Safe Haven Solo

Asteria felt like she would fall down from dizziness. Hogwarts was way too confusing for her. She had gotten lost so many times and she was pretty sure she had walked across this hallway before. Sighing, she tried to remember where she was. Asteria knew, or hoped, she was on the ground floor. The library should be near. She hoped she hasn't misinterpreted the prefect's instructions. Spying something that looked like library doors, she walked toward them.

Asteria quietly walked into the library. She was already dreaming of all the books she was going to read. She ran her hands along the spines of the books, trying to find the right one. Asteria wanted the first book to read from the Hogwarts library to be special.

She was scared to ask the librarians for a reccomandation. They shushed you if you breathed too loudly. Maybe the book will come to me. While walking to the tables, a bright red cover caught her eye. Quidditch Through the Ages. Asteria was a huge fan of Quidditch and she did want to try out for the team next year. Maybe she can impress them with her knowledge.

She grabbed the book and tried to find a place to sit. Almost every seat was occupied and no one she knew or recognized was there that she could join. It was way too windy outside and her dorm room was stuffy. She really needed to work on her social skills.

The back of the library was a perfect spot to read. Almost no one came to the back. She used her jacket as a backrest and opened her book. The smell of fresh paper filled her nostrils. She sighed contently. Asteria was finally where she belonged.
