There was no path that led to this cabin, there wasn't much indication that this was even a cabin aside from the flag that stuck out. The whole building itself was located not too far from the mess hall, allowing easy access for any of the occupants to get a meal. It was surrounded by the Ground's vast space that it offered and as a result almost seemed to dwarf the cabin. But to the young ones, it might not even matter much since everything in proportion can seem huge. It sat at a slight slope though, digging slightly into the side of the hill with deliberation to make itself known.

It wasn't tall or garnished with anything a mansion would have, but it stood proud and strong. The wear and tear on it almost made it look like it had been there for over a decade, easily mistaken as one of Hogwart's hidden structures. But the outside betrayed its surroundings, the wood was from somewhere up north. It would have been wood that would be harvested from colder temperatures, but no one would really be able to tell this unless they had some knowledge on it. To the side was some halved logs of the similar kind, placed on two logs in a way that formed a bench.

Three more of it surrounded a small campfire site that the Professor personally made sure to secure. The ashes were smoldered, but it seemed to have been used recently as there was a rack that could have held a kettle or pot. But at least the small site had a nice view of the lake from where they sat. Upon entering the cabin, there was a strong wooden smell, mixed with the earthy ground of the Scottish highlands. There was light furnishings in the cabin, nothing that really screamed a theme. The interior sported a muted color scheme, the wood matched the exterior with its greyish hints that looked like a hippogriff's feathers. Everything that was conjured seemed to almost seem like it had been used, except for the furnishings the students were using.

Their beds had much of the bare necessities, Sergei expected them to bring their own things after all. Near one of the windows was a small and simple couch, enough to read a book on for three people, four if they didn't mind not breathing on each other. The lamps were all candles, ones he secured to make sure that none of the kids decided to pull a move like what happened at the ball. There was ample space for the kids to place their things in near their bunks, he didn't expect that any of them would bring luggage upon luggage of things. Two Hippogriff plushies sat on each bedside, it was an odd addition that someone had urged him to have since he seemed to scare the living soul out of most students.

If any of them wanted it, they could have it. For him, the surrounding space was decent and cozy though, it might seem bigger to the kids but he knew this was a place to just sleep after all. He had come a little short on the fact that he also needed a place to sleep as well, but he planned to just take the couch instead. The man had made himself comfortable on it, sitting there with a small low-hanging coffee table that had a kettle of freshly brewed tea and some biscuits.

When the door opened, the Bulgarian man stood up to greet them with his tea in his hand. "Welcome to the Cabin of the Hippogriff, I think I have had all of you in my class already and so I hope you at least know my last name." he began, tapping his finger on the ceramic cup. His face would scan the student's features. "I would rather we get the tedious part out of the way. Get settled in and I will go over what to expect from all of you in a few minutes. Of course, no muggle devices." He learned it from observing Solomon. There was a casual atmosphere that surrounded the older gent, yet it may not have made his demeanor any easier to be around.
I. Lights out after 9PM. Sneak out at your own risk.
II. One person on one bed, no sharing. Keep your cooties to yourselves.
III. Act civil around one another, do not start or bring any fights in the cabin.
IV. Houses don't matter here, you are all under one roof.
V. Clean up any messes you've made and keep your space organized and tidy.
VI. Try not to break anything and definitely do not burn anything.

Summer lovin, happened so fast
summer lovin, had me a blast

Professor Cornhuskbin's cabin! Summer was kicking off with a bear sized bang, as was the end of first year, and the start of second year. The time spent down by the bonfire had been pleasant, but it was nowhere near as pleasant as the idea of spending a month with Katya, Max, Adam, and Phaedra! Max and Adam, two of her best friends was going to be there, along with Katya and Phaedra, two girls she wanted to learn more about! They were all going to be there, along with Sergei the Bear man. Thank god for no homework, as Eris really did not want to spend the summer learning about Transfiguration and the arcane power of match sticks. No, she wanted to spend the summer making the old man realize just how old he was. He was the Professor of KFC, after all, a fact she was going to restate over and over again.

