The Beginning Solo Finished

Hestia stood by her mother, waiting for the scarlet train to arrive. Her mother seemed more irritated than usual, Hestia couldn't find out why. Her mother frowned and stood there with arms crossed. Hestia couldn't find out why. Hestia's mood definitely contrasted with her mother's, she couldn't help, but look at everything in awe. This made her question why her mom hid this from her, was there a dark secret about the wizarding world? It was probably a good idea to ask.

"Hey mom...About this whole wizarding thing...Why did you hide this from me, it's great!"

Her mom looked over at her. She looked...Tired..

"Trust me...You don't want to question me on this one...There's just things in the world that it would be better if you didn't know about them.."

Hestia was surprised by this answer, typically her mom encouraged questions.
"I do want to know..

"I'll tell you when you're older..." She smiled ."Just focus on enjoying your time at Hogwarts...Okay?"

This still didn't make much sense to Hestia, but she decided to not push it.

"Okay..."

Hestia stared off into the distance. Waiting for the train to arrive. Her mom looked down at her frowning.

"Why don't you go introduce yourself to those kids over there?" She gestured to a group of kids that were talking. "One great thing about Hogwarts is the friends and memeories you'll make with them!"

Hestia looked over at them. "I'll make some friends later...I have plenty of time...Besides it looks like they are having a conversation, it would be rude to butt in."
This seemingly upset her mother.

"That isn't like you Hestia..."

Hestia was unaware of how she had changed in recent years, she had no clue about what her mother was going on about.

"What do you mean?"

"Well you'd normally go up to people and introduce yourself without hesitation...You've changed..You stay in your room all day now and you rarely go out...I'm not so sure if these changes are good ones..."

Hestia looked around in unease. Why had she changed? She now had a new found fear when it came to talking to others. What was it? Why was it? When she was younger she had way more confidence. Her lack of it, was humiliating. There was no way she could discuss her loss of confidence with her mother. She didn't know how to talk about it, she didn't know enough in order to do so.

"I'm just getting older...I'll be fine.."

Her mother sighed.

"Is there something bothering you, something you want to talk about?"

Hestia tensed. She was going to do something that she was definitely going regret.

"I'm fine there's nothing that I want to discuss."

Hestia could tell from her mom's eyes that she had seen through her lie.

"Oh okay.." She sounded hurt.

Hestia hated lying to her mother, but at the moment she felt as if she had no choice. She could feel the slight wedge it put in their relationship, this made the air feel tense..Luckily a gorgeous red train saved her from this terrible moment.

"I love you" Hestia's mother pulled her into a hug.

Hestia hugged back. "Love you too"

Hestia pulled free and quickly darted towards the entrance dragging her suitcase behind her.

"Be sure to send me an owl once you get to school!"

An owl? How and why Hestia do that? It seemed like she was going to find out in a couple of hours.
