Between the constant chattering, socializing of the teenagers, and the sound of laughter and splashing, Felix had tuned out almost everyone around him. No one in particular had captured his attention anyway, nor had anyone bothered to try and talk to him. It was almost like people weren’t interested in conversing with someone who glared in their general direction every time they stepped too close. Weird. Oh well, he had been hoping to learn more about muggle culture on this trip, but it was only August 3rd and he had plenty of time to find an intriguing subject.
Until that time, he was lounging underneath the shade of an umbrella. He had to protect his lily white skin. Sweds were not particularly known for their tans. His only companion was a book he was currently engrossed in, one about duelling strategies he had brought from home. Now and then, he would lazily reach across and dig his hand into the woven picnic basket to grab a cracker or some other morsel of food and pop it into his mouth.
Yes, the Durmstrang student was enjoying his moment of solitude. Until that moment came to an abrupt end in the form of falling... Sunflowers?
No, it was simply the girl’s swimsuit. "Vad i helvete?! What the hell?!" He cussed in his native tongue, his hands dropping his book onto the ground when his hands shot out to grab the blonde before she tumbled over him completely. He would soon find his arms were wrapped firmly around the American’s waist and he had pulled her body down onto the picnic blanket with him.
It would have been charming, really, if she wasn’t sitting in his lap. With his arms still wrapped around her. At that moment, his usual calm demeanour was shattered, and he was left flustered, his cheeks glowing a soft pink hue. Felix liked to act confident and would usually snub the girls from Durmstrang that tried to interact with him, but this was... Unexpected. Interesting, really. He swallowed the growing lump in his throat and tried to speak. "Did you just learn to walk?" He found his voice, but it wasn’t what he had wanted to say. Dammit, he had to be friendly. He had told himself he would be. He wanted to ask if the girl was hurt in any form, but she ended up with an ear full of snark and a thin smirk on Felix’s face that only seemed to grow with his exchanged words. "Are you some kind of mermaid who only just earned human legs? I know I’m pale, but I’m not a ghost; I was sitting right here."
"Or maybe you fell on top of me on purpose? If you wanted to talk, you just had to approach me." No, he likely would have ignored her. This method was possibly the best. He couldn’t help but offer her a playful wink regardless and carefully slid her off of his lap. "Are you hurt?" He finally managed to ask, his pale blue eyes flickering over her form. She seemed to be unharmed. He, on the other hand, would likely bruise.

She considered attempting to put the sunblock on her back herself, but the thought soon vanished as someone walked up to her. Paige smiled, relieved that someone would help her. The brunette before her told her she liked her sunglasses and something else that wasn't in english. Paige brought her hand to her sunglasses automatically. "Oh- thanks!" Then the brunette explained what they had said and Paige raised her eyebrows. "Thanks, again. What language is that?" She asked.
She handed the sunscreen to the brunette and smiled again. "Thank you so much. Just on my back~ where the bathing suit has an open back. " She said. Cash introduced themselves to Paige. "Wow! A beater? That's cool! I'm Paige. Silly Hufflepuff~ soon to be in my second year." She said, joking a bit. It was cool that Cash was on the Slytherin team, especially as a beater. Paige always thought that the beaters were cool.
"I like your bathing suit by the way." She said, thinking how nice the colors were. "Oh, hey. If you're in Slytherin, you might know my friend Henry Knight. He's going into his third year, too~" She said to the beater.

A swim with @Haley Rose and @Cosmo Keith
He wasn't expecting her to throw herself on top of him, but then again, he should have. It was like she realized the buoyancy and the weight of the water would be to her advantage despite his larger size and she certainly was going to use it to her advantage.
When he surfaced he drew in a breath. He always loved that feeling of being underwater and then coming back up, it was almost like visiting another world for just a moment. "I think I'll stick to having you off duty as my lifeguard, Hales. Sorry," he laughed and glanced down for the slightest moment when she kissed his cheek. It wasn't embarrassment, it was that butterfly feeling effect and he loved that she still gave it to him.
Now, how to get her back? He had to think of something quick and seize his opportunity for revenge or wait...should he wait? Maybe the element of surprise would be best and he could get her back when she least expected it?
In the next moment, someone or something underwater tugged Haley down, and Simon might have been worried that Herman was coming for his 'toy' except he saw the swimsuit and legs of another kick below the water's surface. When Haley came up, so did her friend Cosmos who he had met previously, the first being at Haley's Birthday party.
"Right on cue, Cosmo," Simon said, offering out his hand for a high five. "Haley here just attacked me. PHYSICALLY attacked me. Tried to drown me. You came to my rescue and revenge. You shall stay for my protection and be my bodyguard."
His words were playing around for good fun but he also meant it. She should stay. Haley and Simon might have been a couple but they weren't that mushy couple that others couldn't be around or ignored others because they were together. 'Married' or not, they were only twelve!
Be kind to one another. (*iNPC is Miles Thatcher)

