Alan was walking down the corridor, this should have been around here somewhere; he pretty sure he had seen it on that Map he had been given. He had never really come around to use it though, s he was curious on where all the passages lead. Of course it showed on the Map somehow, but he never saw either of them. How could he have passed these hallways millionth of times and never see this way.

When he found a statue his eyes lit up and he walked around it, to see if it was finally the correct one and indeed it was! He took a look around, not many were there, so he lost attention to the people around him. None of those would see him, right? And well there were no professors he saw in an instant, so that worry was also crossed from his list, as he found a way into the passage.

Of course he had found some shortcuts before and this one was no different. Castle walls and lights for orientation. They must have been magical, since Alan could not imagine someone else always refreshing the light and they could not be electric or anything. Alan has learned about electricity when he stayed over at his aunt's place with his cousins, who kind of embraced muggle technology. Alan did not mind that they did, but he was suspicious himself about that stuff and could not imagine how it could possibly work. And that time Lamik explained money to him? He was still a bit confused, maybe he should send the Gryffindor another owl and see how he is doing...

Well now he had a shortcut to discover, so he cleared his head off thoughts by shaking his head and started to go through the passage, looking around carefully. He just knew it was supposed to lead to a classroom.
