"Do you have everything, dear?"

Sanguis heard his mother ask for the twentieth time since they had left the house that morning, a trait of hers that he personally found endearing, even if it could be overbearing. But it just meant that she cared, and he couldn't be upset with someone for caring about him, as long as the way they did it wasn't harmful to themselves or others. So he indulged her attempts to express her concern as a mother, giving a confirming nod and patting her arm.

"Well, unless something sprouted legs and took a long stroll, I should still have everything I grabbed this morning. But I'm sure you'll be knocking on the door to my room by tomorrow morning if that did happen, so I'm not too concerned."

His hands were laced behind his head, a broad grin on his face, simply enjoying the walk to platform nine and three quarters where they would board the train. There was a spring in his step and an abundance of energy coursing through him as he imagined what it would be like to experience Hogwarts in person, the place where the greatest legend of the wizarding world attended. It would seem his good mood was infectious, as his mother shook her head with a smile, reaching out to ruffle his hair as they walked.

"Such a good boy, even if you're a few fries short of a meal."

She teased him, poking fun at his unusual tendencies, something that he was used to and wasn't bothered by in the slightest, taking pride in every aspect of who he was. As far as he was concerned, if you were going to expect others to accept you, then you had to accept yourself first, a belief that his parents were proud of him for coming to. Having a bit of fun with her, something that he wouldn't be able to do for a while once he left for Hogwarts, he put on a shocked expression and spoke in a confused, accusatory tone.

"I am? Who's been eating my fries?!"

That got a few weird looks from the people around them, especially when the two of them broke into laughter, but neither of them cared, just enjoying the moment together. Reaching the platform, she pulled him into a hug and ran her fingers through his hair, his arms wrapping around her as he returned the hug. Eventually, she was ready to step away, a sad yet happy smile on his mothers face as she looked down at him.

"You be a good boy at school, okay Sangie? Make lots of friends, and be sure to write home to us every now and then so we know you're having fun."

"Don't worry, I'll befriend half the school before the first week is over and tell you all about it."

Sharing a brief smile and chuckle, she watched him walk through the hidden entrance, taking a moment before she turned around and returned home. On the other side, her little boy was admiring the platform with a mix of excitement and curiosity, watching all the people walking around and getting prepared to depart. Following their example, the young boy got his luggage stored away and climbed onto the train, searching for a compartment that wasn't full so that he could sit down before the train left.

While Selim had been driving through London from the Faust compound, he had mostly been looking outside in genuine awe, having never been outside the compound for even a moment of his life. The Limo driver largly ignored his passenger beyond the polite welcoming when he gestured the boy inside the car.

Selim wasn't suprised that neither of his parents had accompanied him. His father was the head of the clan, his mother often helping him with his work. Besides, they didn't care too much about him, he had concluded that a while ago, at the age of six.

He was too busy looking outside and marvelling at the buildings and cars to think much on that at the moment. Despite his lack of empathy, there was still some instinctual part of him that was disappointed about the lack of care or time his parents spent for him.

He shouldn't care, he was simply their clan heir, someone to be groomed to lead his massive family, nothing more, nothing less.

Of course, he had his own dreams that most defiantly did not line up with his parent's idea of his future, but he couldn't bring himself to care about something so trivial as leading his clan, his older brother (who was actually a cousin) could take over and be quite efficient at the job. Selim had bigger, and more important ambitions then continuing to care about his conservative relatives.

Suddenly, the limo had stopped, and he was in front of the train station. The chauffuer had helped him out of the limousine, pulling his trunk out as well, and then walking with the 11-year-old boy to platform nine.

Silently, the well-dressed driver handed him a closed envelope, before bowing shortly and leaving.

Selim opened the letter, and it quickly read to him ho to enter platform 93/4. He rose a brow upon reading that he had to run into the wall, but decided to simply follow what it said.

Walking closer to the wall, he paused, before continuing, cringing just before he hit the wall, until he realized he was still walking.

Stopping, he looked around, and was slightly shocked upon seeing a whole new platform spread out in front of him. Quickly he shook out of his stupor, and continued towards the bright red train engine. Showing his ticket to the person standing by the entrance to the first train car.

Swiftly he entered, inwardly cringing as he saw everyone crowded in the car. Yeah no, he was most defiantly searching for an emptier car.

He moved through each car methodically, soon ending up at one about five away from the last car. Sighing, he sat down in an empty booth, placing his shrunken truck at his feet. He quickly pulled his bookbag onto his lap, taking out one of hi more advance biology books, and beginning to read.

He silently hoped no one would disturb him, but he guessed the hope was for naught, for he soon heard someone entering the car.

Letting out a quiet sigh, he looked up from his book, yellow slitted eyes glinting with mild annoyance as he looked towards the one that disturbed his peace.

It took a little bit of searching, but the cheerful young wizard to be had found a compartment that only had one other person inside of it. Stepping inside, he would give a pleasant and friendly smile, his eyes closing as his head tilted to the side and he gave a polite wave. This person hadn't seemed the most happy from first glance, but hopefully he would be able to cheer them up and make his first friend before they even reached the school?

