Note: is passively serving any students that approach
Was that- did he just- As Marcus got to his feet, he turned accusatory amber eyes on Caradoc Browne. Had he just pat his arse with- A glance at Caradoc's hand revealed a spatula. A spatula? Really? Marcus shook his head at the blond man, telling himself that the man was obviously jealous that Marcus was hogging Nora. The Head of Ravenclaw didn't say anything though, opting to catch Nora's eye behind Caradoc's back and playfully roll his eyes. With a slight grin, he turned to go back into the kitchen while the Head of Hufflepuff joined the Head of Slytherin at the opened back of the truck.

Marcus got back into the rhythm of cooking, letting the two lovebirds have their moment. He would serve the kids that came up to order in a timely fashion, making sure to keep the space as clean as possible during the process (it was not easy and did not stay completely clean, considering the volume of orders and speed at which things needed to get done). The red bandana around his forehead was putting in work, because the food truck was hot and it was keeping the sweat away from his eyes.

When he heard an unpleasant shortened version of his name - Marc - he looked out the panel and saw who Caradoc was talking to. Colette Simmons, the newest school librarian. She'd been hired at the beginning of June, so was one of the newest additions to the school staff. A bit of a mystery to Marcus, considering he didn't spend much time in the library during that last month of school.

"America? Did you spend long there?" he asked, catching wind of the conversation. Her accent didn't suggest an American upbringing - in fact, he was pretty sure he recalled that she had gone to Durmstrang. And yet her accent was a bit posh, English. His own suggested a hint of Australia or New Zealand, though he had been to neither. Accents could be a fickle thing, really. "Hungry?" he added on, gesturing around him to the food that was cooking.

This is Noah's attempt to eat BBQ
Noah left the Hippogriff cabin, the odd similarity to the gryffindor common room stunned him. But he decided to drop everything he thought of doing, stopped chewing on his pillow and walked out of the cabin. He muttered a thank you to his cabin supervisor, who appeared to be the Head of House of Slytherin. He walked down to where the food trucks were, surprised that it had to be BBQ. Noah groaned, knowing how much he HATED BBQ.

The stunning aroma seemed to keep drawing him toward the BBQ. Should he feel good about this? He shook off the thoughts. Of course BBQ was the worst food ever invented, in Noah's mind anyways. But it would keep him fed for a little while. It is what it is, so Noah sucked it up. He stepped up and ordered a BBQ coated with spicy BBQ sauce, hoping that would drench and drown out the meaty flavor he isn't a fan of since he found out how BBQ was made. All thanks to his brother, Wally, who told him with such motivation that would make someone feel faint at how BBQ was made.

Noah got his meal. The flavor makes him still gag. He could still taste the meat. He rolled his eyes, tossing the food into the trash.

This post comes with a Trigger Warning of extreme bullying. There is no real physical violence beyond arms being grabbed but there is verbal abuse. If this makes you uncomfortable, please skip this post. So you can still know what happened in comfortable terms. Angél grabs Santario, says some very not okay things that no one can overhear but Levi and then roughly shoves her into him before running away to her cabin.

Santario's post following will include none of the words said here.

Angél was not here to socialize like the other people were. No, she was on the lookout for her cousin, the one and only miss way to up on a high horse Santario Martin. In fact, who did she think she was? She had everything Angél wanted, and while it was neither of their choices, Angél held a fierce grudge. One not even the family was aware festered under her skin.
Wisdom check: [d20: 18] + 4 = 22 to spot not that it would have been hard.
Her eyes quickly landed on the girl who packed her camera into her bag before she looked down, making sure now was the time, but if not now, then when? When would she learn? Angél abandoned her food and made quick work of closing the distance. “I don’t know where you think you’re slinking off to, you vile rat!” Angél reached forward and grabbed the girl’s arms from behind, pulling her backward.
Angel Acc: [d20: 20] + 13 = 33

It didn’t matter how fast the girl thought she was Angél was faster and stronger as she pulled her cousin back to her hands, gripping her arms harder than she needed to. “I don’t know who you think you are coming off all high and mighty. Do you think you can strut around here like a peacock because you’re some undefeated duelling captain? Where was that when your parents were murdered, huh? I hope you choke the same way you did that night that way, everyone else can see how worthless you really are. Next time you decide to hit my friends with errant spells and not give a damn, I want you to think about how you can’t escape me right now. Next time I won’t be so nice.” A reference towards Santario missing the spell she had cast at Matthias at the Blossom ball and hitting Cassanora instead. With that, Angél would very roughly shove Santario away but not without making one Levi Drakos collateral damage. Whether he chooses to catch the noirette or allow her to fall was up to him. Angél would flee the scene, presumably back to her cabin.