Eris wasn't sure when the nickname had started, but on all pieces of homework she had written throughout the year, there had always been references to KFC. Did she know what KFC was? Nope. Not in the slightest. Apparently it was an American fast food place that offered chicken, and it was one of Sergei's favourites. It was true that Sergei knew what it was though, as he seemed to be able to treat her homework the same as others, and still give her good grades. It wouldn't be the first time a young girl struggling with family issues latched onto an older father figure, and it wouldn't be the last. Although, it would most certainly be the funniest documented one.

Trekking to the campsite, Eris's facial expression morphed into one extreme delight as she took in the weathered outside of the cabin. She had never been camping before, but the cabin looked like what a cabin was supposed to look like. Old and rustic, it looked like something out of a storybook town, and the perfect place to spend a month of one's life. The smoldering campfire would be perfect for smores, and for a moment, Eris wished that Rhea was there to eat smores (and get the marshmellows stuck in her teeth), but the girl had left home without staying for summer camp. Before she had left, she had lent Eris the same sleeping bag she had been forced to use at the hufflepuff campout, a sparkling monstrosity of fabric shoved into the trunk she lugged behind her. The trunk was dirty from being yanked and dragged through the mud and grass, but Eris did not have the upper body strength to lug the trunk with her arms, and was too stubborn to ask any of her friends to do it.

She was the first to the cabin, having left the bonfire early to attempt to drag her trunk without the prying eyes of other students to judge her lack of strength. Opening the creaking door to expose the interior of the rustic cabin, the smile on Eris's face only grew at the inside. Studying the room for a split minute, Eris's eyes trailed over every impeccable detail, seeing but not really paying attention, as her eyes lingered on the beds.

Dragging her trunk, as it made a loud noise, leaving marks on the wooden floor, Eris placed it at the foot of one of the bunk beds. This particular bed was nearest to the door, and placing her trunk on the ground with a pant, Eris flung open the thing to pull out her hideous sleeping bag. Taking it out, without a trace of care, she climbed up the stairs to the top bunk, sleeping bag held tightly in one hand.

Flinging the bag down on the bed, Eris than dangled her legs over the ledge of the bed, leaning over the side of the bed to see the rest of the students and the grizzled professor. Eris, by no means, was a shy girl. She had already claimed her bed, and due to shyness not being a companion, she had not lingered to ask any of the other students to be her bottom bunk buddy. Everyone in the cabin, minus random Slytherin Prefect, was her friend. Whoever slept at the end of her bed was not a concern of Eris, although she secretly hoped Adam would take the bed below her, so they could have conversations long into the night, just as they had during the summer holidays.

No matter. She would just shout down and ask someone to sleep below her. That worked, didn't it? Removing her feet from the rails, and scooting over to the ladder at the edge of the bed, Eris popped her head out, neck right on the top rung of the ladder. Who did she want under her, and who did she want next to her? Katya was nice enough, but she would want the top bunk. Plus, Eris rather have one of her best friends sleeping under her. Looking around, Eris spotted another bunk close by, and let out a loud shout.

"THAT BUNK IS KATYA'S!" The small girl declared loudly, hoping the other girl wouldn't tell her off for not being polite in her bed-claiming skills. Pointing to the bed below her, Eris shrugged her shoulders. Boys weren't allowed to sleep under girls, were they? In that case, Adam could be across the room with Max, shouting distance away, and Eris would get to sleep with Phaedra!

""AND PHAEDRA GETS THE BED UNDER ME!" Was shouted next, followed by, "ADAM AND MAX GO ACROSS FROM ME PLEASE, SO WE CAN TALK!" Added after was a faint mumble, accompanied by a blush. "Boys aren't allowed to sleep under girls, because cooties."

