Shopping in Diagon Alley Pt.01
The teacher that had brought Evelyn alongside some other witches and wizards who would have difficulty in getting to Diagon Alley and said that she would wait for them at the Leaky Cauldron. "Don't go buying an animal unless you have the money for it, and all purchases for school-related items has already been handled by the headmaster." The women yelled at the children who had already started to leave, some of them were walking and others had taken off running in excitement.
Evelyn pulled out her list of supplies from a pocket on her dress and did a quick look over for the things she would need. I suppose I should leave heavy things like the Books and cauldron for last and pick up the smaller ones like the wand, she thought. Placing her list back in her pocket she was left with a small map of the area that told important things like where certain shops were and some kinda bank.
She knew exactly where she wanted to go first though to get a wand no matter what. She made her way past the other shops and observed how the other kids were either looking in the windows and talking to their friends about magical things. As she passed by a place that seemed to sell brooms, though she wasn't sure why the kids were getting all excited about a broom made for sweeping.
This had left her feeling a little left out and hurt when many of the kids were passing the area with their parents it left a rather lonely hurt feeling in her chest. She finally arrived at the shop Olivanders and it had a small sign on it that said, Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C. Opening the door Evelyn could tell the smell was a little strange in this place it even gave off an aura of power. Must be from the wands, she thought.
The store was empty at the moment and the owner she couldn't see so she simply looked at the wand boxes as she walked around the store. Evelyn as she walked through the store suddenly felt like something was pulling her and eventually the feeling got less as she arrived towards one of the shelves but the pull was still there and it was going towards a light purple box. She pulled the box out carefully as to not nock any of the others over or out. Opening it there sat a slender wand but she wasn't even sure how long it is or even what type of wood was used for it.
"Ah that's a 28 cm chestnut with a unicorn hair for a core," a voice suddenly said from behind her. She let out a small yelp in surprise and quickly turned around there was an old eccentric looking man standing there. "Now why did you choose that wand out of all the others?"
"Umm, It just felt right, I guess," was all she could say in reply not knowing really why she grabbed this one over the others.
"What is your name?" The man asked
"Evelyn Rosewater," she replied back, fidgeting where she was standing unsure if she did something wrong.
"Well then miss Rosewater I believe you have finished shopping here, the headmaster already sent your payment and I'm Olivander," he said.
"Actually, I have a few questions about wands and if you sell them then you should know about them," Evelyn said "Well that is if you don't mind,"
