An Open Car  Closed
Charlotte waved to her father as the train slowly pulled away. Now, she just had to deal with the issue of where to sit. What if she made a friend that ended up in a different house? What if she did something wrong? First impressions were everything, and as she looked around blankly at the older students around her, she was afraid she would sit in the wrong seat, say the wrong thing, act the wrong way. She drew her shoulders back and dragged her suitcase behind her as she moved to the next car. Miraculously, it was empty! It took her a few seconds to fumble with the lock, but soon enough she slid it open. Being too short to put her trunk above her, she put it in the seat next to her while leaving the booth across from her open. Her dad had tried to explain the whole process as best he could, but Charlotte felt there was a huge brand across her forehead that said “FIRST YEAR”. Fake it till you make it her mom had always said. She reached into her travel bag and drew our Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She was halfway through the book, and was excited to prep for Charms material next. Luggage clattered past the glass door, but she hardly noticed as she began the passage on Mermaids.
