Lydia is rather quiet and reserved when she encounters something that she is unfamiliar with. Though she is quick to warm up to people. History
Early Life
Lydia Lecarta Lestat was born to Edward and Gwendolyn Lestat on January 15, 2011, in Canterbury, England. Lydia was a quiet child and spent most of her time in her father's greenhouse, helping out in her family's shop (Lestat's World of Herbs & Potions), or trying to sneak into her mother's potions lab.
When she was three her brother, Leighton Lestat, was born. The siblings grew up in comfort and relative luxury at the Lestat family Estate in Canterbury England.
With the Lestats being an old wizarding family, highly respected in certain circles, the children were taught to behave a certain way in public.
Although her mother was a Muggleborn the Lestats were welcoming and accepting of her blood status into the family.
As she grew up her parents noticed her accidental magic, when she is was four there was an instance of her getting angry when a toy was taken away and having it fly to her. The family was overjoyed
In addition to this, her brother hasn't shown any signs of magic so far, but the family still has hope.

The memorable day Lydia got her Hogwarts letter is a day she will never forget. She is so thrilled to attend this new school, new environment, new experiences. Until the first bout of homesickness settles in these thoughts won't change. She will miss her parents and her younger brother. Although this may be true Hogwarts is something new, and Lydia knows that there are great things ahead.

When Lydia had gotten sorted she knew she wanted to be in Hufflepuff.
When the hat had first sat upon her head it had talked about her brother, how loyal she was to him, how much he meant to her, how she stood up for him, how she protected him. She had determinedly sat there as the sorting hat decided. She could not deny anything that the hat was saying, it could read her mind after all. But then it started to say about how she wanted to discover new potions and ways to use herbology to make new discoveries in the wizarding world. How determined she was to live up to her family, and with a loud voice the hat proclaimed.
