Blossom Ball - Trial of Orpheus
Lily speaking in English
Lily speaking in Welsh
Others speakingLily had entered the bridge, and started to walk towards the other side. At this point, little did she know what would be calling her back: her mother.
When she was deep enough on the bridge, she heard her. “Lily,” She stopped walking for a second, then remembered that it was a trick: she wasn’t really there. She would never see her mother again.
“Lily, Lily come back.” She couldn’t help it. She had to go back. No. She’s not really there. It’s a trick. I’ll be trapped if I go back now. She thought.
She looked down and swallowed hard. She’d realised that this was a bridge, over what she thought was a ravine. She was nearly in the middle now, and the other side seemed so much further away than before. What was overpowering her desire to both see her mother again and get to the other side, was her fear of heights. The underworld wasn’t for her, really. She had to get out.
Keep going, She told herself. Her mother’s voice was louder now, more than ever. But she couldn’t turn back now. She had to make it. She had to. The worst part of it was that she couldn’t even turn back: she couldn’t even see her face again.
She knew she had to see her again, but still make it to the other side.Banner by Lucia Fox

Blossom Ball - Trial of Orpheus
Entering thread from the Trial of Hecate
Arjan strolled through the grounds, making his way to what felt like the millionth trial. How long had he been doing this? It was outrageous that he did not walk in and they did not just kneel down and give him the crown! Come on! Wait - he should go back to his date. Hm. Eh, she would wait. He was worth waiting for, right? Of course he was! That was clearly rhetorical.
He heard a voice. Oh- right, yes. The trial. Orfeus or something, no? The whole challenge sounded like a piece of cake! Oh. Cake. Now he wanted cake. That sounded amazing. Good food, yes. He needed that. Was there any food here at this ball or not? What was the point of ruling it if there was no food? There had to be good. He needed it to keep his energy up!
Oh - he was supposed to enter now. Right. What was he meant to do? Just walk straight? That seemed simple. Arjan smugly laughed. He had decided that - obviously - Hogwarts expected students would fail to walk over a bridge. Like, where people just stupid or something? Who knew but he found the whole thing very laughable - genuinely believing that this was the whole challenge and there was nothing more to it. How simple!
It was not until he started to walk across the bridge that he heard a voice. A sound that was beautiful to his ears, perhaps the best noise that he had ever heard. It was also a very familiar voice. The sound of his own beautiful voice. He heard it clearly, "I knew you were amazing,".
But... he was not talking. The words did not leave his mouth, did they? Maybe they did... It did sound like something he would say. Well, if he was talking to himself that was. Few others were 'amazing' in his eyes but he was pretty dern incredible.
Praises started to flood into his ears. What was happening behind him? He had no idea. But he heard the voices as though they were from all over. There appeared to be more than just one voice. It sounded like it came from the right, left, centre, close by but also distant... Words of praise and compliments. Everything he ever knew. They were telling him how he was so powerful, how successful he had become. How he was 'worthy'. One even mentioned something about being the true 'ruler of this place', which made a whole lot of sense to him. He really was the only one who was worthy enough to be the ruler of the ball.
"I wish I was like you-" A feeble sounding voice would say, "You're so incredible-" it continued, "You're better than I could ever be." It admitted, in a voice of defeat. This voice was not his own. But he recognised it nonetheless. Words from someone who finally realised how much better he was than she was. The smirk on his lips grew. The praise and words that he knew deep down were being spoken. That's when he realised what this whole thing was. It was the truth about how people really felt about you. Well, great! He would pass with flying colours!
He almost skipped a little out of sheer glee at the thought of finally being right. All of these amazing things. He should just... turn around and see it, right? That was it.
That was when he heard it. Among all of the other voices, he heard a sturdy male voice that was not his own speak up, "I'm proud of you, son," His father's voice. He had not heard it in some months - he had been at school - but there was no mistaking it. He would know his father's voice anywhere. Lazarus was always busy working. He made time for his family whenever he could, of course but Arjan often saw him leaving to go to work very early in the morning and not returning till far too late or being out on trips for a few days. That was not what bothered him though.
It was the fact that his father and his sister seemed to have this incredibly close relationship that he did not seem to have. A part of him did not want to admit it but he was jealous. Serena was like his father's little princess or something. Whenever she spoke about Quidditch or well, anything, Lazarus always seemed to be interested. When Arjan spoke, it seemed like he almost did not care. Of course, that could not be true. Who wouldn't care about the incredible things that Arjan says? Everyone, obviously, would care!
But hearing the words that he longed to hear threw him. He wanted that. He wanted his father to tell him that he was proud of him. He was even in the Durmstrang Quidditch team now! That had to count for something, right? He was strong, athletic, awesome! He was destined to be successful! What more would his father want in a son? Of course, Lazarus was proud! He knew that! He did! Right...?
The voices continued to speak, declaring their love and adoration for him. Speaking of how he was not alone, how they were with him and how lucky they were to be with him for he was the greatest being to have ever graced the planet. The smirk did not reappear though. Instead, there was a genuine smile on Arjan's face for the briefest of moments. A sense of peace and content. All of these voices... They were what people really felt, right? Of course, they had to be. That was the only thing that made sense. There was nothing else they could be. It was just the truth. Right. Yes. Of course. That's what it was...

With another trial down, Starlee's confidence was rising. Perhaps deciding to do these trials was a good thing; she was certainly beginning to enjoy them. In any case, she wasn't really there to win, but more as moral support for Everly, who thought they could be a fun thing to do. She stepped into this next trial, not expecting to have her deepest desires exposed.
All she had to do was keep her head forward. That seemed easy enough. She placed her hands on the sides of the bridge and began to cross. She made it a quarter of the way across before she heard it. A man's voice. A really old man's voice.
"Starlee, my little granddaughter Starleeee..." it began, almost as if the man were on his deathbed. She paused, realizing now that this wasn't her wonderful, happy-go-lucky muggle maternal grandfather, but her pureblood elitist paternal grandfather. The same one who disowned Starlee's father. The man continued, "You really proved me wrong. You are the brightest witch of your age. You surpassed everyone's expectations of you. Your spellcasting is top notch. You've made the best potions I've ever seen - heck, I think the best potions that have ever been made." Her eyes started watering. All she ever wanted was the approval of her grandfather. She wasn't quite sure why, she had a wonderful upbringing away from them in Scotland. But something never set right with her when it came to him. His ideals were old fashioned and stupid. She would make her way across this bridge, to win the crown, just to show him. She wouldn't turn and run back to him. She couldn't.

