Nikita didn't know if it was just her. But she heard whispering. She let her eyes fall onto the flames. She looked around, did anyone else hear them? She watched the flames flicker with awe. As if in a trance. She cleared her throat and turned around, flushed and creeped out. She didn't know anyone here, and she was feeling very exposed in her dress. In the crowd. With no date by her side.
People would begin to notice if she didn't have a date. And now she actually wanted one. She was really freaked out right now and wanted that boy with her. He was nice and kind. She attempted to look over the heads of others, looking for her date. Her mother had been so excited when she found out she had a date. Nikita didn't have the heart to tell her they weren't in love.
She had already tried but she felt no feelings towards anyone. Except for hate to Charles. And she barely even knew Levi. But watching others she knows how to at least act the part. Just act like you're in love. You'll fit in. And that little voice she tried to ignore spoke up. And not feel lonely. She looked around. And alone.
She started to walk around the party, her hands shaky, as she stayed away from the flames. Where is he? She frowned as she spun around. She sighed, and eventually just walked around. She looked up. Levi. She was so relieved as she walked over to him. He looked terrified. "Hey, you alright?" She asked, as she walked up. She looked at his outfit. It fit the whole "blossom" theme. "Nice outfit." She said, actually meaning it.

"Oh, trust me, I definitely understand the face-touching issue," Eris sighed, "but it definitely looks worth it! You did a fantastic job. Especially if you're not used to putting so much!" The cheerful girl held up her camera. "Mind if I take a picture? I can take an extra for you, if you'd like!"
She listened eagerly as the lovely Medusa explained her choice, her round eyes growing rounder and wider in astonishment. Then her black-painted lips split into a sinuous smile.
"You couldn't be more right," the pigtailed girl agreed. "But you know, there's a secret. Aside from the cursed monsters' stories being the most well-known of the Ancient Greeks, they were very important to the gods and goddesses. Without them, the divine beings wouldn't have had as much tribute and worship devoted to them as they did. So, while it's true the gods are fickle, they also needed their monsters and were little without them or the mortals who sacrificed and prayed to them. After all, without monsters to cause them turmoil and strife, what would the mortal have needed to ask the gods to save them from?"
Gleefully taking the hand offered to her, Eris made a squeak almost like a rabid fangirl being offered a handshake by her most revered idol before accepting with gratitude. "Yes, that's right! I'm Eris; Eris Livius. Thank you so much! It's such a pleasure to meet you, Santario! What a pretty name! Sheesh, everything about you is so gorgeous!" She visibly perked at the mention of Santario having a camera of her own.
"What?! Well, I guess that has its own advantages and it's admirable you tried to do that. But if you ever find yourself itching for a picture, feel free to borrow mine! I can't imagine going anywhere without it." She rubbed her cheek against the possession as if it were a beloved pet.
"Oh...that said...I saw a boy talking to you earlier," she continued, gaze flickering back toward the crowd. Her enthusiasm dimmed somewhat into a tone of seriousness. "...Was he...bothering you?"

Blossom Ball - Underworld

Another ball, another disaster. So many happy faces, smiling and laughing not ready for the terror that could pop out at any moment. A tall figure stood in the corner of the dark room, the blue flames dancing across his face, reflecting in his dark brown almost black eyes. Hands tucked neatly into the clean white pants wrapped around his legs, a striped shirt adorned them. Sure he stuck out like a sore thumb compared to girls in long flowy dresses and boys in what looked to be bed sheets, but he preferred it that way. Blending in is for the weak, those who wish to disappear under the eyes of others. Maybe at one point in his life he felt like that, but not anymore. He wanted to stand out, face danger head on and protect others even at the cost of his life. "I will not be selfish or scared, whatever happens tonight, I am ready." The boy mumbled, pushing himself off the wall and out of the darkness.Playing as my Durmstrang iNPC Milosh Rehnquist as shown above (stats+abilities are included for mods)
Milosh ran a hand through his bouncy hair, seeing the curls spring back to their previous position. He scowled at them. Gel never worked and he didn't know exactly how to even style hair so oh well. The boy shifted his position, waiting in the middle of the room for his supposed "date". Yeah... asking her wasn't all that formal but hey better to have a date than not? Plus she was pretty and he could have a good banter with her so the company would be nice this evening. He let out a sigh, he was not the most patient person. His head tilted down to his wrist but he blinked and forgot he wasn't wearing a watch. Had he forgotten it? Nope, it just didn't cross his mind he would be waiting for anything. Who knows, it also could cause a problem and be uncomfortable if he had to duke something out with an evil spirit or what not.
His eyes roamed across the room again, not noticing much besides people chatting, arguing or waiting for their partners. He turned his gaze to the drink table, narrowing his eyes suspiciously at them. The room smelled weird, but the closer he got to the drink the worse it seemed to be. It wasn't horrible in a gag sense, but not pleasant either. The boy decided to avoid any food or drink this night, he'd rather starve than bouncing off the walls, literally and end up in the Hospital Wing for example. His foot tapped, slightly inpatient before he stopped quickly. He probably looked like a prick standing there. The boy sighed, running a hand through his hair again, a bad habit of his. Patience, she will come. It's not like she'd not show up right? The boy bit his lip in thought, the small worry looming over his shoulders. Milo closed his eyes, letting the small breeze ruffle the collar of his shirt, his head tilted back at an angle. Just breathe. Stay calm. Be on alert and most importantly, enjoy the night.