The 11 year old cabin dictator removed herself from the rungs of the ladder, wrapping her arms around the stuffed toys on her bed with a smile still fixed onto her face. "Oh, and Prefect boy. Uh, hi."

Leaning back onto the wall of the cabin, Eris's face was pink, as she frowned. She might of been...a bit too excited about summer camp. Whatever, it was going to be awesome.

Nobody has to act on their beds chosen by Eris. Those who I have talked about beding arrangements with, I'm truly sorry it was expressed in this manner..sort of.

It wasn't a long walk to get there. The cabin was close to the mess hall, which meant nothing but easy travels for her and her group. The path leading up to where they would sleep was unmarked and made the cabin blend in even more with the Hogwarts architecture, but once the small group arrived there the differences were clear. The Hippogriff cabin was old and rustic, and sat with a slight slope into the grounds, something that couldn't be said for the rest of the school. In the grass just a few feet before it sat a smouldered campfire with a rack and a few benches surrounding it made of log. This would be her first time camping, and already it was so unlike anything she had ever experienced. Most of her vacations were spent on the beaches in Greece islands and her family's fancy beach houses, not curled up in a small, wooden shack close to the forest. Nonetheless, she was excited and couldn't help the eager smile gracing her features. New adventures tended to have that effect on her.

Phaedra was the second to enter the cabin, right after Eris Fawley. Catching the swinging door, she held it open for those behind her as she stepped inside. Upon this, a strong earthy, relaxing aroma like the Scottish Highlands hit her senses, but the interior design failed to evoke nearly as strong of a reaction. The colours inside were muted and dull, but there was a window with a beautiful lake view to compensate for the colourful aesthetics the inside lacked. That didn't matter - they were here for summer camp, and the area was still charming in its own way. At her friend's voice, she blinked and raised an eyebrow up at her. The short girl had already claimed her spot.

Eris didn't have to order her to take the bunk underneath because she was making a beeline straight for it the very moment she stepped into the cabin. It was the bed closest to the door, and although she did not favour having traffic continuously walk past her bedside, at least the exit was there for a quick escape if need be. Everyone in this cabin group seemed relatively normal and not annoying, but who knew what shenanigans would occur over the summer now that they were free from most of Hogwarts' restrictive rules. And the masked figure was still apparently around, much to her dismay. Hurrah.

Standing over the foot of her bed, she gave the piece of furniture a look over. It was bare and wooden (like most things in the cabin) but it still looked comfortable. With a grunt, she lifted her bag off of her shoulder onto the springy mattress and unzipped it to peer inside. Like most wizard luggage, her duffle bag had an extension charm to drastically extend the inside space, but even still, the girl had packed only her absolute camping necessities. Clothes, shoes and pyjamas, toiletries, a tightly rolled sleeping bag and blankets, and even a few candles and other light camping tools - just in case. She had considered bringing a pair of omnioculars with her but decided against it at the last minute. Those were a tad too expensive to bring along, no matter how useful. Finally, deep in her bag was a book or two to read and her wand.

The hyper Gryffindor signalled down from her top bunk for Adam and Max to join the bunks neighbouring theirs. Phaedra looked at the boys and gave them a slight smile of approval. Yes, that would be perfectly fine and Phaedra secretly hoped Max would take the one on the bottom so she could talk to him throughout their stay, but she wouldn't necessarily mind if it ended up being Adam instead - it would be nice if she and her fellow prefect had a better, less stressful opportunity to bond and the more friends she had the merrier. Phaedra stayed standing for a few seconds, her neck craned back a bit as she watched Eris peer over the ladders from her top bunk like an excited puppy, dictating the rest of their actions once more. Hopefully, that behaviour would wear off in a timely manner - Phaedra liked Eris but she wasn't sure if she could handle it the entire month, and she most certainly wouldn't want to experience the wrath of her Professor. What she had seen of his anger from the Blossomfest Ball was enough for the time being.

