Shade hadnt meant to get this excited. She'd been looking forward to this day for her entire life but to finally be there, in this moment, was enough to make her heart race at a million miles an hour.  Her parents had said their goodbyes just before the station and she'd run off to explore the station. She had never had so few words to describe how she was feeling about the entire thing, watching her older brothers hurry off to meet with their friends, she suddenly felt a weird pit of loneliness appear in her belly. She'd never had many friends in her life but she'd always had her brothers to fall back on yet now they where gone, off with their own groups to talk about what they'd been up too on the holidays.

With a little huff she found herself an empty bench and sat her bags down before digging through one of them to pull out a small journal. She took another look around before she sat down and began to quietly sketch away at the blank page. Shade wasnt going to deny her excitement, the butterflies in her tummy even made her feel slightly nauseous as she shuffled on the hard bench. She kept reminding herself that this was going to be a good year, that everything was going to work out and she would be fine. A little smile graced her features as she brought one of her legs up to cross over the other, this was the start of a whole new exciting, magical life, and she couldnt wait to get started.

Luna stood there awkwardly, her cloak clinging to her body and swaying slightly in the wind as she stood on the platform, it wasn't quite time to board the train and she had no idea where she was going to sit, thinking about it made her feel sick to her stomach with anxiety, what if no one lets her sit with them? what if she says something to embarrass herself? what if she stood there and couldn't say a thing at all? oh god. Luna ran her hand through her hair in frustration as she worked herself up about the whole situation, she was so excited about everything and couldn't wait to get here, her parents gave her so much encouragement but without them behind her she had time to really think about things, she had no social skills, what. so. ever.

Whilst she was having her little mental breakdown, out of the corner of her eye she saw a girl sitting on a bench by herself, drawing on a sketch pad. She was alone, just like Luna was, she looked young as well, maybe she was a first year too? Luna took a deep breath 'if you cant do it now you will never do it' she said to herself before walking over, pulling her heavy trunk beside her "Luna...." she blurted whilst standing infront of the young girl, " I mean, Hello, My name is Luna." She finally got out, she stood there flustered with a pink tint to her cheeks.

Shade had been in her own little world while sketching that she was honestly kind of startled when she heard the girls voice and nearly dropped her sketchbook onto the ground. After a moment she was able to relax herself and look towards the girl who'd spoken. Almost instantly her expression brightened and she snapped the book closed with a soft thud, and instantly jumped up to stand infront of Luna.

Her hand shot out to catch Luna's before she gave it a firm shake "It's lovely to meet you Luna! I'm Shade!" She couldnt keep the excited grin off her face, her first friend from hogwarts! She shook her hand for a few long seconds before she let go and moved to stuff her sketch pad back into her bag. When she turned back to face her, she noticed that the girl didnt have any kind of colours on her robes like her brothers did and tilted her head to push her long, deep brown hair aside "Are you a first year too?" She asked as softly as possible. She didnt want to make her any more nervous then she already was, but she was so excited to have a new possible friend that she couldnt help the grin.

Luna was taken back a little as the girl grabbed her hand, but soon she settled and shook it back. She watched the girl scramble to tuck away her sketch book, this gave Luna a chance to take in how pretty this girl was, with big hazel eyes and long brown hair as long as hers, she was long and lanky for her age and she knew that when the girl stood up she wouldn't be taller then her, but she didn't mind at all! Luna pulled her robe around her a little tighter as the wind from the train rushed past them, When Luna spoke she raised her voice a little to make sure she could be heard over the trains loud rumble.

" Yeah I am, I am so excited, To be here and start new" She said with a huge grin on her face.
"What were you drawing?" She asked as she looked down at the girls bag and the sketch pad that was half hanging out. this girl had so much positive energy that Luna couldn't keep the smile off of her face, her first friend, at least she wouldn't have to sit alone on the train!

Shade smiled at her excitedly and tucked her hands into her pockets "Me too! My brothers are always talking about the school so im super excited to be here! I cant wait to see what house i get sorted into!" She said with a giggle before she realised the girl mentioned her drawings. For a moment she felt nervous and swallowed before pushing a piece of hair behind her ear "Flowers"

She reached over to grab the notepad and flipped to the page to show her, each page she flipped past had a new sketch or drawing, some incomplete and others beautifully coloured and completed. The drawing she showed her was just a rough sketch but it was already rather nice, a little bundle of sunflowers sketched onto the page with a light grey tinted pencil. "My mum really loves sunflowers so they where always in my house. I got really good at drawing them" She laughed a little, seeming just a little nervous about the situation. She flipped to another drawing of sunflowers which was fully lined and coloured, it was a single sunflower in a bright red vase, she was pretty talented for a girl of her age.

"Brothers? That's awesome! I come from an only family so please excuse me if i'm a little awkward." She said shyly, twiddling her fingers together. After that she had brought out her sketch book with some beautiful flowers drawn on them, Luna inspected the drawings that had lots of detail in them.

"They're beautiful, truly, I wish I could draw, the only talent I have is finishing a book in one day, that might help with studying I guess. " She said, hoping she didnt sound like to much of a nerd and all of a sudden got lost for words, she stayed silent for a moment before starting up more conversation.

"So did you want to sit together on the train together? I was so worried about where I would sit and who i would sit with, or if anyone would let me sit with them.." She went on muttering words as her nerves began to get ahold of her again. She thought reading up on muggle behaviour would have prepared her for the moment she finally got to make a friend, or friends even but now she was afraid she had ruined all chances. This girl seemed sweet though and Luna really wanted to make it work.
