Slytherin v Gryffindor

The final game of the year for one or even both of these teams: Slytherin and Gryffindor face off. Slytherin has won one match this year against Ravenclaw whereas Gryffindor might have won no games this year, the House might stand in Slytherin's path to victory. Gryffindor is known by some to be the kings of comeback, so while they are the underdogs in this match, there are some hopefuls that feel that Gryffindor might secure a victory for their house and the championship for the year through shear tenacity alone.
It was a warm and sunny Saturday morning. The stadium was filled with Professors, students, proud and concerned parents as well as several fans from Hogsmeade. The air was abuzz with excitement, the chatter of the crowd crescendoed into a roar as the audience cheered for the Slytherin and Gryffindor Quidditch Team. On the Gryffindor Quidditch Team a first year, Rafael D'Spacito took over the role of captain from the former captain Kyle DeRook. This will be the first game he has led, perhaps his leadership will bring victory to his house. His co-captain, second in command is Evelynn Decipio, another first year whose sudden role as a Quidditch player and leader has raised a few brows. There were a few (NPCs) that felt that they were too inexperienced and too young for the role, but there were others that ignored the criticisms of the few and claimed that the duo were likely prodigal. Evelyn serving as a second string Seeker and Rafael as a first string Chaser, it will be exciting to see how their divergent positions and outlooks on the game affect their ability to make calls for their team.
The remaining members of the team include their first string Seeker Lamik Fillestar, a second year Gryffindor who has survived until the end of the season in his position and considered to be a 'tenured' player. Their Keeper was a boy worthy of stares because he looked more like a man than a child or a teen, that was the part-giant Hugh Lowe. Since the events at the Blossom Ball and the Masquerade Ball, giants have been the recipients of mixed opinions. Hugh was one of the young men that saved the dance-goers at the Masquerade Ball, however it is hard for some to see past the boy's size. The second string Keeper is a relative unknown, first year Piérre Marchonné who was making his debut on this day. Their first string beaters Griseldis Edelhardt, a second year and Ariana Walker, a first year were backed up by another first year second string Wren Caster. While young, these ladies could potentially beat down their opponents, hopefully nobody underestimates them. Finally, a quartet of Chasers: on the first string Rafael D'Spacito, Allister-Jameson (AJ) MacAllister, and Charlie Woodward. As for their second string they had Marla Quinlan. Many of these students somewhat new to their roles, the fact that they are relative unknowns might prove to be a boon in this game as they give Slytherin something that they have never seen before.
The second strings would of course be benched after they took a jaunt on their broom around the perimeter of the Quidditch field. The first string players would make their way onto the field.
Slytherin's team would fly out. Again, a bit of controversy involved with the members of this team. First being the Quidditch Captain, Dan Palmer. Dan Palmer had a bit of a violent streak, something that was evidenced at the Masquerade Ball months earlier. An image that some students would likely never get out of their heads. His former co-captain, no longer with the team, was replaced by a pretty young first year Tyranni Whitethorn, an alleged Seer. Making no secret of a vision she had in the Slytherin Common Room, rumors spread. While Tyranni was benched for the game, her captain was the first string Seeker, his dangerous reputation perhaps playing in his favor.
Slytherin consisted of several questionable youths, such as the infamous third year Erin Ryan. However, Slytherin did appear to be putting forth their best face as a number of the members of their team were former or current Prefects. Such as their second string Seeker, third year Edric Banes. Well liked by the ladies (NPCs), several cheered for the young man although that was perhaps because they were encouraged to by his brothers (I remembered your siblings). Guarding the rings as a Keeper was a second year Prefect, Koko Riddle. She was backed up by a first year Slytherin Thora Larkston, while she was rather young for such a dangerous role she had already seen a lot in her short-time at Hogwarts. Every last one of the Chasers was or presently served as a Prefect. Their first string included Alexx Severin, the Editor in Chief of the school paper as well as former Prefect, Nico Shymane, a second year and active Prefect and Ruby Cazares, a second year and active Prefect. On the second string, while never a Prefect they had a well-bred pure-blood that perhaps took the role to sit pretty, Erik Tharaldson. Finally, their first-string Beaters included Erin Ryan and Bridget Collins. Bridget being a second year, rather well-liked young girl that apparently packed a bigger wallop than she looked like she could muster. On the second string was a relative unknown, Roman Kingston.
The crowd would cheer for them as they made their way onto the field. They would make a loop around the perimeter of the field and take their positions. The first strings to the field and the second strings to the benches.
Solomon Lear was no here. At the very least if he was, nobody would see him. This would be the first game of the year that the Headmaster missed. It was a well-kept secret that the Headmaster had been missing since the Masquerade Ball, his present location and status unknown. Despite his absence, the school had been running without a hitch, well no more than usual. The Professors still received their salaries, requisitions were being filed and the school chugged along. Perhaps the Headmaster was not a necessary part of the school after all. Perhaps that or someone was somehow still pulling the strings from the shadows. It did not matter of course, not here in any case. Someone did in fact show to give the opening speech, Lazarus Plott.
The Ilvermorny Headmaster had taken a sabbatical from his role in Ilvermorny for the past several months. His time was spent in London, specifically it was spent with the Ministry of Magic where he discussed something of 'upmost importance.' He had returned to the school this (as well as the other) Quidditch Game.
A long billowing cape in his wake, the wizard would use the Sonorus Charm to command the audience's attention. "Welcome everyone to the Hogwarts Game between Gryffindor and Slytherin. This will surely prove to be an exciting game. Please let me hear it for your favorite team!"
This match will be moderated by @Emma Hill.
In your narration Emma you have permission to Godmode the actions of the NPC: Lazarus Plott. The only characteristic that is necessary to know is he is dramatic, flamboyant and a bit of a ham.
There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Slytherin v Gryffindor
The day was here.
Piérre yanked on his red and gold cloak, emblazoned on the back was a golden number 13, his favorite number. This was the day that the whole team had been waiting for, the day of judgement. They were ready to go and they were going to win. Piérre himself could feel the burn, remnants of him giving more than his all. He had weighed a little over 99 lbs before he was in practice, but by practicing catching, blocking, and redirecting the Quaffle as was part of his second string Keeper position, and now he had dropped four pounds, rounding out at a nice 95 pounds of lean and wiry muscles.
Piérre heard the beginning of the match being announced, and he couldn’t help but poke his head out of the area, looking over the entire auditorium with awe of everything going on. He would listen to Rafa in the background, nodding along if he was giving the team a final lecture, and the second the team broke, Piérre would sprint into the area, waving at everyone. He and even heard his name announced and the poor first year thought he was going to cry with pure joy. This was it! This was it!
He wasn’t going to be playing at first, for that was his more experienced teacher’s job, @Hugh Lowe. Piérre would catch him before he mounted his broom to get to the rings. ”Hey! Good luck out there! I’ll be cheering for you the whole time! Be awesome, okay Mister Hi-lowe?” Piérre lightly jested about the boy’s height. Of course, he was never offensive, but the nickname was too good to pass up, and so Piérre had invented the moniker as a sort of omage.
Piérre also couldn’t help but notice @Koko Riddle as well. Piérre grinned wider, waving excitedly at the beautiful Slytherin girl. ”Good Luck Koko! Do your best!” Piérre shouted across the field, smiling before skipping over the bench and sitting down on it with his school broom laid across his legs. He toyed with a certain crook of it, a sort of mistake in its creation, but it was a sort of comfort to feel the knot of the wood under his fingers.

