Room 218

An empty classroom, third from the end of the corridor. Large pane windows overlook a courtyard that is presently covered in a thin blanket of icy snow. The classroom often serves a study hall, a place where muggle-borns are tutored by upperclassmen and assisted in their acclimation to the magical world. Two rows of tables flank a narrow aisle. A quartet of forward-facing chairs stare quietly at a great blackboard that spans the front of the classroom. Written in chalk a single word is written on the blackbord:

Liberation. This club was founded by (first Gryffindor or top three points earned in December player to post in this thread that wants it, just be clear in your post about it) the other day. The Gryffindor Common room hosted a simple poster announcing the Liberation Club. A club that was founded for one simple goal: to investigate as novice investigators the murder of Dolores Umbridge and to bring the true murderer to justice.

There was not a lot of information that was made public, however the crime happened here in Hogwarts. They had exclusive access to the place where Harry Potter was arrested. The actual crime occurred on these very grounds.

This classroom, every Saturday from 9 am to 11 am would serve as a makeshift clubhouse. At least until a better headquarters was discovered.

This is a thread to discuss what you already know from last month's Headmaster Office thread, Gryffindor Common Room thread and the Daily Prophet articles. In my next post, the club's 'founder' will reveal some additional information. They got the names of the three witnesses to Umbridge's murder, they overheard the names being shared as they were being discussed by a pair of (undisclosed unless a pair volunteer to be the source of this conversation) Professors.

This thread is for Gryffindors and the top three point earners for the month of December: @Teiki Laurent, @Pericles Dralt and @Logan Bairdonly

The crowd that would find their way into this classroom would include mostly Gryffindors, less possibly three others (the top point earners) from other houses that overheard the basic premise of this newly formed club from a pair of conversing Gryffindors (if someone volunteers to be the blabbermouth, by all means otherwise they will remain nameless).

Footsteps echoed dully upon the stone floor as Evelynn paced back and forth from one side of the class to the other. This classroom in particular had become ─ in addition to the potions classroom and the library ─ one of her regular haunts. Typically, she was among several other underclassmen receiving tutelage from elder students. Its purpose on this occasion, however, was very different. Today it would see a gathering of the keen, the curious, and the unconvinced; a collection of like-minded students with a desire to see Harry Potter liberated of the recent injustice.

Or that was what she hoped would happen, at least. The events in the common room had been something out of a fantasy novel, to Evelynn. It wasn't everyday that you found yourself in the midst of what appeared to be a full-blown mystery. Within the span of minutes, her peers had devolved into self-imagined investigators, most with a determination to discover clues that would support Potter's innocence. There were, naturally, those who also supported the opposing view. And then there was her. Evelynn wasn't sure exactly where she stood on the matter quite yet; and she was still quite skeptical about the notion that any of them could do anything at all, even if they had somehow uncovered legitimate information that had for some reason or other been overlooked by the formal Ministry investigation. But there did remain one thing about which she was absolutely certain: one way or another, things just weren't adding up. And she wanted to know why.

For the weeks leading up to and spanning the holidays, she had taken her time to digest the events of the inquest of the common room and its inhabitants. Many theories had taken form in her mind; many quite abstract and unlikely. She had also taken the effort to dig up and dig through various Daily Prophet papers that had been printed over the last year or two. Several articles had caught her interest. She was only one person, however, and new to this world and the school. Whenever she tried to piece some semblance of a whole together, the comments spoken by Miss McGonnagal about the mask and glove and the previous headmasters always seemed to come back to her, reminding her that she knew little and less about the politics of the professors or the events that had transpired at the school over the last year.

