PHYSICAL APPEARANCE | Haven is 138cm, quite average for her age. She is relatively thin and healthy. Her space blue eyes make her gaze peculiar while staring at something. One can feel a sense of nostalgia by eyeing her when she is concentrating. She usually lets down her wavy ginger hair as she likes feeling the tips brushing her shoulders. Her facial features are relatively discreet and subtle, except for the dimple on her right cheek, appearing whenever she smiles. Her natural face looks bubbly and cute.

PERSONALITY | She is studious, which makes her seem mature for her age.
She is usually friendlier with fictional characters rather than with real-life people. However, she is not a complete introvert as she can gather the courage to engage in conversations with interesting people, but she prefers when these people come to her first.
Once she is friends with someone, she can defend them with all her might, even if they are wrong (but she still points out, right after, that they were wrong). She is also really patient and loves to help. She can sometimes be seen as funny by her friends.
She loves it when someone laughs at one of her jokes.
(That is the best way to befriend her actually!).
She is also sometimes too honest, which can trigger misunderstandings. She is loud around people she knows. You see or hear her in that case, even if you are passing by and are not part of her friend group. When she sets her mind on discovering or proving something, she does not stop until she gets to the bottom of it. Although she is never satisfied with what she produces or does, the outcome often satisfies her. She is stubborn. But like stubborn, stubborn. Making her change her mind or accept her mistakes is close to impossible.
She fears conflicts and will avoid them at all costs. If she sees someone picking a fight, one can be sure that she will stay on that impression. She will avoid you like the plague.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC | The first time she showed her ability to do magic was accidentally at a diner. Her father scolded her because she did not show the minor sign of magic yet, which he disapproved of (as he didn't want a squib as his daughter). She got so angry and ashamed that she smacked the table violently. She then went to her room, and ten minutes later, her parents hugged her. They told her that when she hit the table, her father's glass stayed in the air for a few seconds before spilling the wine on her father's shirt. At first, she did not understand the point of their explanation. Then, they emphasised that it spilt "by itself", which made her smile widely, as it proved that she was indeed a witch. The ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it. Core Reducio Dragon Heartstring: Dragon heartstrings produced wands with the most magical power, and which were capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tended to learn more quickly than other types. While they could change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bonded strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tended to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it would not incline that way of its own accord.

	Elvera Rivers (née Lys) Birthday = October 21, 1984 Who is she? (Face claim: Bridget Regan) Her mother is French and learned magic at Beauxbatons. She works as a writer and publishes spell books. She moved from France and settled in Hastings, England when Haven was only 6. Reducio Elvera is quite demanding with her daughters' results in school. She wants them to have the best grades as she, herself, graduated with honours. She is highly proud of her family's pureblood heritage, she would strongly disagree if one of her daughters decided to date a muggle. Although she wants to preserve her family's pure bloodline and would refuse muggles to be part of it, she still respects them as long as they don't mess with her family's line.
	Glyn Rivers Birthday = September 7, 1981 Who is he? (Face claim: Travis Van Winkle) Her father is English and was sorted into Ravenclaw. He works in the Ministry of Magic in Level 3: Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. He is an Obliviator and part of the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad. Reducio Glyn was disappointed with Haven being sorted into Hufflepuff as he thought she would be part of Ravenclaw. Like his wife, he pressures his daughters to graduate with "at least" an Optimal average for Haven and a 10 average for Lilah. He is also strongly against muggles being part of the family. We can't qualify it as hate but he is less respectful toward muggle than his wife.
	Lilah Rivers Birthday = April 10, 2007 Who is she? (Face claim: Abigail Cowen) Her sister stayed in France and is currently attending BeauxBatons Academy of Magic. She is in her fifth year and visits rarely her family in Hastings. She sometimes owls letters to Haven. Reducio Lilah enrolled in BeauxBatons the year her family was leaving France and was sorted into the house Ombrelune. She stayed there and stays at the school during the holidays. She visits her family once every year during the summer as she cannot stay at the school. She is close with her sister and owls letters to her but she is so busy with her exams and the urge to have the best grades that she studies non-stop. She misses Haven a lot and that can be seen in her letters and when she finally sees her each summer. She wishes for Haven to live her life by herself and not fall into the trap of parental academic pressure as she did.

BEFORE HOGWARTS │2012-2023

Haven was born on March 14th, 2012 in Lyon, France. She is a pure-blood wizard. Her mother is Elvera Rivers (née Lys) and her father is Glynn Rivers. She has an older sister, Lilah Rivers, who is attending BeauxBatons Academy of Magic. She lived in Lyon until she was seven years old. At that time, she still wasn't able to perform magic and her sister enrolled in BeauxBatons as she was eleven at that time. Her family then moved to Hastings, England. She lived there a pretty common life for a pure-blood. Homeschooled, she was not able to attend a muggle school. Prohibited. Not because of her blood status, but because her parents were strongly against her meeting with muggles and befriending them. Muggles haters you could call them. She was taught spells as soon as she was able to cast them.

Haven showed signs of magic later than her pairs. To tell the truth, that fact embarrassed her father as he didn't want a squib as his daughter. Her first instance with magic happened when she was around 7 years old. As always since they have left France and her sister there, she was eating dinner in absolute silence with her parents, expressing her discontent with Lilah attending BeauxBatons Academy.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, her father exploded with anger. He did not understand why Haven had not yet shown the minor sign of magic and like whenever he started on that subject she answered frankly that it was not her fault. It wasn't for sure. To be fair, we could blame nature for that matter. However, her father never agreed with her. If she failed to show her ability to do magic, she was not living upon the expectations of her family name. In other words, she was a failure which was all her fault. Her father made sure she understood that. Then, as always, she was enraged by her father's claims. Unlike the other times, she did not stop yelling. She decided that it was enough and as she left the room, she smacked the table violently. It was a way to display her discontent.
Back to her room, she cried. Bursting into tears was usual for her when they talked about her inexistent magic. Her parents kept pressuring her on matters that were not of her resort. It was not in her control to suddenly be able to cast spells.
However, this time was different. No more than a few minutes after she ran to her room, her parents were there, on the threshold of the door, smiling at her with a sort of proud parental look on their faces. She did not understand at first. Why would they be smiling at her after her anger crisis? She was disrespectful to them. Then, seeing her confusion probably, her parents entered and hugged her tightly, giving her words of encouragement. From what she managed to perceive, she seemed to have shown her ability to do magic. She could not believe it. What happened? Her parents told her that when she hit the table, her father's glass stayed in the air for a few seconds before spilling the wine it held, by itself, on her father's shirt.
She was the cause of it. It was the sign that she deserved the Rivers' name.

She only ever knew one muggle. Her pen pal. She decided to write to her to understand the muggle world better. Haven never chosen her pen pal. She decided to write a letter to an undefined recipient and left it in a park, not too far from her home. Then every day, she went back to the park, hoping to not see her letter there anymore. One day, instead of her letter, she found another letter, answering hers. That way, she started exchanging letters with that stranger who turned out to be a muggle female around her age. She built a friendship with her. A solid one. Haven never met in person her only muggle friend, nor that friend knows about her ability to do magic. Moreover, she was still her only friend, beside her sister. Her parents do not know about it. They would be firmly against it, for sure.

She still remembers how she received her letter from Hogwarts. Effervescent news. That was the word. Although she knew she would attend the school, it is never the same as actually receiving the letter of admission. Joy. Proudness. And relief.