Santario had somehow managed to lose her companion between the quidditch pitch and the barbeque. Maybe he had wandered off back towards the cabin regardless; it did not much matter. She had managed to get some great photographs on the way, and San could not wait to owl the film back home to get them developed.

While she was still a decent distance away, Santario raised her camera up to her face adjusting her lens to zoom in just a bit, and took some pictures of people enjoying themselves. Once satisfied, she busied herself with carefully putting her camera away and shifting the bag, so it rested on her lower back while walking. It was the most comfortable position for the bag to rest when she did not need to access her equipment.

When she looked up, however, she spotted her cousin passing by some people before taking a seat. Maybe they could just leave each other alone this time. Not that San ever had a problem with leaving her alone; it was the other way around. A hand moved through her hair as she looked around at the other people who had shown up a bit sparse still, but the evening was young yet. She could probably skirt along the edge and make her way to the food truck without drawing the ire of Angél.

That would not be the case; however, arms grabbed her from behind, and she gasped in surprise. The way her arms had been seized stopped her from readily being able to grab her wand, but she tried anyway. Unfortunately, she was no match for the person who had held her. Then, a familiar, slightly hushed voice reached her ears. “Angél, stop you are hurting me.” Then the rest of the words flowed, and Santario stopped fighting, it felt like she had just been punched in the gut, and she thought she might throw up. The next thing she knew, she was moving forward, not of her own accord.

Summer Camp had been such a promising way to waste the final month of Levi’s summer. It was only the first of nascent sentimental August, and that feeling of alternating between 3 a.m. and 5 p.m. had already begun to settle; the sun’s graceful setting became a mighty shattering crash, there was a kiss in the air from the month itself, as if apologizing for all the memories it was going to drag him back through. One of the worst of the year, surely. Romance had already begun to bloom for the young brunet, though upon further inspection, the roses had the pervasive aroma of burnt plastic, and they were contrived to appear flourishing. He’d shaken it off, spritzed on more of that ocean-reminiscent cologne, and fled the crime scene to the first event to catch his eye.

A barbecue could be nice, he’d told himself as he strolled into the clearing, smoothing any wrinkles from yet another terrible button up from the collection. It was a sun with sunglasses sort of afternoon. The boy was acutely aware his appetite had been smothered by the blue lips of his Blossom Ball date, but washing her taste away with the beverages in the truck could help cleanse the dirty feeling from the tinted surface of his skin. However, once Levi was close enough to blend with the crowd of students that had gathered, it became apparent fate had a different—much better—plan.

At a cost, that is. From his peripherals, there was a wave of unrest, of choked movement, preceded by an acrid degrading hiss that the boy couldn’t quite place. That was a first and last, though, as icy porcelain skin had caught and twirled him to a standstill daze. It’d been clear the following revilements weren’t meant for his strange ears, stripped of rectitude by the trenchant knowledge and the illness of sympathy, but they carried a poison about them like a dagger dipped in arsenic. A look in, not through a window, but busted glass. Somewhere, buried deep in a hole that perhaps no one—not even the golden girl—would find, a past tear would lengthen, a crick, a symptom. He’d cough, try to force the foreign feeling from its dwelling in his bone marrow. Like it never happened, albeit scar tissue would run over its place.

Do what he may, with whatever intent actually existed and wasn’t dislimned by the fog of curiosity and blind infatuation, he could still hear. Undefeated, murder, choke, struck him with widening hazel eyes, then worthless, errant, escape drenched the open wound in salt. Jaw collapsing, reaching for the floor as though searching for harmony, the hope of bouncing back was slaughtered, all over words that weren’t engineered for him. The candor would always be a mystery to him, but the effect left the same blood and tears rippling along the uneven ground that he knew, save the iridescent tethers to the pretty blonde girl. Connections. Blame.