Blossom Ball - Underworld
Interacting with Milo Durand (@Delilah Stewart)
Adjusting her golden laurel headpiece, Serena fidgeted a little as she led the way to the courtyard, figuring she likely knew the school a lot better than her date did - at least, she hoped she did. She had no idea how or why but for some strange reason, she was asked to the dance by one of the guests of the school. A part of her was super nervous about this. She normally would go to these events alone - or not at all. Having a date was... strange. Was she meant to do anything differently? Did she have to spend all of her time with him? What if she wanted to eat or drink and he wanted to chat with someone or she wanted to dance and he didn't? She had no idea what the rules were!
Wait - were there even rules? Maybe they were more expectations. Oh, she had no idea. Even at the pureblood parties, she would go to, she would always feel awkward when someone asked her to dance or their parents forced them to dance. After the dance, she never knew if she could just politely thank them and leave or if she had to stay for another. Nonetheless, she had been asked and thought it was only polite to say 'yes' - as friends, of course. There was nothing romantic about this, to clarify. She did not even know the guy! Asides from basic information like his name and school and that he was kind of cute. But that was sort of... all she really knew about him. They barely spoke the same language!
The second part of her was nervous because she had no idea what to expect out of this ball. The last one she attended had not been so bad. In fact, she dared to say that things were getting better. It was almost safer. However, there was always that underline fear that things would go horribly wrong yet again. She did not want Milo to be involved in that. Hell, she did not want herself to be involved in that either. But the words that her Head of House had told her almost a year ago rang true in her mind. She knew she had to stay strong and share her light with others. Words that would make no sense to anyone but herself. Her hand checked her pocket, containing her wand. It was neatly tucked away.
Serena's outfit was actually one she had asked her family to send her from home. She had been inspired by these beautiful white and gold 'greek' style sarees that she had seen when she came up with this idea. She could not really wear a saree. Mostly because she did not have one but also because they were painfully hard to put on. She had no idea where to even begin. Perhaps that was something she would ask her parents to teach her over the holidays. Then again, sarees were also not comfortable to walk in from what she had heard. Running in them might not be an option. Nonetheless, she was inspired by these outfits she had seen and the image of them flashed into her mind when she was trying to find an outfit for this event.
As such, she opted to wear a white anarkali with gold embroidery that she had already. It was a white 'blouse' with a long skirt attached. However, there was a large seam cut down the front too. Underneath it, she wore the white trousers that came with it. It also came with a white dupatta with a gold border that essentially was a bit like a long rectangle scarf. She kept that over one shoulder for now but there were different ways to wear it. At a glance, the outfit would look like a beautiful dress with a long shoulder scarf on it. However, the seam meant that there was a lot more flexibility in moving as she was not restricted in her movement at all. She wore a pair of white and gold earrings, with a gold metal 'laurel' style headband that she had found.
Milo had offered to meet at the Great Hall beforehand and walk her to the event. She got super nervous - though she was not entirely sure why - when she arrived at the entrance. Socially awkward, perhaps. He was dressed so smartly - and not quite on the theme. Perhaps she looked a little silly trying to actually go for the theme? Serena knew her outfit was not completely 'Greek' but it was the best she could do and she never really got to wear her Indian outfits so it was a perfect excuse to. Nonetheless, when she saw him, she managed to get out a "H-hey there," without looking terribly nervous, hopefully, and a "Are you looking forward to the event?" as they walked towards the Blossom Ball. She honestly had no idea what else to really say or ask but she would respond to any questions he had and make small talk.
Arriving at the Courtyard not too long later - much to her relief, as she was not sure how much he would enjoy her awkwardness - Serena looked around, mostly to take in everything but also to find conversation starters. The food and drinks tables were usually good conversation starters, at least in her mind. However, today was a little different. The dark, heavy vibes of the Underworld immediately put her on edge a little. It was not completely pitch black dark. However, there was something about it. A mysterious, creepy vibe that she could not really get over and did not really enjoy. She took a step closer towards Milo without even realising she was moving. It was a subconscious action from a girl that had been scarred by the dark.
The whole decor of the Underworld was definitely not her cup of tea. Seeing that they could continue and go across to another area, that looked like it was full of more light, she would look towards Milo, "It looks like the festival extends over there," hinting that she very much would prefer to go that way and not stay here. This was just a bridge anyway, not necessarily somewhere to stay. As she looked around the room, she spotted the very familiar face of her older brother. Well... she was definitely leaving! "Let's see if we can find some more food or drinks over there," She added, suddenly taking his hand and attempting to tug him towards the Spring Festival as though she had a renewed sense of confidence. Mostly, she just wanted to get out of the dark and away from her brother before this whole thing became a scene or anything went wrong.