trials
Orpheus. Just the name brought the story to mind. A young man, the best musician in not just Greece but the world, whose wife had died suddenly, had vowed to do everything he could to get her back from Hades, king of the underworld. Not many people, even Ancient Greek heroes, had the courage to face Death itself, but Orpheus did. He risked a perilous journey to the Underworld before coming face to face with Hades and Persephone, his wife. (Actually, now that Lucia thought about it, all the trials seemed to include Persephone in some way. It actually made sense when coupled with the posters. Oh, and wasn't this trial the only one not named after a god or goddess? Maybe that meant it would be the easiest.) Anyway, Orpheus had begged for his wife back, but Hades was unrelenting... or he was, until Orpheus began to play on his lyre. Or was it a harp? Weren't they basically the same thing? Either way, his sweet music brought tears to the eyes of Queen Persephone, who persuaded her husband to agree to Orpheus' wishes. Hades decreed that, if Orpheus could reach the world above without looking back to see if his wife was following, she would be brought back to life. But if he looked before she left the Underworld... she would be lost forever. Orpheus had managed to do as requested, but had turned just a moment before his wife would have reached the earth. A cry, and she was gone. Lost, forever, just as Hades had said she would be.
It was so romantic.
The girl leading this seemed a little nervous but soon grew into her role as speechgiver and asked the 'heroes' (namely Lucia and Carolyn, as most others seemed to already have gone) to enter. This seemed quite simple... but the girl's words brought a shiver down Lucia's spine. This probably wouldn't be simple after all. "Good luck," she murmured to Carolyn, giving her friend a squeeze on the arm before stepping forwards.
Lucia had barely moved three steps before she heard the voice.
"Lucy."
It was a voice she'd never heard before, but the sound of it stopped her in her tracks. She... she should know this person. She should know them. She loved this person, she knew she did. She knew it, just as well as she knew that yellow was the colour of Hufflepuff. So then, why couldn't she remember their name or their face? The knowledge was just out of reach...
"Lucy, I have something wonderful to tell you."
Lucia pushed herself to move forward, to make a step, but her foot wouldn't lift upwards. Something was telling her to stay. She wanted to hear this person's voice; she wanted to hear what they had to say.
"Your father."
Lucia's breath caught.
"He's alive."
The world seemed to stop turning.
"And he's coming home."
Nothing existed, nothing except for her and the thought of her father and this person she loved. Nothing.
"You know I've been looking for so long, Lucy, so long. And it's all paid off. Thank Merlin, it's all paid off. He's coming home, Lucy. He's coming home, and he's coming back to you."
Lucia finally opened her mouth, feeling as though a part of her head had been taken off. She couldn't think clearly. "You- he's- he's coming back?"
"He is. He's wanted to for so long, he told me, but he couldn't." The person paused, and concern was laced through their next words. "Lucy, are you okay? I know this might be hard for you... I'm here for you, Lucia."
Her name in their voice was like music, washing over her. The tenderness in it, the strong passion and love behind that one word... They loved her, Lucia knew that. They loved her. And she loved them. How had she not realised before just how much they meant to each other? And they had found her father. They had done that - for her.
Something clicked inside of her. This couldn't be real. No, it couldn't be. Was this supposed to be what she wanted? This couldn't be what she wanted. Something seemed to crack deep in Lucia's heart, but she lifted her foot and took one more step forwards.
"Lucy? Lucy, are you okay?"
The voice again, concerned and loving.
"Did I do something wrong? Do you not love me anymore, Lucy?"
Oh, what was she kidding? Of course this was what she wanted. Someone she loved, someone she really loved, helping to put her family back together. Helping to fix her mother. Helping to fix everything Lucia had always tried to pretend wasn't broken.
"Of course I do."
The words slipped out if her mouth without Lucia even noticing that they'd gone, but it didn't seem to matter. It felt right.
"Lucy, you won't even look at me. How can I know you love me if you won't even look at me?"
Was that despiration Lucia heard? She urged herself to take another step forwards, but only did so as though in a daze.
"Lucia. Please, just turn around... let me see your face... please, Lucy..."

Blossom Ball - Trial of Orpheus
Orpheus.
Huh.
Wasn't he the music guy who died?
She had to admit, Ami didn't remember much about this particular Greek myth. She vaguely recalled the story from some English or History class, before she had come to Hogwarts, but no details about it. Just that it had something to do with music. But the task seemed relatively straight-foward, and she figured that the little Ravenclaw host was just trying to talk it up in order to scare the participants into failing. But she would see past the girl's (nonexistent) mindgames! She could succeed, easy-peasy, lemon-squeezy.
Alas, as Ami began her trek across the bridge, she would find the task significantly harder than she had anticipated. It was a voice that stopped her- a painfully familiar voice. One that she had not expected to hear calling her name since she had last heard it rejecting her. "Ami!" the voice called, so sweet and so beautiful. Ami froze midstep, her hands still on the railing. Alexx. She hadn't seen the Slytherin Editor-in-Chief at the trial, though. Was it possible that Alexx had snuck up on her? She just wanted to turn around, just to double-check to see if she was dreaming or not... "Ami, come on. Let's dance," Alexx's voice continued, and Ami felt a pang in her heart. "It's not real..." she muttered, shaking her head slightly. "She doesn't... she doesn't like you like that," she continued to herself, clenching her jaw as she was bitterly reminded of that night back in February, when Alexx had shut down her dream for a date with the blonde Slytherin. The pain in her voice was as clear as day, her words strained and laced with bitterness.
Alexx would never like her like that. She had made that very clear. And yet... her voice was saying otherwise. Was Ami's pride really so weak that she would turn around, running back to Alexx with her tail wagging, ready to do anything she asked? She wanted to. She desperately wanted to turn around, to see if Alexx was really there on the other side of the bridge, waiting for her... calling out to her. Shutting her eyes tightly, Ami took a deep breath as she tried her best to continue forward on the bridge.

