Brooms, brooms and snitches
August 10th, 2019.
Previous to 'Meeting the wandmaker.'It’s getting a little foggy once Roman steps out of Ollivanders with his new wand, still a little shocked about the shivers that went down his body after having found the perfect choice. Wearing his black trenchcoat, the boy looks around the Diagon Alley, eyes scanning the different witches and wizards walking buy; some adults on their own, others accompanied by their kids. It makes him frown when he finds a mother helping her child get off the floor, the small monster of jealousy getting a hold of his heart for a brief second.
Crossing his arms, he begins to tap his left foot against the floor, impatiently waiting for his father to come out of Gringotts. Roman had gone to the Diagon Alley with his father in order to purchase what he needed for his first year at Hogwarts, but, come to think of it, it would've been a lot more fun to have come on his own. Knowing his old man would take a while at the wizarding bank, the dark-haired boy takes his time to look around the other stores.
Quality Quidditch Supplies instantly catches his eyes, and he makes his way towards the entrance, watching the younger kids peering into the window, eyes wide at the sight of different brooms. Out of all the stores at the Diagon Alley, Roman, being the Quidditch fan that he is, adored that one the most. Not only is it the most fun to watch, always having different supplies to expose, but it had the best Quidditch collection for someone that liked to buy merchandising of his favorite Quidditch teams.
He had a Ballycastle Bats posters collection (there still some ex-players that he needs to find in order to finish it), and a personalized scarf, as well as different player cards, similar to ones that come in the chocolate frogs. Everything that he had came from that one store. Staring into the window, he sees the classical Firebolt staring back at him. Collectional, Roman thinks with an interested hum, eyes lowering, in search for the price.
"Oi, wot the hell?!" Roman lets out, even taking a step back, astounded. The price is incredulous! His eyes go back, now staring at the inside of the store; it seems that two old wizards around his father's age are fighting over the broom, based off of their gestures and angry expressions.
"Kid," Virgil Kingston's familiar tone makes the eleven-year-old jump, then glare at his old man with furious eyes. The wizard doesn't seem bothered by it, adjusting his tie, "You've got everything you need?"
"Of course," Still frustrated over his reaction, he says in a salty tone, running his hands over his trenchcoat. Then, noticing as his father begins to make his way towards the crowd, Roman follows, poking at him, "I don't take that long to do such simple things,"
Other than a heavy sigh, his words don't get a bigger reaction out of his father, which makes the boy sulk, arms crossed as the two of them walk among the sea of voices and bumps, ready to leave and go back home.
