Appearance

Often viewed as extra, flamboyant and very different from the norm, Euphaustus is considered unusual and strange - however, even though some might consider these traits as flaws, he personally doesn’t mind nor bothers about the words whispered behind his back, and takes pride in being uniquely himself.

Weird characteristics in his appearance include his frizzly, messy black hair, long thin legs, clothes that are not ever seen or worn by other wizards (or witches for that matter), painted nails, and light black-eyeshadow make up that makes him look like a ghoul, which, to be frankly honest, is his prime intention.

Although black might be his favourite and primary colour to go to for reasons, the wizard likes to coat himself in turquoise, shades of purple and indigo, blue, brown, green and sometimes, whenever the mood calls for it, yellow.

Euphaustus' appearance does not match his personality most of the time. Others around him might assume that he's a bit of a loner or possibly even cunning to their liking, however, he's really kind to those that respect him. It doesn't take much, really. Considering he went through some socially discriminating phases in his life due to his looks and interests, the boy only hopes to not hand out the same impression at everyone he meets. - "Hey! Good to know I'm not the only one who has to come up with imaginary friends around here!"

Once he gets comfortable with someone and knows that there are no limits to the possible, and hopefully endless conversations, the barriers start coming down. The boy will crack all sorts of jokes, will start quoting random sayings, possibly even terrify those around him with his wild and crazy ideas. Probably something along the lines of disturbing the supernatural - "I'm bored. Who wants to do some ghost hunting?"

The barriers burn to dust - fragility is a flaw but Euphaustus' wears it differently. Keeping mostly everything to himself is not the healthiest method. He often thinks that talking to others about personal details is an obnoxious way to act selfish and make others feel bad of you. But if somebody else feels horrible, guess whose ears would be ready to hear out anyone about anything? Yep. In other words, he's sensitive, avoid touching. - "No, I'm absolutely fine." - Euphaustus after a crying session with Moaning Myrtle.

Enemies are not his favourite kind of people, but he's pretty certain that at one point or another, they have to be made. Not that he minds, considering that the people he dislikes will be a method of enjoyment and will come in handy. He likes to deal with them by coming up with several pranks, some of which are detention-worth.

Background Story

Birth:

Born on the fourth of December in England is pretty much the equivalent of "being born on a very cold and rainy day." The clouds were at their darkest, the atmosphere was strange, but the love shared between the two parents expecting a child, only a few minutes away from receiving their best gift, held on together until the very end. There was no denying that Euphaustus' parents were everything but normal. From their crazy aesthetic to the way they talked, looked and did things. It was only obvious that their son was going to be the same in every way possible. The household itself was small, with no relatives from the mother's side, and the father's being an honourable, pureblood family, staying out of the picture whenever muggles were involved, meant that a new fresh start awaited the family. Until things went downhill soon after the boy's birth. Nina, Euphaustus' mother was quite unusual. See, she was a muggle, and her relationship with her partner, who was a Pure-blood wizard had arose ideas out of this world. She wanted to become a witch and possess the same traits her partner did. Even after she had given birth, the woman continued aspiring to achieve her dream. There was no hope to cure her of this obsession, and regretfully, Vermilius, his father, left before Euphaustus learned to say the word 'Papa.'

Childhood:

Just like most muggles, Euphaustus' childhood was just plain boring. The only exciting events that took place during this period of his life were whenever he either got a chance to help out his mother with her job or the little endeavours he got himself in due to his magical abilities which were unknown to him at the time. His father was already out of the picture due to his fragile relationship with Nina. This particular phase was really weird, not only was Euphaustus being given information that led to no conclusions from his mother, but was also experiencing supernatural activities. From being told that centaurs were real, to magic being a part of him, the boy lacked understanding in the matter. He didn't know whether his mother was actually saying the truth or she was just going crazy.

Hogwarts Letter:

Turns out, his mother was partially right. It was August when a strange being had told the two of their life-changing experience. Nina wasn't entirely surprised, seeing as this was something she had hoped for ever since Euphaustus was brought into the world. But the boy was rather shaken. Of course, he was more than excited to leave the rathole his life was stuck in and begin a new adventure that would take him to far better places. Without hesitation from either sides, the parent agreed to give her child the education needed and begin his journey as a wizard. as simple as this event might sound, Euphaustus felt like he had been in the same situation before, lived it, and agreed to it.
