The Girl in the Library
Shae sat in the library, reading. She studied for class, biting her lip and looking up every little bit. She seemed as if she was waiting for someone, when, in fact, she wasn't. It was just a habit of hers to look around like that. Having always been shy, she spent a lot of time reading and hanging out in libraries. Her habit of seeming like she was waiting for someone also came with her being shy. She did this for a couple of reasons. First, she liked knowing who was around, so that she couldn't be startled. Second, if she seemed like she was waiting for someone, then maybe people wouldn't bother her. Not that she minded people talking to her, she just didn't know how to talk to people and didn't know how to start a conversation. She tapped on the table next to her while she read and thought. Soon, she put one book away and pulled out another. She continued her tapping and began reading the new book. After some time, the tapping stopped. She held her hands in her lap and fidgeted with her fingers. Shae was a fidgety person. She never knew how to keep still to do anything.

The Girl in the Library
Cyprian was frankly quite lost. He had lots of work to catch up on, and he didn't know where to begin. Of course, the library seemed like a good option. However, he hadn't been able to focus enough to complete anything.
The best way to be able to efficiently complete this homework would be to study with someone, but Cyprian still hadn't made any friends. He had to find someone to connect with eventually. Might as well start now.
He glanced around the library taking in the other students. Unfortunately, most students seemed to be within their tight friend groups. Eventually, his eyes were brought to a girl who looked to also be a first-year. She was studying alone, and every once in awhile, shyly looking up. At first, he thought she was looking for something, but it became evident that she was simply nervous. She seemed like someone he would like to make friends with.
He made his way over, making sure not to surprise her. "Hello?" he inquired, "I'm Cyprian, a first-year in Slytherin. Who are you?" He tried to sound polite and welcoming. He didn't want to scare off the shy girl. He smiled at her too, putting his hands behind his back.

The Girl in the Library
When she heard someone next to her, and talking to her, Shae looked up, startled. "Oh, uh, hi. I'm Shae. A first year in Ravenclaw." She bit her lip. "It's probably a good thing because blue is my favorite color." She blinked. "Like my eyes." She noticed the boy smiling and smiled back. "I'm sorry. I tend to babble when I get nervous." She shrugged her shoulders. "Usually it only happens when someone kind of forces me to talk, like asking me who I am." She looked him in the eyes, but didn't stop speaking. "That's an odd question. Who am I? Like I said, I'm Shae, I'm from Ireland. I have a sister. and I babble when I'm nervous. I mean I could go on but I should probably shut up now, huh?" She looked down at her book for a moment, before looking up again. She had spoken a little too fast and her words seemed to all come out in a single instant. "I'm sorry. This is why I tend to keep to myself. Sometimes, but not always, I tend to get nervous and talk too much and I scare people off." She looked at him. "Start over?" She asked, smiling.