"Salve! My name's Sanguis, but I also go by Sangie, Sans, and San! What's your name?"

As he spoke and introduced himself, he opened his eyes and sat in the seat across from them, the warm and happy smile still present on his face. During a quick observation, he noticed that they had amber and slitted eyes, like that of a snake, making him wonder if they were natural or artificial. With magic being a natural part of his life, it wouldn't be unusual at all for someone to have eyes like that as some sort of bloodline or something, in his opinion. They also seemed to have a similar height and build to his own, the both of them being on the slender side from what he could tell. Though in terms of appearance, they seemed to be fairly opposite to one another, Sanguis being lightly tanned with a lightly colored shade of hair, whereas they had almost sickly pale skin and black hair.

The saying of how opposites attract passed through his mind, and reinforced his hopes that they would be friends with one another.

[Apologies for the wait.]

Selim simply rose a brow. This boy was peppy, annoyingly so, but he could put that aside.

When the boy sat across from him, he inwardly sighed, but outwardly, a small smile graced his lips, "Ah, pleasure to meet you, I am Selim Faust, you can call me by either my last or first name, I don't much mind either way." His irritation didn't show in his features at all.

He studied the boy, neigh the opposite of he himself, the irony of meeting someone so different then him on his first day of ever being outside the compound wasn't lost o him.

The child seemed hopeful, perhaps hoping that Selim could be his friend, maybe his first friend even. He couldn't really pass up on the possibility of making a connection so early now could he?

Though he doubted they'd be in the same house, the boy was too happy, and Selim doubted he was cunning enough for their personalities to match perfectly.

"You nervous about going to Hogwarts? I myself am a tad unsettled, this is my first time in the outside world beyond the walls of my family's compound." he asked, voice an odd mix of a strong British accent and a faint Japanese one. His smile becoming a tad more friendly, he gently closed his book, sticking a bookmark between the two pages he was on.

He had a façade to keep up, this was no time to read. He had enough etiquette pounded into his head to know that such a thing was rather impolite when one was having a conversation.

@Selim Faust

(No worries, holidays and school can be busy ^_^)

The friendly smile remained on his face, and even grew somewhat larger as he listened to the boy across from him speak, first introducing himself and then asking a question, if he was nervous about going to Hogwarts. That was a good sign that they were open to being friends with him, continuing the conversation instead of cutting it off after introductions or even ignoring his greeting, right? So, he happily extended his hand for a handshake as he responded to their introduction and answered their question.

"It's great to meet you Selfa, I hope we'll be great friends!"

There was an almost mischievous gleam to his emerald orbs, but he continued quickly to his next words. Due to his excitement, his Latin accent was becoming more noticeable alongside his British accent, which was a very odd thing to most ears.

"I'm not nervous at all, just excited! I've been eager to go to Hogwarts for maybe four or five years now. Personally, I'm hoping to get placed in Hufflepuff, it seems like a great place to make friends. How about you? I'm thinking you'd make a good Ravenclaw or Slytherin, but maybe you'll surprise me and be a Hufflepuff too!"

There was almost an overflow of energy and friendliness that he exuded, a happy and kind soul that many people might find a little overwhelming, but also seemed natural for him somehow. Beneath his bubbly behavior though, he was also picking up on details about his new friend, such as how their smile seemed manufactured and not genuine. Something he should be far more than familiar with, he had seen what genuine smiles and happiness looked like, and he had seen plenty of people who found his personality to be too much but patiently tolerated him, putting on a polite act. This boy was a little harder to read than he was used to for some reason, though, which made him curious of just what was going on with them, maybe he was just naturally very reserved and was trying to get over it since they would be living at Hogwarts with tons of other people? All these thoughts ran through his mind as he sat there with his hand extended, curious to hear what the answer to his question would be.

Selim shook the boy's hand, raising a brow at the accent that seemed to kind of mutilate and mesh his last and first name. Odd, but he didn't let it bother him.

The idea of himself being Hufflepuff made him laugh a bit, some genuine humor tinging it properly. The thought was rather ludicrous. Selim was hardly kind in any way beyond sometimes sharing apple cider. Any kind act he did was either just that, an act, or was a way to get people to owe him.

The only animals he liked were ravens and snakes, he was largely Indifferant to animals other then wondering what would happen if he spliced them with human DNA.

No, he had next to no traits that would put him in Hufflepuff.

The burst of laughter faded quickly, and he faced the boy once more, another smile, only tinged with amusement and humor, on his face, "Sorry to disappoint you, but I highly doubt I'll be in Hufflepuff. Ravenclaw and Slytherin are much more likely, and I'd prefer being in one of those houses mostly because they can help me towards my ambitions more then the other two houses."

The boy's energy and friendliness was overwhelming, and draining to interact with, but not even a trace of it was shown on his face.

"Despite that, we can still interact outside of our houses. I don't care much for the rumoured conflictions between the four houses, rather petty and counter-productive to fall into such things."

He shrugged, casually pulling out a jar of warmed apple cider from his bookbag. He untwisted the top, taking a sip, and holding out another jar to the excitable boy.

"Care for some apple cider? I have a bit of an excess of it."