Before the holidays had even come to a conclusion, Evelynn had firmly decided that she would have to take a more pro-active approach if ever she wanted to solve this...whatever this was. She would need to reach out to the other Gryffindors, and perhaps even the student body as a whole, to amalgamate their observations, knowledge, and data and work as a unit to piece it all together. Although this in itself would prove to be a feat and a half, she had no doubt, the first step wasn't. For now, all she had needed to do was bring them all together. Advertise a date, a time, a place, and a purpose. And so she did. By the next day after classes had been resumed after the holiday, Evelynn had posted a plethora of posters around the Gryffindor corridors and dorms. Surely, none could miss them.

Now, with baited breath and racing mind, Evelynn paced back and forth in the empty classroom awaiting those of like mind.
Evelynn waits for others to arrive to the first of what she intends to be regular meetings to amass information, examine inconsistencies, discern correlations, and draw conclusions (in theory, supporting Potter's innocence) with regards to the murder of Dolores Umbridge

The Liberation Club.

It had definitely something that had piqued Pierre's interest when he had first heard of it, having found the fliers absolutely everywhere in the commons. The fliers had been neat and organized, and had been calling out for other Gryffindors to come together and help to liberate Potter from the injustice he was facing. Piérre certainly couldn't think of anything better to do with his time, so here he was, running down the corridors as he usually did, dressed in unseemly clothes as was his usual.

Rolled a d4 to determine house color for the day:
1-
Hufflepuff
2- Ravenclaw
3- Gryffindor
4- Slytherin

Number Rolled: 1
Hufflepuff

Nearly towing his black and yellow striped scarf from the ground, Piérre struggled to keep himself from tripping on it. As it was, it was still tightly wound about him, but it was still finding a way to drag on the ground. As for his similarly black and yellow designed sweater, Piérre had pulled it out of his laundry hamper, deciding it wasn't all too dirty, and was wearing it for the second time in a week. It was certainly wrinkled, and the starched white collar beneath it was a little more than wrinkled, but it was better than nothing, and with excitement still pounding in his veins, he was at the classroom door, peering in at the sight of a new club.

Who else but @Evelynn Decipio met his eye! Piérre recognized her signature red hair and anxious pace like had known her his whole life! Leave it up to the intelligent, step by step planning of the first year Gryffindor to arrange this whole thing on her own! She had been one of the leading investigators in the common room who had not let emotions get the best of her, a direct contrast to Pierre's young, outraged outburst. He was simply too immature to understand when it was a good idea to keep things calm and when to share a piece of his mind, and Evelynn, as he had also witnessed, could be the same if provoked, even if her anger and frustrations were vented in a different way than his.

Creaking open the door, Piérre stepped in carefully, witnessing the name of the club on the chalkboard. He smiled as he waved at Evelynn. "Hi Evelynn! Wow! You spruced up the place a bit, didn't you?" He said happily, indicating to the new arrangement of desks. "Man, I should have known you were the one making the posters and things... You did a way better job than I ever could have!" Previous experience had left Piérre with a knowledge that any attempt to make a poster propagandizing anything would only end up looking like a preschooler had dumped a pile of glitter and glue on a piece of construction paper and added ribbons in super swirly letters to emphasize the importance of the club he was pulling together. Evelynn, in all senses of the word, had surpassed him in every way.

Piérre looked around the room and decided that the best place tp sit was on one of the rows. Besides, he didn't want to be in the way of any older years who wanted to sit in important positions. He was pushed around enough as it was. Quietly, he sat down on the left row, clasping his hands and twiddling his thumbs absentmindedly as he hummed a little under his breath, waiting for the other students to come around. He hadn't been exactly quiet while waiting for the Saturday to arrive, and he had been sure to tell anyone he ran into that he knew for sure was a Gryffindor about the meeting. (He may have accidentally told other people too... Enter @Logan Baird, @Teiki Laurent, and @Pericles Dralt but that was besides the point.) All that really mattered was that now the Gryffindors that cared so much about the boy who had dedicated so much to help preserve wizardingkind from destruction would come together and solve this murder mystery together.

