A moment of rest.
Kayden came to the courtyard quite often, he realized. Often to think, and sometimes to get a break from the other students. Kayden had made a few friends, which wasn't bad for only two weeks. Wnd then he had met Sage. He had not been expecting to find feelings upon coming to Hogwarts. Then he had Willow Anderson, who he had been in short contact with. Then there was Kevin O'Reilly and Jade Evening, the students he had met on the Hogwarts express.
He enjoyed few things more than watching the other students talk in their circles, but sometimes he wished he had a group. They were a bit cliche, but it seemed like a cool concept, having a crew. No matter. He thought. He had few select friends, which was enough he guessed. It was odd, he had expected that being upon his own people when he came to Hogwarts, he would find lots of friends. This seemed to not be the case however, as he was still such a misfit here as he was in muggle schooling.
He was renowned for me thing, however, the extreme raw power of his spells. He couldn't aim worth a damn, but he had the power down. Scanning the courtyard, he looked for possible people to speak too.

A moment of rest.
If there was one thing Euphaustus lacked was friends. Everything up till now had aligned perfectly with the matter of relationships and building long-lasting friendships; the sorting, his ambitions, ending up in Hufflepuff. It made perfect sense. Back during his days as a muggle, the curlyhead was most of the time pushed away - the reasoning behind this was unknown to him, but any stranger would probably reconsider allying themselves with the Hufflepuff given his odd, dark aura. The way he appeared wasn’t considered normal. Although he was aware of this, there was no intention to change for anyone.
Back to when he had got on the train to Hogwarts, a few acquaintances were made, however, unluckily, he ended up being separated from them due to the sorting hat putting the others in different Houses. This didn’t mean he couldn’t see them, but they seemed to not share the same interest because… well, ever since, they hadn’t approached him once. This made him a bit sad - finding it difficult to approach anyone else while at it - hence the disconnection with people in general. However, the sun shined bright on the pale-skinned boy as he made his way towards the highly-populated courtyard. Were most students decided to chill off whenever they had some free time.
It was the place were meeting others was relatively easy, or so had Euphaustus hoped, for his sole intention was to find fellow first years. Be it in groups or alone, the boy didn’t mind. It was precisely then when he had spotted a familiar face. And by familiar, quite literally someone he might have - or might have not - seen around. Could have been a class of some sort, or maybe even during the sorting? Either way, he sought this out as a perfect opportunity. Taking a few breaths in to look totally normal, he walked towards him at a slow pace, taking all the time in the world.
He felt his heart getting pinched seeing somebody else alone - funny considering he was in the same shoes.
“Hey!” he first introduced himself, his voice louder than the norm, probably grabbing hold the attention of more than just one student. “Are you all alone out here too? Good to know I’m not the only one who has to make up imaginary friends!” That probably wasn’t the best introduction ever, but it was a start… hopefully… right?”
“I’m Euphaustus.”
