To say that Ivy was excited to be on the Gryffindor Quidditch team was an understatement. Her father had once been a professional Quidditch player, and she had been taught how to play from a very young age. It had been expected that she would play at Hogwarts as well, and although Ivy hadn't been able to fulfil that expectation straight away, she was sure that her parents would be proud to find out that she was officially the second-string Keeper for Gryffindor. She had let them down so many times in the past few months, and Ivy was awaiting her parents' reply to her excitedly written letter explaining her new position on the team.
However, along with that excitement came nervousness as well. Ivy hadn't really played Quidditch since her arrival at Hogwarts, and her skills were... rusty. She couldn't remember the last time she touched a Quaffle, and that concerned her more than she liked to admit. Ivy had been avoiding all Quidditch pitches ever since the Blossom Ball - they brought back some memories that she would rather not remember. However, it was inevitable that she would have to go at some point now that she was on the team, and, hey, the sooner the better, right? Life would move on, and Ivy would have to move with it.
The Gryffindor walked out onto the pitch, clutching a broomstick. She cast her gaze around the place, trying to block out any thoughts of the Blossom Ball. It wasn't exactly sunny, the sky the colour of a dove's wing - no sign of rain yet, but Ivy would keep an eye out anyway. She hesitated slightly, wondering if this was really a good idea. Maybe she should just return to her dormitory... No. Stop. "You're here to train, not to mope," she muttered to herself as she mounted the broom. "Get a grip..."
As soon as she took off, she felt better. Ivy didn't know how to describe the feeling of flying, but it was so... freeing. She soared higher up, gloved hands clutching the wooden shaft of the broom. Now that she thought of it, perhaps it was a good thing that it was cloudy, because the sun wasn't in her eyes. Hovering high up near the goalposts, Ivy observed the pitch with a smile, grey eyes bright and cheeks pink from the wind. Everything looks so different from this point of view - she could see the turrets of the castle and the dark blur of trees in the Forbidden Forest nearby. With the wind rushing past her and the world at her feet, the Gryffindor felt like she could do almost anything on a broomstick.

Quaffles and Revelations
@Ivy BellamyHugh, Piérre's previous teacher and idol had just... up and left. That had left Piérre in the place of a first-string Keeper, a position that Piérre hadn't even intended to play. He had longed to play the position of Seeker, the player perpetually on their toes and in a state of constant worry of being targeted, whose sole purpose was to snatch a little golden orb out of thin air. Then, of course, there had been a position for Beater... but considering the Britalian's weak arms, despite his moderate aim, the position would not suit him exceptionally well. No, it was not until a second string for the Keeper opened up that Piérre finally found a position that fit his skillset. Accuracy, agility, and some strength, though the last skill was not exceptionally important unless he attempted the Quaffle game. But what reason would he have for that? His job was in defending the hoops.
So, with advancing to the first string position, that meant that there had to be another student that would take the place that Piérre had left behind. It was for that reason that Piérre had been running about the school, looking for anyone who had any idea of who the new player was. In the end, however, Piérre had resorted to checking the roster as soon as it had been put up, discovering the identity of one Ivy Bellamy. An Italian name if he had ever heard one, Piérre felt a sudden affinity for the girl, even though he had never even met her before. Since they were Keepers, perhaps Piérre could teach her some important skills in defending and utilizing split second decision making to unnerve or focus in on the current predicament.
Snagging his loyal School Broom, Piérre sprinted out to the training pitch, taking deep breaths of the fresh outside air. He loved being outside, it gave him a sort of freedom, a sense of being at one with the laws of all nature. It was peace, and he could already see an individual soaring above the Quidditch training pitch. Piérre smiled as he put a hand over his eyes, shading them as he watched the person soar above. Perhaps... perhaps this was Ivy? If so, she already had the tags down pat.
Without missing a beat, Piérre mounted his broom, kicking off and willing himself to become lighter than air itself. In an instant he was kissing the clouds and embracing the cool air. With lightning speed (or as lightning of a speed as a School Broom could handle), Piérre zipped over the pitch, glancing at the person along with him in the skies. With a nosedive, Piérre plummeted towards the Pitch, noting a leather ball left behind from a previous Quidditch practice. If the two of them were keepers, then what better way to practice defending and scoring with the Quaffle?