Piérre knew he was no Sherlock, but maybe someone else here was, and he would be Watson; clueless and asking hundreds of questions to help in confirming anyone's suspicions and points.

Piérre enters, sits himself down on the left aisle of the room and waits for other people to arrive.

P.S. If I didn't make it obvious enough, he was likely the talkative one who shared a little too much information...

She was almost certain this club wasn't really meant for her. As in, any other house besides Gryffindor. But observations seemed to have gotten her far enough. At least, far enough to a door, which she suspected might have people inside it for a club- of sorts. More of an Investigation and Conclusion type from what she had heard.

And it had been particularly easy to hear, considering the fact that 1) she was pretty good at finding differences. Words puzzles and such throughout her childhood. 2) Raven/Piérre@Piérre Marchonné had told her about the club. He seemed awfully excited for it, although he mentioned that it was only for Gryffindors. He had left shortly, but she wasn't sure why he told her. Didn't he know that Teiki was a Hufflepuff? They had had that one errand together. But one errand wasn't much, and it had been some time...

She peered into the room curiously, finding the few students that had already wandered into the classroom. She took a full step into the room, the yellow scarf wound loosely around her neck. At least she knew she was in the right classroom- the chalkboard certainly helped ease her worry. She noticed Raven, as well as the other two girls. She hadn't met either of them, she realized, although it seemed obvious who was in charge. She took a few more small steps towards a desk, uncertain. But Raven wouldn't be here at this time if this hadn't been the club he had talked about. Unless it was truly as secret as intended.

She sat down on the left side, closer towards the door. She suspected they would be okay with a few strangers- after all, they were trying to investigate the murder of Dolores Umbridge. Although the verdict had been Harry Potter, many were outraged, herself included. The Headmaster being gone also worried her, although she hadn't done anything about it. Probably not the best idea, she now decided. A little too late for it now, though.

"I've read the Daily Prophet, but haven't done anything else really. I'll try to help out." She offered, a small shrug and sympathetic glance towards the pacing girl. They wanted to figure this out, so she hoped she didn't get in their way. But perhaps her keen eyesight would help. Even if others might have a similar trait. She didn't know.
Sitting towards the back, left aisle. Waiting for others, and offering help.

Logan hesitantly walked down one of the many hallways of the school. She hadn't changed out of her school robes yet, so her yellow and black robes stuck out. A young in her year had talked to her earlier in the day about a group and she wasn't quite sure about why she was even following the directions on the flyer she was given in the first place.

She didn't understand why she had come to the meeting anyway, she only had one friend in Gryffindor and she really didn't think that he was going to show up to one of these meetings. She could barely talk out loud to anyone either, which would make it difficult for her to even talk to anyone in the first place.

So far the only students that the young Hufflepuff had even seen in the hallway where Gryffindor, which concerned her that she would be the only non-Gryffindor there. Logan had heard about Harry Potter having been convicted of killing Dolores Umbridge, but she honestly didn't believe it. She remembered hearing stories about the great Harry Potter and she didn't think that he would do anything like kill someone.

With hesitation the young Hufflepuff stopped in front of one of the many classrooms in the school. Definitely the right room, she could already see Gryffindor students in there and a few of them talking to each other. Logan could already feel the uneasiness growing inside of her, but once she saw someone else from her house, she calmed down greatly.

Logan headed towards a desk, near the other Hufflepuff, but not exactly beside her. She shifted her hair to cover part of her face and looked at the other students. She noticed one other student wearing Hufflepuff robes, but she didn't recognize him. She only shook her head and turned to look at the others, not knowing any of them. Logan could already tell which seats the older students were going to take and which the other underclassmen would have.

"I might be able to help a little bit," she whispered out quietly, "I know some about the case, but not a lot though." Logan was nervous about talking in front of anyone, and most people would be able to tell with the fact that she moved her hair to cover part of her face.

Attempting to interact with @Evelynn Decipio. Open to further interactions.
It was all so adventurous - secret meetings in abandoned classrooms, coded letters and gruesomely murdered pets left behind as warnings.

