Love All, Trust Few, Do Wrong to None
PV to @Phaedra Stavrou
What Alexx liked best was the turnover rate on the Hogwarts Headliner. No honest employer should enjoy that, but Alexx liked the new faces and seeing what they could bring to the table. Alexx had met Phaedra Stavrou but once, yet she had no doubt that the girl could get the job done. VIA a crumbled up issue of the Diadem, she was at least impressed with the previous work that the Ravenclaw had gotten out. The question was if they could work together.
It felt like being on top of the world, being Editor-in-Chief. Alexx was used to looming over the majority by now. Holding many titles in her three short years here at Hogwarts, the French girl had certainly made a name for herself. It was one that she could be proud of, too. But Alexx was greedy. She didn't like her toes to be stepped on, and she sure as hell didn't like someone trying to uproot her. She was here to stay, and Phaedra Stavrou was going to learn that really quickly. The Headliner was her domain; her turf. People needed to know that.
Clearly, Alexx was not a... respectable reporter. Slander, drama, gossip... You name it, they all made it into the paper. In fact, if you asked any of the writers, they might tell you that she encouraged them to write those types of articles. Her main goal was to create chaos, and the most amount of it possible at that. This was recently noticed by an encounter with a one Max Avery, who had agreed to help her take down the evil Artemis Vernatis. The paper had one enemy, and it was the Charms professor. Alexx didn't know what he was up to, but he was up to something, surely! She suspected that he was more wicked than even Lear... Even Professor Jensen and Professor Risa! Professor Vernatis was as bad as Grindlewald- Voldemort, even! She was sure of it!
But the conspiracy theories of the young girl were for later. She needed to know that she could trust Phaedra with such knowledge. That being said, this was a test. An initiation, one might call it. And where better to meet than the breakroom?
Whilst waiting on her newly appointed secretary, Alexx laid out a platter of cookies. Something that reminded her, admittedly, of Ami Procoppio. The two hadn't had time to discuss why she had stepped down or what was to come of the previously budding young pals. Alexx quite liked Ami, perhaps a little too much. However, the concerns of the state of her sexuality were also concerns for later, and those concerns weren't ones that she would involve Phaedra in. She felt as though this was a journey best traveled alone.
Secretly, Alexx wondered how much she would get along with the Ravenclaw. They were the same age, after all. She knew little about her, but she wanted to know more. Was she a pureblood? Where did she come from? What type of person was she like? Ami and Alexx were so close to being best friends. These days, all Alexx had was Reid. Simon too, admittedly. But Simon would go home soon, and she always feared the day that she and Reid drifted apart. It was safe to say that Alexx was in need of some female friends in her life. Perhaps Phaedra Stavrou was the solution to more than one problem.
But the young Slytherin knew it was best not to dwell on such matters. There was no point in getting her hopes up for something that may or may not even happen. Phaedra might end up hating her, for all she knew. Only time would tell.
chill babe. we're all bad in someone's story.