It was then that the dark-haired beauty surrendered and was sent hurtling into Levi, who, for once, did something right. Rather than allow her to dive onto the grass beside his feet and wallow in the mud from the likely drought behind her gaze, the boy’s arms wrapped around her, pulling the girl to his chest whilst taking a step back to maintain his own balance. He’d allow her to straighten, but his hands would remain on both upper arms, offering his steady stance to her. There was an almost uncharacteristic ruth to his mien, perhaps trying to transfer his apathy through his fingertips, feel it for her. Whatever it was. That was an emotion that no amount charade would ever capture, not with the practice of a thousand like him.

“Are... are you okay?” It was a safe bet to presume the answer was no regardless of what she said, but this was a situation in which he would need to tread carefully. And for now, he didn't really care about difficulty.

Santario had been trying to look backward at her cousin, not expecting to be flung forward, so she did not see who exactly the victim of her fall would be. She instinctively put her hands up to brace for a fall to the ground, but her hands would not meet the grass that she expected. No, they would meet a body, a body that caught her with its arms. Her hair would fly forward, showering them both in dark locks and a night-blooming jasmine scent. Then his voice filled her ears, asking her if she was okay.

She looked up; a mixture of emotions crossed her face like one after another like animals on a merry-go-round. Relief, anger, and finally embarrassment as a flush crept into her cheeks. “I-… Please, just forget this.” A whispered plea and a side of the girl so different from the harsh and assured one he met in Dublin. Did she still vastly dislike him? Probably, most likely. (That thread isn’t done yet.) Right, now she was just grateful she had not eaten dirt. She might have been hungry, but she was not that hungry.

Santario would straighten herself and attempt to move away from him and out of his grasp, assuming he let her, she would run her hands through her hair, setting it right and smooth down her shirt while adjusting the strap of her bag with unsteady hands. A few quick blinks would will away the tears that had started to well up in her eyes. “I will be fine. Thank you.” A hard edge creeping back into her voice, wanting to leave, but needing to eat, she would start slowly making her way over to the food trunk while taking deep breathes to calm herself down.

As time went by the teachers annoyingly kept talking outside of the van. What on earth were they discussing? detention ideas, boring marking techniques? whatever it was their bickering would put any student to sleep. If they kept it up he'd have to think of a new idea, something of which would take time considering how long it took him to formulate this plan alone. Although, a noise behind snapped him out of his thoughts.

The person behind him made sure to tell him he wasn't supposed to be here and reminded him of the role he was recently appointed to. Even though he was looking away, Gray almost instantly recognised the voice. Sighing, he turned his body around to face Evelynn and leaned against the tree, glaring at her silently for a few seconds before answering the question "I could ask the same question, Evelynn" he said back while putting a hand through his hair to make sure it wasn't all over the place.

"Believe it or not, I'm not pushing the boundaries by any means. If you think this is a prank, well yes you're partly right," he said before looking back to see what the teachers were doing "It's mainly a thank you to the teachers and what they've done this year. So, if you want to go and spoil the surprise then by all means go ahead" Gray sighed before looking back straightening his scrunched sweater.

The only problem was the teachers were mostly outside, preventing him from even attempting the risky plan in the first place "Nonetheless, I can't even do it right now anyway. They talk so much dribble, from that alone you can tell they teach" he said sarcastically to her, a small frown crossing his lips as he made himself comfy against the tree.

"So, unless you want to help me pull something else off I don't see why you're still here talking to me. Unless it's to criticize me all over again about how "nasty" I am then don't even bother, I've heard that all from you many times over." he explained, a hand slowly going through his hair once more in annoyance "What do you say? help me out this once to possibly create something special for the teachers. Or, continue to aimlessly stalk me and gain nothing from our talks. It's up to you, Evelynn..."

“This is only a foretaste of what is to come, and only the shadow of what is going to be.”