Out of the corner of her eye, the dark-haired girl caught a glimpse of a Hippogriff plushie, and like the sucker for cute animals that she was, she gave into the temptation and took the object into her hands, stroking the soft fabric on its wings. There were others just like it on the rest of their beds, so she made the assumption that the toys were for them to keep. Was it Professor Yornikovych's idea to get them? It was a sweet gesture and she would have to thank him later; this was yet another to join the small collection she had at home. Overhearing Eris' comment on cooties, the girl gave a snicker before setting the stuffed animal down on the sheets. "Cooties? Those aren't real, Eris," Phaedra responded in a matter-of-fact tone, before going taking some extra blankets out of her bag. "It's all a load of rubbish." Zipping the duffle bag closed again, she dropped it onto the floor and slid it underneath her bed with her foot. They hadn't been given any extra instructions other than to get settled, so with a shrug, Phaedra continued on with her bedding arrangements so she could get comfortable as well.

As far as avoiding problems went, staying in a cabin hundreds of miles away from them and ignoring all letters pertaining to them felt like a good way to go. Maybe that would make the problems build and build until they couldn't be contained and were even worse - like some swollen angry river finally bursting through a dam after being held too long - but being blissfully ignorant until then felt right. Felt good. Max drew in a deep breath of fresh air as he looped his thumbs through his backpack straps to take in the sight of the Hippogriff Cabin. It wasn't a summer house in Canada, but it looked wholesome and sturdy, a good place to lay your head down in. This would be a great vacation. It had to be.

Trailing his fingers lightly over the rough frame of the door, Max paused before entering to study the place they'd spend the next little while in. They'd be sleeping in close quarters - might encounter a sticky situation if anyone got sick because it would spread like wildfire in here - but forcing them all together would likely be a good team-building thing. Drawing in a small breath, he entered third after Phaedra.

He was rather eager to get to know both the Slytherin girl he'd met at the ball and the Slytherin prefect, since he hadn't made many friends in the snake House. He also knew there'd be no problems with Eris or Phaedra, since he already liked them. Harringtom might cause some tension since their interactions hadn't been under the best of circumstances, but he'd gotten extremely good at playing nice in group situations over the last year. Could they all be a team? Probably. As long as his paranoia about prefects and profs didn't get in the way since, he realized with a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, they completely outnumbered him and Katya five to two.

With that in mind, he wanted to choose a bunk that would put him in a strategically good place in case anything went wrong. He'd decided to continue trusting Eris since she'd been fired, and he truly wanted to trust Phaedra because they had so much in common. The other students he would be cautious of but friendly towards because there was no way they were all in on the masked figure thing.

Professor Yornikovych... he was a different matter.

Max shifted his backpack on his shoulders as Eris started bouncing around with energy he only wished he could have. Following her directions was probably the easiest of all choices, plus it kept him close to his friends so he could help them if they were attacked by the professor. He'd decided after the lock-in, after hearing about the Hufflepuff event, after the masked figure, after so much... He no longer trusted adults. Not a single one, but most especially not the professors of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They were all either sadistic or apathetic about the students being nearly murdered, and he had no doubt the old man staying with them wouldn't bat an eye if one of them was severely injured. In fact, some irrational part of his mind was afraid he'd wake up to find the bearded professor towering over them with his wand, ready to sacrifice them to the masked man because the profs had known the whole time.

He narrowed his eyes at the professor before smiling so sweetly it was definitely mocking, dislike clear in his eyes. He'd fight for his friends; that was a promise.

Choosing the bottom bunk in case he needed to leap out of bed quickly, he turned away and set his bag down with a quiet swish and unpacked the few items he'd brought while listening to Phaedra and Eris speak. He'd heard of cooties before - a lot of the kids seemed to think that was a thing they could get. As he took out his sleeping bag and smoothed it onto the bed he'd be sleeping on, he chewed the inside of his cheek at the argument, trying to remember what his mother had told him about cooties.

