When: late morning
The time had finally come. Evelynn had stopped by the Bulletin Board in the common room as she did every morning, checking for updates, errands or other news and notices, when she finally saw it. The thing she had been waiting for since she had first learned about it in Diagon Alley, since she had first come to the school and had her first flying lesson, since she had witnessed the first game of the season first hand.

The Gryffindor Quidditch Team was recruiting.

Admittedly, the position available wasn't one that Evelynn had sought to fill. Far from it, in fact. As lithe and keen of eye and wit as the young Gryffindor was, she had envisioned herself a seeker. That would have played to her strengths and given her the thrill of speed she had grown to crave with her timed equestrian sports. Even a chaser or a keeper might not have been out of the question. But none of those were available. The position that was, was the beater position.

Evelynn had considered leaving it be. She wasn't large. Neither was she particularly gifted with strength. She wasn't stocky or aggressive. In fact, she had very few traits that many would generally associate with that position. To think that she would try out to play as a beater was almost inconceivable, even for her. But whenever she watched her team play, she felt a churning in the pit of her stomach, a burning desire to fly among them. Perhaps it was because of her years riding, but she had taken exceptionally well to flight and it gave her a thrill that even her horse couldn't provide. And how she longed for the opportunity to rejoin the world of competition.

Thus, after several minutes of contemplation, she made the selfish decision that she would try out for the position. For the thrill, for the contest, for the sense of accomplishment, for the glory. Just as quickly, she decided that she would require some help if she was to have that hope fulfilled. Where she lacked in sheer power and raw talent, she would have to make up with practice and refined skill. And she knew exactly who to ask for aid.

Later that morning after a hearty breakfast and a decent progression on homework, Evelynn found herself standing outside of the office of the one individual she thought might best be able to help her. The redhead still thought it was incredibly valuable that the school had somehow managed to secure the tenure of an ex-pro Quidditch player. That would be like Evelynn saying she was able to be tutored in show-jumping by none other than Eric Lamaze. Not to mention, this professor hadn't just played on a pro Quidditch team, she had held the position of beater. Plus, she was someone with whom Evelynn already had at least something of a rapport.

Knockknock.

Evelynn rapped her knuckles against the door to the office in quick succession before dropping her hand to the handle. For a moment, she hesitated, wondering if the professor was even available on a Sunday morning, or if she was being an intrusive bother to inquire. But…the redhead was here to request help, right? To acknowledge that the professor was a superior athlete and the best individual on campus aid. Surely that would play to the professor's obvious vanity, no?

"Professor?" Evelynn called tentatively through the door as delicate fingers attempted the handle. "It's Evelynn Decipio. Are you available?"[/color

Sunday morning was her day to sleep in, though that could be said about any day. Olphie believed in the magical powers of "beauty sleep," and it showed by the fact that there were no bags under her eyes to directly contrast the vibrant hues of her eyeshadow choices. Sundays in particular, though, she did not dare to set an alarm, for she had no matches to referee, no lessons to be taught, and if she was lucky, a hangover to nurse.

Today was one of those lucky days, for she had spent the previous evening catching up with an old friend at the pub in Hogsmeade. The duo had drank firewhiskey as though it were water, laughing about the good old days at Hogwarts, where they had been peers together. Olphie had gone to bed feeling satisfied, a warm feeling in direct contrast to the gloom that winter was at Hogwarts. And now, here she was, cozied up in her bed, eyes closed, nothing to do...

Knockknock.

Had that been reality? Just five more minutes. No - her eyes burst open. That knock could only mean two things: a colleague or a student. Either one could not wait, even if Sunday was her rest day.

Taking that notion to heart, Olphie bolted upright and slipped on a plush pink robe over her pajamas, finally tying her hair up in a messy bun so as to look presentable. Her makeup was smudged from the night before, mascara running ever so slightly, but she would only look slightly disheveled given the fact that she had been fast asleep only a few minutes prior.

The door had been locked, but Olphie heard the call as delicate hands tried the door. Everly Deception certainly could not wait any longer, and though her breath would certainly posess a rancid cinnamon-wheat air, Olphie opened the door, foregoing brushing her teeth to ensure that the girl did not wait any longer. With a grin, she breathed her words heavily: "Of course dear! Sorry, a bit early, but I will always make time for students. You had a question? Come in, come in."

Her bed was unmade, but luckily she had tidied the day previously, so it was not a complete disaster. As she turned her body to walk in, she asked, "Tea, dear?"

Olphie began rummaging for a caffenated one in her large collection as she awaited the answer. She would have to make up for the fact that she was unable to sleep in, though the girl would hopefully make the foregone sleep worth her while.