Quirking her eyebrow at the greeting she received as it was not often she was called by her actual first name, "For me? You shouldn't have!" She feigned a little drama by doing a slightly dramatic hand wave as though she was honoured to receive a gift from him. But she did love to receive presents. Yes, people could definitely buy her love and affection. It was expensive but it could be brought. Stifling a laugh, "Oh, don't worry, the supplies will not go to waste," She responded, making it clear that they had been stored elsewhere. Just because they were removed from camp did not mean she was about to let them go to waste! Though she'd have preferred a cabin without children screaming throughout the night but this was definitely the safer choice. "I definitely won't say no though," Hjørdis clarified. She had no intention of turning down a great gift, especially not an imported gift. "How about we share it when you tell me your tales of your trip?" She asked him. When that would be was another matter entirely... With children to babysit, it likely would be months before she took another day off.

"You almost make it sound fun," She responded if she ignored the fact that it was likely very grossly hot and sweaty in there. It was so loud too. She was definitely pleased that she got to back away from the truck in a few minutes. Normally, she would have offered to assist with cooking but this did not seem like something she wanted to do. She would do it if they needed her to but it did look like they had it handled and really, she was glad for that.

Hjørdis returned the Galim's greeting with a nod just before she called out to Marcus. She would have said her name in return but short of calling back towards her, Galim likely would not have heard it anyway. Besides, she was not really the type of person to really shout anything. For the most part, she kept her volume relatively low, preferring to only be heard by the people next to her. Of course, there were many occasions where she had to address the entire room of students. However, she preferred to silence a room when children were around by having them quieten down to listen rather than to raise her voice for their attention.

The smirk dropped off her face as she heard his next words, clearly taken back a little for a moment or two. "He is?" She whispered, leaning slightly to look past Marcus. Her eyes fell on the man inside the truck, who was cooking behind him. A man in a black apron with a ridiculous looking headband on his head, which matched Iwasaki's. Though, it was in her favourite colour.

She had not even placed her order. Halloumi? He was making her food before she even arrived, as though he knew she was going to arrive and what she was going to order? She stared at him, her expression turning neutral. He was making her food and her heart felt like it was doing leaps. Her chest was full of so much warmth at the moment. Big bold public declarations of love were not her thing. In fact, a part of her hated having her relationship being public. For her, the most romantic gestures were the smaller ones, especially when they involved food. And she was dying right now, just not being able to express that. Her chest felt like it was going to explode.

"Hey..." She whispered softly as he appeared and started speaking to her. She wanted to say something sassy or... well anything. But her brain was just melting. She could not even tell him to wipe the stupid smirk off his face. Hjørdis knew his words were a lie. Marcus had been talking to her the entire time and Caradoc had already been cooking at that point. As he presented a plate of food to her, she placed her hands on it. Her mind was still clearly distracted by the whole thing as she held the plate. She did not even comment or roll her eyes at his behaviour seconds before. Ahem. "Thank you," She continued, composing herself to prevent herself from making doe eyes at the man as she took the plate. It felt so soppy but she was definitely swooning internally. Geesh, okay, she needed to snap out of this or she would end up staring at him with dreamy eyes for hours.

Ahem. Hjørdis tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear. She took the plate from him, smirking at him, "I'm impressed, Browne. Who knew you could be so organised? You might end up as the most organised head of house there is," She teased him. He was not disorganised, by any means but his organisational system was... very different to her own. She had spent countless hours trying to reorganise the chaos into a system that actually made sense. After Caradoc proceeded to spend weeks asking her for help after failing to find files, even though they were in actual order, she had given up. Despite the disorganised chaos, he somehow found everything he needed to faster. She would definitely still tease him about it though. Her system actually made sense to, you know, normal people.

Her gaze turned to spot more students arriving. Caradoc was telling Simmons to get to work but this was his task, after all. He was not being paid to flirt, after all, "I'll let you get back to it. Someone has to save Markiepoo the birdman," She teased, knowing that Marcus was not a huge fan of being the 'face' of the truck - and secretly hoping that 'Markiepoo' heard her choice of words for him. But being the face of the truck was definitely Caradoc's speciality. She paused for a second, allowing her gaze to fall onto his cheek. She wanted to place a kiss on it but that was not something she would do in public - or around children. Since she could not live in this moment forever, she simply raised her own hand running them over her own cheek as though she was brushing something off. A motion that just looked like brushing something off to everyone else. Caradoc would likely understand the reference though. A smirk was shot his way as she turned away, stepping away from the back of the truck and making her way towards the crowd so she could go and supervise the children.