"Yeah, they don't really exist like that," he agreed with Phaedra, lifting one shoulder in an apologetic shrug at Eris. "The real problem, according to Mother, is that if boys and girls touch faces then they'll get a horrible disease. If they put their cheeks together, I think their lips will fall off and their teeth will fall out or something." It sounded ridiculous, yet it had certainly made him wary of putting his face near a girl's - he needed his teeth to eat.

He continued to unpack as everyone else worked at their own spaces, wondering how late he'd be able to stay up to talk to the girls across from him. He wanted to get to know Phaedra a lot better and an entire month was a perfect opportunity - this was certainly a blessing despite having to be on edge the whole time. Plus he and Eris could get up to mischief and have all sorts of fun... if only Dorian was with them, it would be the best.

He paused only to pick up one of the stuffed animals that had been placed on his bed, lifting it between thumb and forefinger to stare. He hadn't seen one of these in forever - when he was a kid, he'd gotten something stuffed from his aunt, but it had gotten burned after he'd misbehaved. It reminded him of his aunt's deep, throaty laugh and the way she'd ruffle his hair, and he didn't even realize he'd brought it close to his face with a small smile until it was too late. Hastily dropping it with an annoyed exhale, he shoved both stuffed animals to the very foot of his bed as he busied himself with counting out his robes again. A trick to soften them up by the professor who made them write about death. Well, he wasn't falling for it.

He wouldn't let his guard down for the next month.

The first year had passed. It was hard to believe how quick it had been, Sebastian feeling as though he had only arrived at Hogwarts months ago. In that time, he had discovered some individuals he liked, some that were on the way to being considered friends, and had encountered rivals and even potential enemies. The latter remained to be seen, determined by the new year, and further interaction, however there was certainly a real chance of enemies being made. Even after healing somewhat, Sebastian could still feel the odd tinge of discomfort from some of the wounds he had sustained in the Abandoned Toilets, fighting a particularly troubled individual...

Sebastian walked into the cabin, dragging his trunk behind him. He had packed lightly, bringing enough clothing to ensure several days worth of comfort, before requiring any washing. Being in the midst of other students assigned to the same cabin, the Irish boy trailed behind some of them, keeping to himself mostly until everyone had settled in somewhat. Several bunks were claimed immediately, with a redheaded Gryffindor deciding to lay claim to the leader of the cabin, ordering others around, to which Sebastian ignored her and simply walked to the far end and the farthest bunk - he didn't care where he slept, so long as it wasn't near her.

Professor Yornikovych gave a brief welcome, and explained what was expected.

Placing the trunk down near the bunk at the end of the row, Sebastian slid it under the bed and proceeded to sit on the claimed spot. He had no problems with whoever slept above him, though part of him wondered if Katya would join the bunk; it would be nice to be able to talk more if the mood struck, whispering in the night. Either way, Sebastian looked to the Russian student, eyes observing, as he listened to others speaking among themselves.

They all seem to be familiar, Sebastian thought. That's nice.

Reaching out, Sebastian picked up the stuffed toy on the bed he sat. It was a Hippogriff. While it might have been cute, Sebastian didn't want nor need it, and dropped it beside the trunk at his feet. It was certainly an odd gesture from Professor Yornikovych, who had a reputation of being a fierce teacher with little room for pleasantries; but that could also have been his being Russian, and the manner he had developed throughout life. Either way, the plushie was unnecessary and seemed out of character for the strict man.

Sebastian waited for the Professor's address, however heard someone addressing him from one of the other bunks, a redheaded girl...

"Hello," Sebastian said, glancing up to see her further along the row of beds. "I don't think any of us have met. I'm Sebastian. A Prefect, as you pointed out, yes... and you all are?"