Blossom Ball - Trial of Orpheus
Entering from The Underworld
Somehow, despite all of his bulk, Arjan had disappeared. If Dolf had ever had an eye on him in the first place, he certainly didn't now, and he jogged to a halt in front of a decorated courtyard as he realized that the trail had gone cold. Under his breath, he let loose a string of curses. He cursed himself for not keeping better track of his schoolmate, cursed Arjan for calling him over and then running off, and cursed that fucking drink they'd both had for continuing to be a pain in the ass. Once he'd blown off a sufficient amount of steam, he figured the best thing to do was double back to the Underworld and wait for Arjan to come back to him. Or not. It wasn't like they were each others' dates anyway. Dolf just wanted to know where he'd gone — and how he'd gotten there so quickly.
Before he could follow that plan, Dolf's attention drifted to the scene before him, and he found himself drawn in by indomitable curiosity. The courtyard was draped in black veils, like the kind you'd see at a funeral. There were a few students clustered in one space. Waiting for something. Dolf felt a chill but shrugged it off, joining the crowd as a girl at the front of it began giving instructions. He'd thought he'd already left the Underworld by coming here. Apparently, it wasn't so easy.
The Trial of Orpheus. Dolf was familiar with the name; much less so with the story. He knew it had something to do with losing a loved one. His mother had told him once that it was a tale of weakness, although he couldn't remember why, or how it had come up in the first place. The girl in charge gestured to the path behind her and explained the task: all they had to do was cross the bridge without looking back. Oh, right, but it "wouldn't be as easy as it sounds". Dolf scoffed. Some trial. What was the worst thing they could throw at him?
They had to go alone, so Dolf watched as students stepped one by one onto the path and tried their best not to waver. Suddenly it was his turn. He narrowed his eyes, looked straight ahead, and took his first step.
At first, the only sound came from the black veils as they fluttered against one another. Dolf walked with purpose, eyes fixed on a wall at the other side of the courtyard, thoroughly enjoying this thing that Hogwarts called a "challenge." He could've sworn that he was almost at the end when the whispering of the veils turned into actual whispers. Human voices. Though they started soft and subtle, they quickly grew overwhelming, until it felt as if his parents were just one step behind him.
"There you are," his mother declared. He could almost hear the smile in her voice; she was genuinely delighted to see him. "We hardly see you anymore, Rudolf. The house feels so empty without you here. I go to all of our favorite places, but it's not the same, not without my boy." The voice sounded so real that Dolf nearly turned around out of surprise alone. His mother couldn't be here — she was at home, miles away. It was that certainty, in fact, that kept his eyes from wandering. This was the real trial. He'd underestimated his English hosts.
"Rudolf," his father's voice chimed in, "you're very far from home, aren't you? Your place is at home. Your mother and I, we need you at home. Don't you think so? Why don't you come home?"
Dolf froze. His father's first priority had always been Dolf's education. When Dolf had first arrived at Durmstrang, when he was ten, he hadn't wanted to leave his mother's side. It had been his father that had pried him from her and pushed him towards the castle, reminding him that he had a duty to succeed. Hearing him call Dolf back home...it was strange, to say the least.
"That's a terrific idea!" His mother again. "I can get your room ready. You'll catch the first train back. We'll pick you up from the station and go to dinner." Some part of Dolf was aware that he hadn't moved for some time now, but that part was small, and easily overtaken by the continuing voices. "Your father will take you to work at the Ministry. You could be there in a few years, you know. It's important work; it's steady work. And I've been meaning to tell you, Rudolf, there's a girl that's just arrived at the house at the end of the street. My guess is that she's visiting relatives, but she's about your age, and I think you should go introduce yourself. You know, I was only visiting the city too, when I met your father. And now look at us."
There was no greatness in the future that his mother laid out. Dolf would not achieve fame or exceptional fortune. But there was boundless stability, security, in her words. As an adult in Kiev, his hometown, he would always have a place. He would always belong. He knew the people there. He would never be far from his parents if he needed them. Dolf was plagued by uncertainty so very often. He tried to combat it with rules, agendas, and a stoic expression, but he had yet to find a way to shake it off for good. When his mother called him Rudolf, he felt as if he knew where he belonged.
They wanted him at home. Dolf could turn around right now, and he'd be home. Safe. Secure.
He'd never faced a more tempting temptation than this.

Blossom Ball - Trial of Orpheus
Entering thread from the Hecate
It had been a while since she had started these trials. She had no idea how many she had left but they had been quite fun so far, regardless of how she was doing so far. Serena was not here to win, after all. This was not for the title, the crown or any prizes. No no, this was entirely just for the fun and enjoyment of it.
Serena looked around, wondering what the next challenge would be. It was the trial of Orpheus, apparently. Interlocking her fingers behind her back, she rocked on her feet in a similar manner to how she did as a child. All of the trials had been so different each time that she had no idea what to expect this time and that made her kind of nervous. She swallowed, looking around in anticipation.
A girl welcomed her to the trial, briefly explaining what it was but... the explanation given made it even more confusing. It sounded so simple and yet, that made it so much worse. The girl even specified that it would not be as easy as it sounded! What in the love of Hufflepuff was going to happen behind her? It sounded all so mysterious.
When it was time, Serena took a deep breath and then started to walk straight. All she had to was walk straight. How simple. Wait- what?
For a second she thought she heard the crackling sound of a fire, as though she was back in the Hufflepuff Common Room staring into the fireplace as she often did. The cosiness and warmth of it. She could hear the sound of a gentle breeze or... was that the ocean? It was so peaceful, it was comforting, it was beautiful. A smile crossed her lips as the sounds flooded through her mind. It was so serene. There was a safety and sense of peace that she had not experienced before. It sounded so beautiful.
Voices started to emerge from the peace. It sounded like a small crowd had huddled up somewhere behind her, "Come, Serena," One said,"Pizza is doing the cutest trick!" Another said, "Hurry, beta, you don't want to miss this," Familiar voices of her family and friends. They all sounded so happy, they were all getting along and it sounded like Pizza Rat was there too!