She’d always wanted to be a part of something bigger, and she’d be darned if she let this big of a chance escape.

Fearing a repeat of her Common Room fiasco, Jo slipped quietly into the room this time, setting her bags stuffed with “evidence” down on the floor with a thump.

It seemed the club hadn’t started yet... which of course meant that now was her time to shine. She sauntered up to @Evelynn Decipio, one of the other students in her room. Judging by the other students trying to talk to her, she seemed like the leader.

“Hello. Um, I’m Jo Morgan, I’m a first yea...” She started to introduce herself, but stopped abruptly, turning away as a terrifying thought emerged.

This was the second time they’d met. Evelynn knew her from the Common Room, an incident that in hindsight had embarrassed the girl greatly since she had acted in an unusual and erratic way. There was no doubt in her mind that Evelynn saw her as loud, disruptive, and stupid. The last blow hit the hardest, since her intellect was the only thing Jo could ever pride herself on. She winced at the sharp thought, and her lower lip quivered. She should never have come here, but it was far too late to turn back now.

But how should she go about correcting her ruined first impression? Establish authority, said the voice in her head. Let her know you know stuff she doesn’t. You’re not only helpful, you’re necessary to have around!

She straightened her head and spoke.

“Hello. I’m Jo Morgan. You may have heard of me - I’m head of the Acid Pop Club?”

Jo. You absolute nut. You moron. You potato sack. Head of the Acid Pop Club? Do you know how pretentious and bitchy you just sounded? Do you think everyone should know you? How about acting like a normal human being for once and then we’ll see who wants to be your friend!

Although she continued to berate herself inwardly, she flashed a smile, hoping to convey confidence but falling far short.

“Rafael and I found some interesting things in the common room. We... we wanted to share them with everyone and see what they thought.” She bowed politely before continuing. “I was wondering if I could perhaps help write everyone’s ideas on the chalkboard. Would that be okay with y-y-you?”

Aaaaaaand there it was. The icing on the idiot cake. She had stuttered.

Red-faced, she sashayed her way to a table and, opening her bag, dumped a pile of ashes and Pygmy puff skulls all over it. It was too early to show them the letters, and besides, Rafa had them right now so she couldn’t have even if she wanted to.

For now, she contented herself with sitting down and twiddling a piece of chalk between her fingers, waiting for the others to arrive.

[font=Segoe Print]Perhaps it was an eleven-year-old being naïve, but Rafa really couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that Harry Potter could ever be an evil man. Misguided, or not. It was like saying fire was cold, or a werewolf was warm and cuddly – it simply wasn’t possible, magic or not. Sure, the man had done some dark things to liberate the world from the Iron Fist of Lord Voldemort. Some actions were beyond avoiding. It sickened him slightly that anyone would ever lose faith in the great man. Hadn’t he done enough for the wizarding world to be trusted?

The whole situation was rather shady, there was no avoiding that fact. Especially after such a media blackout, the details of the trial lost in the cracks of time. Some people had been compelled to forget about the whole incident, move on – this was also impossible, for Rafa in the least. The more he looked into the whole Potter mess, the more clear it became that there was much more to the story than met the eye. Much more. It seemed unreasonable, after seeing some of the ever-mounting evidence, to believe that Potter had just killed the woman is cold blood. No, it had to be more than that. Even though, as much as it pained him to say it, Potter as a murderer still couldn't be ruled out, there was definitely more to read into before such an outrageous notion could ever be confirmed. The whole situation seemed to be a massive mystery. A dangerous one at that – a landmine, perhaps, waiting to be stepped on. A time-bomb. It didn’t make Rafa nervous, though. On the contrary, it gave him an energetic edge, a buzz of adventure, the same one that he longed for in every dangerous escapade he had ever participated in. He never had been a boy of brains, but his tendency towards action always made up for this. It would surely make him a good ally in the tenser situations, when the adrenaline was high and logic was running low.