Summer Camp Cabin of the Hippogriff Closed
If someone were to ask Adam about his plans for the summer back in May or June, spending an extra month at Hogwarts would not have come to mind. It wasn't that he disliked the school -- in fact, he didn't mind living away from home nearly as much as he thought he might -- but no eleven-year-old wanted to spend July at the same building that they'd been learning in since September. He'd thought that the professors were crazy when rumors had spread that they were extending the school year. That was before Professor Scheinberg's announcement.

A summer camp! It was the perfect idea for the graduating first-years. Adam had never been to summer camp before, and it was something that one absolutely had to do before they were too old. On the very day it was revealed, he had rushed to the Owlery and sent word to his parents, explaining everything in a hastily scrawled letter that he hoped they'd get on time. Amidst the excited chatter of the other attending students, Adam had begun to grow nervous. What if the message had never arrived? What if he couldn't sign up on time? It finally got to the point, at the end of June, where the boy had returned to the Owlery in hopes of sending another owl through. Before he could, however, his messenger had flown back to the castle and delivered the good news: he had permission to stay.

Now, following his classmates into the ancient-looking cabin they would be living in until August, Adam was still a bit caught up in disbelief. It had been pure luck that he had caught the sixth spot for the Cabin of the Hippogriff on time. The outside was nice-looking, with a small fire and lots of places to sit. The six of them would be sleeping pretty close to the camp's mess hall, useful information to have in case they ever had to rush to breakfast or dinner. On the inside, there wasn't much -- but he thought it suited the style of Professor Yornikovych, the leader of their cabin. A small couch by the window, a few candles sporting open flames for light (wasn't that dangerous?), a small table, and some bunk beds that looked fun to sleep in. It looked like they wouldn't be spending much down time here, but it would be a good sleeping place.

Adam's attention was next drawn by the professor himself, as the man began to speak from his place in the middle of the cabin. It was funny to see the Transfiguration instructor with a cup of tea in his hand, and he had to bite back a laugh. For all of Professor Y's northern-ice-warrior behaviors, he seemed just a little more relaxed now that it was summer. Adam nodded at the man's final instructions -- and then the madness began.

Eris was the first to act, as she had been one of the first into the cabin. Her trunk rested against one of the bunks' heavy wooden legs, and she was already nested in one of the higher beds, sleeping bag trailing behind her like an empress's robe. The comparison was more similar than Adam had realized, apparently, and made itself known when Eris began shouting orders from her place up high. He laughed as she established their order quickly, and obligingly spread out his sleeping bag next to Max's. In all honesty, he was still a little nervous around Max Avery. They hadn't spoken much since their encounter in the hospital wing, though that had been long ago, and Adam was sure that they had both had time to move on. Finishing the preparation of his sleeping space, Adam turned his attention to the rest of the campers as they spoke in turn.

First was Eris Fawley, of course, a girl he already knew well. He was excited to be in the same cabin as her, and her name had been one of the things that compelled Adam to sign up for the Cabin of the Hippogriff in the first place. Next was Phaedra Stavrou, his fellow Ravenclaw prefect during first year. She responded to Eris in a factual tone that perfectly mirrored her job, and it made Adam smile. His respect for Phaedra was already pretty high after their execution of the Library Lock-In, but he hoped that they could become better friends this summer, too. There was a Slytherin girl that he didn't know, and though she hadn't spoken yet, he thought he remembered a name from the sign-up sheet: Katya or Kayla or something like that. Then there was Max, the boy Adam had accused of starting a fistfight. They were all here.

Tuning back into the conversation, Adam found himself just in time to hear an answer from the Gryffindor boy that really did make him laugh out loud. "What? That's nonsense!" Realizing how his words had probably come off, Adam bit his lip in embarrassment and apologized as his laughter slowed. "Er....I mean....sorry, Max."

Things got worse when a voice came from a bunk nearby, introducing itself calmly. Looking over, Adam saw the last member of their cabin -- Sebastian. He had forgotten about a sixth person! Now that he thought about it, Adam remembered the boy from prefect duties. He'd worked with Maisy Dane and others as the Slytherin prefects, hadn't he? Smiling, and hoping that Sebastian hadn't noticed his oversight, Adam introduced himself as well. "Hi! I'm Adam. Nice to meet you!"