Hui Ming was already regretting coming to this school. He had gone against his parents’ wishes, begged, cajoled, bargained. He had wanted to fit in, to explore this new world of possibilities, to not be behind when the classes actually started.
On that front, he had failed miserably. He did not fit in here. Not at all.
The students were loud and obnoxious, and largely devoid of the concepts of decorum, or the idea of personal space. They were magical as he was, yes, but that was where the similarities between them ended. Students here enjoyed loud conversations, thinking without speaking, and always fidgeting and moving.
Not to even speak of their clothes! It was an informal event and Ming himself had chosen to dress down, wearing a button-up white shirt and gray pants. He even chose to forego his Oxfords for a much more modest pair of Converse shoes! But the manner of clothes (if they could even be called that) his peers had decided to don ranged from outrageous to downright offensive.
So Ming stayed away from the pool and its ‘partying’ (ugh!) and gravitated more towards the food baskets. A modest sandwich, some juice, and aimless wandering. Best to enjoy the small pleasures in life, to be left to oneself, and just observe those around him rather than lower himself to the positively plebian behavior that seemed to be almost expected in these gatherings.
Half-lost in thoughts, half-observing other students and not quite paying attention, the Chinese boy quite literally bumped into someone much larger than him – which wasn’t saying much when you were 4’6 and E V E R Y O N E was larger than him.
“Oof!” Ming blinked, confused. His half eaten sandwich having fallen to the ground. Did he bump into someone again? His reaction was automatic, his words out of him mouth before he was quite aware of saying them. “Apologies, I’m afraid I was rather elsewhere and did not quite pay attention to where I was going.”
He realized then that he had bump into a girl. Blast! He was probably going to get an earful about it. Hopefully he had not damaged her dress, or something equally scandalous.
Remember your manners, Ming.
“I hope I did not injure you, Miss?”
The curtains fell. And the silence was deafening

Languages Dialog Colors Characters Used English #008646 Noah Jupe ReducioThis is a short moment with Noah Jupe at the Lake Party.
Noah was a little terrified of the Spin the Bottle game that he played at the slumber party. He had to kiss his lookalike, and to be honest, he may have kissed the mirror before, but this situation was uniquely odd. He decided to go to the lake party he heard rumors about.
Noah walked over to the the shallow end of the pool in his crimson and navy blue swim shorts that are a little above his knees. There seemed to be a shortage on swim trunks in Noah's size. Plus, his family couldn't afford the expensive swim trunks anyways. Noah attempted to smile, he was glad he was wearing the swim trunks instead of speedos he heard rumors about.
Noah continued to wade out into deeper water. The clearish water began to reach his chin. He wasn't a very good swimmer, but he could swim only as far as the water touches his chin. Dog paddling around, he slowly swum back to shore, clearly splashing water everywhere. Noah got out of the water and then walked back to his cabin. Slowly drying off, he allowed himself to say a few words, "Special events may happen, but I seem to be scared of this year. Im sure Im not the only one. Everyone who is scared a little this summer, I offer some encouragement to you."

Haley slapped the flat of her hand to her heart and acted as if Simon's words had pierced her like a barrage. She dramatically dropped to the water, "this hurts too much." And before she could have made a theatrical exit, she was suddenly pulled under the water. Eyes wide, the Gryffindor girl said goodbye and was gone underwater. Haley could guess who she had to thank for that and when she resurfaced her suspicions were confirmed.
She looked at her laughing best friend, who was putting on a little show, but Cosmo had better not rejoice too soon. Haley didn't wait a second and threw herself on top of Cosmo and they both disappeared under the water again. "You should know better than to mess with me." Haley laughed as she clung to Cosmo's back like a monkey and wrapped her legs around her stomach so Cosmo was now her personal vehicle and hugged her from behind.
"Hold on Mister" she called out pointing at Simon. "I did NOT attack you." She now defended herself. "I was just helping you cool off a bit. I AM your bodyguard" Haley explained further showing her biceps and starting to laugh. She then whispered softly in Cosmo's ear. "He looks like he could use another cool down already, doesn't he?"