Felix had never heard of food trucks before, and from the word around the campgrounds it seemed to be a popular muggle way to eat, so he was willing to give it a shot, especially if he wanted to interact with a few muggleborns and learn more about their culture. If doing so meant... Socializing, then so be it. He decided to show up fashionably late, mostly to avoid the early crowds. He was decked out in his usual attire of a black leather jacket, dark ripped jeans, and a pair of combat boots. His outfit was embellished by a silver chain that hung around his neck and a pendant in the shape of a silver bird skull.

Seeing as everyone was already paired off when he arrived, perhaps he should have rethought his decision. Whatever, the professors were playing good music and he was hungry. He stared over at the colourfully painted van and frowned. Was this what a food truck was? For some reason, he had been picturing the large muggle trucks that had multiple wheels. Hm... He quickly glanced around to observe the others who had already received their food. Was he really going to do this? Yes, yes he was. He was going to walk up to this... vehicle and ask the man for some food.

It was then that he caught sight of an adult woman in a pink floral dress. She seemed to be in a daze. Felix's eyes flickered down to her food as he approached her, and, as if on cue, his stomach rumbled. He had to admit, it did look pretty good. "Kanske behåller de all god mat för professorerna. Maybe they keep all the good food for the professors." He would wonder out loud in his native tongue, unaware that this professor could have very well spoken or at least understood Swedish. He was tempted to walk up and take the plate out of her hands and thank her for serving food to the students, but she looked so gleeful and even he wasn't that much of an asshole.

Quinn had just been enjoying his hotdogs, drink, and the chill no...ecstatic environment. He felt he was starting to make a new friend maybe. But then on a strange gut feeling he looked up just as he was about to respond to Elena Jangleton. What he saw both confused him and lit the oh so familiar fire of deep seated rage. The type of rage he only ever felt when a loved one was hurt. The sort of rage that burned hotter then the rage he felt when someone hurt one of his friends.

His body tensed and his face for a brief moment contorted into a terrifying visage of unbridled, snarling fury. Just as quickly he managed to wrench that back and began to step forward focusing now on the small, clearly distraught figure of his little sister and best friend. He had the thought to look to Elena and smile apologetically bowing his head quickly.

"Forgive me I must go. But if you're ever around the library just look for the tall lad reading a stack of books." He turned away and scowled as he stalked towards San's. Closing the distant in a matter of seconds with long quick strides.

Standing well over 9 feet, even in his 14 year old body he was awkwardly built limbs looking disproportionate slightly in their muscles mass giving him a sort of lean yet stocky physic. A very weird yet still terrifying build for his size. Arms like logs and tensed up to appear just as hard. Hands nearly crushing the plate as he knelt down to one knee and softened his expression.

Internally on the walk and as he knelt down there was a discussion. "Harlin."

"Quinnifer."

"Good Cop? Bad Cop"

"Good Cop, Sassy Cop."

"Fine. I'm trusting you here but let me do the talking first."

His expression softened and he offered her one of his uneaten hotdogs. "Hey there San. How are you doing? And whose the bitch with the death wish?" The voice slipped out and he grimaced, but pushed on. "Feck it. Harlin!" It was a momentary transition followed by a hand gently squeezing her shoulder. And the high pitched flamboyantly sassy voice of one narcissistic asshole.

"Hey there Peaches. You're not looking so good. But I-I mean we can fix that for you. Say the word and we'll breaking her like a twig. Don't know what she said to you but it must have been nasty? I mean she's obviously got the sass and drama down, but she messed up when she targeted you and...I can't have that." A dangerous smile graced his lips as he began to giggle.

Quinn mentally smacked him causing him to grimace, but he continued getting closer so he can whisper, "Don't worry I'll take my sweet time." There was that dangerous giggle followed by a bit of a struggle in his voice as Quinn wrenched back control and reeled himself back.

"Feckin...I knew this was a bad idea. Are ye okay, deirfiúr bheag? And um hotdog is still there for the taking." The deep bass voice of Quinn came back in full swing. He seemed a bit tire and clearly still upset but there all the same. His broad back to everyone else as he would look around, acting as her protective guardian.