It had been kind of a rough start, but Adam was in a cabin, at least. He was ready to kick off summer the right way.

Loud, this child was loud. Though he was well acquainted enough with Fawley's personality to know her antics in some light and he still has not grown accustomed to it. Like so, the ear-piercing banshee scream of the small red-head caused him to nearly grip his cup to the point of fracturing it. For a split second, the man looked like he was about to snap in half the more Eris instructed the rest with a voice that could make his drums shatter; she was a true Gryffindor through and through. They were loud and obnoxious, eager to take charge regardless of the opinions of the others, she fit that mold quite well.

Though he was not looking forward to any of the shenanigans that might come from her, at least not anytime soon. But it was comforting to know that one of his own would join the bunch, a Prefect no less. For a man who kept to himself and nearly in his classroom, he took the time to get to know the names of who represented Ravenclaw. The man could not have chosen a better pair than Phaedra and Adam, to say the least. There was a perceived balance in the two and he found no shortcomings so far with who he's chosen.

Although Sergei silently hoped that the rest of the other Prefects would keep the rest in line. The Avery boy was something of a different matter, he had heard misplaced murmurs and rumors of the sharp-tongued lion. Fame or infamy? There was no difference to it. Mercy to those who fell on the edge of the blade, glory to those who could parry and defend themselves against it. Though the man himself had no worries about it himself; he felt a little more liberty to exercise discipline at this event. The Slytherin boy did not worry him though, he had not heard much from Slytherins aside from the casual conniving they did.

There was an air about the boy that made him curious though; whether that was good or not, he didn't know. Nothing gave off much, but looks could be deceiving. He found the group overall had a good composition and did not set himself up to think that they'd be a bunch of belligerents. The man occupied himself near the window with the nearly empty cup in his hand. There was a genuine concern of the weather for today; his gaze scanning the sky above. This was frankly the first time he has ever hosted a cabin for the summer, he normally would be at home in Bulgaria. If he was not in such a good mood when it was proposed, the man would have otherwise wound up denying to host them at all.

He did not feel disdain towards the students, though he knew it was a common rumor, he simply did not grow up with the warmest demeanor. It was an activity he would have done with his son, so the feeling wasn't foreign. The man could not also help but feel a little irked by the growing tension that surrounded the school. Too much had happened, too little had been done about it. Yet despite his best efforts to be vigilant, never in his mind would he have expected the outcome of it all. For a man who spent his life trying to know everything about one field, not even his best skills or intellect could expect it. There were many possible outcomes and they all led to one future, that future was now and whatever they did was then. Though he would have preferred to change some things.

Some tea dribbled down the side of his grizzled features, making a small noise as he wiped it on the sleeve of his jacket. The man looked more like a farmer, ready to tend to his sheep rather than someone who could conjure something from thin air. As the rustling began to die down and the chatter ensued, he glanced over his shoulder to eye the one empty bed. A finger tapped against the cup, trying to be as patient as he could be with the rest of the cabin-goers as they came. Surely they were all quite eager to go outside, he wouldn't protest. Though he had a feeling that the students might just have enjoyed the weather around Durmstrang as well. He set the cup down with a rattle and stepped over to the middle for everyone to see him.

"May I have your ears?" The man loudly knocked on the wooden frame of the closest bunk to him to get their attention. "Let me quickly go over the rules of the cabin, afterward if there are no questions, then you may leave. None of you are allowed to share a bed and please do not try to occupy another person's without their permissions. You will all be under the same roof, so I expect nothing but civility from the lot of you." He's seen enough tomfoolery from the students throughout the year to find any entertainment in seeing it at summer camp.