The young Scotsmen shook his hands spasmodically to try and work off some of the nervous energy that had been building within a burning heat that seemed to flow from his fingers to his palms all the way up to his shoulders. He hopped from foot to foot, trying to keep his movement going. This was to be the new chaser's first-ever match and he worried about looking the fool in front of the cheering crowds. He rolled his shoulders, the emblazoned number '66' creasing with his uniform. He could hear the dull roar of the crowds, just outside, a crowd seeking entertainment. He looked over his school provided broom, splintering wood filled with cracks and a brush missing most of its spines "Entertainun fur shoor" he muttered out loud.
The announcements were being made, it was time for the grand opening. He looked around at his other teammates, giving a nod to the now beater Gris. He made his way closer to the captain. Chasers were a squadron and one weak link could cripple them, plus he didn't exactly want to receive that cold stare that he knew would be coming if he messed this up.
He saw his team move forward, all of them atop their brooms, flying out confidently. He did the same, coming out behind the other two chasers. He wobbled and stalled slightly, but managed to keep pace. The cheering of the crowd was now only dulled by the throbbing sound of blood rushing to ho his head. He took a deep breath and followed the captain round the pitch for their confident opening lap. He was scanning the crowd for any sign of his friend Lark, not sure if he would spot her in the vast crowd.
Gryffindor needed a win, to claw back some dignity after the bad streak they were suffering from and AJ would be damned if he caused his house more shame. He sat upon his broom and eyed the other team, clad in green and looking just as hungry to win. He looked back at his team surrounding him, a small battalion of headstrong reds.
He pumped his fist in the air and let out a good old fashioned Scottish battlecry.
"Gryffindor gu bràth! Valiant and strong!" Hoping his words would in some way inspire his teammates.
Currently standing by and looking as cool as possible, waiting for the carnage to begin.

