xxxSkylar walks into the Magical Menagerie with her parents, an excited bounce to her steps. As her first school year in Hogwarts come to an end, Skylar's parents decided that she was finally ready for a furry companion. They have expressed their pride in not only Skylar's high grades, but also how she has grown. Though it has only been one year, the young girl has became more willing to listen, more courageous, and even more understanding. There is no way to sum up all the adventures she had in Hogwarts, but she supposes some stories are only for her to know.

And, perhaps, the new companion she would be getting today. Skylar looks around the bustling shop, various kinds of animals residing in their cages, waiting to be adopted. However, there is only one type of animal that little Sky has her eyes set on, and that is a bunny. It is well-known among her friends and family how much the girl loves these fluffy little creatures, so it is no surprise when she made a straight beeline for the bunny area.

"Mom, look how adorable they are!" Skylar all but squeals with delight. Her voice is pitched extremely high, even for her young vocal cords, but that is just how she acts when she is excited. The little balls of fluff (though pygmy puffs would fit that description better) hop around the den, coming closer now that they have company.

A wide grin splits Skylar's face as she squats down to pet the bunnies, the creatures curious at the witch that suddenly showed up at their home. A particularly friendly bunny with a golden mane approaches the girl, affectionately nuzzling up to her hand.

"Ah, it looks like the Lionhead Thumper took a liking to you!" Charlotte, Skylar's mother, comments. Skylar raises her eyebrows at the name. Lionhead Thumper? She looks back at golden bunny that has now made a home in her lap. She supposes it does look like a lion, given the bushy mane it sports.

"Hah! A Lionhead Thumper for the little lion in the house! Is that not fitting?" Her father teases, a crooked grin gracing his face. Skylar sticks out her tongue and blows a raspberry in response.

However, the bunny quickly got bored and hopped off her lap. Skylar frowns a little at the lost of her possible new companion, trying to call it back. But before she could, the Lionhead Thumper appears to have found another human, one that picked it off the ground and carried it away. Skylar tries to fight the overwhelming sadness that suddenly weighs at her. The fact the bunny had left Skylar for someone else kind of hurts, despite it probably being her fault for waiting so long. She had merely wanted to bond with the rabbit more, but looks like the impatience of the bunny won out.

"Hey, don't look so down. I am sure there are plenty other little fluff balls here who want you as their friend."

Skylar lets out a half-hearted hum, her previous excitement washed down the drain. What if the rest of the bunnies do not like her? However, her train of thought was quickly interrupted as she feels something tug on her pants.

Skylar turns to look behind her, but cannot seem to find the source. Tug. Tug. Tug. The little pulls seem to become more insistent, the force increasing. Finally, instead of scanning the area around her, Skylar looks directly down at her pants leg... and finds a grey ball.

She tilts her head in curiosity as the little thing seems to be gnawing on her pants' leg. Carefully, her hand scoops up the creature, prying it away gently from the fabric it is currently munching away on. The little thing was barely bigger than her palm, and she cannot help but notice the two ears sticking up from its head.

It was a bunny!

Skylar immediately lets out a gasp of delight at the tiny creature, her voice pitching high again as she calls her parents. "Mom, dad, look! It's such a tiny little bunny!"

Her dad raises his eyebrows curiously at the bunny in her palm. "You sure that is an actual bunny or just a dust bunny?"

"Huh, it looks like a mist hopper! Mist hoppers are often timid due to their small size, but it appears this one likes you especially."

Skylar giggles as the bunny nibbles on her palm, the ticklish sensation traveling up her hand. It seems to be really fond of eating anything in sight, because soon it began trying to eat her sleeves, too.

"I think we might have to feed it soon before it eats my clothes."

With that, the family went and bought more supplies to provide for their new member. The friendly owners of the shop also informed Skylar that the mist hopper can reside in her pocket as well. Due to its small size and nature of burrowing, it actually finds it quite comfortable. Or, rather, he finds it quite comfortable. The little bunny she decided to adopt is apparently a fine gentleman. Less sassy than the ladies, the owner had told her.

Leaving the shop with the bunny in her pocket, Skylar cannot stop the smile that settles on her face.

"Have you thought of what you are going to name him?" Her mother asks curiosly.

"Well, Mr. Bunnikins, of course. My stuffed bunny is Mr. Fluffikins, what did you think was going to be my bunny's name?"