The temptation to turn was growing stronger by the second. They sounded so happy. It was an odd sensation. Perhaps everyone was actually getting along. Wouldn't that be the most beautiful day? It would be incredible. Everyone she loved, just happy and getting along. They were safe and at peace. What more could she really want in life than that?

Wearing a deep plum chiton and cloak and grape headpiece inspired by Dionysus.
[1] [2] [3] [Hades] [Hecate] [Orpheus] [Hermes] [Persephone] [Apollo]Hecate had been tolerable; just a few spells to perform and a potion that nonetheless went without a hitch. This, however, was by far the coldest Trial yet, tiny hairs raised and alert on the back of Phaedra’s neck. The atmosphere here felt worse than the maze too, and she was finding it hard to concentrate on the hostess’s instructions. Don’t look back. It seemed simple enough, but Phaedra wasn’t naive. There was always a catch involved with these things.
Attempting to ease her shivering to no avail, Phaedra proceeded over the bridge. At first, there was no temptation at all; just the sound of wind, her footsteps, and the steady beating of her heart. Even her head was void of her usual calculating, but it wasn’t like there was anything to calculate. Not yet. Perhaps the silence indicated she desired nothing at all. Phaedra knew what her parents wanted but what did she want? It was an odd question to ask herself. For so long, the two were so intertwined that she’d lost sight of her own desires. Then, she heard it.
Gentle and breathless, the voice sang out from the darkness like a lullaby: “Baby sister! Let’s go sailing.” A young woman’s voice, no older than twenty, though had things been different she’d be nearing her thirties now, probably with children of her own. Definitely with children of her own—many that Phaedra could call her nieces and nephews. The voice was undoubtedly Pavlina's. Phaedra stiffened in place, her head jolting up with wide eyes from where she’d been staring at her feet. It’d been several years, six in fact, since that fateful accident that had robbed her of a sister, but her voice was not one she could ever forget.
Trembling, Phaedra blanked out a sentence or two before mustering up the courage to protest the ghostly declaration. Was it her sister’s ghost coming to torment her? Likely not. Pavlina didn’t die in Hogwarts. No one knew where she died. Her family hadn’t even been spared the closure of a funeral, or any answers at all. Just legal settlements and ill-wishes from competitors delighted by their pain. As much as she wanted to turn around, Phaedra kept her head forward, uncertain how long she could fight it. “…No.”
“No?” Phaedra winced, not expecting it to reply at all. She could only clench her fists and trek forward. It wouldn’t do wasting her time going back and forth with it, her, whatever it was; the trial host was probably on the other side waiting with a stopwatch, docking points for her dillydallying. Further, acknowledging it would only make her yearn its presence, like growing attached to a foster puppy one knew they'd eventually have to let go. “It’ll just be you and me. I’ll even let you at the helm for a bit. You’re old enough. Look—!”
Don’t! “Shut up. Just shut up,” Phaedra demanded, covering her ears. She didn’t have to put up with this. As the end of the bridge neared, she picked up the pace, cloak billowing behind her and the voice deafening. Pavlina, unfulfilled in her torment, spoke once more, mellow tone doing its best to garner her little sister’s sympathy and attention. “Sorry.”
“No worries. I’ll just ask Isaiah, then.”
That…that was one of the last things Pavlina had said to their father when their plans hadn’t aligned. It’d been in a different context then; happier. Innocent. But her memory applying them here was a cruel joke. Phaedra believed her sister dying alongside her fiancé was the only good of the situation—a reassurance that she hadn’t been alone in her final moments. But now she wasn’t so sure. Stomping her way to the waiting crowd, Phaedra wished her family had been a little meaner to the Muggle man, if it meant she'd be here today. She scowled and brushed away a tear.
Keep going. Turning around wouldn’t bring Pavlina back.Action: Attempt Trial.

Blossom Ball - Trial of Orpheus
IMPORTANT: I have recently changed my character’s name but the IC change is in effect from July so at this time I’m still using the old name, which was Carolyn Hunt.
Bold and blue text : English, Red: KoreanCarolyn took a deep breath and looked at Lucia. The trial of Orpheus… At first glance, there was not much going on but the whole premise of this place was somewhat unsettling. You have to do this one alone and it’s…oddly quiet. The Ravenclaw liked quiet but this felt like the calm before the great storm. Well…no turning back now I guess. A rather fitting observation. She gave the first year she recognised thanks to their horrible February experience an encouraging nod and then turned back to Lucia. “Good Luck to you too...see you on the other side.” She said with a gentle smile. Hopefully… One could never be too sure about that here.
It took a mere couple of steps for the witch to realise she was in deep trouble. This trial didn’t seem dangerous at first but nothing was ever as it seemed at Hogwarts. “Carolyn, come say hi to grandma and grandpa.” She could clearly hear her mother’s voice. “Eun-ji ya!” Her grandma’s voice followed. Full of strength just like she used to be. “Halmoni,” Grandma in Korean. The girl couldn’t help but whisper wishfully. “Dinner is ready! Come eat with us!” Her grandpa called out to her. “We have your favorite…japchae!” At last, her father’s voice joined in. They are all here, she thought for a moment. How long was it since they were all together and safe? But were they really here? Logically, the young Ravenclaw knew they couldn’t be. It made no sense, especially for the three muggle members of her family yet her heart earned to turn around and join them. “My parents are gone now….no need to worry anymore, we are all okay.” Eleanor lured her daughter with a sweet voice. Only her mother could sound like this…no one else could…right? Carolyn was so confused. No no no, this is not real, she reminded herself quickly as she kept trying to keep walking forward. Or is it? Oh this was going to be a challenge for sure.

Blossom Ball - Trial of Orpheus
Trial of Orpheus ModerationShaky hands, cold sweat, tears had been shed. Perhaps now you know what you truly desire. There was a note at the end of the bridge, glued with a purple and gold washi tapes. Please read it and do not remove it from its place.IMPORTANT!
