The large breath would become a stifled cry.
Xaliah's words were a welcome change to the strife of his own thoughts. On her cue he would begin to pick himself up. He tried to keep his head to the ground for as long as he could. He needed to compose himself before he looked the tall girl in the eyes. He couldn't tell if the burning in his eyes was from being filled with rain or tears. Galton hoped she would just assume the tears were rain. Because it was rain. "Th - hanks." Galton would meekly say as he looked to his housemate.
It would take another second for him to process the "friends need you" part. By then his rescuer was already walking off. "You coul-" He would begin to say after her, but he'd stop mid sentence. She had already done more than Galton would have ever liked to be needed. Now it was his turn to help his friends. He could still be of use.
But before he could make it to the part-giant, Galton would once again run into Henry. The duelist who'd proven himself an apt medic. As the boy's first question came Galton would blurt out "Fine, yeah fine, I'm... Before being targeted with another healing spell from the boy. A clean bandage would appear over his bleeding wound, a welcome change.
"Thanks." It seemed to be a popular word for Galton tonight. "I just need to get my friend and I'll head there." He offered a smile with the answer this time. The warmth and safety of the hospital wing was sounding very appealing right now. Galton and Henry would part ways.
Now for Hugh. How on earth the boy had gotten himself in such a mess was a wonder to Galton. He looked away and all of a sudden he has a bunch of kids coming at him? And it appeared that on of those kids had been by his side and was now departing. Galton would raise his wand, pointing it between Hugh and the strange kid, not sure who should be receiving his magic. It did not seem like there was a threat still, so it would be best to get Hugh looked after.
"Who was the weirdo... Why do you always attract weirdos? He would ask his large friend. Then he would see the large gash at his ankle - it looked like a muggle had treated it? The bandages were covering the gash, but it lacked a sense of magical touch to Galton. And from the deep read seeping through, it looked to be quite a nasty cut. "Let's get you a little more comfy before we move." He leveled the wand at Hugh's ankle. "Ferula." It was going to have to do until they got to the hospital wing. How to move him was the next challenge. Or it would be if you didn't have magic.
"So, we can either have you hobble your way to the hospital... Orrrr - I can just carry you with a nice Wingardium Leviosa. You choose." He would try of offer his usual grin with the idea, but the astute observer would catch some sadness still lingering in it. Hugh surely would.

Serena did not know if her actions were right. She was tired, and in so much pain that she could barely stand up straight. The ability to think was next to impossible for her. At this point, she was doing what she was told. She did not know if that was right or not but the adrenaline drove her to continue. Grabbing the bag belonging to Gideon, Serena dipped as fast as possible.
Pizza had managed to find her in the mess of everything, chasing after her. It was not like she was moving very fast, admittedly. Her legs struggled, buckling slightly as she could barely move without wanting to scream out in pain. However, she had to keep going. For now, her plan was simple: get out of here and hide the bag. They could destroy it later, but she did not know if she was meant to or how to do that or anything. Her brain could not fathom it. So she would return to the castle as sneakily as she could. It was probably not very sly or sneaky by any means. However, in the mess and chaos of everything else, she managed to slip away without getting stopped. The storm likely helped her.
She probably ought to also get healed... Grasping the bag tightly in her hands, she turned to look at the scene that she had just escaped from. She was nearer to the castle now but from here, she could still see Hugh. Though, he was a lot smaller now than he was when she was nearby. He looked younger than her from this distance. He was but she often thought of him as older when he scolded her, telling her what to do and acted far more maturely than she did. Muttering under her breath, she waved at the familiar-looking copper cauldron turned helmet on the ground in the distance. There was no hesitation as she saw it. Accio. She summoned it towards her, grabbing the helmet.
It was not very important, in the grand scheme of things. They could have died. A hag could have been born tonight. A murder might have been committed. In hindsight, saving a helmet from some dirt and a storm was meaningless. But... she could not be at Hugh's side right now. A part of her just wanted to be able to return it to Hugh. For that to happen, at the very least, it would mean that he was okay. Relief flooded over her though as she knew Galton would and could protect him. Leaving the pair, she returned to the castle with her bag.
Today... sucked. "Come on, let's get the hell out of here..." She mumbled to the rat as she hobbled back into the castle to get herself healed and hide the bag.