Despite them being out of school, Sergei still found himself held accountable for their safety and did not want to have to reprimand them. He was not their parent and he did not want to seem like one. "If you have an issue with another person, work it out or come to me. You are all second years now, so I expect more from you all. Try not to break anything, avoid casting spells, and clean up any mess you have. Your space is your responsibility, I do not plan to pick up after you. Lastly, lights out at 9PM and on the weekends, you may stay out till 10:30PM." The man wrung his wrist, taking a short breath as he folded his hands behind his back. With a short nod to the rest, he inquired, "I expect one of you to fill in your missing cabinmate when they get here. However, do any of you have any questions for me right now?"

Excellent. Everyone was listening to her instructions, and it was a wonderful shock! Eris didn't expect her new room-mates to listen to her rantings, but they had! Now Phaedra was sitting below Eris, and her two friends were across the room. Katya was nowhere to be found, a fact that soured Eris's extremely wonderful mood, but the rambunctious child shoved down the sad feeling, forcing a smile onto her face.

Summer had started, she was safe from the masked figure, and wasn't going home to her scary grandmother for another month! Was there anything more perfect? Eris felt excited, happy, and overjoyed all at once, the rush of emotions bubbling over into her hyperactive personality, but when Phaedra and Max assured the girl that cooties weren't real, a scowl dropped down from the top bunk, Eris's face hovering over Phae's bed like an overexcited monkey. Well, an overexcited monkey that was confused and irritated.

Her hair was bright pink, something that Eris had no control over, but didn’t exactly mind. She would learn, in time, how to control her appearance. Apparently Eris was a metamorphagus, whos hair randomly changed. Who would of known? Eris certainly didn’t.

"First of all, cooties are real. Why do you think that teenagers get those gross things called pimples? That's from cooties, obviously. There is no such thing as face touching disease, and if you need proof, I will happily touch your face with my forehead, and rub my cheek into your face."

Eris rolled her eyes, acting as if she was a school teacher, imprinting advice onto younger children. This was, in fact, total important advice, that all of her friends would need to learn. She would have to educate them, as a good friend would do. Of course, the sheer amount of sugar that Eris had swallowed clouded her judgment, and helped Eris forget the conversations she had partaken in that proved cooties were fake, along with making her overexerted and hyper, already debating the merits of running around the cabin like a shrieking baboon midget.

From the affects of candy overdose, her thoughts were simple, and exceeding wise to the mind of a sugar addled girl. Cooties were dangerous, and Max was stupid. Face touching, what kind of sickness was that? What was he? A doctor from Gray’s Anatomy? Max was good at most things, but clearly, understanding modern sicknesses was not one of his strong suits.

Adam seemed to think the same thing as Eris, and without further warning a chuckle burst forth from her best friend’s mouth, as he added that it was stupid, to which, Eris grinned. "See! That's why he's my best friend. He gets it!" A burst of pride and happiness at the personality of her amazing best friend ran through Eris, as she pushed herself back up, and waved at the Slytherin boy who had greeted her.

"Hello! I'm Eris, these are my friends. At least, they were my friends before they said that cooties wasn't real. Now I think that I only like Adam, but I'm still considering enjoying Max and Phae's company. They're cool, even if they don't understand medicine like I do."

They would need some educating on cooties. Surely, as pure bloods, they understood how bad cooties were. Apparently not. Even the best and richest of all wizards could have some faults. Eris would just need to educate them and show they that they were, indeed, wrong, about one thing in their lives.

Which, would be a shock to the pure blood, children. Ah, how hard it was to explain cooties from the position of an adolescent doctor. Well, not a doctor, but Eris was totally qualified to be a doctor. Wasn't she? She did one year of magic school, that made her qualified.

Before Eris could teach the students more about cooties, Professor Y. started to talk, listing off the cabin rules. They seemed fair enough to the young girl, who had never really understood why students wanted to stay up past 9, anyways. For once, Eris let the other children in her cabin speak first, not asking any questions.
