Taking place on the 31st of August, 2019; boarding the train for her first year of Hogwarts

Brielle bit her lip as she turned back to look at her mother, a disapproving glare plastered across her face. All because Brielle picked Hogwarts over Illvermorny. It hadn't been her fault she favored the Draco storyline than some lousy knockoff at some other school. As her mother's beautiful face shifted, it now formed a smile, a sincere one at least. And with that Brielle headed on the train.

She hadn't been nervous to sit with others on the train. She simply envisioned finding a booth and sitting down without a word. There was no point in asking to sit somewhere, because the train hadn't been run by the students she asked, therefore they didn't make the rules of where one can be seated. It didn't matter anyway, because she had found an open booth all to herself anyway. As she delicatley sat down, Brielle pulled out a book on Greek Mythology. It would be an understatement to say she loved to topic. She adored it, for that matter. Something about the goddesses and their roles gave Brielle a warm feeling. She often compared herself to Aphrodite. A beautiful, elegant woman with a knack for reading, and all things perfect. Maybe comparing herself to the Greek goddess of Beauty was an exaggeration, though she does resemble some goddess like characteristics.

As Brielle just then turned the page of her novel, she heard a creak, and the sliding of the screen door to her booth.

Stella swallowed as she stood in the door frame of the mostly empty compartment. It had a single brunette girl looking about her age seated on the cushioned bench with an open book in her lap. This was promising, wasn't it? Stella wasn't sure, for the girl hadn't even glanced up at the sound of the door opening. Stella's mother had encouraged her to branch out and make friends on the train ride to Hogwarts, for it had been proved before that the people you met on the train your first year often ended up forming into friendships that lasted all throughout your time at Hogwarts and afterwards. Her parents had met on the train, after all.

Knocking against the frame softly with her free hand, Stella planted a smile on her lips and shifted her grip on her trunk handle. The trunk itself was navy blue, one of Stella's most liked colors. Her true favorite was yellow, but her mother hadn't been able to find any yellow trunks. "Besides,"She'd said to Stella with a laugh."You wouldn't want to stand out that much." Shaking her head fondly at the memory, Stella turned her attention once again to the girl in the compartment.

"Guid day," She greeted politely, her Scottish accent standing out more prominently than she'd intended. Oh,well She thought to herself. Students from all over attend Hogwarts, so there must be plenty of accent-mingling. "Can Ah join ye?"

It was a girl, a pretty girl for that matter. Her long red hair flowed over her shoulders messily, yet intricately. Brielle had half expected the fellow first year to be snarky, or pretentious; yet she seemed content, a smile placed easily on her resting facade.

"I don't see why not?" She replied, one perfect eyebrow raised as she spoke. It wasn't like Brielle was going to tell her 'no she cant sit here.' That was something only rude people did, wasn't it?

She certainly is not someone who is classified as rude, rather just a girl with a sharp attitude. She could be just as nice as a Hufflepuff when she wanted to, others just didn't see that part of her. She glanced to the seat across from her and then back at the girl, implying she could have a seat there. Unsure of what to say next, though, she instead looked out the window as the train cart begun to move- the scenery of the old run down train station disappearing from view. Brielle could see the smoke from the train rise to the air as it moved, causing her to have a sick feeling in her stomach.

It was normal for a train to produce smoke exhaust; though seeing it go out into the world sort of made her sad. Smoke wasn't good for the environment, she knew that for sure.

Stella breathed a sigh of relief at the girl's reply, moving into the compartment carefully and sitting across from where she sat with a grateful smile. "Cheers. Aw th' other ones are filled tae th' brim." She laughed, thinking about how eager some of the other first years had been to meet new people-- so much that she'd been shoved aside as they rushed to get to an available compartment before her. She'd been rather surprised at that, but could also understand their excitement. It was exactly how she felt, after all.

Noticing the other girl's dismal expression, she turned her attention to where the other's gaze was trained. She figured that the girl must be concentrating on the puffs of steam billowing in the crisp, late summer air. She also induced that she must be mistaking it for smoke polluting the air and took this as an opportunity to cheer her up.

"It's a steam engine." She explained, remembering to her conversation with her parents on the way to the station. "It's not smoke, it's steam." She added, pulling out the notebook she'd smuggled along with all the notes she'd written while she'd been flooded with enough knowledge that she'd surely know her way around Hogwarts and wouldn't get lost. "It's always been that way."

CONNOR had been expecting this train ride since, well, forever, yet he still felt horribly nervous as he boarded the train. His heart had dropped to his stomach and he kept having to wipe his palms on his trousers. His eyes darted around the train, and Connor felt like even the walls were scrutinizing him.

His parents had made a show of comforting him, loudly reassuring him that they’d send him an owl after he was sorted into Gryffindor. It was laughable, really. Connor would more likely be a squib than be sorted into Gryffindor, but his parents couldn’t seem to grasp that concept.

He shook his head, dragging himself back to reality. He took a hand from his trunk, shaking it like you did after using a quill for too long— or, in this instance, pulled a heavy trunk for too long. He wasn’t going to bother walking all up and down the train looking for an empty compartment— he’d rather not sit alone, anyway.

He knocked on the nearest one shortly before pulling open the compartment door, revealing two girls, both his age, thankfully. One had long red hair, and the other was a brunette.

“Hey, I, er- need a place to sit. Do you mind?”