Winnie's Gown
Winnie smiled brightly at her fellow redhead, Ruka Burnett-Tân, when she realized he wasn't angry. "You look good in flowers. Pink and green are my favourite colours." She admitted, although this wasn't really news worthy considering what she was wearing. "Thank you, it was my mum's, she modified it for me. My mum has a huge flower garden, maybe you can visit one day, you're from Ireland too, right?" She was getting ahead of herself, but she knew her parents would at least want to make Ruka supper after they found out he had saved her. She was their only child, after all.
Winnie turned her head at the sound of a familiar voice and smiled. It was Amelia Faye, a girl she recognized from both her classes and the bike riding errand from a week or so ago. She was looking dazzling in her dress and gold accented accessories. "Hello, Amelia! You look beautiful." She quickly shook her head, her dangling blossom earrings hiding the sides of her neck. "Not at all, Ruka and I were just getting some punch--..." Her smile disappeared suddenly when her hero walked away from her. She was left staring at the back of his head. "... But I guess not?" She tilted her head. She could feel her curiosity clawing at her throat. She had to see what had caused Ruka to leave the conversation so suddenly. She turned back to Amelia and offered her a small smile. "Follow me!" She said, grabbing the young Hufflepuff's hand and leading her through the flooding crowd of costumes and characters from Greek mythology.
"Sorry about this, Amelia, but after the stories about last year's ball, I don't want to get separated." She also wanted to be able to protect the young Hufflepuff, and it would be easier around a crowd. She followed the third year all the way over to a rather grand looking Hufflepuff boy who smelled like flowers, but also, perhaps most interestingly, was the boy dressed up in a satyr's costume. Upon the sight of him, Winnie dropped her friend's hand and stared, her mouth agape as a dark red blush started to creep up her face and her heart beat quickened. His soft red hair with those brown highlights, and those hazel eyes. Not to mention, he was dressed up as a cute little animal. Fireworks went off inside of her head and she suddenly felt dizzy.
"Oh..." She gasped suddenly, her voice drowsier and more fragile than she could ever imagine it, "I... Winnie... Is me." What? She internally screamed, she had to say something. ANYTHING ELSE. "Goat." NO. NOT THAT.