A lakeside party? How quaint. Although... could this really be considered a novelty or vacation when the grand majority of time during the regular school year was spent lounging in the crook of the roots beneath the canopy of shade near her favourite lakeside tree while reading that day's assignments? Perhaps. Perhaps not. There would be no homework nor pre-readings in sight today, however. No heavy leather-bound tome weighing her down. No strap of a burdensome school bag digging into her shoulder. Today, the sun shone down with the promise of a blissful afternoon with the aroma of tantalizing morsels drifting by on the refreshing breeze. A promise of leisure and fun.
And a complete lack of her usual privacy, Evelynn noted as a veritable hoard of peers and foreigners alike flocked like gulls to the area of the lake that had been transformed into something of a swimming pool. It was tempting. Even she had to admit that. A platform emerged partway out of the water with slide and jump boards. Just gazing out to it, she could envision the rush of air and thrill of excitement as stomach lurched into throat right before impact with the sun-kissed waters. If she were home in the comforts of familiar territory, she might even have partook, enjoying a swim as much as the next. But that... that would require a bathing suit and there was no way by Merlin's tangled beard that she would be disrobing to such a state of undress that would be required of a swim suit in front of this crowd. Especially not with the likes of Marshal lurking about.
Nope. Instead, Evelynn opted for the more dignified—albeit less actively engaging—path. Sporting a classic knee-length dress of navy and white to at least follow suit as thematically nautical, she veered away from the lake and instead towards the picnic. She'd chosen for herself a selection of sandwich corners, raspberries and a juice box and was just on the way to find herself a suitable perch to people-watch when something collided with her. Or rather, someone. Fortunately for her, after a cursory glance over her own person, little damage had been done. The juice had yet to be straw-tapped, and while she lost half a sandwich corner and half a dozen or so berries to the dirt underfoot, most of her lunch at least remained upon her plate. If perhaps a little dishevelled in its arrangement.
"Quite alright," came her calm reply, her steady steely gaze lifting from the sight of a half-eaten sandwich that had likewise fallen to the ground, to the hand that had dropped it, and then the face belonging to that. "You've been spared the faux-pas of soiling my dress," she chimed, the levity of her tone contrasted by the lack of a smile upon her lips.
Shoulders and form relaxing, her hands lowered to hover near to her hips, still carrying her lunch. The boy was unfamiliar to her. Not even simply in the sense that they hadn't yet been properly acquainted, but rather, she was quite certain she'd never seen his face before. Perhaps he was one of the foreign visitors. His appearance certainly seemed to suggest so. A moment of silence followed while she conducted her now customary scan, her scrutinizing gaze canvasing his appearance from the shade of his hair, to the style of his wear, right down to the shoes upon his feet, any accessories with which he had adorned himself and the very carriage of his stature.
"And no..." she added after the length pause, answering his question only after her gaze had once more sought out his. "...no harm has befallen me. I am quite alright, thank you."
Not that he could have exacted much damage by the size of him, she wagered. In fact, while she wasn't terribly tall herself (for a girl, at least) standing just a hair over 5 feet and 4 inches, the boy would find that her looks would be quite deceptive. Hers was an athletic figure. Beneath the humbly chic attire and lithe silhouette, hours of daily exercise had shaped and honed her endurance. Bumping into her had hardly left her physically jarred, nor had she at all lost her footing. She was accustomed to taking the brunt of a bludger, and he must have weighed no more than 5 stones soaking wet.
"You ought to take more care with where you're walking, though," came her warning. "There are those who may not take quite so kindly to such a blunder." A few easily came to mind who might simply have lashed out with a pummelling for a kid getting to blatantly in there way. Manners couldn't get you out of every mess, after all, no matter how eloquently put. "You said you were rather elsewhere," she noted, tilting her head curiously. "Is there something the matter?"

Selina squirted some sunscreen on Milosh's back and rubbed it in.
"You have a nice name, I had a cousin called Milo but now when I think about it Milosh and Milo are quite similar." Selina said to Milosh rubbing the sunscreen in, "I'm a Second Year, from Hogwarts in Ravenclaw House and a Quidditch Player second string Keeper." Selina finished as she announced this to Milosh.
"Hang on I think that girl needs help with sunscreen too, anyway I've finished with your sunscreen," Selina said pointing at the girl and rubbing the last bit of sunscreen in. "Then we can head in with the girl just in case she gets bored and lonely, HEY OVER HERE WE'LL HELP YOU WITH YOUR SUNSCREEN!" Selina ended shouting for the girl.
Selina thought it would be kind to help Milosh and that girl because otherwise they might both get bored if Selina went without them so they could have fun together.
"Once we've helped this girl if it's ok with you we could go in together, but if you just want it to be US TOGETHER then we could just do that it's fine by me. But I want to make sure it's ok if we have fun with the girl, I'm gonna help her get her sunscreen on because she might get sunburnt and now I think I'm talking too much so I'll shut up!" Selina said as she stopped talking at the end.