At the moment, he was a man on a mission. After him and Jo had discovered the different pieces of evidence from the Headmaster’s Office, and after uncovering the information he had in the common room, it would be incredibly un-Gryffindor of him to just put his knowledge aside and continue on with his life. His thoughts, ferocious little creatures, were keeping him up at night, his mind spinning with theories and confusion. While his ideas had been strange and far-fetched, it was at least a sign that the whole issue meant a great deal to him. God forbid he stop now.

He had wasted no time in finding Room 218 – he had never actually been in the room before, he’d admit. He was running a bit late – this thought alone pushed him to fly through the hallways at an ungodly speed, his eyes flitting around the corridors in search of his destination. At the rate he was going, he had almost missed it – thankfully, he had barely caught it out of the corner of his eye, a lucky turn of events. His reflexes quickly set in, and he stopped, sliding a bit in his shoes. His arm caught the door frame, bringing him to a skidding stop. “Hey, is this the Liberations Club?” he questioned before his mind could catch up with him. His eyes searched the room at this comment, looking for any indication that it was, indeed, the place he was looking for. Surely enough, his eyes caught his study mate – and the girl from the common room. Evelynn.

Clutching a dirt-splotched backpack in one hand and the Greg in the other, he haphazardly stepped through the door, a bright look on his face. Before he had made his way to this little corner of the school, he had taken a pit-stop at the common room - this was not for vanity reasons. While he did throw on his red hoodie, he had mainly come for the evidence him and Jo had amassed – namely, a stack of letters between Lear and Umbridge, and the infamous lucky pygmy-puff. Rafa had been watching the poor animal ever since he discovered it in the Headmaster’s Office only days ago. Ever since, he had made sure to take good care of the animal, making sure to feed it and entertain it well, as its owner surely did.

Giving them both a bright, almost mischievous grin, he said, “Brought the evidence. Hopefully it’s some help to you guys.” This was mostly directed towards Jo, given that she had been present in the discovery of it all. Though, he made no move to open the backpack. They would get to that when the meeting started. It simply wasn’t the time right now. Instead of standing and waiting around, he decided to find a nearby seat – he wasted no time in getting himself acquainted with his surroundings, leaning back comfortably with his arms behind his head and propping his feet up on a desk. His usual classroom position, being the little delinquent that he was. He figured, if he were going to be here for a while, he’d should at least make the best of the situation and get comfortable. A bad back and stiff joints were no good in active situations – hopefully, they wouldn’t run into any of those, but you never knew. After all, there were many famous legacies at this school, and for each one, a dangerous moment. He would do well to prepare for them. Otherwise, he may not be able to avenge his hero.

Interacting with@Piérre Marchonné , @Snow Jones, @Teiki Laurent, @Logan Baird, @Jo Morgan, and @Rafael D'Spacito
It felt like an eternity before anyone joined her in the room, and when someone finally did, she almost didn't notice right away. Almost. Her steps stopped abruptly as the appearance of a head peering around the edge of the doorway caught her eye. The black and yellow of an oversized scarf was the first thing she noted.

"Are you here for─" she had begun to ask, her expression puzzled to see a Hufflepuff peering in at her, and thinking that maybe they were in the wrong classroom. Then she recognized the face and her lips split to a grin. "Piérre! You're here for the Potter case, right?"

It was a rhetorical question. Of course he was. She'd roll her eyes and call him a liar if he denied it. Out of everyone in the common room, he had probably been the most vocal about his vehemence towards the supposed ridiculous outcome of the trial. The dramatic entrance he had made was one she would not soon forget. She was glad to see him there; every group needed a healthy amount of energy, and she knew Piérre would be bringing it by the barrel.

