Skylar Blue | Second Year | Gryffindor

Skylar is usually seen as cheerful and optimistic, visible from her radiant smile and enthusiastic voice. She is extroverted and enjoys adapting new things, no matter how daunting. She had originally wanted to be in Ravenclaw, as she devotes herself to studying and enjoys enrichment from books. Her yearning for knowledge and academic ambitions would have painted her as the perfect Ravenclaw. However, it is Skylar's friendliness and courageous heart that truly makes her a Gryffindor. Not only does she desire to achieve success in her studies, but she also strives to make a change. Her willingness and determination, though she has yet to find out, will truly bring her further than she could have ever thought.

Despite her outgoing personality, there are also flashes of Skylar when she does not have her mask of friendliness. Just because she is quick to smile does not mean she is completely aloof. Skylar is actually surprisingly observant, scarily so. She has near perfect memory, and can recall details that others may miss. Though she tries her best to keep a cheerful demeanor, Skylar is also capable of being stern. It is not often, but when Skylar becomes angered, she does not lash out. Instead, her fury brews inside of her into a cold, quiet thing. She plans, she calculates, and she executes. However, she can still be quite hot-headed sometimes, but that is merely because of her emotions at the moment. She tends to be quick to forgive afterwards. It is when she is truly irate that she will utilize her anger in a calculating way.

Skylar, after all, is also still a kid. She has flaws she needs to fix and habits she needs to change. Though her determination is a valuable trait that drives her forward, it is also a fatal flaw. Her stubbornness may wrong people in a way and she will push for something that others may not be comfortable with. And though she is observant, she is also naive. She believes that making friends will be easy, and her journey at Hogwarts will be this one bug, happy journey throughout the years. Little does she know she will meet rivals, conflict, and danger. But she will also meet friends, who will help her grow into a better person and accompany her through tough decisions. Skylar can also be rash and careless without thinking things through. Many things she does are based on impulse, despite her supposed liking for plans. And soon she will make many choices she will regret, but she will also make many choices where she is glad she took the leap. Bold and confident, Skylar strives to achieve ambitious goals and hopes for the future. However, it is not only the destination, but the journey to her dream.

Skylar is around 4'7", average height for her age (12). She has clear, blue eyes, fair skin, and light freckles dusting her face. She has curtain bangs and her hair length goes down to around the middle of her back. Skylar has light blue hair, which really leans into the whole 'blue' theme of her character. Her original hair color was chestnut, but she was able to dye her hair from winning a bet with her parents. She also tends to wear her hair in loose, flowy styles. Sometimes she would incorporate intricate hair clips or ribbons during events.

Her outfit usually includes light and flowy dresses, elegant and posh. Skylar had been taught since a young age to dress modestly and elegantly, and choose clothes that signify her grace and maturity. Other than that, she would wear light and athletic clothes. It is a must for such an energetic girl, as dresses do not pose as the best choice for running or climbing.

One noticeable wardrobe item Skylar always has is a golden locket around her neck. It contains a photo of her treasured family, reminding her of home when she is far away. It was a gift from her late Grandmother, and Skylar cherishes it very much. She also had her ears pierced when younger, so you will see her wear earrings during special events. She does wear simple ones occasionally on normal days, but she often forgets to put them on. She prefers to sleep in more than anything, really.

One thing that Skylar enjoys very much is flying. She has heard stories from her father's glory days, as well as read the news on all the past and recent Quidditch games. When she was younger, she fantasized about the feeling of being in the air. She feels it would be incredibly magical to be above the clouds and have the wind whizz past her. She cannot wait to join Quidditch, or even broom racing, in the future. Her parents and family have a strong feeling that Skylar is going to be wonderful on the field. That is why Skylar is already a prodigal learner of flying in her first year at Hogwarts. She spends her free time training in the grounds, practicing her skills with the broom. She has learned some simple tricks, like backflipping on the broom or hanging upside down. However, what she really needs is an opportunity to truly fly and compete.

Another thing Skylar is talented at is drawing. Specifically architectural and landscape sketches. She takes her time drawing her surroundings and would usually just start sketching when bored. She has gotten skilled in drawing perspective and clean drawings, so her sketches come out realistic and detailed. While she prefers drawing buildings with a pen, she also enjoys drawing landscapes with watercolors and markers. Her renditions of nature are often soft and calm, capturing the gentle glow of the sun and tender atmosphere. However, portraits and people are a different story. She can draw cute doodles, but realism? Not at all. Skylar has been trying to sharpen her anatomy and shading, but her creations usually end up a little... weird. But fret not, she has been searching for ways to improve her artistic abilities, so hopefully Skylar's human renditions will no longer look like aliens from another universe.

When she was younger, Skylar also took voice lessons as well as learned the violin. She loves to sing, especially songs that make her feel. She also has an affinity towards musicals and plays, so it is often for her to be seen singing her heart out with theatrics. She is also quite skilled with the violin, as she was taught it from a young age of five. When she plays, it is almost as if she flows with the music, her eyes closed and in the moment. Playing the violin, to her, is a beautiful thing. She feels more connected to the magic that is in her. It gives her peace. So, despite being skilled with the violin, her musical talent is the only thing that Skylar is hesitant to show others. Singing is fine, but playing the violin? To her, it feels personal. Intimate. She feels it is only something for her and the walls. Hopefully, one day she can overcome this and be willing to share her talent with the world.

Skylar loves adorable critters. Or anything cute really. Her favorites are bunnies and any little feathered friends. It is common for her to drop everything at hand and pet the animals. She also squeals at an extremely high voice when she sees something cute. Guess those singing classes did help.

Skylar is an absolute sucker for food. She loves trying new foods and eats anything on her plate. Or even outside her plate. Her parents were beyond overjoyed to find that their daughter was not a picky eater. It does concern them though the way Skylar inhales her plate like a vacuum, as well as her terrifying appetite. They would often try to get Skylar to slow her eating, but it is futile to stop a hurricane. However, Skylar does get hangry if she did not eat enough. She needs food to sustain her high energy, after all.

Skylar also has a certain affinity for the theatrics. Ever since a kid, her parents would sometimes bring her to see the Muggle plays and productions. At the very first sight of the stage, Skylar already fell in love with theater. The bold confidence and captivating stories are just perfect for her. She loves musicals especially. There is something about singing that makes the production sound like it came from the soul. She loves classical plays like Shakespeare, as well as the modern "Broadway Musicals" from the United States. Her favorites include A Mid-summer Night's Dream, Macbeth, Hadestown, and Hamilton.

Skylar also enjoys reading very much. No matter what genre or author, as long as she can learn or enrich herself, she shall read it. However, Skylar has found a new obsession with the muggle genre of fiction. Not only does it satisfy Skylar's wild imagination, it also amazes her with the unexpected plot twists. The fictional fantasy and creativity is something that Skylar, who spent most of her childhood with educational books, is completely surprised by. She find the way muggles portray magic entertaining and immerses herself within the world of imagination.

And like stated above, Skylar has an incredible imagination. She draws and creates stories in her head. Her mind is constantly filled with ambitions, dreams, and new ideas. So much so that she can entertain herself alone in a room. Please do not mind if you catch Skylar staring in your direction. She is not judging, she is merely spacing out. Yet, sometimes that is the method for her to get wonderful ideas.
