A Peace Treaty

"I mean... can't I just like... I dunno avoid all the paintings for the next seven years? It's seem like it would at the very least be less embarrassing that this..."

James grumbled as he and Lamik may their journey through the twisting corridors of the 3rd floor. It was two days before the ball, and Lamik had convinced him that he should at least try to make amends with the various Centaur Paintings, so he didn't embarrass himself in front of the Ilvermorny students.

So the two boys we making their way to the large portrait of the "Centaur King" that stood grandly between the Charms Classroom and the Hospital Wing.

"I feel like it's not going to work anyway, Lamik. Like he got so pissed off because of a small comment- what do you think... he's basically demanding my execution here... I'm not sure there's any way to apologize appropriately to this guy without getting my head chopped off."

They rounded the corner and the grand portrait stood proudly. Taller than both of the boys, with and intricate gilded frame, the visage of a mighty Centaur with rippling muscles and a crown fashioned to look like twisted vines. The Centaur king looked down his nose at the two boys, a disgusted grimace plastered onto his regal face.

"So... it's the traitor... the despicable sniveling little worm, who dared to insult me... KING OF ALL CENTAURS. Come... worm... prostrate yourself before me so I may deliver your punishment..."

James rolled his eyes, "Ok. I'm out" he said, attempting to leave.

"So Listen..." Lamik said as they walked through the halls. "I know that technically we dont have any official roles in the Order, but we can both agree that it's been made pretty clear that i'm the groups idiot." The boy sighed, remembering his general ignorance when it comes to social cues. "Its literally just a painting. It cant hurt you." At least, thats what Lamik thought- you could never be sure at Hogwarts. "All you have to do is apologize. Its not that hard."

As soon as James turned around to leave, Lamik tried to grab onto his collar and tug him back. "Oh no you dont..." he muttered under his breath. Looking up at the painting, the Gryffindor gave a quick nod and spoke. "Oh, benevolent king." He said dramatically. "We have come here because my friend, James Julius McMurtie Jr. the fifth has realized his mistake. He now knows that he is but a lowly worm next to someone of your stature, and would like to ask for your forgivness. Between you and me, he is daft sometimes, but thats genetics for you. Please, just this once pardon him, merciful king, and it will never ever happen again."
