History/Background Story: Born to a wizarding family, Gretchen is the tenth of ten children. She has three older maternal half siblings, four older paternal half siblings, and two older full siblings, as a result of her parents being each other's second spouses. Gretchen is cheerful but tends to stay towards the back of things, as she believes others always have a chance to do things better than she does. She always tries her best to be the best, but that isn't always possible and she understands that, especially with nine older siblings.

Gretchen loses focus on conversations very easily, mostly due to her constant need to be doing something. She's a very touchy sort of person, and gives pretty good hugs as a result.

Gretchen has her father's eyes, chin, and nose, but most of her other features resemble her mother's, or even sometimes her grandparents' features. Her eyes and hair are dark, but her skin is fair.

Gretchen's childhood was pretty average for a wizarding child. She did things like go to school, make friends, talk about what her older siblings said about Hogwarts and pout about not getting to go. Her favorite brother was August, her half-brother seven years older than she was.

Her first incident of accidental magic happened when she was five and a half. She looked up at a spider, while she was reading a book about butterflies, and accidentally turned it into a butterfly because she was so scared.

Gretchen always wanted to be admitted into Hogwarts early, but this never happened, since it was against school rules. Still, she had a true hope that she'd be the first seven-year-old Hogwarts student, even writing stories about how she'd be sorted into her favorite house, which changed with each letter a sibling sent home.

Family:
Michelle Whistler-Jones: My mother. She's amazing, and does pretty much everything she can to help us kids out. She doesn't like talking about the others' dad, though, at least, not with me around.
Charles Whistler: My dad. He's pretty cool, too, even if I don't get to see him all that much. He's a wizarding architect, which means he builds these houses. He's smart enough, too! He talks about Fiona sometimes, that's his first wife. She sounds nice.
Alfred Whistler: My older half-brother, dad's first son. He's pretty cool, but we don't talk a lot. His girlfriend is really nice, the two of them came to babysit me a few times. We saw a Muggle movie. Alf's nice, he just lives far away because of his Ministry job. There's a 15 year age gap between us.
Marcia Jones-Whistler: My older half-sister, mum's first daughter. She's a Hufflepuff, like me! Or was. She wrote me a long letter about all the cool things I could do in Hufflepuff house, then told me to keep my grades up. Marcia's three years younger than Alf, and she's gonna be a Healer next year.
Erica and Heather Whistler: My older half-sisters, dad's middle kids. They're twins, but in different houses. They're almost identical, and I have the hardest time telling them apart. They're two years younger that Marcia, and Erica's two minutes older than Heather. Erica's going to Muggle college to be an art teacher, and Heather's gonna be Minister of Magic someday!
August Jones-Whistler: August is my older half-brother, mum's middle son. He's my favorite, and he's a Hufflepuff, too! August babysat a lot for me when I was younger, and we write letters every month! He's just graduated from Hogwarts, so Mum's letting him stay at home right now.
Stella Jones-Whistler: My older half-sister, mum's youngest daughter from her first marriage. She's pretty quiet, but when we do talk, it's nice. I like to hug her, and she lets me. She doesn't let anybody else! She's a seventh year, so I see her sometimes.
Andrew Whistler: My older half-brother, dad's youngest son from his first marriage. He does all kinds of cool stuff, and he can even ride a Muggle skateboard. He's pretty good at Quidditch, too, but he doesn't wanna play on the house team. He's a seventh year, too. Isn't that neat?
Jason Whistler: My oldest "full" brother, 'cos we have the same exact parents. He gets an owl to use at school, and he never lets me share unless he's already sending mail home, so I use the school owls. We have a picture of me as a little where my hair is pink, 'cos Jason wanted to make sure people knew I was a girl. He's a fourth year.
Oliver Whistler: My older "full" brother, and he's a year above me! 'Cept he's thirteen now, 'cos his birthday is September 17th. I have to wait until May to turn twelve. Oli's quiet as well, and we used to be really close because we were the youngest and Mum would bring us everywhere with her.
