An encounter, for sure
@Koko Riddle
Visting the calm, sweet, peaceful, and serene ground of Hogwarts was a staple of Thea’s daily routine. The probably most crowded place she’d go to on her free time, and yet none of the calmer ones could replace it. The ballroom didn’t have the chirping birds, the library lacked the soft breeze rustling the tree leaves, the study room’s scratching of quill against parchment couldn’t be the waves on the great lake if it tried to, and no amount of music in the rehearsal room could replace the students’ chatter and laughter as they chased each other or did whatever else.
Now that it was fall, it the weather could’ve been better, yes, but Thea couldn’t complain as the warmish sun came upon Thea’s pale, freckled face and firey red hair. Her robes provided enough resistance to the now slightly colder wind without making her feel horribly strained and layered.
Thea sat down by a tree near the great lake, a small spot free of the orange, dry leaves that have fallen of the tree. Not close enough to get splashed by some kids barely a year younger than hair, but enough to have a great view as the small waves came and went, and an even better view of the rest of the grounds. She could see people doing the same or climbing the trees to sit somewhere in the branches, as well as just people freely on some blankets as if they were having a picnic.
Amongst these students were some of the American teens. Thea had to admit – she was worried a bit. Not because of where they were from, but because they were way too energetic. She hasn’t interacted with one since the incident at the gates with the blonde boy who went a little way too much overboard and since than, she was… traumatized, or something along those lines.
So you could imagine her panic when she saw the exact same boy, the same blonde haired blue eyed boy with the same smug smirk come upon the Hogwarts grounds and lay his eyes upon the red headed Hufflepuff.

As Cyrus 'Cy' Darsel
Cyrus was bored. He always went outside when he was bored, and Hogwarts had so much pure forest and grasslands to explore. He was excited to see all of the nature that Hogwarts had to offer, but what did he want to do more than that? Only one thing: look at British girls.
Upon first thinking that, Cy thought himself a creep. Why? Who wouldn't?! He was a thirteen-year-old boy; he was bound to have odd moments like this, but this was too weird for even him. He was scouting the ground for pretty British girls, and his tight-lipped pout turned into a tight-lipped smirk when he saw someone familiar. Aha.
The duck-print-clad boy began his long, confident stride to meet her. Miss No-Name Girl. Who might she be? Red hair, something that was exotic to him, was atop her head in cherubic waves that framed her face. She was beautiful. Cyrus had never seen red hair in his life, so Miss No-Name Girl was quite memorable in her looks. She wore yellow robes, which, from Cy's research, would mean she was a Hufflepuff. Probably. He was usually right with these things, but not always.
He arrived in front of her and was glad when he was a pleasant amount taller. His icy blue eyes were alight with electricity inside of them, electricity at the buzz of getting to know a new person. "Hey," he said, crossing his arms over his chest and not acting like a complete doofus this time, "Miss No-Name Girl. Hi. I'm Cy. And who might you be?" His words were rushed into different sentences when they shouldn't have been, but the boy didn't care at all. No, he was fine with this. As long as he got to talk to her. "I've been looking for you."

An encounter, for sure
Sorry for the length!
Thea didn’t quite know what to do as the boy was approaching her. She could get up and run, but that’d just bring more attention to herself, and that was the opposite of what she wanted. She hated anything even remotely theatrical. The boy finally arrived and stood in front of Thea, which, even if she wasn’t sitting, made him much taller.
The American student started to speak, revealing his name to the poor Hufflepuff girl. Cy. It could’ve been a shortened version of something, could’ve been a very unfortunately short name, or a combination of both and his parents having a weird love for the color cyan. All three sounded terrible. His next words though were still more alarming than his parents’ weird name choices.
„I’ve been looking for you.”
Well that wasn’t alarming at all, was it? If Thea didn’t know what to do beforehand, she lost all rational and functioning braincells responsible for decision making now. She wanted to smile back with confidence, and be able to make small talk like a normal, reasonable person would, but it seems all she could do was smile like an idiot, like she really didn’t want to be there and couldn’t be bother to try and hide it.
„Thea.” she whispered softly. It would probably be better to not interact at all, but if she was forced to talk to ‘Cy’, best to at least retain common courtesy.

Thea. It was a pretty name, for a pretty girl. Cyrus nodded, a smile spreading across his features. "Uh," the boy said, "I..." Smooth, Cyrus. Smooth. He raised his eyebrows. "I wanna get to know you better." He grinned, his cerulean eyes shining. "Do you know of any vines? Memes?" Probably not, but it didn't hurt to ask.
Cyrus was barely registering how the other student acted. Scared? Nervous? Why? The question he asked the most often was why, and he enjoyed having it answered. So he wouldn't just settle for not knowing. The curious, science-driven boy was in love with questions, and more specifically, their answers. Cyrus' smile faded, his eyes narrowing and his brow furrowing in confusing. Why? "You okay? he asked, "Are you shy?" He was asking a lot. The boy needed to tell the brilliant redhead something about himself. But what would she want to hear? Small talk could be difficult to make. Cy was tempted to comment on the temperate weather, but instead, he folded his hands in front of him and swayed on his feet. His lower lip began to ache as he realised that he was chewing it. Why? It made no sense why he couldn't speak properly to this one girl. "Uh... My favourite colour is cyan. You?"
