Dye-saster!
Note: This is backstory. I just wanted to roleplay and have some fun, so it won't be all that organized.
Place: Grasse, France, Age: 9 (CM1 or 4th grade)
It was almost summer. The three, Teiki, Reina, and Danielle, had gone into some of the fields of flowers that lived on the outskirts of Grasse. The flowers would soon be plucked to be created into perfume, but for now, they continued their persistent blooming, the light breeze giving them fresh scents and clean air to breathe. They strolled through, chatting, leaving their hands to follow each flower, the petals softly caressing their hands. They laughed, joked, before racing up towards a small, nearby hill. Their energy gleamed in the sun, prancing around a bit before lying down on the grass.
"<<What are you going to do for the summer?>>" Danielle asked (in French). She glanced at the other two teasingly, and they all knew that she already had an idea.
"<<Just skip to what your new idea is, Dan. We all know it's probably going to be ridiculous.>>" Reina said, grinning. She was a year older than the other two, but had stayed friends with the two youngster since Teiki and Danielle had been in CP (First Grade). They laughed, before Teiki propped herself up on her elbows, smiling softly.
"<<Yeah, what's your idea this time? Last time, I was the guinea pig, so this time it's got to be Reina, right>>?" Teiki quickly rolled out of the way as Reina attempted to push her, complaining how Teiki was such a horrible friend.
"<<I'll never help you with your homework again!>>" Reina humphed, before grinning when Teiki started bowing down.
"Non! Ma reine! Ma reine..!" (No! My queen, my queen) Teiki bowed again, before sitting back down when Reina waved her away.
"<<You two. Get back on subject! It's nothing really. My idea, I mean. I think we should dye Reina hair. You know, as a parting gift.>>" Danielle reached up to weave her hand through Reina's short, almost silver hair. Reina quickly shot back, before petting her own hair, mock-glaring at the two of them.
"<<What color, do you think?>>" Teiki pondered, looking softly at Reina. Rey would be leaving for middle school soon, but Dan and herself weren't going to truly let her leave the two of them behind.
"<<I'm thinking bright blue..>>" Dan said, walking back over so she could hug the suspicious Reina.
"I don't trust this girl." Reina said in English, a language Teiki could understand, but Danielle couldn't.
"Oh, Rey. It'll wash off, plus, it'll look so pretty on you. It won't work on my hair," she said, indicating her black hair that currently resided in two buns above her ears. "Plus, Danielle's hair would only make the color look mucky."
"<<Ey! Don't talk about me in some other language. Not fair! Spreading rumors.>>" Danielle let go off Reina, looking at the two tongue-traitors.
"<<I was just trying to convince Rey.>>" Teiki said innocently, putting her hands up. Danielle looked at her sceptically, before nodding at the two.
"<<So, what say you?>>"

<<You know, I still don't really trust the two of you.>> Reina grinned at the two of them, before falling onto the soft grass that the slopping hill provided. <<I'll have to think about it a bit before I can actually make a decision.>>
<<Okay, but in the mean time, we'll campaign!>> Dan smiled, before grabbing Teiki into a tight hug, causing Teiki to squirm and stand on her toes.
<<Maybe.. you could let go..>> Teiki exhaled heavily as Danielle finally backed up a bit, before grinning as well, <<Okay! But first, let's deliberate. An important step in campaigning.>> While this might have been true, Teiki stated this in mock serious, wagging her finger at Danielle before side hugging her. She let go and blew a kiss at the two of them before falling onto her back so that she could roll down the hill. When she reached the bottom, she noticed the other two looking at her with slight confusion and humor.
<<Oh, come on! It's fun. Dan, get down here!>> She happily obliged, and soon the red head had fallen into Teiki's lap, laughing.
"Oi!" Teiki said, her slight British accent having arrived for a short visit. She lightly pushed the other girl off of her before brushing down the front of her skirt. Then, they quickly thought of talking points as Reina watched the clouds as they wisped around in the breeze.
Both girls huffed as they made their way back up the tiny slope. They giggled, before quickly getting Reina's attention.
<<Well, for one, it's not breaking any school rules, which is important!>> Teiki started.
<<And it'll look really pretty in your hair!>>
<<It's almost summer, so dyed hair is more prominent among students.>>
<<Plus, you're leaving us, so obviously you owe us some fun.>>
<<In addition, it'll go away after a few days.>> Teiki ended the small speech with a pose, before looking at Rey inquisitively.
<<It had better go away after a few days. And I'm not trusting you guys to dye my hair.>> Reina stated.

