Bonfire Night
Lucretcia focused intently on the night sky as she shaded in her sketch. One pencil tucked behind her ear, another held in her mouth with another she was actively working on for the different lines and throwing in color here or there. She didn't notice the approach of the boy who had walked up to her until he spoke suddenly, jarring her from her focus and causing one of her lines to go erratic.
She looked towards him, her gaze withering but at the mention of him also wanting to sketch it softened some. The fact that he was a Hogwarts student gave her a moment of pause but perhaps it wasn't the worst thing to become associated with people she would soon be studying with. after a few moments she let out a slight sigh and offered a shrug
"I guess...the view from this spot is really good." Under the edge to her tone her Irish accent was subdued but noticeable. She shifted some to make sure there was room to sit without having to get his butt wet on the snow.
looking back at her notebook she frowned some at the errant line and she began to erase it. She felt a nagging in the back of her mind in her moms voice about manners and she anxiously tapped on her pencil before offering another shrug without looking up from her notebook and simply stating "Lucretcia"

Aston quickly said "Sorry!" as he noticed how the girl flinched a little at his approach, Was I too quiet? I wasn't trying to be sneaky. Hearing the girl's hesitant response combined with her slight shift to the side gave reassurance that she's okay with his presence.
Aston sat down next to her, noticing how she made sure he didn't have to sit on the snow and wanted to say thanks, though not before the girl told him her name. "Lucretcia? Nice name it sounds cool, do you mind if I call you Luc? Or Lucret? Sorry Lucretcia is a lot of syllables." Aston said with a polite smile, wanted to settle down and leave the girl alone like how she probably wanted to be, but he couldn't resister the urge to ask questions.
Lucretcia barely said anything in her introduction, and something about her vibe felt very mysterious, Like some secret wizard character in a novel. So as Aston start drawing the faint lines of the bonfire he as a good view on he asked another question. "So what school and year are you in? I just finished my first year at Hogwarts, I'm a Ravenclaw." Aston continued his drawing, hoping that Lucretcia will answer. Her blue eyes combined with her quiet demeanour made for an intimating picture, but Aston curiosity, as per usual, gets the better of him.

Lucretcia stopped her fussing over her drawing and slowly looked towards the boy as he spoke, her withering gaze returning. Luc? sounded like Luke as if she were a boy. Lucret? That made her think of Lucretius...that was a Roman poet wasn't it? She wasn't sure if she hated these names or Lucy worse. She let out an annoyed sigh to herself, she couldn't even introduce herself without causing problems or annoyance with people. Why couldn't everyone just leave her alone, human interactions are so much easier without the actual interacting part...
"I prefer Lucretcia...but if my name is such a problem for you feel free to not use it" she said coldly before returning to her drawing. She could only glower at her work now as she made a few more adjustments before the boy spoke again. Ofcourse he was a Ravenclaw...she had a knack for being problems for them it seems.
"I don't go anywhere yet. Starting Hogwarts in September-" then in a mutter under her breath she added "not beauxbatons material apparently..."
She set down her pencil and rubbed her eyes with her forefinger and thumb before glancing over at the boy's sketch. after a few moments she shrugged, mostly to herself and spoke up "...if you're drawing fire...it looks more realistic if you have the core be white. most people dont do that...just a tip. not that I care, do what you want" she last part of her speech more of a mutter to herself as she started to add color to her own work, drawing her legs in closer to herself now, almost instinctually self conscious of her drawing having someone else near by while she worked.

The girl's rather cold comment about her name certainly did hurt Aston's enthusiasm, But screw it, who cares about people's opinions anyway right? He quickly went back to normal and replied "It's not a problem per say, most people with long names tend to shorten them, I know a few that does that. Though I suppose you don't follow that same pattern, neat." Continuing his drawing Aston heard Lucretcia's mutter about her year, and something about not being "Beauxbatons material"? Weird, he's pretty sure the school just accept who ever is in the right area. Should I ask her about that? At least I should mention the thing about the locations of the schools and how that connects to the acceptance policy.
"Ah future first years, I know a few of those, got two of them in my tent. Also what do you mean by not Beauxbatons material? Sorry if this is a touchy subject but I thought the schools just accepted whoever is in the right country. Like everyone in the UK goes to Hogwarts while everyone in France goes to Beauxbatons. "
When Lucretcia looked at Aston's sketch he couldn't help but feel a little self conscious, Her stare really is something, it's kinda scary. Though that worry quickly melted away when she suggested ways to help his art improve, Ha, so she is pretty nice after all. "Well thank you for caring enough to tell me, I don't draw fire a lot, mostly I draw mountains and forests. Where I grew up there isn't much else beside nature."

❅ After a very eventful and quite traumatizing after noon, Astrid had just walked back to her tent and had let herself fall onto her pillow-bed. She fell asleep like that, red skirt still stained with black slug thing, jasmine sent all around her. If someone had tried to wake her up, or talk to her, she did not hear or listen. When the girl woke up, the sun was setting and happy chattering noises were coming from a side of the stadium. The bonfire night. Rubbing her fists on her eyes, she looked at her skirt and sighed. After changing and freshening up a little, she got out of the Crystallofolia and walked towards the animation. She was now wearing shorts and a black crop top, with knee-high socks and Vans. This evening was really something she expected, and wanted to participate in. Like, s'mores. It was a valid reason to join this evening.
Without her usual airiness, Astrid made her way to the agitation. She was not recognizing anyone and that made sense because the other Durmstrang were probably processing the whole slug problem, which was probably better than what the fifth year was doing right now. She was physically in the little crowd, but her mind was living the events of the afternoon again and again. Shivering, the girl served herself a mug of hot cocoa and sat on a large cushion. Sipping on her drink, eyes a little unfocused, her brain replayed Val kissing Greta and the slug strangling the seventh year. Romeo grabbing her and the other slug coming out of his mouth. Shaking her head, she closed her eyes, forcing herself to stop thinking about it. She was fourteen, in a summer camp with other teenagers. She was supposed to have a good time, not be assaulted by slugs. ❅