It was ridiculously difficult not to burst into laughter at Eden's reaction, particularly when he was pushed back with two fingers as if the other boy was loathe to touch him - which, admittedly, he probably was. Instead, however, Jack managed to keep his silent laughter contained behind a tight prison of grinning teeth. That was, at least, until he had recomposed himself enough to be able to open his mouth again in order to reply.
"I? Ah, me, the god of pastures, nature, goats, and shepards - I rather like my smell. Flowers, though; don't they smell nice to attract others? Why do you seem surprised I came to you, then? Especially if you have no one else to accompany you this evening?" He extended an arm. "Coming here alone means you can meet more people here. Come; let us walk together."
He had hardly made his offer, however, when a familiar dorm mate in blue and copper showed up; the liar and snitch of the Severus Snape dormitory. Instantly, Jack's nose wrinkled in distaste.
"Centaurs are part horse, you idiot," he shot back at the comment mentioned near him. Unfortunately for the goat boy, it was not the only thing Matt had to say. The next words were directed, supposedly, at Eden.
Jack's face nearly went as red as his hair. "I do not!" he hissed, stomping one hoof loudly in annoyance. "Don't listen to this pathological liar, Flower. He's a bit too fond of stories for his own good."
And then there was Ruka as if right on que. He smirked appreciatively at the other boy's smooth response to Mathias' words, clapping him on the shoulder in greeting and thanks when he arrived. "'Stalker' is more like it," Jack corrected Ruka. "Even if he's more likely to make up things about me than actually watch me doing stuff and reporting it to anyone he can."
Then he turned to the Gryffindor. "I'm glad you found me. I was just about to go looking for you. And it's funny; I was just wondering what time period this fellow was from myself." He gestured absently toward Mathias.
As if all of that wasn't enough, a new girl - someone Jack didn't think he'd seen before except briefly at an errand or two - suddenly showed up. Her light blue eyes and ivory complexion were a sharp contrast to the copper hair and crimson blush that nearly blotted out the freckles sprinkled across her nose. His own eyes, with their contacts to appear more goat-like, widened and then blinked at her as she told him her name before proceeding to call him 'goat. He stared for another second, then cleared his throat.
"Ah...hello...Winnie. Another flower nymph, I presume...?" he asked with an uncertain smile. "I am the Great God Pan."

“Thank you again. I practiced a lot. And yes, please, you never need to ask to take my photograph, and I would love a copy. It is not often I get my own photo taken.” She would offer a small pose for Eris placing her hand out in a come hither to your doom kind of motion, an expression of superiority and danger in her eyes. A look she had learned from her grandmother and something fitting of her attire inspiration. Once the photos were taken, she would return to normal and listen eagerly as Eris explained her ideals about the Gods and their monsters something that made it very clear that the girl was quite well educated.
“You are right, and that is very astute of you.” As Eris made a squeak when Santario offered her, her hand she smiled softly. The girl was making her feel like she was some sort of famous person or something. As the young girl piled on the compliments, Santario blushed enough for the red to tinge her porcelain fine complexion on the edges of her makeup. She was not used to this kind of attention. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Eris. You look quite lovely yourself.” Santario’s smile broadened as she watched Eris rub her face onto her camera. This girl was positively adorable. “I promise that you’ll know if I should require it; that is very kind of you to offer.”
Then, however, she brought up the boy, and Santario’s smile faded her face returning to the expressionless that most were accustomed to seeing. She looked over at the entrance to the happier area where she had seen him go. “He is bothersome in general and bad news, but I would be a liar if I did not say that I do require to speak with him about something. While you do not know me, if I could offer you one piece of advice, Vladimir Athanatos is not someone you want to have dealings with. Unless, of course, you like to gamble with your life. The things that go wrong around here… He has a hand in it somehow. Maybe not directly, but somehow.” Just like the boy may not have killed her parents, but he was somehow connected to who did. Their little foray during the last summer told her that, and if it had not been for Eris coming up to her, she might have had half a mind to follow him, but she had waited so long a little longer would not kill her. Besides she did not want to approach him while he was in that mindset.