~The Next Day~
Teiki quickly pecked her mom on the cheek, kissed the tops of her sisters heads, and waved at her father before racing down the street, attempting to get to Dan's house. While they were on the same street, each house had plenty of land to grow flowers and other plants. So, when she finally made it to the front door of Danielle's house at a good sprint, she was exhausted. She put her hands on her knees, panting. Before she could knock on the door, Danielle had opened the door and pulled her into a hug.
<<You ready for the greatest moment ever?>> Danielle squealed, letting go of Teiki to jump around.
<<We have to actually get to school first. And considering your constant hugging, I doubt I'll make it to the bus.>> Teiki panted, smiling. They waited for a few moments before Teiki stretched and smiled at the other girl.
<<Ready?>>
"Mais oui!" (but, yes!) Danielle pumped her fist in the air, letting out another high-pitched scream before racing off. Teiki followed, muttering something about headstarts and having already run.
When they made it to school with a few minutes to spare, they searched around frantically for Reina. Most of their searching consisted of outside classrooms because Reina always felt more attached to education than the other two. Teiki, on the other hand, would shut down at school, squirming when anyone other than her two best friends would talk to her.
<<Where do you think she is?>> Teiki whispered, walking closer to Dan.
<<For crying out loud, you need to give me some space. Stop being so introverted. I know it's not you.>> Dan softly pushed her. It was apparent Danielle didn't like Teiki's sudden change, but she didn't push Teiki too hard about her school decisions. Teiki smiled, relief on her face.
The only classes that the three had together were physical education and art. So when P. E. came along, both were excited, much to the surprise of their English teacher, the class Dan and Teiki had before. They ran over to the courtyard, grinning when they saw Reina. The blue had turned to be soft, which matched her personality and appearance in so many ways. Both complimented her as they continued to rotate around her.
<<This had better come off in a few days.>> Reina muttered, but Teiki had learned that she was secretly happy. What for, Teiki had no idea, but Dan probably knew.
"But Rey, it looks so pretty, you look so sophisticated and beautiful." Teiki exclaimed, giving her a few confused glances from her class (from the different language and random outburst). She blushed and shrunk.
<<If you say so.>> Reina smiled softly while Dan nodded, not entirely sure what she was agreeing to.

~A Few Days Later~
Teiki and Dan were both taken back by surprise when they got off of the bus. They had been happily chatting, Teiki starting to lose her energy, when they saw Reina running up to them. Her eyes held panic and her running was sloppy, quick. She spiraled her arms as she forced herself to a stop before the two girls.
<<You lied to me!>> She called, her hands hidden in her jacket as she wiped away some tears falling from her eyes. A few people took notice, standing to watch what would occur. They all gave confused glances at the trio, so Teiki scanned Reina. It was almost instantly that she remembered; the dye was supposed to wash out by now. But her hair was still a soft blue, its soft glow never wavering.
<<Calm down. You still look pretty. Did you try to wash it off?>> Dan put her palms up, trying to make eye contact with Reina.
"Of course I tried! But it didn't work! Or else it wouldn't still be blue!" While Reina had cried out in English, her hand motions had given Danielle enough hints. She paused, before nodding slowly, trying to create calm by moving slower.
<<Hey, it's okay. It'll wash off. It'll just take a few more days. It looks really pretty, plus lots of other people have their hair dyed, so it's normal.>> Dan attempted to hug her, but Reina squirmed, heavy breathes starting to slow down.
"But.. it doesn't look nice." Reina whispered. Teiki stepped forward, nodding at Danielle that she had the situation under control. She reached slowly and hugged the shaking girl.
"Hey, no. You look really pretty. The blue looks so nice with your eyes. After a few weeks, it'll be completely gone. And you won't have to worry about it anymore." Teiki muttered softly into Reina's ear, pausing every so often. She let the other girl sink a bit, before calming down. Only when she finally stood on her own, and wiped the tears, did Teiki ask if she was okay.
"Yeah, I just thought it would be done. I overreacted." Reina laughed, a small pathetic thing og hope and embarrassment. But Teiki caressed it, growing it.
"We all overreact some times. Remember some of those informational videos they've shown us in class?" Reina and Teiki both laughed, while Dan looked at the two inquisitively.

Dye-saster!
~A Week Later~
<<No way.>> Danielle deadpanned, glancing off into the distance. Teiki eyes quickly followed, looking at the crowds of people exiting the bus. She stood up, patiently waiting for the rows behind her to finish their loud cacophony and allow her a place into the line.
<<Made you look.>> Danielle grinned, hopping into the line as quickly as she could. But Teiki had noticed something else. Hair. Bright blue, obviously newly done, as the color shined brighter than before. Teiki paused, surprised.
<<What?>> Dan squirmed, trying to look out of the windows.
<<You'll see later.>> Teiki quickly shook her head, getting into the line. She wasn't entirely sure she could believe it, with all of the fuss that Reina had been putting up before. Now she was willing to dye her hair without some guilt-tripping and dares? Teiki escaped her mind's eye to find herself right outside of the bus, her feet having guided her from years of experience.
<<You sure seem shaken. How come?>> Dan pulled her out of the way of piling students, raising one eyebrow inquisitively. Teiki shook her head, apologizing and asking Dan not to worry. After all, Dan was sure to find out later. And sometimes Teiki did enjoy surprises.
~~~
P.E. rolled along again, with the two 4th graders running out to the courtyard. Teiki wore a smug face when Dan got her first glimpse of Rey. She looked back at Teiki, shocked, before running over to Reina.
<<You kept it! But you seemed so angry at it before!>> Dan exclaimed, being followed by a blushing Teiki.
<<It still looks really pretty. But, yeah, I was also shocked.>> Rey laughed at their surprise, grinning as if she were victorious over the two of them.
<<Yeah, I realized that I liked it. So I dyed it again.>> Reina shrugged, her smile broadening when she noticed her friends' grinning faces. They hugged quickly, before racing over to the numbers as class started.
