Reading in the Library

Aria walked into the library, it was warm and bright due to the roaring fires and winter sunlight shining through the windows. She sighed and sat in a large armchair close to the fire, the soft warn leather sinking and enveloping her in a plush hug. She pushed her glasses up her nose and started to rummage through her bag, looking for the book she was reading. It was a going-away present from her grandmother and grandfather, a book about the workings and going's on in the Ministry of Magic. Ria loved political books and tended to sit and read for hours if she had the chance.

The book was older, a family book that had been kept through generations. It adapted and changed when new laws or rules were set in place, the perfect book for one who wanted to know about the every changing political world. It surprised Ria that it had taken her so long to actually get to reading the book, but with homework, and classes and the major changes that coming to Hogwarts meant she really didn't have the time to look at the beautiful book. The though leather felt worn smooth in Ria's hands as she crossed her legs, the crest of her family was on the top of its spin showing that it belonged to her family library and giving her a small piece of home. Aria opened it to the first page, the smell of ageing parchment filled her nose and she sank deeper into her chair to read.
