Mooncalves, Stairwells & Magic

Dear mum, dad and Olivia,
I hope you are all doing well. Are the baby mooncalves still acting up or have they learned some manners now?
I hope you don't have to fix the fence everyday. Some day I'll learn to keep the Hodags out with magic and it will be much easier.
I've had a swamped first day at Hogwarts. It's been wonderful so far. Hogwarts is massive! It will take me a while to memorize where all my classes are. Also! Dad! You could have warned me about the moving stairwells! Those are seriously dangerous if you're unaware they change. I suppose it was a sort of ceremony to prank the new student...
I know you are all in suspense to hear which house I was sorted into. Well let me tell you. I had no idea there was a talking hat, and definitely no idea that it was going to sort me in a house..
When The Sorting Hat was on my head it first said I was witty and I would perhaps fit in SLYTHERIN! But apparently he wasn't convinced of my leadership skills. So he went on about courage, loyalty and sympathy. Fairness and virtue.. So I got... HUFFLEPUFF!
I'm so excited that I actually got into Hufflepuff! Today I have a free day to explore the castle and the grounds a bit. It's pretty chilly here so I might have to find my winter cloak. Be sure to give a big hug to Olivia for me! The whole family too!