xxx | MENTIONAt this point, summer camps were ruined for him. Nothing else could possibly contest with this one.
The event was incredible, with all the different treats and a magnificent firepit standing tall before him. He could practically feel the happiness circling around the area, hugging him in its warm embrace, seeping into his body and tickling his heart. Even with the amazing "winter wonderland" setting, Aodhan was grateful for the hosts providing something still reminiscent of an actual summer... Especially when they also provided s'mores. S'mores were friggin' awesome.
Speaking of, the newly branded wizard was holding at least three fresh marshmallows on a stick. With what appeared to be practiced ease, he rotated it steadily and maintained a comfortable distance from the fire. Just how many had he prepared by now? Was this stick number three? Did that mean nine total marshmallows, or was it ten? He could feel his stomach gurgling in mild protest, but Aodhan was no weakling. These treats were going right onto chocolate with graham crackers and then directly into his mouth.
Once he deemed them ready, he casually sauntered pass various people towards the snack bar. Although he'd love to remain in his cozy spot, the ingredients there were running low and he refused to endure such a nightmare. So, the boy walked with pep in his step while humming a pop song, seemingly absorbed in his own little world. Therefore, it was really no surprise that long before Aodhan reached his destination, he tripped over a foot carelessly stretched into the open.
"Oh, crap crap, oooohh—!" he stammered, quickly twisting his body to "thankfully" crash roughly onto his back. But like a trophy, he held the relatively untouched marshmallow stick high into the air. Grinning and somewhat coughing through the ache, Aodhan could feel the panic drain out his system, "Hah, let's go! The universe got nothing on me."
Ah... that didn't get rid of the pain though.

Bonfire Night

open to interaction
A silent whisper, the crackle of firewood slowly burning to crisps. Winter's chill of night kept at bay by the fire reaching towards the sky, smoke twirling in little dances, with a soft yet sharp burn in his eyes as they were directed to the heart of the flame. Semyon was just sitting there, one one of the runed over logs, akin to a statue of fine masonry, unmoving and even blinking way too seldom for it to seem truly natural. But he sat there, in silence, almost in waiting for a event that would never occur. The firewood was telling him all the stories he would have to learn, each little pop and burst of trapped steam a story of its own, one Semyon was intent on listening to.
Those around him were a mere blend of curiosities, beings that he would acknowledge in existence but not in interaction. He would not care for who they were, whose stories they were here to tell regardless of whether it was their own. He's got a delicate pansy flower tucked by the stem between his thumb and pointer finger, carefully twirling the little flower. It brough him peace in its many meanings, yet it was the meaning of the word that would bring him comfort in this night, with his gaze trailed toward the fire pit and surrounded by whisps and ghosts of students that were strangers to the world, strangers to him. He would find solace in the solitude of company from this flower as silent thought was his companion.

❅ From where she was sitting, and towards where she was looking she could see a part of the students attending this event. She didn't really care of who was here, except if she knew them. Eyes flying over the crowd, they stilled on a boy, sitting almost perfectly across from her. She knew that boy, it was Senya, the new second-string keeper. From what she had seen, he was rather... odd. Like right now, he was sitting very still, not moving, barely blinking. A cute thing about him tho, he often seemed to have flowers with him, tonight he had a pansy flower. A little smiled appeared on her face, but the boy probably wouldn't see it.
But still, she couldn't stop thinking about the afternoon. She was playing a song in her mind to distract herself, starring at the bonfire, but she could still feel Romeo's hands on her shoulders, Valentin's slug climbing on her leg. She didn't see or hear the brunette arrive. "Hey, you're not from Hogwarts are you? Because I haven't seen you around." Astrid blinked a few times, getting her mind back to present. "Mh I'm from Durmstrang, yeah." The other girl - long brown hair, light eyes, probably taller but younger than the blonde - did not have a "Hogwarts accent", her tone seemed quite American. "Are you from Hogwarts?" If the girl was American, she was probably in Ilvermorny. The Norwegian didn't really like Ilvermorny kids. ❅

Bonfire Night
As the boy carried on the conversation despite her coldness she couldn't but feel a little guilty. Maybe he wasnt being judgmental he was just trying to be friendly? Normal kids give each others nickname's right? Not like she had alot of experience with friends to be able to really compare to. She sighed slightly to herself as she thought about it more. Maybe she was a little harsh...she should give the guy a chance to prove he sucked before she treated him like he did.
At his mention of where you live dictating where you went to school she couldnt help but narrow her eyes at that. Her mother had always told her it could be either school she got the letter from, and it was just chance. Did she know and never told her? Lucretcia had been vocal for years about wanting to go to the same school as her mother.
She wanted to call the boy a liar and storm off but his tone and demeanor wasnt really one of deception or a nasty attitude. She would have to ask her mother when she got back home.
She offered a shrug to him finally "My mother is really into painting so I have had alot of help...she always said if you love the arts it's your duty to help any artist you can..."
While there was still a coldness to her tone, the edge was gone at the very least so she seemed more withdrawn than aggressive. She started shading in some purples and oranges where the fire and night sky mixed before glancing over towards the boy again. Finally she grumbled to herself some and set down her pencil as she turned to face him a little for the first time of this conversation.
"Why are you talking to me? I dont mean like...im not saying you cant or..." she stopped and took a few seconds to compose her thoughts. "Everything about my body language says stay away, and I was a total bitch to you. So why bother?" This sounded less like an attack and more like a genuine point of curiosity.