Lamiks heart was hammering in his chest as he flew out onto the field. His third game- second as the first string seeker, was about to begin, and the boy was very clearly nervous. The day before the match, Lamik had practiced catching the snitch for hours of the evening. Catching and releasing it out onto the pitch over and over again. He had also arrived early today, getting his armor on and his broom before anyone else had even arrived. During the wait for the game to start, Lamik hadn't spoken a word to his team mates, instead looking out into the field with a tight grimace for most of the time.
Now, flying high above the ground, with members of a crowd cheering for their favorite teams and their favorite players, Lamik knew it was tome to focus. He had a game to play, a game to win. He had to prove to himself that he could. Waving weakly at the crowd for a little bit before letting his hand rest against his broom, Lamik flew into position, forcing all thoughts other then the game out of his head.

Nerves. Bridget was a mess of nerves. Last game, she'd let a teammate fall while she'd done nothing. Nothing. It wouldn't happen this time, though. Between every practice, every additional moment spent training on her own, and the new Nimbus 1700 held firmly in hand, she was as ready as she would ever be.
Besides, this was her third game and she was starting to get into somewhat of a rhythm. It had taken her significantly less time to strap on her leather armor. Of course, that had just left her with more time with nothing to do but listen to Dan and worry about the rapidly approaching start of match. The match that would determine if they had a chance at the Quidditch Cup.
Finally, it was time to take the field. Emerging from the locker room, Bridget had to shield her eyes from the bright sun. It was tempting to hold her hands over her ears, too, to try and block out the deafening roar of the crowd, but it was pointless; sooner or later she'd have to deal with it. Best to get used to it, to imagine all those voices as just noise and not hundreds of eyes watching her.
"Good luck," she said to @Thora Larkston. Even if Thora was a second string, there was a chance she would have to play. Koko was an amazing Keeper, after all, so she was bound to be a target. Either way, Thora was her best friend, and wishing her luck was natural.
Mounting her Nimbus 1700, Bridget couldn't stop herself from smiling a bit. Despite the nerves that had prevented her from eating breakfast, she was proud. Proud she owned the broom, even if it was far from the best one on the pitch. Proud to be part of her team. They were not going to lose to Gryffindor. The snakes were going to win--Bridget would make sure of it.

