A Little Homesick PV Alex DiBenedetto Closed

Piper walked steadily up the owlery, clutching a small envelope in her hand.

It wasn't easy to see, but if you got a good look at it, you could read, Elizabeth and Isaac Hargrove, Guiseley, England. It was Piper's first letter home.

Piper had spent hours in her dormitory pondering what to write in her letter. Usually, writing came easily to her, but it hadn't. Finally Piper had written a good-enough letter and placed it in a neat envelope.

When Piper came to Hogwarts, she thought she would be so excited that she'd not even bother to be homesick. But she was obviously wrong. Lately she hadn't been able to sleep, she missed her parents. Homesickness had come easier than she had expected. She hoped writing to her family would help. She had promised to write to her on the platform before she left, so she was supposed to anyway.

Piper kept her head down, eyes on her two feet. She scurried quickly to where the owls were, desperate to hear word from her family. Oh, just thinking about them made Piper want to tear up. Her head was racing, and in her thoughts she completely lost focus and tripped on a loose rock on the floor. She stumbled, catching herself but barley scraping her knees and dropping her letter, causing it to fall out.

"Oh Piper," she groaned, biting her lip as she held in tears that were already there before she tripped.
