When Airlia arrived at King's Cross with her parents she instantly knew she should have come alone. After her brother, Gael had run away from home the year before they had become extra protective of Airlia. That meant that while she had been forced to go to London alone to find King's Cross in her first year, now to her second year her parents and a bodyguard were escorting her.

If possible her parents Aeson and Elora would probably have sent the bodyguard to the train with her to escort her all the way to Hogwarts grounds but alas that wasn't the way. And Aeson and Elora Winter were nothing if not traditional.

They truly were a strange sight here. No one could miss that they were family. They all wore white and had their long platinum blonde hair down. They looked like copies of one another and her parents carried themselves like royalty in their upscale vintage clothing. No one could look down upon them. At least not physically since Aeson and Elora towered above everyone being the tallest in the train station.

Airlia lowered her head down, not making eye contact with the muggles that turned to look at them or stole second glances at her parents.

Going in public as a family was always like this. Her parents couldn't help but draw attention at themselves as they spoke Finnish; a language that sounded strange upon most ears as they didn't want anyone to listen in or understand what they spoke.

That is why when Airlia got to the wall between platforms nine and ten she twirled around, looked at her parents and smiled softly, wanting to go to the train as quickly as possible.

"Airlia, me odotamme sinulta paljon." Airlia's mother started with a strict expression.
"Airlia, we expect a lot from you."

"Tiedän. Käyttäydyn kyllä Tylypahkassa." Airlia answered, making a promise to her mother she would do her best to keep.
"I know. I will behave at Hogwarts."

"Näen rouva De Annsin. Käyn puhumassa hänelle. Hyvää matkaa, Airlia." Her mother spoke with grace and had a soft voice Airlia knew she would miss at Hogwarts. While she was mostly glad that she would have time at Hogwarts without her parents around to teach her how to be a lady and pureblood lineages, she still did have a need to be close to them. Especially her mother who had always been distant. Like she was emotionally out of reach even if they were only two feet apart.
"I see Mrs. De Anns. I will go speak to her. Good travels, Airlia."

Airlia watched her mother walk off without as much as a hug to speak to Mrs. De Anns who's daughter had been arranged to marry Airlia's brother Gael before he ran off.

"Hänen on hankala päästää sinut lähtemään tiedäthän. Hän pitäisi sinut mielummin aina kotona." Airlia's father Aeson said as he crouched down to her level.
"She has a hard time letting you go you know. She would rather have you always at home."

"No minun on hankala nähdä tuo." Airlia mumbled, a bit of venom in her voice that she had never heard before.
"Well, I am having a hard time seeing that."

"Hän kyllä välittää. Varmaan enemmän kuin suurin osa. Mutta häntä on satutettu ennenkin joten hän pitää asiansa itsellään. Aivan kuten minä. Mutta minä en peittele asioita yhtä hyvin kuin hän..." Aeson had a soft smile on his face. After Gael had left he'd known they had messed up with his upbringing. Been too unloving, too shielded and too harsh.
"She does care. Probably more than most. But she's been hurt before so she keeps things to herself. Just like I do. But I don't hide things as well as she does..."

Over the summer break, Airlia and her father had grown closer. He had been a better father than ever before and stood up against Elora's dated parenting. For once one of her parents were on her side and nor a united front against her. And she was grateful.

"Isä... Tulen kaipaamaan sinua."
"Father... I will miss you."

"Ja minä sinua. Olet minulle hyvin rakas." Aeson said gently.
"And I you. You are very dear to me."

Airlia hugged her father quickly before turning around, taking the luggage cart from the silent, observing bodyguard beside them and waving goodbye she stepped through the wall and onto the hidden platform to Hogwarts Express.