@Koko Riddle | @Bridget Collins
Okay, so now there was truly something to be excited for. Quidditch. Nothing beat the feeling of air blowing into her face, teasing strands of hair out of the messy braid Thora'd twisted on her way down to the Pitch. It was a welcome distraction and wake-up call to everything the school--and Slytherin in particular, ever since the midnight spider assault, so despite the unescapable dark shadows that seemed to be forever trapped in her head, she was happy. And just a bit nervous.
Honestly, Thora had no idea why she was nervous. As second string, she probably wouldn't even have to play, based on the quick Snitch catches in all of the year's past matches. Besides, the first string keeper was Koko, who had yet to allow an opponent goal on a Nimbus 1700 and was now riding a Silver Arrow. And, after all, Thora had been practicing in the position for practically the entire year. Simply put, in theory, she was ready to play, if needed.
So, shoulders squared, she entered the pitch to an appreciable crowd in the stands--considerably larger than last game, probably due to the slightly warmer weather--along with her teammates. Slytherin had a pretty solid team, in Thora's opinion. They'd had only a couple roster changes throughout the entire season, and even though they had won only one of their two matches, they worked together almost seamlessly. Bridget had a Nimbus now, too, and Ruby, the team's top scorer the previous year, was moved up to first string. And as for the rest of the team, they all had loads of talent and certainly had proved it as Thora had carefully observed a lot of them to hone her own skills.
"Thanks, you too!" she answered brightly as Bridget wished her good luck despite the fact that she was merely a second string. "Good luck, Koko," Thora darted around her teammates to offer her first-string counterpart a high-five. "You got this, Slytherin!" Thora called as she turned towards the benches, leaving the first strings to mount their brooms and take to the sky.
This match would have to be one of strategy--even more so than the past ones. This would be everyone's last game of the year's season, the one that decided the team that would take the Quidditch Cup and a year of bragging rights. The sneks could win this. They needed to win this.

Slytherin v Gryffindor

The day had finally come.
Rafael would be a liar if he were to say he weren’t subtlely nervous – on the contrary, he’d found that his hands had been rather clammy for a while now, his stomach in an inward state of turmoil. He’d been like this for the last few agonizing days – stressing, that is, as disheartening and humiliating as it was to admit. Such a game had plagued his thoughts, following him everywhere he dared tread like an ominous storm cloud, messing with the boy’s train of thought and sleep schedule more often than not. And, could you blame the boy? His anxieties were certainly not unfounded. After all, it was an unspoken fact that there was a lot riding on this particular game.
The Gryffindor Team had been tossed around all season, trampled upon by the multitude of other houses. The Lion House’s Quidditch reputation, therefore, had been rather tarnished by the scoreboards, something that made the young Gryffindor sick all in itself. The team, while they had strongly proven their grit and will, had been bested simply by early snitch catches – which was not in the least the team seeker’s fault, as luck had been working against the lions from the beginning. Not that the young Gryffindor believed in omens. It just seemed as if luck liked to mess with the team more times than not.
There had also been a great cleansing of the Gryffindor ranks in the recent months – the second major roster change in a year – leaving the team full of wild cards that could be just as disastrous as they were unpredictable. Which wasn’t completely a disadvantage, he supposed. There was little advantage in having new people in their ranks, as no one knew what such players were capable of. Hell, he wasn’t even that sure what some of them were capable of. It was comforting, knowing that the team had an ace up their sleeve. Though, a wild card was a double-edged sword – a seemingly brilliant player could have just fluked on tryouts, dooming the team to a humiliating game. He was rather reluctant in that regard, wary of the dangers of his new team members.
And, the cherry on top of the disaster-odds. It was an unspoken fact that there would be a lot of eyes on the new leadership for the Gryffindor Team – that is, himself and Evelynn. And while attention in and of itself wasn’t a bad thing in the boy’s opinion, he knew well that people would be watching with more ravenous intent. He couldn’t help but wonder himself whether two first years could hold their own against older, more mature and tenured team captains. It went unsaid that the both of them would have something to prove, a thought that put tension in the boy’s shoulders. Their start would have to be a good one – otherwise, all their future successes would be shadowed by an epic loss.
However, anyone who had laid eyes on the boy in recent days would not have been able to tell his true feelings on the matter – on the contrary, the anxiousness had driven him to practice harder, push himself to be better before the cursed game. God forbid his own nervous impulses get in the way of his playing, he’d thought, during a particularly harrowing Transfigurations class. No, on the contrary, the boy had risen early in the recent mornings, deciding to dedicate his early hours to sharpening his reflexes and Quaffle-intercepting skills. He knew better than most that, even if you couldn’t play someone else’s game, you could play your own to the best of your ability. And he would choose to represent his team as strongly as possible, giving no one watching the game any reason to doubt his resolve as a captain.
[That, and he’d had a vendetta with the snakes.]
It was no surprise that, standing at the entrance to the magnificent playing field, the crowd’s cheering reverberating off the walls of the pitch, the light pouring into his eyes as his feet dug into the bright green grass, the boy felt a rush of nervous energy shoot through his being like a bullet. It was seemingly a bright day, good conditions for flying, he absently noticed, the sun specking the skies lightly and painting the grounds in a warm, golden glow. The air was warm too, just enough to keep the young boy comfortable in his uniform – this would surely change, however, as the game progressed, as body temperature seemed to rise when one was exercising. No matter, however, because discomfort had never stopped him before. However, the thought caused the boy’s mind to wander for a short moment, as he pondered whether or not his teammates shared his sympathies. Hopefully so. If the season alluded to anything about the upcoming game, it wouldn’t be an easy fight.
Push the roaring masses out of his mind for the time being, the boy focused on the benches, his feet carrying him over towards the place in which most of his team resided. Upon arriving at the scene, he spoke the first words that came to his mind. “Get it together, Gryffindor!” his voice sounded above the racket, strong and solemn. “We’ve had a few rough games, but this time we have something we didn’t have before – wild cards. I know this team is capable of winning; every single one of you are excellent players, and I know you all have the skills to overcome this team. I have faith in all of you. Now, it’s time to make our house proud! GAME FACES, EVERYONE! LET’S HUSTLE!”
[Perhaps the luck of the lions would change today, he thought wryly. It had better. Because Lady Luck was a friend he’d certainly want on his side today.]
Nodding in the direction of his teammates, the boy turned, his feet steadily carrying him towards the playing field. The noise of the amassed crowd seemed to echo off the walls of his head as he boarded his broom, his eyes brazen with the competitive fire they always held before a game. He quickly got into position, his fingers gripping the handle of his broom with renewed fervor. Steeling his focus, his teeth grating against each other in anticipation, he leaned forward, the rest of the world slipping away, out of his mind. All that mattered now was the Quaffle.