Dear, folks. uh- trial participants. Thank you for your enthusiasm in your willingness to join the trial of Orpheus. I hope you have a great time, I mean, of course some of you feeling a little shaky and all, but yeah. Don't come for me, because I certainly did not force you all to enter the trial. You enter at your own risk. You all put this on yourself. Okay, bye. Enjoy the ball, don't do anything violent or I will yeet your bedsheets down the lake! Come to me if you need some chocolates if i haven't eat them all.-Aurora C.Z. Ranvier
Irina Afanasfeya
(iNPC Lavinia Cloven)ReducioOnce Irina stepped her foot to the Orpheus trial, her father's voice started to call her name, saying that he was proud of her, and sorry for leaving her.Though the voice kept calling and calling, she managed to not look back and keep walking, going forward. But it did not stop there. 'Don’t look back, it’s not real, it’s not real. Just keep taking one foot in front of the other.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
12+9 = 21'He doesn’t love you and will never come back. Just keep walking. Don’t think on it, he’s not real.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
15+9 = 24In the last minute, perhaps it was too much for the Koldovstoretz student. Who could blame her, it was her deepest desire after all.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
6+9 = 15
You failed the trial
Xailah AlptraumReducioThe first thing that Xailah heard was a faint sound. 'It was so faint- she wasn't entirely sure she heard anything at all.'It was not really a problem, maybe she did it because it was faint. However, that was not all the trial had to offer. As another sound started to echoed once more, 'she was more able to decipher what was being said. Her name was being called- not her full name- a shortened version of it. A nickname.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
9+10 = 19Perhaps the hat was not wrong putting her in the house of the brave. But will the lioness be able to walk straight and not look back as the sound was getting louder and louder?Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
11+10 = 21Just a couple steps more, she will pass the trial. Though, it was getting overwhelming. Xailah turned back and see the nothingness. The darkness.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
1 = Critical Fail
You failed the trial Yefim Rumyantsev
(iNPC Flash Holmwood)ReducioNo, it was not simple at all. For some people, it might be harder than lava pits and chainsaws hanging from the ceiling. Let's see if this particular durmstrang student pass the trial, shall we?
'he heard a familiar voice, one he hadn't heard in two whole years.'First sound, was not hard for the boy to ignore. In fact, he had no trouble in doing that. Then the same voice could be heard from behind.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
20+3 = 23 critical success'Yefim, my beloved son, the ritual is complete. I've come to take you away from this wicked world, I'll take you to the heavens where you belong'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
17+3 = 20Quite unfortunate. He was at the end of the bridge when he would turn around and face the voice. But the void will be the only thing that greet him.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
5+3 = 8
You failed the trial Elena JangletonReducioThere she was, stepping onto the bridge, ready to face whatever challenge that was lurking in the darkness. 'the Gryffindor couldnt quite make out what it was at first'Maybe she thought she was hallucinating, there was no doubt those voices were just an illusion inside her head. But then, 'The brunette's eyes widened as she realized it was the voice of her brother'Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
14+10 = 24As it got louder, Elena felt a little bit of struggle. The urge to turn around was very strong, but she didn't. She kept walking straight, fighting her own desire.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
8+10 = 18It wasn't real. It wasn't real. They were not there, but they were what your heart longing for, buried deep down. 'What had started out as a relatively simple task yet turned into an errand that was well beyond her capabilites.' Elena was stronger than she thought she was. When she arrived at her destination, the gryffindor would realise that she could achieve many great things if she believe in herself, put more faith in her own self.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18)
11+10 = 21
You passed the trial Adlai RodReducioSimple. That was what everyone thought the trial would be. Do not look back. Should not be so hard. But little did she know. The first sound that Adlai heard was water and someone else's foot. 'She brushed it off as something that may be beneath the bridge and the footsteps of other participants in front of her.'The undetermined sounds did not bother her that much. As she kept walking further and further, the voice slowly became clearer, 'They were gentle and kind, saying her name with what felt to be unimaginable admiration.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
18+9 = 27'Won't you turn around Addie? won't you come and sit with us?'.No. It was not real. But that was what you truly wanted.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
11+9 = 20It was not much. Just a nickname, Addie. Perhaps the nostalgia hit her like a truck. She could not handle her temptation anymore, and shortly after, she would turn around just to see a disappointment. She would see nothing.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18)
2+9 = 11
You failed the trial Pericles DraltReducioOh yes, laughable indeed. Go on and laugh till you could not breathe. Because later on the bridge, you would not be able to laugh about it anymore. Should you be scared of unimaginable things? those you never expecting? 'Tentative confidence mounted until the moment he heard it: "Pear!" 'It was a bit hard for Pericles. Maybe it was the shock of facing the unexpected. Despite his struggle, he did not turn around, yet. 'Why was she here? They didn't allow visitors to these functions... did they?' Those you deeply desire will always be in your heart, following you wherever you go, whether you like it or not.Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
2+8 = 10Fairly confident. He was a brave Ravenclaw. Though, the voices won't stop calling for him. 'What was greater: his desire to understand the voice, or his will?'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
18+8 = 26No one would blame him for wanting to understand the voice. Unfortunately, he was alone. Abi wasn't there. It was only him, the bridge, and the cold air.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18)
1+8 = 9
You failed the trial Mikael Halldorjon (iNPC Percival Rainwood)ReducioIt seemed like the trials caught the eyes of the international students. Mikael included. Though the instruction was clear enough, doesn't mean it will be the easy one.He easily ignored the first sound that came to his direction. But it got even more intense overtimes, louder, and clearer.Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
19+3 = 22Unlike the others who failed, Mikael could not seem to handle it anymore in his second try. He would stop his track and face the source of his desire, only to see the nothingness.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
3+3 = 6
You failed the trial Charles Alluring (iNPC Henry Knight)ReducioCompetitive nature, that was the reason most people joining the trial in the first place. Though, it seemed like Charles wanted achieve some type of fun by doing the trials. Maybe it was not the best way to do it. Then the first voice ringing in his ear. 'the voice belonged to his friend, maybe even close friend; Andrew 'Drew' Lycan.'Struggle. But he did it. He did not turn around to see the source of the sound. Drew was not there. He was alone. However, the voice on the bridge told him otherwise.Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
12+4 = 16It was close. If he did not hold to his determination to pass the trial, he would find himself facing the other side of the bridge, where the voice coming from. 'And suddenly the blonde fell frozen in his place.' Drew said he loved him.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
9+4 = 13It was sweet. But too good to be true. That was what he most desire. It was Drew. Apparently hearing the voice of his crush was enough, for now. And off he go, to the end of the bridge.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18)
19+4 = 23
You passed the trial Dan PalmerReducioBarefoot on the bridge, with swords on his hand. Although he felt tired, he still kept going to the Orpheus trial. Unlike the others who thought this will be the simplest task ever, the Slytherin realised it will not be as simple as it sounds. 'The voice he could never forget. Someone that he loved, and who left and never came back after the first kiss.
