Down the Drain
@Mezryn Slate
Penelope had never been one for making conversation, but this time she had gone too far. She had got up and walked away from one of the only friendships she had made in this enchanted school. It was one thing to get a little tense around others, and that was alright. But getting up and just leaving so abruptly?! That was not ok! Penelope hated herself for what she did. She paced around the bathroom. When she was upset, she needed to fidget. She turned the sinks on and off, and repeatedly flushed the toilets. She knocked on the walls in random places, and finally, sat down on a toilet. She had really liked Selim. He was very interesting, and she hadn't had a great conversation like that since the train.
"Why me? Why?" said Penelope to herself. She didn't understand! Why had she left? She had been talking about science, but then she became super angry with everyone, and everything, and she just had to get away. Penelope looked at her back that she had put down in the corner. Science books stuck out of her bag and they were just a sad reminder of what had just happended. She picked up one. It was called "Buzz, Sting, Bite: Why We Need Insects" the author was Lewis Dartnell. She opened it up and sat down on a toilet again.
Just then, Penelope heard something. It was the door opening. Somehow, someway, fate had once again brought Penelope to meet with a friend. This time it was Mezryn, the girl from the train.