"It wasn't all that much..." She replied, her face going slightly pink as she tucked a strand of hair behind an ear. Like her mother, she had never really been one to know how to take a complement. Not realizing he had been talking specifically about the posters rather than the initiative to organize the meeting, she continued, "The rumors have been flying about the castle as it is. It's obvious we've all been dwelling on what we all found. I just thought it was past time we actually put our heads together..."

Just as Piérre retreated to find a seat, another student walked in. This time, one of her own dorm mates, although the two had never formally met.

"I...uh..." Evelynn found herself momentarily lost for words as the girl posed her question. Perhaps lost wasn't quite the right expression. Lost in thought may have been more apt. "Yes, I suppose so..."

She hadn't really considered this having been a creation of anything. Just a proactive effort to gathering. But the tone the girl had used had put Evelynn a little on the defensive, as though the girl had thought it funny that the Gryffindor were capable of such a thing, or that she had been silly for doing so. For a fleeting moment, she felt embarrassment; but it was quickly overshadowed by a bristling of anger. Why should she feel embarrassed? Her hands clenched defiantly against her thighs where she stood. What was so funny about wanting to gather a collective hivemind? A determined expression set upon her features.

"Well, I don't know about the Ministry's ways," Evelynn retorted in a clipped voice, "But there's obviously something that doesn't add up. I don't know how much you know," she continued, noting that the girl had not been present in the common room when she and the others had made the series of discoveries, initially. "But I suppose if you've come, you're curious enough to hear what this is all about. Hopefully you're as unbiased as you are tactless and are willing and able to participate to filter through the information."

It took a great deal of effort for Evelynn not to outright snap at the girl to get out of the class, then, and mind her own business. But, she reminded herself, this was ─ in a way ─ what she had hoped for. To have the united front of the Gryffindors. The more hands, the merrier; another mind, another pair of eyes...every additional individual could bring something that might otherwise have been missing.

"My name is Evelynn, by the way," she stated, raising her voice enough to carry across the room as the girl seated herself in the back. "Evelynn Decipio. I thought it might be polite to introduce myself properly."

The flutter of another robe caught her attention then, and once more, she snapped her gaze to the entrance to see an actual Hufflepuff. And another first year. This one Evelynn was certain she recognized. Of the first years, there had been a few whose faces had ─ for one reason or another ─ stuck with her during that first fateful evening of being shuffled into the Entrance Hall prior to the Sorting.

"Hello!" Evelynn chimed, offering a bright smile. "Oh good!" The smile that widened all the more as the girl mentioned having read the Daily Prophet and her hoping to help in what way she could. "I was hoping to bring up a few articles of the paper to see what people think. I'm Evelynn, by the way. Evelynn Decipio. Happy to have you on board."

And then a second Hufflepuff! What luck! Grey eyes flickered over Logan as the young girl joined to seat herself nearby to her dorm-mate. Evelynn raised a hand in a subtle and silent wave of greeting. The girl seemed nervous, she noted, especially when she deliberately adjusted her hair to hide part of her face.

Evelynn was just about to head over to introduce herself when a figure sauntered up quite confidently. The redhead's foot didn't even move an inch, but rather pivoted to face the girl. She recognized her at once as one of the more involved members of the investigation. The one who she herself had had to correct for having seemingly misread the paper and starting a back-tracking of steps in the common room when it should have been in the headmaster's office.

"Hey," Evelynn greeted her approach.

The smile that was about to be offered to the first-year Gryffindor's introduction never did quite make its way onto Evelynn's face, though. What had sounded like it was going to finally be a proactive introduction ─ something that was apparently in short-order around here ─ cut off mid-sentence. And by the looks of it, Evelynn's dorm mate became suddenly overcome by some sort of internal struggle. Ever the observant one, she waited. And watched. Making note of the slight shifts in expression and the length of time that lapsed.

Finally, something must have clicked, though, for the girl straightened and started again. This time it was Evelynn's turn to hold her silence. She wasn't sure what she liked better: the uncertainty or the pompousness.