Oswald Vanigton.'Sad, heartbreaking, gut wrenching. In the face of struggle, Dan kept going forward. Continued to walk, further, and further.Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
5+9 =14The voice in English and German accent won't stop calling, louder.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
6+9 = 15'It isnt real. Ozzy isn't coming back. I know better than that.' You knew better than that, as you should. But in the last couple of seconds, the overpowering crushing desire to see Oswald one more time made him fail the task.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18)
2+9 = 11
You failed the trial Marshal MozorReducioSometimes, overconfidence will not do you any good. Though, this would be a nice warm up like the Gryffindor boy said, if he would pass the trial. He thought he will get murdered on the bridge. Of course not, who would do something like that? That certainly won't happen in the trial. Perhaps somewhere else, who knows?. Then a voice came, 'Accompanying those soft notes came the thoughtful voice of Eric Clapton, singing the lyrics to Tears in Heaven.'Her sister's voice. Almost knocked him over. 'It was all he wanted. Sound wasn't good enough; he needed to see her face.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
6+5 = 11And he did. He turned around. She was not there. Just him, standing in the middle of the dark bridge, without the source of his desire.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
3+5 = 8
You failed the trial Scarlett AdenReducioIt was the redheaded Gryffindor turn to do the Orpheus trial. The thought of 'deepest desire' seemed a bit comical to her. But once she heard the voice of someone dear to her, she nearly choked.Don't look back. 'It was so realistic, so cocky, so Annabeth - that Scarlett wanted to sprint back and fling herself in Anna's arms.' Just keep walking, and never turn back.Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
11+6 = 17'No, no, no, no, no.' The hat sorted her in the house of the brave for a reason. Perhaps this would be where her braveness show its face. 'There were people behind her. Real people. Her friends. Fiona. Her parents - nice again. And Anna.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
10+6 = 16'How could she not turn back? How?' Barely make it out alive and well. But she did it. Not one second Scarlett turned around to face the voice. She was indeed, a Gryffindor.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18)
12+6 = 18
You passed the trial Jayden Holt (iNPC Andrew Vance)ReducioHaving an attention span of a goldfish was not always a bad thing. Perhaps this will lead Jayden to victory. She was an odd one. Who would giggle in such a serious situation?Maybe, just maybe, the other needs to learn one or two from this girl. It seemed like she would do the task easily.Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
14+10 = 24Smart. 'perhaps if she closed her eyes, and covered her ears, and picked up the pace' Why didn't anyone do the same?Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
12+10 = 22As she zoomed away, didn't even realised she was at the end of the bridge. Free of the fangirling moment that was not so overwhelming.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18)
16+10 = 26
You passed the trial Cassie McGregor-Martin (iNPC Lucia Fox)Reducio'Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin had practically invented the art of never looking back' did she now? Interesting. Let's see about that, shall we?
The first few steps were not so scary. Until she heard her mom's voice.Startled? perhaps. But she did not look back, maybe she did really master the art of never look back, ever again. But as the other voices join in, like a magnificently cursed choir, as if they were standing there, behind her,Wisdom roll (wdc 6)
8+7 = 15She could not stand it anymore. the art of never look back being thrown out of the bridge. But she would see disappointment, because there was no one on the bridge beside her.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12)
2+7 = 9
You failed the trial Iris Fields (iNPC Katrina Walker)ReducioFun. Getting her blood pumped. Trial was her answer. The girl seemed to notice how eerie the Orpheus trial was, but still think it was an easy one. Off she went to the bridge. 'She wasn’t too far along before she heard something.'It was a familiar voice. Her grandmother's. Apologizing and all that, though it was not real. That was just what she wanted to happen, that was her desire.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
11+7 = 18Louder, and louder. 'What if it was really real? What if her grandmother was actually there? Being nice to Iris for the first time in her life.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
6+7 = 13She could easily turn and face the void. But she kept walking, and finally, out of the bridgeWisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
17+7 = 24
You passed the trial Andrew Lycan (iNPC Rose Moon)ReducioDo not ever start the trial hoping the girls won't have a chance on the bridge, playful or not, it will bite you back in the face. Once he stepped on the bridge, a voice started to surround him.'A sibling- a sibling! Drew had wanted to have a sibling for the longest time.' His parents gave him a wonderful news. His dream finally come true, or is it? 'He told himself to not look back. He squared his shoulders. This was not real. He lifted his chin and kept walking. He balled his fists up to stop them from shaking violently.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
9+4 = 13Do not look back. Simple enough, hard to do. The voice overpowered his determination to get out from the bridge without looking back. Seeing his soon to be sibling, only to witness the darkness.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
5+4 = 9
You failed the trial Elisabeth ErnerReducioThe challenge was fairly simple, no running, no defeating monster, just do not look back. Unless you are a perfectionist, nothing will help you pass the test. 'There was something that vaguely sounded like "peace", and then there seemed to be voices of her family and her friends'.Maybe it was the unclear voices, or perhaps it was just Elisabeth being a brave kid. Ignoring them should not be too hard.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
11+8 = 19'It was one bad thing because the voices started to get annoying - unintelligible and buzzing, as if there were millions of bees behind her.' Elisabeth had no issue at all. She kept walking forward as if nothing was bothering her.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
20 = Critical SuccessAs her feet stepped on the end of the bridge, the voices would stop. And she did pass the challenge without any hesitation.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
20 = Critical Success
You passed the trial Dealla PrinceReducioIt should not be too challenging, not for the duelling captain, the half blood prince. Nothing would make her curious enough to turn around, she said.'It was a woman's voice, one unknown to Dee, and she frowned.' It was not just a random voice. No. Then a man's voice, what seemed like his father's echoed on the bridge.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
19+10 = 29Again, Dealla did not faltered. Although the temptation to look back getting stronger and stronger, she determined to keep walking.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
13+10 = 23With her chin high in the air, each of her steps lead her to the light. No more voices of the unknown, no more voices of her own desire.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
10+10 = 20
