Quidditch Slytherin vs Hufflepuff - Winter 2025

The game seemed to be going intense, Elisa mentally regretted not bringing a packet of popcorn with her, Maggie easily scored 30 points due to the lack of keepers and a bonus of awesome skills, but what caught her eyes were the beaters, Percival seemed to be on fire as he successfully brought two of the other team players down. Maybe one more peaceful quidditch match in the benches?

Well, who couldn’t really do with a bit of cheating in a game of quidditch? Eugenia definitely could, but why not try something new? She did have a knack for spotting things on logic. Her myopia for once let her do the job. And even though she was going against a goddamn seventh year, she still found the snitch. Just like he did. How about she was the one who got it? The young girl smirked and continued flying.

As the game kicked off, Atlas immediately readied herself for the chaos. Having discussed a plan before the game, she knew she was going to take a more aggressive start. While she hated deserting the posts, she knew the gamble could pay off if she could just get to the quaffle first. Lowering herself on her broom, Atlas dashed forward with her eyes fixed on the quaffle.

It was quickly clear that Slytherin was taking a similar strategy as Atlas recognized the opposite posts had also been abandoned. The war for the quaffle began as she met the Slytherin player. There was an alternating struggle as they both were able to get their hands on the quaffle to put some points up. Growling in frustration as Slytherin went up by ten.

So focused on the battle for the quaffle, Atlas didn't see the rapidly approaching Slytherin player until it was too late. Tossed from her broom by the sudden blatch, Atlas cursed and began plummeting through the air. Luckily she avoided a cruel reunion with the ground as Roxette swiftly caught her. "Well that was close... I owe you one," Atlas smiled with a sigh of relief as she worked to settle on her teammate's broom. It wasn't an ideal position but it beat crashing to the ground.

Keepers Catch
10% chance to automatically block an attempt to score a goal as long as the Keeper is in the goal area. If an attempt to score has been blocked through this effect, the Keeper may as a free action hurl the quaffle at the opponent team in an attempt to injure a player of their choice (it would be recovered with a quaffle grab action) and treated like a bludger or pass the quaffle to a team mate. This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Evasive Maneuvers
Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separately from the attack roll.

DEBUFF FOULS

The game was underway and both teams were already going for an elbow based foul against the other team. The use of cobbing in quidditch had increased over the past couple of years as teams tried to reduce the power of older seekers. It was an interesting tactic and had proved to be successful on many cases, now was the time to see if either team could succeed this time. Maggie must have had some great intuition to notice that Eugenia had spotted the snitch, and flew up against her with elbows out. The cobb was a spectacular success and Eugenia would be suffering with the effects for a little bit.

The broom combo of Atlas/Roxette along with Jess from Hufflepuff were all targeting Dan for a cobb. Both brooms came close to Dan and attempted to throw out and elbow, but with his speed from the alley oop, Dan was able to easily avoid all the elbows.

CHASERS

While Eugenia might have been searching for the snitch last round, this time she was the only one after the quaffle. Since Slytherin neglected to put a keeper in the hoop, Eugenia had free hoops to score in. She would grab the quaffle five times and score for 50 points!

"50 Points for Hufflepuff! Eugenia is dominating the quaffle game!"

SEEKERS

Slytherin were ready to end this game as soon as possible. Dan had found the snitch and was being immediately alley ooped by Koko. She would grad the end of his broom and swing him towards the snitch with incredible power. Dan would be through right into the snitch's path and caught it immediately. It seemed super simple and would cement Dan's place as a great seeker in Hogwarts' history.
"The rain is picking up and so if the race for the snitch! Koko has just alley ooped Dan and he is flying fast hopefully towards the snitch! If I can make it out it looks like he is speeding towards something... And now he's holding onto something, that must be the snitch!! Dan has caught the snitch for Slytherin!! This has got to be one of the fastest snitch catches in our history and in the rain!"

BEATERS

Both beaters for Slytherin where sharing a broom with a chaser from their team and decided to send their bludgers towards the young Hufflepuff seeker and the sneaky chaser. However, Hufflepuff had thought one step ahead and had both their beaters defending Callum and Eugenia. The Slytherin bludger targeting Avery from Hufflepuff would appear to be right on target until at the last second Avery evaded! The wind from the bludger would likely be heard by both Avery and Callum as it flew so close.

"Percival and Avery have sent a bludger towards the Hufflepuff Avery! Well technically the bludger was towards Callum, but Avery must have felt bad for the second string seeker. Regardless, lets see if another Hufflepuff will be taken out!....And the bludger just misses! That was a very close one and maybe the weather played a part in it!"

Ulyssses/Mellani would send their bludger straight into Sage and she didn't have enough time to evade before she was knocked out and falling off her broom rapidly towards the ground. A slowing spell would be cast by the referee on Sage to help avoid any more injuries.

"WOAH! Ulysses and Mellani just sent an aggressive bludger straight at Sage who was defending Eugenia! I have no idea why Sage was defending, but now she is tumbling out the sky! Hopefully they will be able to patch Sage up in the hospital wing, that was a nasty hit!"

Due to the fact that both Hufflepuff beaters were occupied defending their teammates, a rouge bludger was flying around and found Avery as a target. Avery easily evaded the bludger and kept defending Callum.

SAVES AND BROOM RETURNS

Sage was fully knocked out and couldn't be saved by Callum who was meant to be on save duty for Hufflepuff. Additionally, the great number of broom duos would decide that they had bigger priorities than returning to two brooms.