Snagging it with one hand, Piérre pulled upwards, towards the other person. With a bright smile and rippling blue robes fluttering behind him, Piérre came face to face with a fair complexion and burnt red hair bordering on a neat brown. "Hi! I'm Piérre Marchonné! Are you Ivy Bellamy?" Piérre chirped brightly, his emerald betraying the visage of a trickster despite his wisdom-supposing robes. "I'm the first string... Do you want to practice together? Are you excited to play? I sure am!"
Start on the right foot, be pleasant, be happy. Piérre truly wanted a relationship with Ivy. But... Piérre frowned a bit. The girl looked a little... pensive. Tipping his head, Piérre's brows creased in concern as the corners of his mouth fell and pressed together tightly. "Is something eating you? What's up?"

Quaffles and Revelations
─────────❖─────────@Piérre Marchonné"Ah! Hi!"
The arrival of the first string Keeper was decidedly unexpected, and the sudden sound of his voice, far too bright and chipper for Ivy's liking and seemingly out of place up in the air, startled the girl so much she nearly fell off her broom. "For the love of Merlin!" Ivy's pale cheeks coloured with embarrassment as she righted herself, her grip on the broomstick even tighter. Not only was the almost-fall rather frightening, it was also just plain embarrassing. "Yes, I'm Ivy Bellamy. Pleased to meet you." She took in the boy's appearance, brows furrowing slightly in confusion at the sight of blue trimmed robes instead of red.
Piérre extended an invitation to practise together. Ivy hesitated for a second, then eased a smile onto her face. It would be easier to train with someone else, and besides, Piérre seemed alright. To her surprise, she found she didn't find the interruption annoying - perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. Training here while thinking about the Ball would not have ended well. "I'd love to train together, and yes, I suppose I'm excited," she replied, with a little laugh. "But I'm out of practise. I haven't played in a long time."
To her surprise, Ivy felt strangely confident on the broomstick despite not having flown for months. She was a little worried about messing up now that she had someone with her, but there was no fear or panic at being on a pitch like she had expected. A fear of falling wasn't irrational when you were playing Quidditch, but all Ivy could think of was how high up she was, and not how far she could fall. Aww, look at me, being all bright and hopeful. It appeared that her pessimistic side had disappeared for now.
"Hmm?" Ivy turned her attention back onto Piérre at his question. "Oh, nothing," she waved it off with a smile. "It just feels odd to be flying again. Obviously we have Flying classes too, but I haven't come here on my own for a while. I've been busy."─────────❖─────────

Quaffles and Revelations
@Ivy Bellamy"Oh! Psh!" Piérre snorted, waving a hand. "No such thing as out of practice! Just the rhythm of getting into things! It's nice to meet'cha as well!"
Piérre's voice was no quieter than when he had first shown up; the obvious obnoxiousness of the boy more than evident, even with his cheerful nature.
He considered the statement that Ivy had mentioned; that Flying class was somewhat helpful. That was a sentiment that, personally, Piérre disagreed with. With Olphie and River... teaching methods had either been flamboyant and somewhat unguided, or perhaps a little more structured and vastly different than the first methods that Olphie had utilized. Naturally this resulted in a little confusion and disorientation between the classes, but it wasn't as if Piérre payed attention to the class curriculum to begin with. Flying was something that he took to naturally; like a fish to water, and with the side sport of Quidditch, it was impossible not to be in the air. "Maybe... I find that instinct is often better in flying than learning about it. I mean, theory is cool, but there is nothing like just doing what you gut tells ya." Piérre shrugged, tipping his head from side to side and hugging the Quaffle to his chest.
Weaving from side to side, Piérre tucked the ball under his arm again. "So... let's get started! Stop me from scoring!"
Before Ivy could have a chance to complain, the Britalian was already zipping across the field, rather haphazardly, truth be told, but like a hummingbird, feeling the wind whip in his face and the cool wind caressing his form. As he went, he turned for a split second, an impish smile spreading across his face. "The best way to learn is through competition! Catch me if you can!"