You passed the trial Michael MillerReducioJust keep walking. What was so hard about that? Little did Michael know, the first sound of his desire would startle him to the ground."Come along now, Michael, your brother misses you". And that was it. He did not spend a long time on the bridge. One voice was all it took for him to turn around, but he was alone.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
2+3 = 5
You failed the trial Everly CharltonReducioEasy, but eerie. She knew better than most people. It was more of a warning, an unintentional one, of course. But then, 'The sound of a sweet, light-hearted melody, something Everly could place but she couldn't tell what it was.'The sweet lullaby was the thing that freeze her. She could not walk further. Shortly after the mysterious melody played in the background, she looked back only to see nothing.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
1 = Critical failure
You failed the trial Alan VanesReducioThe Gryffindor prefect was one of those rare people who decided to ran on the bridge. Unlike Jayden Holt, the international student who succeed on her 'running away from the voice', Alan slowed his jog, slowly, turning into slow steps. His first attempt on ignoring a bunch of creatures voices was not particularly a hard one. 'How could he possibly not look at the creatures? This was a one in a lifetime opportunity after all right?'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
7+5 = 12In fact, they were not real. He was the only living thing standing in the middle of the path. However, his own hum could not block the voices as they were intensified in volume. Then he looked back.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
3+5 = 8
You failed the trial Nichlas Forsberg (iNPC Alan Vanes)ReducioDeepest desire could be scary and overwhelming. Especially when you could hear it, but could not see it. It was the curious feeling from the boy that led him to participate in the trial. Perhaps hearing his desire will be enough, for now.'Voices he was very familiar with, though with a tone he hadn't heard in years.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
1+15=16'The desire to turn around and embrace that figment of past was huge,' but he kept walking, further from the sound.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
11+15 = 26He could see the end of the bridge clearly. It was indeed, a battle with his own self. But at the end of the day, he managed to overcome his urge to turn around.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
4+15 =19
You passed the trial Florian LeRoy (iNPC Starlee Kennedy)ReducioHe almost snorted. There was a high chance he would received a death glare from Aurora as she happily welcome him to meet what could be the end of his cocky attitude. 'It didn't seem like anything he would care about, but as he continued forward,''the rumble grew louder... louder... until you could begin to hear a massive group of voices.' And there he faced the challenge. But it did not seem like Florian was struggling at all.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
17+9 = 26'For a split second he almost turned his head backward, hoping to praise his fans for their love of himself, but he quickly froze, trying to get his thoughts to return back to reality.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
18+9 = 27Although his confidence growing weaker each seconds, he did manage to ignore the voices, almost completely. He would then exit the bridge and continue to be as cocky as ever.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
11+9 = 20
You passed the trial Gregori Erkens (iNPC Ginvera Tsuchiya)ReducioAnother careful, smart, and observant person had join the trial. This time, an Ilvermorny student. He thought it would be a boggart or some sort, but of course, he would be wrong.'And it was not even a scary sound like a taped monster's voice from a film, but rather a very pleasant one.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
18+10 = 28Without any hesitation, he kept on going, not giving the voices a single attention.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
20 = Critical Success'As much as this gave Gregorí a sense of thrill, he sadly knew that everything was just an illusion.' And with his witty brain, he passed the challenge.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
17+10 = 27
You passed the trial Melody Westmoore (iNPC Calypso Starling)ReducioMaybe you know what your fears are. But desire? some adults even still searching for theirs. 'Mel took her spot at the Trial's start, and set off.'For a minute or two, there was almost no audible sound she could grasp on. 'And then- a sound drifted out of the darkness and began to wrap its way around her like silk, ensnaring her.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
16+5 = 21Almost turning back, but she did not. 'No. Do not turn around, do not turn around, don't, don't.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
7+5 = 12To be free, oh, what's the meaning of free? Perhaps Melody could think of that later. But for now, she is free from the mysterious sounds.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
19+5 = 24
You passed the trial Santario MartinReducio'Be careful what you wish for.' If only students of Hogwarts have that as their motto, maybe their school life will not be as chaotic as it is. As Santario walked on the bridge, waiting for some voices to come creeping in.'Her father’s voice lilting in an Irish accent came from behind, and Santario’s feet stalled as if she had been frozen in place.' But did not turning around, at least not yet.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
17+8 = 25'Her brows knitted together as she swallowed hard, closing her eyes.' She would continue to walk. Ignoring the voices, those were fake. She knew better than that.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
20 = Critical Success'“Maman… Papa…” The words barely audible as they escaped her lips.' Then she looked back.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
6+8 = 14
You failed the trial Lydia CooperReducioAgain, another student underestimated the trial. The voices behind her kept changing, from the Gryffindor boy, to her grandmother.'She took a deep breath and forced herself to take another step, but her Grandma's voice got louder, closer.' It was only a second after that, she would turn around and face the nothingness.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
1 = Critical Failure
You failed the trial Anastasia BeckettReducioWinning was the end goal for Ana. Will she achieved the goal? maybe winning was her desire after all.'Her name faded from the air as quickly as it had come and Ana fought her reflex to glance over her shoulder.' Tried to use her logic by thinking it was probably the wind. Or perhaps a some type of auditory hallucination.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
4+9 =13'Perhaps not the wind then. Ana forced herself to walk more quickly, swallowing hard and ignoring the tears that sprung to her eyes'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
15+9 = 24And at last, she refused to fight back her desire to see her mother. But she wasn't thereWisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
2+9 = 11
You failed the trial Evelynn DecipioReducioHer date went to the trial before her. Will she fail miserably just like Marshal did? or will Evelynn stand tall despite the challenge that she will face?Another Rafael's voice. She was not the first person in the trial who heard his voice, but that was not important. 'Evelynn brushed the sound of someone shouting away, fixed on the task at hand. She took a step.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
12+10 = 22Some footsteps could be heard from behind her. It felt so real. 'His voice was closer than she expected. Low. Somewhat husky. Almost a whisper in her ear.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
