BACKSTORY:
She was born late at night, and her mother often liked to say she had drawn the night sky down into her hair and the stars into her smile.

Vittoria was named for victory and strength, and secondarily for the flowers that shall bloom in her path- at the very least, that's what she heard her father tell people when asked. The beauty in her will only follow after her success, she was reminded time and time again, and that the world is always the greatest after victory.

Victory took upon different meanings for Vittoria than it did for the rest of her family.

Her brother and mother, both Slytherins, are spurred on by pure ambition. Her mother clawing her family's name up from the dirt nearly single-handedly, her brother reaching out internationally to tie them back into the rest of the world, deciding he never wanted his name to be forgotten.

Her father, a valiant Gryffindor, headstrong and diving into things headfirst without thinking twice about it, seeking to help in whatever way he deemed best at the moment.

These are the people Vittoria grew up around, who loved and nurtured her as she was educated from home, her father wanting to shelter her from what he believed to be a bit too cruel of a world. His daughter deserved better, he decided, hiring a private tutor for her, knowing it was only a matter of time before she, too, would be at Hogwarts. He and the rest of the family only wanted to spend more time with the baby of the family.

However, Vittoria couldn't be sheltered forever at their seemingly infinite vineyard that stretches into the horizon for kilometers and kilometers.

Growing up, Vittoria and the family often visited her aunts- her mother's sister, pureblood, happily married to a half-blood witch. They lived in Bristol, and had housed her brother, Anthony, for the duration of his education at Hogwarts, happy to do so to allow him the highest possible magical education.

On one of these said visits when Vittoria was nine (a worryingly late bloomer for her parents), she happened to be sleeping on the couch of the main room, all the other rooms occupied. Vittoria had always had trouble sleeping and, her parents, worried for her restfulness, checked in on her.

They found themselves surrounded by the objects of the room- a blanket, floating and forming the vague shape of a tower, family photographs stacking together to make cities, a lamp becoming the sun of the fantasy scene.

It wasn't fear or anxiety or stress that spurred on her magic- it was wonder. Creation. Joy in exploration- in learning.

(Very Positive) Vittoria considers Callida to be her best (and currently only) friend at Hogwarts. They know one another from family, and have been inseparable for years, but unfortunately being in different houses and having different classes has made communication more difficult than ever.
