It had been almost 3 months since Gem and Brielle had broken up, leaving her with questions that she hoped could be answered. She knew the relationship went a bit fast, and that was a mistake she just had to learn when it came to those types of things. Was it embarrassing? Yes, without a doubt. Though perhaps being a 12 year old in a relationship won't result in the most rational of ideas. She wanted to have fun, she wanted to experiment, and she came to a conclusion. They take time.

Brielle hadn't been in the library for any particular reason, mostly just to get some books on transfiguration. Although the dating scheme didn't work out with her and Gem, they still quite successfully remained to be friends. They had made plans to have Gem help her study with Transfiguration, so she figured it wouldn't hurt to pick up some material on the subject.

While searching the shelves, she also picked up a book on Charms on her way back to her table. She flipped open a page of the textbook quickly and read a portion on the spell Lumos. Being familiar with the spell, she shrugged her shoulders and picked up her wand delicately, repeating the spell softly. Though rather than a bright light emitting from the tip of her wand, it remained dull and unfazed.

"What the-?" Brielle frowned at her failure and looked back at the page. What had she been doing wrong? The incantation? She had done it correctly in class, so why was it so difficult for her now?

With a shake of her head, Brielle frowned and set her head on the table, letting out an aggravated sigh.

The Scottish winters were bitter. At this time of month, the snow should have long melted, but Scotland was known for its unpredictable weather and Aurelia’s hopes for the entrance of the warmer season was thrown down by the fall of yet more relentless snow. Asides from the absence of chilly winds, the library had not provided much warmth either.

However, if she wished to see an Outstanding grade on her history of magic homework that demanded heavy research, the third year would have to pull through the bitter temperature. After a couple of minutes of searching through the shelves, Aurelia now heaved a pile of books in her arms. Finding a desk, she would began to flip the first book on with her cursed cold hands. Aurelia was cursed with hands that fingertips were always frigid. It did not make it any easier to turn the thin pages of the books.

It had been thirty minutes and Aurleia was only have way through the essay. Staring at the content of the books was causing a tense persistent feeling to grow at the back of her head, a headache, possibly due to straining her eyes or too much thinking. The cold tips of her fingers wandered up to rub the temples on the side of her head. It was evident that she needed a break and to possibly give her eyes a rest.

What the-” Aurelia turned her head to the voice to the sight of a girl, quite a pretty one in fact. Despite her frowning down on the wand in her hand, the girl still held that quaint loveliness in her features that Aurelia could not ignore.

Although it was best she returned to her work, Aurleia could not seem to turn away. She assumed that she was having some trouble with a spell. To her own surprise, Aurelia found herself standing and her feet moving towards where the girl where seated not too far away. “Do you happen to require some help? On the spell perhaps?” she asked.