5+10 = 15A realisation would come to her, slowly. It was fake. Rafael was not there with her, he was not apologising to her. In fact, Evelynn was alone, in the middle of the dark bridge. Without giving it another time to waste, the Gryffindor seeker would walk away, into the other side of the blossom ball.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
16+10 = 26
You passed the trial Rafael D'SpacitoReducioIt was hard for the Gryffindor quidditch captain. He might be tough on the pitch, but perhaps, not on the bridge.'He could see her beyond his eyelids, even now, just beyond reach, just behind his back… surely, a title couldn’t mean as much as seeing his sister again…' And that was the time he knew he failed.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
1 = Critical Failure
You failed the trial Lily CawthiReducioIt was now time for the Hufflepuff to step onto the bridge. 'When she was deep enough on the bridge, she heard her. “Lily,” She stopped walking for a second'She would then continue to walk, reminding herself that it was all a trick. It was not real. 'No. She’s not really there. It’s a trick. I’ll be trapped if I go back now.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
17+8 = 25Unfortunately, the feeling to see her lost one once again was way too strong for Lily. Slowly turning her head around, to only realise she just failed the task.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
3+8 = 11
You failed the trial Arjan Orberoi (iNPC Serena Towers)ReducioOh you're so smug, Mr. Perfectly Fine. Shortly after he walked forward, the voice of his own, the most beautiful sound ever existed according to him, started to echoed like a lullaby. If a voice could sparkle, it would be Arjan's voice. Filled with glitter and stars. Then it changed to be someone else's voices.'It was the fact that his father and his sister seemed to have this incredibly close relationship that he did not seem to have.' His strong, athletic, beautiful face, suddenly lost all of the smugness, as he looked back to realised he was alone.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
2+3 = 5
You failed the trial Starlee KennedyReducioBeing confident is great. If it is not too much. The Slytherin duellist would enter the Orpheus trial without any expectation of her desire would be. Then there was 'A man's voice. A really old man's voice.''realizing now that this wasn't her wonderful, happy-go-lucky muggle maternal grandfather, but her pureblood elitist paternal grandfather. The same one who disowned Starlee's father.' But he kept her head high, ignoring everything he said, or what Starlee wanted him to say.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
12+8 = 20'Her eyes started watering. All she ever wanted was the approval of her grandfather.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
15+8 = 23With her determination to win. To prove him her worth, she finished the challenge, with a little hesitation. But the most important thing was she did it.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
12+8 = 20
You passed the trial Lucia FoxReducioAh yes, the hopeless romantic Lucia Fox. Soon, she would experience the same thing that Orpheus felt when he lost Eurydice. Or maybe not, and complete the ball trial. 'Lucia had barely moved three steps before she heard the voice.''Nothing existed, nothing except for her and the thought of her father and this person she loved. Nothing.' If someone told you, the dearest person of your life was alive and well, and will be coming home soon, it would be hard to refuse the urge to look back. Though, Lucia didn't.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
17+8 = 25'Something clicked inside of her. This couldn't be real. No, it couldn't be.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
18+8 = 26'Was that despiration Lucia heard? She urged herself to take another step forwards, but only did so as though in a daze.' The next thing she knew, she was on the other side of the bridge. The trial was completeWisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
17+8 = 25
You passed the trial Ami ProcoppioReducioOf course she thought the tiny Aurora was bluffing, when the truth was, a little bit. 'Ami began her trek across the bridge, she would find the task significantly harder than she had anticipated'Another love story in the midst of a trial. 'Ami froze midstep, her hands still on the railing. Alexx.'Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
9+6 = 15Ami realised that it was all happening inside her head. Wanting the headliner chief to like her like that. 'She desperately wanted to turn around, to see if Alexx was really there on the other side of the bridge, waiting for her'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
6+6 =12But no, she would ignore her calling. And proceeded on walking towards the spring area. You did it Ami *claps*Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
18+6 = 24
You passed the trial Rudolf Novikov (iNPC Adam Harrington)ReducioDespite his realisation on the level of hardness of the task, he still wondered 'What was the worst thing they could throw at him?'. Definitely nothing deadly. 'He could've sworn that he was almost at the end when the whispering of the veils turned into actual whispers.'Struggle after struggle. It was tempting him to turn around.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
4+5 = 9'They wanted him at home. Dolf could turn around right now, and he'd be home. Safe. Secure.' He made his choice. And he will regret it. Because none of them are real.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
5+5 = 10
You failed the trial Serena TowersReducioA sweet Hufflepuff walked in with a slight nervous feeling inside. 'For a second she thought she heard the crackling sound of a fire, as though she was back in the Hufflepuff Common Room'She would smile from hearing the beautiful sound behind her. But she was not that tempted to turn around and see the scenery before her.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
8+13 = 21'Voices started to emerge from the peace. It sounded like a small crowd had huddled up somewhere behind her'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
2+13 = 15Happiness, peace. That was all she wanted. Serena would know for a fact what she heard along the bridge was fake. An illusion, perhaps. Although it was a bit hard, but she managed to walk away without giving it a single glance.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
5+13 = 18

Phaedra StavrouReducioYes, the air seemed colder, uninviting, and eerie. Phaedra would walked over and stepped on the bridge. 'gentle and breathless, the voice sang out from the darkness like a lullaby''Was it her sister’s ghost coming to torment her? Likely not' She was not really here, though she will always follow you, because you wanted her to.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
7+15=22'Keep going. Turning around wouldn’t bring Pavlina back.'Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
17+15=32But Phaedra did look back in the last minute. And she was right, it won't bring her sister back.Wisdom roll 3 (wdc 18) :
1+15=16
You failed the trial Carolyn HuntReducioQuiet is always nice. Though, this was not the kind of serenity anyone would want. It was not serene at all. 'It took a mere couple of steps for the witch to realise she was in deep trouble.'The sound of Carolyn's family together, happy, and safe made her had the urge to turn around.Wisdom roll (wdc 6) :
5+10=15'Only her mother could sound like this…no one else could…right?' She knew it was not real. But the temptation was above her capability. And she turned around.Wisdom roll 2 (wdc 12) :
1+10=11
