Samuel Reinhard Sauber was not born. He was manufactured. His parents, if one could call them that were neither lovers nor romantics. They were architects. Cold minds with aligned objectives and not affections.

His father, a former muggle geneticist ██████ ███ █ █████████ ███████, turned ideological purist had long discarded his name and origins. After encountering magic through sheer misfortune or fate, as some would call it. He came to view it not as wonder but as Validation. This appearance of magic confirmed to him every hypothesis he had ever held about the evolutionary potential of human beings.

The couple met in what the wizarding world refers to as the Bavarian Alps. In truth however, it was a closed door gathering of intellectual purists and fringe magical aristocracy. A breeding ground for theories too dangerous to be published and minds too detached for society. She was a pureblood from a long decaying household. Austere and calculating, her fortune had outlived her family's relevance.

She found in the muggle scientist what she had never managed to find in her own world. A man willing to become a lie in order to prove his point. He renounced his identity in full. Burned his documents, reconstructed his lineage on paper. She funded his silence among many others.

Their union while wasn't deliberate, it wasn't a consequence of desire either. More like a contract, to form one body, grown to their own specifications.

Sauber was the result.

They selected traits as far as one could in the muggle world. She did not truly understand the chaotic will of science but believed arrogantly that through rituals, genetics and structural discipline, they could coax the being into precision.

His father charted genes, hormonal patterns and even ancestral bloodlines. His mother consulted decrepit wizards and witches ███ ███ ██ ███ ███████ ████. Together they orchestrated not just a child, but a result.

From the beginning, Sam was expected to be clean, controlled and impressive. He was trained in posture before he could write. Taught the importance of silence before language. Errors seen as inefficiencies and not missteps. Emotions were dissected not soothed.

And yet, despite all their work, the outcome was not theirs.

Because Samuel was not controllable. He absorbed structure yes, he devoured it, mastered it. But never submitted to it. His intellect outran their expectations before adolescence. And worse, he saw through them: the desperation marked as precision, the self delusion of the couple marked as superiority.

Subjected exhibited controlled and disciplined psychological profile. Distinguishing factors included exceptional cognitive acuity, emotional restraint and a pronounced capacity for independent decision making ability under extreme stress situations. Sauber's interpersonal demeanor appears to be detached but not entirely antagonistic. Samuel Sauber is by all means, a man governed not by human empathy but by assessment.

Every individual he encounters is rapidly, almost involuntarily, catalogued, measured against a private set of standards that Sam neither explains nor adjusts. These standards are rarely met. He sees most people as unfinished drafts of who they think they are; of who they wish they could be. Sloppy, self congratulatory and frankly, tragically unaware of their own mediocrity.

He isn't unkind but rather indifferent to the need for kindness. His interactions remain surgical to present day, clipped, efficient and devoid of any warmth or unnecessary inflection. Samuel leaves no room for vulnerability, no intimacy and no sentiment.

He will speak to you, indulge in conversation and perhaps even more. But what you shall receive is not conversation, merely evaluation masked as dialogue.

He does not confide in anyone nor does he make any attempts at bonding. He listens to others the same way a scholar studies his research, curious with what went wrong.

This detachment of man from flesh however is not accidental. It is intentional insulation. Built by Sam himself across years of exposure to false sincerity and shallow intellect. He does not care about being feared or liked, though ideally he is neither. ██ ██ █████████ █████ ██████ █ ██████ █████████ ████. He prefers to be respected from a distance.

In summary, Samuel is a scalpel disguised as a man. Precise, sharp and rarely comfortable when deployed.

Samuel Reinhard Sauber is a man who has curated his appearance with the same precision he has applied to his spellwork. Deliberate, composed and calculated at every move to repel unnecessary familiarity. He is a tall figure with aristocratic features, etched into his very being as opposed to grown through time. █ ██████████ ███ █████ █████████. His blonde hair is slicked back with an obsessive neatness, not a strand out of place; even chaos itself would be too intimidated to tamper with him.

His skin is fair. The man moves with a kind of practiced efficiency. Every step he takes is intentional, every motion of his hints at his war with frivolity. His presence carries the chill of a closed-off room, the kind with no access to a window or a room; much less a visitor.

What people usually find the most unsettling however are his eyes, or rather what he hides them behind. Samuel wears red contact lenses charmed to stay stable with his daily tasks. The color a charming and striking red. A decision not made for theatricality but rather a test. A filter. ███ ████ ██ ████████ ████.

His aesthetic invites scrutiny, discomfort, rumors and superstitions from others. He welcomes them. However, you'll rarely see them as his eyes remain hidden behind his dark expressionless sunglasses. Even indoors, even underground.

When questioned, which most learn not to do twice, Sam offers no justification. He believes none is owed. The glasses simply serve their purpose, to obscure intention. What people can not read, they can not uses. And if they were unsettled by his gaze, good. They should be unsettled. Discomfort is a useful barrier, it keeps the weak minded exactly where they belong; at a distance. ████████ █ ████████ ██████-██████.

His clothing mirrors his philosophy, always fitted always pristine. No unnecessary flair, no big branding. He wears black gloves in winters and does not remove them when shaking hands.

Samuel's first act of unintentional magic was violent, explosive and utterly unclean. It occurred during an argument with his father where the muggle man attempted to reassert his control. Sam could not have that, he could no longer enable even a moment's control of his life to this man who'd only seek him for results.

Samuel was nine, emotionally distraught as he wanted nothing more than to be in a room far far away from this figure of authority. In his rage and tears even Sam had no idea what was happening in his surroundings. Windows cracked, cutlery lifted a few inches in the air and a crack appeared right in the middle of their table.

When his father came back to his senses, Samuel stood there, his figure now calm. His father left the room shaking but his mother? She enjoyed the view she had just witnessed.

Smiling at the boy, neither of them attempted to discipline the boy again.

By the time his Hogwarts letter arrived, he had already rejected both of their advances and attempts to reconcile or mend their already twisted relation. He saw their failure not as personal, they weren't close enough for betrayal but as design flaws in the upbringing of his own parents.

They had built and trained a machine they could not understand, something so detached from the normal morals of humanity. He didn't hate them as he grew up, he simply found them inefficient.

They attempted to keep contact during his schooling, yet none of their letters were returned aside from important information.

NOTES. Katherine has always been–impossible to miss. People either warm to her immediately or recoil just as fast from her strange exhibition of behaviour. I understand both reactions, she can be overwhelming; She is. Her softness is both her greatest virtue and her most dangerous flaw. She care, Persistently, stubbornly. Against evidence, against self-preservation. I think she is a fool for it. I also think the world would be better off with more Katherines and fewer of Samuels. Where I anticipate betrayal, I see her anticipating connections. Her early years were not as gentle as her disposition would suggest–there are fractures there, quiet, deep ones. But she refuses to let them calcify her. That alone sets her apart from the tyrannical crowd wielding wands.