Jack would give his warning - 'pathological liar' was a good term for what he was. In truth however, 'artist' was a better choice. One of his friends would even arrive, the statement of well any one of the things he had mentioned was likely to draw the smaller (I think) doppelganger to his side.
"You sure know a lot of what he's been up to all week."
"Dormmates," Mathias quickly smiled in reply. It was rather self-explanatory at that point. "If you can drag him out of his room, it is real hilarious to watch," he offered his unsubstantiated evidence.
"You didn't tell me you had an admirer, Jack."
"Well, admirer is a bit of a strong word," Mathias guffawed. "More like roommates that occasionally practice kissing. Dorm pastime, surely the same in your dorm too," he waved his hand dismissively. A change of subject was surely at hand. In other words, an additional victim before Jack got boring. Jack was one of those ones that spent more time instilling logic into matters, making his head hurt in the end.
Levi Drakos, an overzealous sociable boy that had ruined Mathias' evening of solitude. It was something that Mathias wanted to make the lion suffer for. It was not a reasonable distaste that he had for Drakos but feelings were feelings and he was a slave to them. He initially considered saying something outlandish, problematic underpants' shenanigans, a crush on the magical creatures professor... There were options but he would need to think quickly if he wanted to screw up is evening.
He would come to a conclusion very quickly once he found the first year in the company of a moderately attractive girl. Nikita (Paige Grant), his either close friend or more likely his date. Well, this was easy to ruin. "One second guys," Mathias would announce as he turned away from the potentially steely gaze of his dormmate, a single digit extended skyward. A bit of fun would be had with goat-boy later, he needed to ruin Levi's night first.
Yes, there was a priority list.
"Honey," he announced as she sauntered (yes, sauntered) over to Levi. "I am sooo like glad you made it here, I was afraid you were going to stand me up again," he claimed. A lie, not that much he ever said was ever true. He was likely overdoing the walk and the pose, he did not have much practice on the subject.
Was Levi prepared for what would follow? Probably not, even liars had their limits but Mathias was committed. So when he attempted to plant his arms on Levi's shoulders, ignoring but making certain that Levi's date (Nikkita) was immediately adjacent. He would attempt to pull Levi in for a kiss. Yes, there would be tongue. [Details to follow really depend on my relative successes or failures here.]

She turned towards the boy, who had introduced himself as Ruka. He seemed to be distracted with something in the distance, he said a quick goodbye and was away before Amelia could even reply. Amelia turned her attention back towards Winnie and laughed when she mentioned the punch, "I wouldn't drink the punch. It seems... weird."
Faster than Amelia could comprehend, Winnie grabbed her hand and hauled her after Ruka. Amelia laughed, "Don't worry about it." The stories about last years ball? Amelia silently wondered what could've happened at last years ball to make Winnie so against being separated. She supposed she would have to ask that question later, when she wasn't being dragged over to a group of boys. She recognized one of them, Mathias, from way back to September. They were in the same compartment on the train for a bit of the journey, but she hadn't talked to him since then. She doubted he even remembered her. There was another boy, who Amelia noticed smelled very nice. That was a weird observation to first make of someone, but she couldn't ignore that he smelt of.. spring?
There was a red haired boy too, who wasn't dressed up in a suit or a toga, and was instead dressed in a very interesting costume. Winnie dropped her hand and Amelia looked at her, she nearly stepped back in shock when she saw that Winnie was blushing. She wasn't an expert, but she knew what blushing usually meant. Winnie was a stuttering mess, and Amelia actually snorted at what her friend said. "Goat?" She said incredulously. "I'm not an expert on talking to boys, but I don't think calling someone a 'goat' is a good way to make a good first impression." Amelia teased her friend, nudging her in the ribs slightly.
Amelia turned back towards the red haired boy, who had called himself the 'Great God Pan'. "Hi, I'm Amelia. Winnie dragged me over here, nice costume by the way." She gestured towards his costume.

The underworld, like its name, the once sunny courtyard felt like hell. The only difference was the cold temperature, which made Aurora shivered and regretting not bringing a jacket. People came with dates. This was Unacceptable! The Ravenclaw thought it would not be that bad to go to the ball, without a date or a friend, since she had neither of that present at the moment.
Aurora stood in front of the bridge, was she supposed to greet people who were going to pass the bridge or just the trial participants? She was not getting paid to say, ‘Welcome to the underworld, this is the place where you will weep in the darkness!’ That was not what she was supposed to do, right? She should have asked that question to the other ball organizers if she had a chance.
She watched people come and went to the bridge. Still, not saying anything, people seemed to not really notice her standing there like a tiny mannequin, constantly checking her purse that was in her hand, filled with her wand, a chocolate bar, a pepper spray, and an inhaler because she did not know what else she was supposed to do. The urge to abandon the bridge was over the roof, desperately needing the spring area air and some music and watching those purebloods’ peculiar reaction to it. There was nothing she could really do at that point except put her best talent to good use, screaming.