Ming had braced for a verbal lashing, and was rather surprised by the initial light tone of the lady. He stood, straight-backed and almost proud as she looked over his features - from the trimmed dark hair, to the intelligent grey eyes his thick glasses, to the spotless white shirt, tucking in to the gray pants. It was all very proper, despite the utter lack of a adornment that would give an indication of his allegiance: no markings or regalia that would assign him to one school or other; no sigils that might adorn him as the member of some noble family .
Just as the lady studied him, he appraised the lady. She towered over him, which was no surprise. What did surprise him was everything else he saw. Her manner if dress was acceptable (he would even go so far as to admit in his mind that it was reassuring), and went nicely with her auburn hair; her gray eyes almost matched his own. What struck him most, was the posture, and the quiet dignity about the lady.
"You ought to take more care with where you're walking, though. There are those who may not take quite so kindly to such a blunder."
A part of him wanted to scream. People here were dressed like beggars, acted like barbarians, and dealt with impossibilities on a regular basis as if it were the most normal thing in the world. And it was him that was making the blunder? Him, who had followed the dictates of politeness to the letter, and not that girl who would barge in on him, or the many boys who could not help but scream every half-baked through that popped into their head?
But that was unfair of him. This was Hogwarts, and this was normal. It was him, and his behaviors and expectations that were outside the norm, so of course he would be called out on it. And in this case, he could not even fault someone for it. He had no ground to stand on: he did bump into her. He was guilty of the carelessness that she accused him of. He had to be better about being aware of his surroundings. An air-headed fool boy reflected poorly not only on himself, but also on his breeding and family. And he would not bring shame to his family. Not here, amongst these.....people.
Ming only nodded in response. He would be better. He had to be.
"You said you were rather elsewhere. Is there something the matter?
"I am flattered by your concern, Miss," he started slowly. Now, what to tell her? He could hardly state his thoughts fully and openly. Other than the fact that it would be horribly impolite to burden a stranger with the gravity of his thoughts, it had other repercussions as well.
I think your very existence is a problem for us wizards.*
"I am... adjusting." He said finally, and not untruthfully. The best lies have a kernel of truth in them. "Intending no offence, Miss. Hogwarts and its students are magical. But they are not quite what I had been expecting." Ming tried to keep his voice level, but some degree of his bitterness still managed to slip through.
"HEY OVER HERE WE'LL HELP YOU WITH YOUR SUNSCREEN!"**
Ming could not but help glancing over to the pool, with its uninhibited, loud, obnoxious crowd of people. An involuntary shudder went through him at the sheer unspeakabality of the lack of decorum. What in the world were they thinking?? How this place managed to be both more uncivilized and think itself better than him, he would not quite understand.
The Chinese boy sighed, in resignation. "No point crying over spilt milk. I shall just have to watch and adapt to these strange people while I am here."

A nod. That was the boy's only response to Evelynn's mild reprimand. A humble acquiescence of his wrong-doing and the unspoken promise to take it to heart. Or so she assumed, anyway. It was refreshing in a way. All too often, any sort of rebuke would be met with instant bristling and defensive obstinance. The amount of students who seemed to think it acceptable to break basic decorum was astounding. This boy--at least so far--did not appear to be among that number. Almost before her very eyes, he seemed to deflate. Evelynn almost felt bad for having spoken against his action. Almost. It was still safer to heed the warning. After all, the level headed few were just that. Few. Too many others would easily lash out in vengeance and she would sooner not see another attempted drowning in the lake to "teach a lesson" to someone who'd committed an innocent mistake.
"It's Decipio."
The continued use of "Miss" to address her was flattering. Another window of crisp air in the fog of choking insolence that had settled around the castle at the whims of its undisciplined inhabitants. But as she couldn't have been more than a couple years the boy's elder, it seemed odd to be graced with an honorific such as that. A hypocritical notion, perhaps, given that Evelynn consistently insisted on using just that very prefix when addressing a number of her upperclassmen. Nevertheless, supplying her name in place of the generic title seemed appropriate.
"My name, that is," she clarified, transitioning her juice to balance precariously on her plate in order to extend her now freed hand forward for a shake. "Evelynn Decipio. And no offense taken," she added, the hint of a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
It was then that two and two fell into place and she deduced that he was not, in fact, a visiting student; but rather must have been one of those in the process of enrolment at Hogwarts. He'd said Hogwarts and its students were magical. As though that were the delta variable. Not that they were odd. Or some other descriptor. If he had been one of the foreign students, it would have made little sense to highlight that arcane ability; every one of those schools was magical. So this period of adjustment… it could only have meant he had been raised a muggle.
"Give yourself some time. It's an odd business, having that carpet of comfort pulled completely from your feet. I imagine you've lived the entirety of your life being told magic wasn't real and denizens of the dark were but a figment of your imagination. And now, all of a sudden, you've been presented with evidence to the contrary and thrust into a world with values all of its own and rules that seem incomprehensible. Which, really, they are…"
She trailed off after that, glancing thoughtfully back towards the picnic area before returning her gaze again to the boy. "If you haven't plans already, you'd be more than welcome to sit with me. Perhaps I can lay to rest some of your questions. I'm sure you have many..?"