"Can't say that I have," Evelynn drolled, quirking her brow. "Not from the Acid Pop Club, anyway. But since you're my dorm-mate and we're in the same classes... Yea, I know who you are, Jo."

She let that linger in the air between them for a moment.

"And I'm Evelynn," she added, guessing that if Jo hadn't realized Evelynn would have known her name, that Jo probably didn't know who she was.

Another pause.

"Anyway, glad you made it. You had some interesting questions and insights last time. Curious to know if you've come up with any rev─" Evelynn cut off as Jo jumped back in to tell her about the discoveries she and Rafael had made. And then rose her brows in surprised uncertainty with the stuttering offer to serve as secretary. "Uh...sure? If you want to? That would be cool..."

What else was there to say about it?

"Hey is this the Liberation Club?"

Thank the Lord for well-timed interruptions. The awkwardness had been gripping at Evelynn's belly, and she was all too happy to use the sudden question from the doorway as an excuse to break away.

"Yes!" She answered chipperly, seeing Rafael, one of the Gryffindor quidditch team players, inquiring. Seeing the bag he carried immediately piqued her curiosity and she sent a sidelong glance towards Jo with his mention of evidence. "What's inside?" She asked, gray eyes flicking back to him as he found a seat. Already her fingers itched to open that zipper so she could peer at the bag's contents.

So what new information has come to light?

Well 2 things.

First, the maker of the Liberation Club overheard a pair of staff members talking. (As no Professors have stepped forward to volunteer...) It was a duo of house elves that were cleaning the Gryffindor common room, they were gossiping as they worked and they did not notice the young Gryffindor sitting on the couch. Well, there might have been a bit of sneaking considering how much was overheard --

Two Slytherin third years: Marion Davenport and Victor Moore were the ones that turned Harry Potter in for the murder of Dolores Umbridge. They were talking about how the pair had isolated themselves from the rest of the student body since Potter's arrest. How they avoided eating in the great hall and how they skipped out on the last two dances. There was also a third one, someone from Ravenclaw - Vladimir something. They could not pronounce his last name, just some well-bred boy belonging to a pure-blood family that was also involved. It was a good thing the Professors kept their names under wraps from even the Prefects, otherwise those three would probably get pummeled by disgruntled students they concluded before they went on their merry way.

The second thing, another news article (posting it after this post) gave some basic updates regarding Harry Potter's case. The public unrest regarding his incarceration and ultimate sentence. This disbelief and mistrust in the media and well as the Ministry permeated the article as well as another important clue - there was something missing in the case Harry Potter's wand. Something that might prove that Harry did not kill Dolores. However, the castle was huge and while it was likely hidden somewhere it was unlikely that they could casually uncover something that was hidden for over a year. Indeed, it was purposefully hidden or in the possession of someone right now.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

He had taken his time getting ready for classes that day. Being lost in thought did that sometimes, and indeed, thats where the boy was that day; in his own mind- trying to figure out exactly what had happened at Lears office a few days earlier. Lamik did know what happened, of course- he just didnt understand. Solomon Lear, the Hogwarts Headmaster, supposedly a prodigy wizard with incredible power, was gone. No one seemed to know what had happened, but it was clear that it wasn't pretty. The paintings were gone, the door was broken down, and a secret message was painted on the wall. And then there was the hidden compartment in the desk- something HAD to have been kept there in the past.

The whole headmaster ordeal interested the boy a lot more then the confusion surrounding Harry Potter. Though it had been extremely suprising at first, Lamik had quickly come to the conclusion that even though it was unlikely that he was really guilty, it was definitely possible. Besides, Lamik wasnt old enough to really have any familiarity with the boy who lived. On the other hand, Solomon Lear was someone Lamik knew personally. Still, Lamik saw no reason not to see what was going on in the meeting, so he arrived. Late, sure, but he DID arrive.
