Janet pressed her face against the window and sighed as she saw others walking out of the shop with firebolts and nimbus 2001s, she would have loved to get a broom as she was hoping to be accepted on to the team. But even if she did get accepted she would have to ride one of the rickety old school brooms, so Janet made a promise to herself that she wouldn't buy a single thing for herself until she had enough money for a cleansweep 7. She knew that she was probably much more likely to be on the team if she had her own broom, if she had her own good broom, this was going to be a very hard promise to keep to herself she thought gloomily as she glanced behind her at Weesleys Wizarding Wheezes where she had planned to spend the rest of her money on dungbombs. She sighed and dug around in her money bag reaching into the far corners, she emptied out the contents into her palm. "Oh," she thought miserably, "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all." There were only six sickles and twenty two knuts, not even one galleon! Janet emptied it back into her bag and glanced longingly at Weesleys Wizarding Wheezes but then shook herself quickly, "No," she told herself firmly, "you made a promise to yourself and you are going to keep it!"

Today was somehow special because she finally had enough galleons to buy a brand new broom! Becoming a Prefect and participating so many errands truly paid it off. Back when she was only a first-year student, she was very poor and had very little money and the only thing to do to change her financial situation was really just hard work. Returned in the Diagon Alley certainly brought back some good memories, she remembered how excited she was last year, her parents helping her buying the books and school supplies for Hogwarts and the best part was when she got her own magical wand. She could never forget the moment when she felt a strong warmth coming from her wand. Griseldis also remembered her first time meeting her own owl, Crystal. Looking around, Diagon Alley was still a place full of wizards and witches, young and old buying stuffs in different kinds of stores. Griseldis just loved the lively feeling in this place, it filled with so much life and magic.

Finally, she arrived at her destination. Griseldis looked up at the sign that was written "Quality Quiffitch Supplies". Now that she was a second-year and had gathered 22 galleons to buy the broom she wanted for a long while now, the Nimbus 1700. But right before she took another step to enter the store, she noticed a girl with long, straight red hair and bright hazel eyes who was standing near the window display. She had some freckles and her skin was light brown. The young girl certainly looked pretty in Griseldis's opinion. She watched as the red-haired girl was checking at her money and it seemed that she wasn't happy, assume that the girl didn't have enough money to buy what she wanted. Then she began to shook her head and saying that she made herself a promise.

Griseldis wasn't sure why she felt quite generous today so maybe she could cheer up the young girl up a little. She walked towards her and greeted her with a friendly smile, "Hey there!" Then she took out a small blue box which contained an enchanted chocolate frog inside from her robe pocket and handed to the girl, "Would you like a chocolate frog perhaps? Might help cheer you up a little bit."

She had just turned around to leave when she heard the sound of foot steps behind her, and the sound of gold jingling in a bag. She turned around to see a pretty girl who looked a little older than Janet herself with chocolate brown hair and pale grey eyes, that was (judging by her scarf and uniform) a Gryffindor just like her.

"Hey There!" She said cheerily, then she took out a little blue box that Janet knew to contain a enchanted chocolate frog, one of Janet's personal favourite sweets (alongside fizzing wizbees and sugar quills of course). "Would you like a chocolate frog perhaps? Might help cheer you up a little bit."

"Sure! Thanks!" she said with her typical Janet-like cheeky grin that made people become permanently convinced she was "up to no good" as her mother always said, That's very nice of you, I can't afford to buy too many sweets, well I can, but I promised myself I would save up for a broom. I haven't got nearly enough yet but that's only to be expected as I'm just a little first year who has only just started saving up. Oh my name is Janet by the way, Janet Jackson. What's yours? I feel like I recognise you somewhere... Oh of course! You're a Gryffindor prefect aren't you! Just a warning I talk quite a bit so you'll have to get used to that haha."

Griseldis watched as the girl cheerfully accepted the chocolate frog, she looked quite young so she believed that she could be a first-year and it was a pleasant surprise to see that she was a Gryffindor student like her as well since she was wearing the same color House scarf. Then the girl first thanked her for being nice and later on she told her that she promised herself not to buy too many sweets so she could save up money to buy a broom, and finally introduced herself and that was when she learned her name to be Janet Jackson.

Although, Griseldis didn't wear her Prefect badge at the moment and was surprised that Janet would say that she seen her before and suddenly recognized her for being a Prefect. But now that Griseldis thought about it, she recalled when she just became the new Prefect of the Gryffindor House last year in September, she did lead a group of first-year Gryffindor students. And there were two girls who looked quite close as if they already knew each other for a very long time and perhaps were childhood best friends. However, as a Quidditch player, the mention of a broom sparked an interest in her to get to know about this younger Gryffindor.

"You're welcome, I totally understand that it's not that easy to earn money but each month the Professors or Prefects will host new errands and you can earn some rewards like House points, chocolate frogs or sickles, for example, only if you are willing to participate. And it's nice to meet you too, Janet. My name is Griseldis Edelhardt, you can just call me Gris instead because most people often don't remember my first name.", Griseldis said to Janet with a friendly smile, and now she got curious because she wanted to know the girl's intention of wanting a broom, "So, you said you're saving up money for a broom. Are you perhaps interested to join the Gryffindor Quidditch Team? You might be surprise, I'm not only a Prefect, but also one of the team members on the Quidditch team. I currently play as a Chaser but I was thinking to change my role as a beater if possible."

OOC: I would say this enounter should happen during the Winter holiday because Griseldis became a Prefect last year in September. If they meet in Diagon Ally before the new semester, she wasn't really a Prefect yet.

Janet munched on the chocolate frog the delicious smooth chocolate melting in her mouth and slipping down her throat. She swallowed it. The prefect started talking and when she gave her advice on earning more money said that she could call her Gris instead of Griseldis she smiled to show her intention of wanting to say thanks but not being able to due to that large lump of chocolate she was chewing at the time.
"So, you said you're saving up money for a broom. Are you perhaps interested to join the Gryffindor Quidditch Team? You might be surprise, I'm not only a Prefect, but also one of the team members on the Quidditch team. I currently play as a Chaser but I was thinking to change my role as a beater if possible."
Janet hurriedly swallowed the new lump of chocolate in her haste to reply and there was a moment where she thought she was going to choke but thankfully it passed.
"I was going to apply for a beater this year but at the last second when I had already been chosen I withdrew," She said with more than a hint of sadness in her voice, "I decided that I would wait until I was a bit older and more experienced and understood Quidditch a bit better, and I also wanted to maybe buy a broom before I joined the team so I don't have to use a school one." She looked at the floor sadly but then cheered up, "But it does at least mean that my best friend Ariana gets to be first string like she wanted, we applied together so we could both be beaters you see."
She took another munch out of a chocolate frog, then turning to look at the card which was found on closer examination to be Urg the Unclean.
