☼12. August, 2019 -August M. Enette was not perfect, he was unorganized, chaotic, and by all accounts terribly loud. He wasn't a problem child, but that doesn't mean he didn't have problems. He thought love was a given, very matter of fact, the way his mother kissed his head when the acceptance letter came and the way his brother would share the slightly larger sum of pocket money. But some days, love was like sunshine, something to be shared and to be enjoyed, the way he would show Cammy his rock collections and how he would barrel into anyone who he deemed as nice just to smile up and them and run away. He loved people, he wanted to be around them and he basked in the chatter at the dinner table and running around with his friends which turned into laying around his bedroom and laughing when he became older.
Without people he was unsure of what to do with himself, he paced around and got antsy and struggled to voice what was wrong. He was a people's person. With nobody else around his motivation would drop like lead, he got quiet and reserved, but he found comfort in familiarity. The same walls with the same smells and chairs that are always in the same place, the way that the sugar cubes were too high up for him to reach and how the telly remote was always on the coffee table. If nothing had changed, everything seemed to be going okay.
Soon after his magic started to manifest he learned that Cameron hadn't displayed any and was assumed to be non-magical and for a long time those words held no meaning until one august evening, they did. Away from mother, away from father. A long ways away from his brother, the only constant in his life. When mommy worked and daddy was at a meeting, he would be there to calm him down and watch something with him or chase him around the garden. A constant that he couldn't bare to lose now, new people new places without anything to ground him and so he found himself in the back garden. The summer heat was unbearable and left his skin sticky and clothes uncomfortable, the temperature was almost dizzying.
"You'll be fine my lovely,"
"You will make lots of friends!"
"And you can always send us an owl you know?"
The words did little to comfort him.
finished.
