I stood outside, in rainy weather in some random seemingly strange no-name town in England. 'Rye', Rye is what Auntie had called it, it used to be an important shipping center back in Roman times back when it was surrounded by water at least. I dunno, it just looked like rows upon rows of half Tudor and half brick houses and shops. Apparently she lived in Mermaid Street a hard place to buy a home to get into, for some reason, who knows?
Knocking on the door once again, Madame Bianchi quietly opened the door, I only met her at the last family reunion. She was Auntie's most recent 'sugar-baby', as Dad called her but I thought she was kind. "Hey, sweetpea!" Madame Bianchi is spoke in her normal, up-beat tone, "come on inside, I don't want freezing out here now." Grabbing my hand she pulled me, and my belongings inside. The inside of the home was warm, with it's mahogany floors and dim lights it seemed foreign but the brick made it a little more homey.
I was advised to take off my soaking coat and boots and join my aunt in the living room as soon as possibly, and I abided. Slipping off my leather boots and wooly jacket I came to the solemn realization that I was whole-heartedly not prepared for this what so-ever, but what happens is what happens. Walking into the 'parlor', I sat down on a small, cushioned loveseat. It was directly across from where my aunt, "Good evening, Leia. How are tonight?" I tried to smile and quietly took a cup of tea. "I'm great, how are you?" She flashed a small smile and nodded, "perfect, if only the weather wasn't as bad as it should as it be now." Bianchi joined us a moment later, "sorry sweetpea, I was trying to get everything to your room if you don't mind." I looked over at her and handed her a cup, "thank you, ma'am." I watched as she let out a small chuckle before taking a drink of tea, "you will find your room up the stairs, to the east hall and the first door left, the bathroom the first door right." I attempted to make a sort of thank you symbol to her, and worked on finishing my tea.

It was about 8:00 when I awoke. Looking outside I saw people walking around, going in and out of...shops? I also noticed a young boy going to different houses across Mermaid Street delivering baskets of produce, meat, and different kinds of starches. Some of the baskets also contained other concessions, jars, utensils, soaps, towels, toothbrushes...Auntie had told her about this, people would call somebody who would send out a child or maybe teen to get the groceries and deliver it to them family. Maybe this boy or one of his co-workers would come and deliver to their home. I let go of the rose velvet curtains and sunk back into the darkness of the room, I turned back, looking at the study in the corner, with its intricate, fancy designs and the old, dusty books that adorned the older bookcases, with their chips and cracks and old moist wood. Then I looked at what sat a-top the desk, with it's fresh Burberry ink, and fine quill pen. With it's golden speckled white feather and gold tip it looked like it was made for a king or queen, but it was a normal feat around here. With a sigh, I sat down grasping the quill pen and began working on my Literary Rite.