Slytherin v Gryffindor
Potentially the final game of the year for Slytherin unless they take out Gryffindor. Some of the players cared more about winning than others on her team. Erin for one did not give a rat's... tail? Yes, a rat's tail about winning as long as their Keeper was taken down a notch. Yes, the only reason Erin was in this game was because she wanted to take out Hugh Lowe, the part giant whose form alone blocked more than its fair share of the ring. He probably would have made for a terrifying beater like Healy for Hufflepuff, a part of her was thankful that he took on a more defensive role. Not to say that she was not curious, that she was uninterested in the challenge.
Hugh Lowe was responsible for her part giant fixation. He as one of the Prefects that she had originally sought out for help. She did not presume because he was big that he was violent or dangerous, but she thought he was capable of helping her find her missing friend. There was of course a festering paranoia, even back then. This belief that there was something terrible going on at this school at that the Professors and Prefects were somehow complicit. When she reached out to him, her concerns were not only ignored but he went on an incredibly random tangent that poorly distracted her from her initial point.
It was one of the very few times she felt natural fear.
She wanted to test her mettle against the part-giant. He was big and he was strong, while she might not have his size or his weight to her advantage she was also incredibly strong. She wanted to take him out.
Her long purple hair was pulled back from her face in a tight ponytail. An unruly fringe of hair partially hid her eyes. Her jade colored eyes would scan the field, he would not be hard to find. "Danny," did he like to be called Danny? She did not even ask, she just assumed. "I want the big one," she was referring to the part giant without making any attempt to hide her intentions. "What do you say?" She asked as she increased her speed on her broomstick and zipped onto the field. She hoped for no response or an agreement. Like a pit bull on a chain, she would wait until she was given the word to attack she would tense her form as she watched the Headmaster... of Ilvermorny? The Headmaster of Ilvermorny start the game.

