Monday | September 1, 2019 | Late Morning

Lydia gazed up at the train in front of her. This train would take her to a new home. She shifts slightly from foot to foot, glancing around to the various other families and students that are also saying their goodbyes.
"Do you have everything?"Lydia looked over to the voice that spoke, smiling good-naturedly she responded with a simple.
"Yes, Father." Edward Lestat didn't appear to share any resemblance with his daughter, but if you search closely you could see a hint of the same smile or the way their eyes crinkled when they smiled.
"I think you've asked that about twenty times Edward, I'm pretty sure she as everything she needs and maybe even some things she doesn't." This new voice belonged to a slight woman with a rather large afro and mocha skin, there was a young boy hiding behind her robes peeking warily around at the other people. Gwendolyn Lestat was a rather tall imposing woman with an air of haughty indifference. Though her gaze is now softened watching her daughter.
The family giggles together momentarily forgetting the slight sadness ahead. Lydia looked at her family suddenly feeling nervous again.
"What if I don't make it into Hufflepuff, or Slytherin?" Lydia says looking at her parents. She didn't want to let them down.
"Hey, don't worry, we'll be proud of you no matter what house you happen to end in." Her father says bending down to be eye to eye with her.
"Unless its Gryffindor," Her mother says with a sniff. "Ok, come on, time to go." Lydia gives the last round of hugs. lingering on her younger brother Leighton who has come out from in-between their mother's robes.
"Oh, I almost forgot," Her father says reaching into his bag and bringing out a small potted plant. "To remind you of home." He pronounces.
"Thank you." Lydia says tucking the small mint plant under her arm. Before she can start tearing up, she quickly makes her way into the train.