Slytherin v Gryffindor
Hugh had been grateful for Kyle's attempt in getting him a uniform in the right size. But with the speed he kept growing, there was just no point in trying to keep the same armour on. The number ten was now starting to stretch over his back and with a closer look, anyone could tell at one point it already had ripped open once. He had to go an ask for yet another retailoring of the leather pads and to avoid anymore fiddling with his outfit, he had decided to simply roll up his sleeves. The cap didn't fit for a while now, so he was at the moment just fumbling with it in his hands as he tried to loosen up the straps some more.
Now they had a new captain, co-captain too. They both seemed up for the task, though Hugh would be the last to admit it. There was a fierce loyalty to the team he felt, being the only group to actually had use of something he had plenty: His size. While Kyle and he (nor anyone else on the team for that matter) hadn't been particularly close, the tall scott still felt any boy or girl had to prove themselves in game first. This would be the match to see where they were at. Looking over his teammates, he realized there had been quite a few shifts. At least the ever-excited Bunbuns (Gris) was still up on her broom and he wasn't sure if the Snitchmagnet (Lamik) was looking to repeat his move from when they played against the pigeons. But he sure was glad they still were around, not that it would cause him to smile at them for once.
Standing in line, ready for take-off, the big smile kid, @Piérre Marchonné, came up to him. Giving him the cheerio's and best of luck. The part-giant had to hold himself from pushing the kid aside. It was a funny thing to say for the #13 of the team, coming from the most infamous known number that stood for bad luck. "Listen up Friday. You better not bring that number's dice to this game or I will personally tear off that little memento from your back, you hear me." He couldn't help but grumble as he thought about how they had lost last time. As soon as the other boy would make his leave, Hugh would call out to him.
"Hey Friday!" For the first time in a while he smirked again like old times. "If I go down..." He looked over to Erin on the field, before tossing the other kid his leather cap. "I'll need you to be bigger than any bloody giant." He nodded to his fellow teammate as if to check they had an undrstanding. "Guard those hoops with your life. I know you can do this."
With that final note, the part-giant leapt off into the air with his hands clenched on his broom. Diving in a straight line towards his goalpost and floating, ready for action. This giant had no time for theatrics.

He couldn't help but grumble as he thought about how they had lost last time.

Slytherin v Gryffindor
This was the final Quidditch game for this year and their last rival was up against the cunning Slytherin team. It wouldn't be easy for sure and in the last two games, things were really rough for the Gryffindor team. But this time, the team has been reborn with a few new additions. Stepping out on the field, Griseldis could hear the loud exciting cheers all around her and the warmth from the sun on her skin. She knew her friends will be there cheering on either the Gryffindor or the Slytherin. Ruthie and Alan would be 100% cheering for her and her team, and since Ruthie asked to give her something related to Gryffindor so she gave Ruthie her Gryffindor scarf instead.
For some reason, she had a feeling that this time it would be different, she just knew it. When their new captain gave his strong speech to his team. It made her feel confident and hopeful. There was trust and pride in his tone. Different than their former captain, she also sensed calmness and positivity. Before getting on to her broom, she looked at her teammates around her. Griseldis really didn't expect AJ, the first-year Scottish boy she met at the courtyard would become the new Chaser of the team, same with Charlie, a friend of Ruthie. Speaking of Chaser, Griseldis was no longer a Chaser. Now, the lioness was the first-string Beater, it felt like she was honoring Kyle's role to be one but at the same time, she wanted to be a solid Beater who would stay this role for the longest term and giving all her strength to the Gryffindor team. Then there was another new Beater named Ariana, a first-year but never judge a book by its cover, the young girl might surprise people with her own strength soon. Then looking up beside her was their one and only giant, Hugh, their one and the only keeper who would protect their goal. Looking at the other side was their first-string seeker, Lamik. He seemed to be quite disappointed with himself still due to what happened from the last game, she hoped he would overcome it and try to focus on the present. Griseldis silently prayed that luck could be on their seeker this time.
Griseldis held firmly onto her new broom, Silver Arrow, yes, a Silver Arrow. It took her months of hard work to save up a lot of money just to get a much better broom than the Nimbus 1700. She flew up in the air to meet up with the others, her pastel grey eyes staring at the target with determination.
